00:00:23
Speaker 1: thank you for your continued support. You're making a big
00:00:26
Speaker 1: difference in helping us improve our little podcast and helping
00:00:30
Speaker 1: make it thrive. When was the last time you gazed
00:00:35
Speaker 1: up into the inky black sky and saw the stars.
00:00:40
Speaker 1: It's such a magical and awesome sight. If you have
00:00:45
Speaker 1: the chance, you should always take it well. Today is
00:00:50
Speaker 1: World Peace Day and Cocoa and I really want to
00:00:54
Speaker 1: celebrate it, so we thought that we could all do
00:00:58
Speaker 1: a little bit of star gazing together. Let's lie back
00:01:03
Speaker 1: now in your bed. Breathe gently and clasp your hands
00:01:09
Speaker 1: under your head. Gently close your eyes so you feel
00:01:14
Speaker 1: your eyelashes on your cheeks. With your eyes closed, imagine
00:01:21
Speaker 1: yourself lying down on the soft, warm ground and looking
00:01:27
Speaker 1: up to the sky above you. It's inky black with
00:01:32
Speaker 1: a hint of navy blue, and it's full of tiny
00:01:38
Speaker 1: pinpricks of light stars. Look up at the stars and
00:01:44
Speaker 1: see how they sparkle in the sky. Very soon, we're
00:01:49
Speaker 1: going to fly up into space and meet all the
00:01:53
Speaker 1: friendly planets of our Solar system. We'll find them watching
00:01:58
Speaker 1: the creatures who on their surfaces, enjoying a particularly special day.
00:02:06
Speaker 1: This is Gaya and the Peaceful Planets by Susanna McLaughlin.
00:02:19
Speaker 1: It was a very peaceful day in space. The planets
00:02:24
Speaker 1: were hanging comfortably in their places in the blanket of
00:02:28
Speaker 1: dark sky which stretched as far as anybody could see.
00:02:33
Speaker 1: Millions of stars twinkled and shimmered in the inky darkness,
00:02:38
Speaker 1: like delicate fairy lights, straight across the whole sky. Astronauts
00:02:44
Speaker 1: were bobbing around softly in their space station, and the
00:02:49
Speaker 1: occasional little spaceship trundled by carving a sleepy path through
00:02:54
Speaker 1: the stars. The milky Way was glowing softly and twirly,
00:03:01
Speaker 1: whirlly galaxies streaked the sky in the distance. There was
00:03:07
Speaker 1: a special feeling in the air. Gia stirred, noting this
00:03:14
Speaker 1: special sensation tickling her atmosphere. Geia is the name of
00:03:21
Speaker 1: the Earth. She is a big, beautiful planet covered in
00:03:26
Speaker 1: sparkling seas and oceans in all different shades of blue.
00:03:32
Speaker 1: From space, you can spot her sandy golden deserts, silver
00:03:37
Speaker 1: rocky mountains, and green rolling hills. She's home to billions
00:03:42
Speaker 1: of lucky creatures koalas for one, fairies too, lamas, hedgehogs, bears,
00:03:50
Speaker 1: and dogs, even humans. On this special day, Gia sleepily
00:03:57
Speaker 1: blinked open her eyes, wriggled her nose, and took in
00:04:02
Speaker 1: a big, deep breath from her fresh atmosphere. She gazed
00:04:08
Speaker 1: out into space, marveling at the brightness of the stars,
00:04:13
Speaker 1: the deep, rich dark blue of the sky, and the
00:04:17
Speaker 1: shimmer of the satellites that floated overhead. As she looked out,
00:04:24
Speaker 1: a beautiful glowing sphere drifted into her vision. Oh, hello, Moon,
00:04:31
Speaker 1: she said. The moon greeted her kindly. The moon was
00:04:38
Speaker 1: a kind and serene character who watched over the Earth.
00:04:43
Speaker 1: He was never too far away, glowing softly in the sky.
00:04:50
Speaker 1: Sometimes light to day he appeared as a big glowing orb,
00:04:56
Speaker 1: or sometimes he took on a dainty crest and shape,
00:05:01
Speaker 1: coming to two neat points in the sky. He had kind,
00:05:07
Speaker 1: crinkly eyes and a long pointed nose. He had a
00:05:14
Speaker 1: wide still smile fixed on his face. Here and there
00:05:21
Speaker 1: craters were scattered across his surface, special dips and caves
00:05:27
Speaker 1: that beckoned you to explore them. Geia sniffed the air.
