00:01:12

Speaker 1: love this story because it's a very very special one

00:01:15

Speaker 1: featuring not only my special pet you know who she is,

00:01:20

Speaker 1: but also the pets of some of our subscribers. Yeah,

00:01:23

Speaker 1: you lot, that's right. Over the months We've had so

00:01:26

Speaker 1: many messages from you asking to put your pets into

00:01:29

Speaker 1: a story that we've only gone and done it. Tonight.

00:01:32

Speaker 1: We're heading off with Hector and of course Sonny to

00:01:35

Speaker 1: doggie daycare, where they are going to meet a whole

00:01:40

Speaker 1: lot of your fluffy little friends. So jump into bed

00:01:45

Speaker 1: and get ready to listen really well, just in case

00:01:48

Speaker 1: your pet is there. Relax and stretch. Perhaps take some

00:01:53

Speaker 1: nice slow breaths to get you in a nice snoozy mood. Okay,

00:01:59

Speaker 1: I'm ready if you. This is Hector and Sonny's Doggie

00:02:03

Speaker 1: Daycare by Susannah McLoughlin. It was a warm late summer's day,

00:02:15

Speaker 1: and the wheat in the field behind Hector's house was

00:02:18

Speaker 1: swaying to and fro as fluffy clouds drifted gently across

00:02:24

Speaker 1: the sky, morphing into shapes that looked to Hector to

00:02:27

Speaker 1: be bones and gravy boats and chew toys. Hector's owner

00:02:33

Speaker 1: came downstairs wearing a suit and tie, with his hair

00:02:37

Speaker 1: combed and shoes polished. Hector went to rub his big

00:02:41

Speaker 1: fairy head against his owner's leg in an attempt to

00:02:44

Speaker 1: tell him how dashing he looked, but his owner swiftly

00:02:48

Speaker 1: jumped out of reach. Oh watch it, buddy, he said,

00:02:52

Speaker 1: you know the bride is allergic to fur. If I

00:02:55

Speaker 1: go to the wedding with hairs on my trousers, she'll

00:02:58

Speaker 1: be sneezing through this. Serah. Hector smiled sheepishly and backed off.

00:03:04

Speaker 1: Good boy, his owner said, are you ready to go?

00:03:09

Speaker 1: He headed outside, Hector trotting a few steps behind him.

00:03:13

Speaker 1: He towsled the hair on Hector's head as he stepped

00:03:16

Speaker 1: out onto the driveway, saying he couldn't resist and he'd

00:03:20

Speaker 1: washed his hands carefully before he got there. Hector's owner

00:03:24

Speaker 1: was going to a wedding out of town. He would

00:03:27

Speaker 1: have loved to bring his pooch along, as usually he

00:03:30

Speaker 1: brought Hector everywhere, but the bride had allergies, which meant

00:03:34

Speaker 1: dogs made her sneeze and sneeze and sneeze. So Hector

00:03:39

Speaker 1: was spending the day and night at doggie daycare. Luckily,

00:03:43

Speaker 1: his best friend, Sonny's owner was going to the wedding too,

00:03:47

Speaker 1: they'd be at daycare together. Not long after Hector hopped

00:03:53

Speaker 1: into the trunk, Sonny hopped up beside him, ears swinging

00:03:57

Speaker 1: and eyes sparkling. Owner got in the front seat, wearing

00:04:02

Speaker 1: a lovely silky dress. Hey, Hector, Sonny said, after Doggie

00:04:08

Speaker 1: Daycare we go. What do you think he'll be like?

00:04:12

Speaker 1: Hector scratches his head. I don't know, Sonny. Hopefully there

00:04:19

Speaker 1: are toys and food and places to nap. That's all

00:04:25

Speaker 1: I need. Really, As long as it's not like the vet,

00:04:30

Speaker 1: I'll probably enjoy it. I'm not a fan of standing

00:04:34

Speaker 1: on that cold table getting prodded, although the treat at

00:04:37

Speaker 1: the end is pretty nice. I'm sure there'll be less

00:04:41

Speaker 1: prodding and more treats at daycare, Sonny said. And maybe,

00:04:47

Speaker 1: just maybe we might make some new friends. Oh do

00:04:50

Speaker 1: you think we will, hector? Hector grinned and sniffed the

00:04:55

Speaker 1: air well. It smell a little bit like magic out there.