00:05:34
Speaker 1: Something is different today, Moon, Everything is still and calm
00:05:42
Speaker 1: and sleepy. It is so peaceful. The moon nodded. He said,
00:05:53
Speaker 1: here it is a special day. I think the creatures
00:05:57
Speaker 1: who live on my surface celebrating. I can see thousands
00:06:04
Speaker 1: of moon mice gathering together. They are decorating their orange
00:06:10
Speaker 1: fur with white flowers and spreading good cheer. I can
00:06:17
Speaker 1: hear them talking about kindness and wishing each other well. Morty,
00:06:24
Speaker 1: the mouse is preparing a banquet, Moon said. I can
00:06:30
Speaker 1: see shining platters of mac and moon cheese, gooey moon fondue,
00:06:38
Speaker 1: and fluffy moon soufles laid out on the tables. There
00:06:43
Speaker 1: are hundreds of chairs. He's carefully slicing a quadruple decad
00:06:49
Speaker 1: cheesecake into hundreds of pieces too. Each piece is decorated
00:06:57
Speaker 1: with a little mouse made of a gold pond and
00:07:01
Speaker 1: sparkling pipe cleaner. It looks delicious. He looked closer and
00:07:09
Speaker 1: described the scene. The mouse orchestra is beginning to warm
00:07:14
Speaker 1: up in the city square, blinking the piano and plunging
00:07:19
Speaker 1: the guitar strings. One particularly grand mouse is stood on
00:07:26
Speaker 1: the bandstand, warming up his voice, puffing up his chest
00:07:32
Speaker 1: and trilling out scales, Martha and Maggie. The mice are
00:07:38
Speaker 1: hanging silver banners onto the stand. They all have the
00:07:44
Speaker 1: word piece written on them in sparkly paint. The moon gasped, Ha,
00:07:53
Speaker 1: that's it. It's World Peace Day. The moon smile. The
00:08:01
Speaker 1: mice are spreading kindness all over the surface of the moon,
00:08:07
Speaker 1: he said, I can feel it glittering in the air.
00:08:13
Speaker 1: He's giving me a warm, tingly feeling. Guia was amazed.
00:08:21
Speaker 1: That was it. She could feel kindness in the air too.
00:08:27
Speaker 1: It was a day to celebrate the power of peace.
00:08:33
Speaker 1: She began dreaming of the magic of peace, of people
00:08:38
Speaker 1: playing together, dancing, sharing and spreading love. She looked out
00:08:45
Speaker 1: across space. It felt peace well out there too. She
00:08:51
Speaker 1: called to her neighbor Mars. Mars, can you feel that
00:08:58
Speaker 1: it's Peace Day? She said. Mars opened his big brown
00:09:05
Speaker 1: eyes and furrowed his big fury eyebrows in thought. Oh yes,
00:09:15
Speaker 1: he boomed in his gruff voice. He could feel it
00:09:20
Speaker 1: and see it too on his surface. Kindness was blowing
00:09:28
Speaker 1: on the soft breeze across the rocky deserts of Mars.
00:09:34
Speaker 1: Red dust was billowing up and floating on the wind,
00:09:40
Speaker 1: forming in shapes of love hearts drifting across the planet.
00:09:48
Speaker 1: There are lots of very peaceful little creatures living on Mars.
00:09:53
Speaker 1: They are called Martians. Martians are pink, fury little people
00:09:59
Speaker 1: with huge feet and four big kind eyes. They all
00:10:05
Speaker 1: have antennae on their heads. Some of the antennas stretched
00:10:10
Speaker 1: straight into the sky, some flop like bunny ears, some
00:10:15
Speaker 1: are curly, and some bend into the shapes of stars
00:10:19
Speaker 1: and moons. The Martians live in caves and craters, but
00:10:25
Speaker 1: they're often darting around above the surface too. They love
00:10:31
Speaker 1: Mars's wild winds, using them to go paragliding, windsurfing, and
00:10:38
Speaker 1: sand tobogganing too. Mars looked down upon the Martians and
00:10:44
Speaker 1: told Gaya what he saw today. On Peace Day, the
00:10:51
Speaker 1: little Martians had gathered at Mars's secret ice lake for
00:10:56
Speaker 1: a party. They had put on their rainbow leg warmers,
00:11:01
Speaker 1: multi colored puffer jackets, and fluffy earmuffs for the occasion.
00:11:07
Speaker 1: One little Martian by the name of Marty had brought
00:11:12
Speaker 1: his shiny new skates, but he had never ice skated before.
00:11:19
Speaker 1: His best friend, Margaret, was the best ice skater in
00:11:23
Speaker 1: their class, so she took him onto the ice and
00:11:27
Speaker 1: they began to glide across the surface of the frozen lake.
00:11:32
Speaker 1: Marty was unnatural, gracefully he made his way across the ice,
00:11:39
Speaker 1: whilst Margaret twirled and leapt around him. They carved beautiful
00:11:45
Speaker 1: shapes in the frozen lake, and their skates threw twinkling
00:11:50
Speaker 1: snowflakes into the air, each one totally unique and beautiful.
00:11:57
Speaker 1: Mars smiled he had seen such a peaceful scene. One
00:12:04
Speaker 1: by one, the Martians took to the ice, and they
00:12:08
Speaker 1: all spun and slid around together, making new friends and
00:12:14
Speaker 1: enjoying their home. One Martian mother was heating frothy milk
00:12:22
Speaker 1: over a fire and toasting gooey Mars mellows. The little
00:12:29
Speaker 1: ones were gobbling them up, getting sticky cheeks and fingers.
00:12:34
Speaker 1: The older Martians were waltzing on the dusty banks near
00:12:39
Speaker 1: the lake and laughing together. Guia thought this scene was beautiful.
00:12:47
Speaker 1: As she was dreaming about it, she heard a call
00:12:51
Speaker 1: from behind her and spun around on her axis. It
00:12:58
Speaker 1: was Venus. She was cooing to Earth and Mars, Hello, darlings,
00:13:06
Speaker 1: She called, can you feel the love in the air?
00:13:12
Speaker 1: Gire and Mars greeted her with a smile. Venus was
00:13:17
Speaker 1: such a lovely planet. She glowed with warmth from every
00:13:23
Speaker 1: inch of her orange surface. She had beautiful pink eyes,
00:13:29
Speaker 1: and her pupils with a shape of little love hearts.
00:13:34
Speaker 1: She had a cute little nose and a glittering smile,
00:13:38
Speaker 1: which made everybody happy when she beamed at them. Across space.
00:13:44
Speaker 1: Venus was a land of volcanoes. Her volcanoes were filled
00:13:50
Speaker 1: with warm, bubbly lava, which was rose scented, like the
00:13:55
Speaker 1: most soothing and welcoming bathwater. Her sky was colorful like
00:14:02
Speaker 1: a sunset. It was streaked with warm orange clouds which
00:14:10
Speaker 1: glowed with the sun's rays. There were no people living there,
00:14:16
Speaker 1: but millions of love bugs scuttled around on the surface.
00:14:21
Speaker 1: They were beautiful, jewel like bugs with smiling faces who
00:14:26
Speaker 1: were always fizzing with energy and singing out into the sky.
00:14:34
Speaker 1: Venus is covered in streams and rivers of her rose
00:14:38
Speaker 1: scented lava, which are home to many fuzzy, cuddly animals.
00:14:44
Speaker 1: They are very similar to Earth's otters in appearance, but
00:14:49
Speaker 1: much much fluffier, and their coats come in all the
00:14:54
Speaker 1: colors of the rainbow. Gaia asked Venus what her fury
00:15:00
Speaker 1: creatures were doing to celebrate this special day. Venus replied
00:15:07
Speaker 1: that they were floating down the longest stream of warm,
00:15:13
Speaker 1: bubbly lava on their backs, holding paws in a long,
00:15:19
Speaker 1: happy chain reaching all the way around the planet. The
00:15:27
Speaker 1: love bugs were gathering on the banks and dancing and
00:15:32
Speaker 1: singing love songs in their high pitched voices. Guia's heart
00:15:38
Speaker 1: felt even warmer than usual thinking of this image. Mercury
00:15:44
Speaker 1: was floating nearby listening to Venus's description. Picturing it, he
00:15:52
Speaker 1: sighed a happy sigh. Oh, good evening, Mercury. Guya said
00:16:00
Speaker 1: she hadn't realized Mercury was listening. He was such a
00:16:04
Speaker 1: sleepy planet, she thought he would be snoozing. Mercury wished
00:16:12
Speaker 1: them all a good evening. He said he had been
00:16:16
Speaker 1: awoken with a lovely feeling, the feeling of friendship blowing
00:16:22
Speaker 1: in his chest. He was a little planet who looked
00:16:27
Speaker 1: the size of an apple to Gia, but his surface
00:16:32
Speaker 1: shone a lovely silver color. He told the others about
00:16:37
Speaker 1: his special feeling. He felt that it was important that
00:16:42
Speaker 1: he told the other planets how happy he was that
00:16:45
Speaker 1: they were his friends. This made the other planets very pleased.
00:16:52
Speaker 1: Guya's cheeks blushed pink Mercury called out to Saturn and Jupiter, Neptune, Urinus,
00:17:04
Speaker 1: and little Pluto and told them how happy he felt.
00:17:08
Speaker 1: That they hung in the air too, like glowing ball
00:17:12
Speaker 1: balls in a twinkling expanse of space. Jupiter smiled his wide,
00:17:20
Speaker 1: toothy grin. Jupiter was ginormous. He had a beautiful light
00:17:29
Speaker 1: marbled surface like a seashell, and big golden eyes which
00:17:35
Speaker 1: looked like two suns radiating from his face. He told
00:17:40
Speaker 1: the others that he felt the same. What a special day.
00:17:47
Speaker 1: Guia asked what the inhabitants of Jupiter were doing to
00:17:52
Speaker 1: celebrate this peaceful day. Jupiter looked down at his surface.
00:18:00
Speaker 1: Is an especially warm planet, with seas of molten gold
00:18:05
Speaker 1: bubbling under its surface. The warmth heats the ground so
00:18:12
Speaker 1: that it is toasty underfoot. The air is very special
00:18:16
Speaker 1: on Jupiter. It is shiny and twinkling, as if it
00:18:22
Speaker 1: is full of golden glitter. The light there is very
00:18:27
Speaker 1: golden too. It is so beautiful that all of the
00:18:33
Speaker 1: creatures who live there are especially happy and calm. The
00:18:40
Speaker 1: main inhabitants of Jupiter are big, furry mammoths. The mammoths
00:18:46
Speaker 1: have big tusks made of gold and shimmering blue fur.
00:18:52
Speaker 1: They have long trunks which they use to eat the delicious,
00:18:57
Speaker 1: juicy fruits that grow from jupiter a tropical trees. The
00:19:03
Speaker 1: mammoths are incredibly peaceful animals. Their favorite activity is plodding
00:19:11
Speaker 1: through the trees and napping, which they do often. They
00:19:17
Speaker 1: nap sprawled together in clearings, soaking in the warmth from
00:19:22
Speaker 1: the ground. They also like playing card games and reading
00:19:28
Speaker 1: stories to one another. Jupiter told the other planets that
00:19:33
Speaker 1: today the mammoths were reading a story about peace. Grandpa
00:19:40
Speaker 1: Mammoth was sitting on a big, wide tree stump, and
00:19:45
Speaker 1: all of the baby mammoths were sitting cross legged around him.
00:19:50
Speaker 1: They each clutched a cup of foamy hot chocolate, which
00:19:55
Speaker 1: they sipped through their long, fluffy trunks. Grandpa Mammoth flapped
00:20:02
Speaker 1: his big, billowing ears and began the story. He told
00:20:08
Speaker 1: a beautiful tale about friendship. In the story, a very
00:20:15
Speaker 1: grumpy mammoth called Bruno was grumbling all day long. He
00:20:22
Speaker 1: had silver tusks, not gold like all of his friends,
00:20:27
Speaker 1: and it made him feel very left out. He was
00:20:32
Speaker 1: always quarreling with the other little mammoths, and he never
00:20:37
Speaker 1: shared his toys. One day, a very kind little mammoth
00:20:43
Speaker 1: called Billy befriended Bruno despite his prickly nature. She showed
00:20:51
Speaker 1: him the power of love with her kindness and told
00:20:55
Speaker 1: him that no matter the color of his tusks, if
00:20:59
Speaker 1: he showed people his kindness too, everybody would love him
00:21:05
Speaker 1: just the way he was. She was right. Bruno began
00:21:11
Speaker 1: sharing his toys and being kind to the other mammoths,
00:21:17
Speaker 1: and they loved him in return. He was so happy
00:21:23
Speaker 1: with his new friendships that his fur glowed and twinkled
00:21:27
Speaker 1: with love, and he became the most popular mammoth of all.
00:21:35
Speaker 1: It was a lovely story of peace and friendship. As
00:21:41
Speaker 1: Grandpa told his story, the birds flying through the glittering
00:21:46
Speaker 1: sky began to settle in the trees around their heads.
00:21:53
Speaker 1: They were beautiful creatures with shiny feathers in blue, green,
00:22:00
Speaker 1: and read and long gold beaks. They all twittered and
00:22:07
Speaker 1: tweeted whilst listening to the story, cozying in amongst the trees.
00:22:15
Speaker 1: One by one, every animal slipped into a peaceful snooze
00:22:22
Speaker 1: until they were all snoring in harmony. Even Grandpa Mammoth
00:22:30
Speaker 1: drifted off, his voice becoming slower and slower until his
00:22:38
Speaker 1: chin bobbed down and he fell asleep, still upright with
00:22:45
Speaker 1: the book in his hands. Guia laughed, what peaceful sleepy
00:22:52
Speaker 1: animals Saturn giggled and batted her eyelashes. Saturn was a
00:23:02
Speaker 1: very bubbly planet, full of laughter and energy. She was
00:23:08
Speaker 1: a lovely sandy color with stripes around her center. She
00:23:13
Speaker 1: wore a huge glittering ring which looped around her tummy
00:23:19
Speaker 1: like a hula hoop. Saturn had big brown eyes with
00:23:25
Speaker 1: thick eyelashes, a wide nose, and pink lips which were
00:23:30
Speaker 1: always giggling. She thought the mammoth sleepy scene sounded beautiful,
00:23:39
Speaker 1: but it couldn't be further from the fun chaos that
00:23:43
Speaker 1: was happening on her planet. Saturn's inhabitants were celebrating peace
00:23:50
Speaker 1: with a party. Saturn is populated by giants. They look
00:23:58
Speaker 1: like humans, but with big pointy ears and huge wide feet.
00:24:06
Speaker 1: They are very joyful giants who bound over Saturn's fields
00:24:12
Speaker 1: laughing together. They lived in white canvas tents all together
00:24:20
Speaker 1: in vast open spaces under the stars. They would often
00:24:26
Speaker 1: stay up all night, playing twinkly music and discussing which
00:24:31
Speaker 1: creature each constellation most looked like they had charted the sky,
00:24:38
Speaker 1: drawing a map of the stars and joining them dot
00:24:42
Speaker 1: to dot to create pictures of dragons, centaurs, fairies, and more.
00:24:51
Speaker 1: They dress in flowing spacesilk of all colors and patterns.
00:24:59
Speaker 1: They wear sparkling jewels around their necks and flowers in
00:25:04
Speaker 1: their long flowing hair. They love running and dancing, and
00:25:11
Speaker 1: are always barefoot. Saturn described the scene that was happening
00:25:19
Speaker 1: on her surface. The giants were having a fabulous party.
00:25:27
Speaker 1: They were eating fruit sandwiches and chocolate pudding and dancing together.
00:25:34
Speaker 1: They pounded on big drums and hooted on saxophones and
00:25:40
Speaker 1: squawked on trumpets. They wooked and danced, swinging one another
00:25:48
Speaker 1: around with their strong arms. Some of the braver giants
00:25:55
Speaker 1: even took a rocket up to the big ring that
00:25:59
Speaker 1: circled called Saturn, and was sliding around and around, whizzing
00:26:06
Speaker 1: through space and giggling with glee. They were having an
00:26:12
Speaker 1: amazing time. They were such fun loving giants. Neptune shortled
00:26:20
Speaker 1: at this image. Neptune was large and blue, with wispy
00:26:26
Speaker 1: white hair and a little mustache. He had wise silver
00:26:32
Speaker 1: eyes and a nobbly nose. He was very kind and grandfatherly,
00:26:39
Speaker 1: and although he was the quietest of the planet, he
00:26:44
Speaker 1: was very beloved. On his planet, the beings were teeny
00:26:51
Speaker 1: weeny little people who lived in burrows like mice. He
00:26:58
Speaker 1: told the others that they were celebrating Peace Day with
00:27:02
Speaker 1: their families, each tucked up in their burrow. The burrows
00:27:09
Speaker 1: were very cozy. They were usually furnished with carefully carved
00:27:15
Speaker 1: wooden tables and cabinets, and big squishy sofas covered in
00:27:22
Speaker 1: patchwork quilts. The little people were playing board games and
00:27:28
Speaker 1: eating from plates piled high with mashed potato and gravy.
00:27:36
Speaker 1: The children were playing with little wooden toys, and the
00:27:40
Speaker 1: grown ups were watching fondly and drinking warm mugs of
00:27:46
Speaker 1: tea as they all smiled at this image, Gaya noticed
00:27:53
Speaker 1: little Pluto in the distance. He was always zooming around
00:27:59
Speaker 1: on him orbit. She called out to him and he
00:28:04
Speaker 1: slowed down to say hello. Pluto wasn't technically a planet,
00:28:11
Speaker 1: as he was so small, but he was no less
00:28:14
Speaker 1: of a friend. Pluto greeted the other planets with a smile.
00:28:21
Speaker 1: He was always very busy, flying through the sky and
00:28:26
Speaker 1: running rings around the sun. Gia liked it when they
00:28:32
Speaker 1: crossed paths. Because Pluto was such a fun loving, cheeky
00:28:39
Speaker 1: little fellow. He had happy purple eyes and freckles on
00:28:45
Speaker 1: his nose. He had little, tiny ears and a big
00:28:51
Speaker 1: excitable grin. Gia asked Pluto what he had seen on
00:28:58
Speaker 1: his journey to day. Pluto said he saw meteors dancing
00:29:05
Speaker 1: in the sky, moving much slower than usual, drifting in
00:29:12
Speaker 1: beautiful formations. He said they gleamed brightly as they danced,
00:29:19
Speaker 1: lighting up the sky. He said he saw two comets too.
00:29:27
Speaker 1: Usually comets would be streaking through the sky, trailing beautiful
00:29:34
Speaker 1: golden light behind them. To day, they had slowed down
00:29:40
Speaker 1: and sat amongst the stars, side by side, enjoying the quiet.
00:29:47
Speaker 1: Pluto said, nobody was hurrying to day. Even the astronauts
00:29:54
Speaker 1: in the space station were taking a day off. They
00:29:59
Speaker 1: were playing wor bird games and drawing pictures, wrapped up
00:30:04
Speaker 1: in their blankets with their fuzzy socks. On Urinus, a
00:30:12
Speaker 1: bright green planet who wore an emerald ring, spoke up
00:30:17
Speaker 1: at this. Not all of the astronauts a resting, he said, happily,
00:30:27
Speaker 1: some have just landed on my surface. He described these astronauts.
00:30:35
Speaker 1: They had come whizzing through space from a far away
00:30:40
Speaker 1: galaxy and landed their shiny little rockets on Urinus's icy surface.
00:30:50
Speaker 1: They looked like little Arctic foxes, with huge ears and
00:30:56
Speaker 1: a white fur which blended perfectly into the snow. They
00:31:04
Speaker 1: would be invisible if it weren't for their love of
00:31:08
Speaker 1: jazzy wooly jumpers. The only thing that marked them as
00:31:13
Speaker 1: aliens was their noses, which were glittery red and in
00:31:19
Speaker 1: the shape of a perfect love heart. The little aliens
00:31:25
Speaker 1: dismounted from their rocket and cheered together, marveling at the
00:31:31
Speaker 1: icy mountains and fluffy snow around them. Happy to be
00:31:37
Speaker 1: in their new home. They were led by a brave
00:31:42
Speaker 1: little fellow called Milo. Milo sniffed the air with his
00:31:47
Speaker 1: love heart nose, listened to the breeze with his large
00:31:52
Speaker 1: pointed ears, and pointed with his padded paw to the
00:31:58
Speaker 1: ideal location for their first town. The others followed him,
00:32:06
Speaker 1: and they set about building igloos. Once hundreds of little
00:32:12
Speaker 1: igloos had been built, they began unloading their suitcases from
00:32:18
Speaker 1: the rockets. They had brought fluffy rugs, soft blankets, and
00:32:25
Speaker 1: embroidered pillows with them to make their dens. Extra comfy
00:32:32
Speaker 1: and cozy. They unpacked several never ending candles, which they
00:32:39
Speaker 1: hung from their doorways, lighting their homes with a warm
00:32:45
Speaker 1: orange glow. When they were done, they gathered together for
00:32:51
Speaker 1: their first meal. They ate peppery potato soup in a big,
00:32:58
Speaker 1: snugly crowd, and then tucked into their dessert of chocolate
00:33:05
Speaker 1: biscuits dunked in hot milk. Milo stood up and tapped
00:33:13
Speaker 1: his biscuit against his mug to get everyone's attention. He
00:33:20
Speaker 1: was going to make a speech. He wished everyone a
00:33:26
Speaker 1: happy peace Day and welcomed them to their new home.
00:33:33
Speaker 1: He said he could feel that they were going to
00:33:36
Speaker 1: live happily and peacefully there forever, exploring the ice caves
00:33:43
Speaker 1: and swimming in the cool lagoons. They all cheered. Uranus
00:33:51
Speaker 1: described this with happy tears in his green eyes. Gia
00:33:59
Speaker 1: was so pleased for him. Urin Us had always looked
00:34:04
Speaker 1: forward to the day that creatures would begin to live
00:34:08
Speaker 1: on his planet, and here they were on Peace Day.
00:34:14
Speaker 1: She was sure that that was a sign that they
00:34:18
Speaker 1: would live there happily forever and ever. Gia smiled. Everyone
00:34:27
Speaker 1: was different, all across the Solar system, but they were
00:34:34
Speaker 1: all at peace. She looked inwardly, now how lucky she was.
00:34:43
Speaker 1: She loved each one of the creatures who called her
00:34:47
Speaker 1: planet home. There were more people on Earth celebrating love
00:34:54
Speaker 1: and peace than she could possibly count. There was sleepy
00:35:00
Speaker 1: children cozy in their beds listening to stories. There were
00:35:07
Speaker 1: dogs snuggled up in kennels, and cats curled up in balls,
00:35:15
Speaker 1: little bunnies in their burrows, and squirrels in their trees.
00:35:21
Speaker 1: Gia turned her eyes to her favorite place to observe
00:35:27
Speaker 1: sleepy forest. There were so many creatures there celebrating their friendships.
00:35:35
Speaker 1: There was a family of koalas dancing in their kitchen.
00:35:41
Speaker 1: A big cuddly bear cup was singing a special lullaby
00:35:47
Speaker 1: to her family as her parents watched on proudly. There
00:35:53
Speaker 1: was some little orange foxes playing happily in their den.
00:36:01
Speaker 1: There was even a family of teddy bears eating from
00:36:06
Speaker 1: a wicker picnic basket. The nocturnal animals were just beginning
00:36:13
Speaker 1: to wake up, ready to have a little party themselves.
00:36:19
Speaker 1: Fairy lights hung from the trees in a wide clearing,
00:36:24
Speaker 1: sending their warm glow into the sky. Badgers were hanging
00:36:31
Speaker 1: bunting from tree to tree, and frogs were hopping around
00:36:37
Speaker 1: rehearsing a dance. A comforting chatter was floating into the air,
00:36:45
Speaker 1: and Guya smiled. It was sure to be a peaceful
00:36:52
Speaker 1: night too. She looked out across the ocean. It was
00:36:58
Speaker 1: very still, apart from a few gentle waves lapping quietly
00:37:05
Speaker 1: on the sand. There were starfish snoozing in the shallows,
00:37:12
Speaker 1: and one very zen looking pufferfish floating towards the surface
00:37:19
Speaker 1: with his eyes closed. He looked especially peaceful. Gia supposed
00:37:28
Speaker 1: he must be meditating. Far out to sea. A blue
00:37:35
Speaker 1: whale was laid on his back dozing. His skin was
00:37:41
Speaker 1: like pale blue velvet, and his tail bobbed up and
00:37:47
Speaker 1: down in the current. Little bubbles escaped from his blow
00:37:53
Speaker 1: hole as he snored, floating up to pop on the surface.
00:38:02
Speaker 1: All of these peaceful scenes had made Guia feel warm
00:38:08
Speaker 1: and cozy, so much so that she let out a yawn.
00:38:17
Speaker 1: She looked out at space and began to snuggle into
00:38:22
Speaker 1: the blanket of the sky. A shooting star dashed across
00:38:30
Speaker 1: the sky. She looked out at her friends Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus,
00:38:47
Speaker 1: and little Pluto. What a lovely world she lived in.
00:38:55
Speaker 1: She turned and looked at the huge gold knob of
00:38:59
Speaker 1: the sun, which always warmed her back as she slept.
00:39:05
Speaker 1: The Sun was watching her with a gentle smile on
00:39:10
Speaker 1: her face. Good Night Geia, the sun said. Good Night, Son,
00:39:21
Speaker 1: Geia said, before drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