00:05:03

Speaker 1: Maybe Sydney will magic up some friends for us to

00:05:07

Speaker 1: play with. Do you think he could? Sonny looked out

00:05:11

Speaker 1: the window at the trees flying past and saw a

00:05:14

Speaker 1: flash of silver that looked rather familiar. She could swear

00:05:19

Speaker 1: the fuzzy figure of their magic squirrel friend, who was

00:05:22

Speaker 1: giving them a thumbs up. I think so, she said,

00:05:27

Speaker 1: with a little grin. When they pulled up to Doggie Daycare,

00:05:32

Speaker 1: the dogs jumped out of the car with wagging tails.

00:05:35

Speaker 1: They ran in through the revolving door and found themselves

00:05:39

Speaker 1: in a dog's dream. As their owners sorted out the

00:05:44

Speaker 1: human things at the desk, like money and other such nonsense.

00:05:48

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny waited by the entrance to the daycare,

00:05:51

Speaker 1: practically vibrating with excitement. Through the glass door, they could

00:05:57

Speaker 1: see loads of dogs running awad having fun, snoozing and

00:06:02

Speaker 1: gobbling treats. Her voice came down from the desk, and

00:06:07

Speaker 1: they looked up to see a beautiful little fish peering

00:06:10

Speaker 1: at them through its fishbowl. Hey, guys, welcome, I'm FISHI

00:06:17

Speaker 1: chief receptionist and official. Welcome her to doggie daycare. He

00:06:22

Speaker 1: flapped a fin at the human sat behind the desk

00:06:25

Speaker 1: talking to their owners. I mean, officially that's Marjorie's job,

00:06:30

Speaker 1: but I think of myself as her partner behind those doors.

00:06:37

Speaker 1: Your dreams are about to come true. Are you ready?

00:06:43

Speaker 1: The dogs nodded. It's nearly time, FIESI said, say goodbye

00:06:50

Speaker 1: to your owners and head on in. Their owners kissed

00:06:56

Speaker 1: them on the snouts and said they'd see them very soon,

00:07:00

Speaker 1: and that they should enjoy themselves and look after one another.

00:07:05

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny both gave them wide eyed looks that

00:07:09

Speaker 1: they hoped showed them that they would. Their owners waved

00:07:13

Speaker 1: as they trotted through into the large room where dogs

00:07:16

Speaker 1: of all species and sizes were playing. There were so

00:07:21

Speaker 1: many dogs, big ones, little ones, fluffy ones, wiry ones.

00:07:28

Speaker 1: There were dogs of black, white, ginger, and a combination

00:07:32

Speaker 1: of them all. It was wonderful. As they watched the scene,

00:07:39

Speaker 1: jaws open in wonder, a puppy barreled into them, chasing

00:07:43

Speaker 1: a tennis ball. A Golden retriever who looked just like

00:07:47

Speaker 1: Hector was hot on his tail. The golden retriever helped

00:07:51

Speaker 1: the three dogs to their feet, pulling them from their

00:07:54

Speaker 1: giggling tangle on the floor. Lucky, the retriever said, you

00:08:00

Speaker 1: dark clumsy. The little caramel colored puppy giggled and said

00:08:05

Speaker 1: sorry he was indeed. Hector and Sonny laughed, I am

00:08:11

Speaker 1: too sometimes, Hector said. Hector looked over at the other

00:08:17

Speaker 1: retriever and gasped. It was just like looking in a mirror,

00:08:23

Speaker 1: except his collar red Buddy, another Golden Retriever just like

00:08:29

Speaker 1: him body. Hector said, are we twins? Buddy strew his

00:08:37

Speaker 1: floppy ears back and laughed before saying no, he didn't

00:08:41

Speaker 1: think so. They were just the same breed. Buddy whistled,

00:08:45

Speaker 1: and from the back of the room, two more dogs

00:08:48

Speaker 1: trotted in their direction. Hector raised his fluffy eyebrows. One

00:08:54

Speaker 1: of the two looked exactly like him and Buddy, but

00:08:57

Speaker 1: she was a girl, and the other looked almost the same,

00:09:02

Speaker 1: but she had curly hair. I'm Daisy, the curly haired

00:09:06

Speaker 1: one said, I'm a golden doodle, so just like you,

00:09:11

Speaker 1: but some of my ancestors are poodles, hence the duke.

00:09:16

Speaker 1: She flipped her hair. I'm Zady, the girl golden retriever said.

00:09:21

Speaker 1: We make quite the gang, don't we. We look so

00:09:25

Speaker 1: alike we could get up to all kinds of high jinks.

00:09:30

Speaker 1: Hector giggled his head, coming up with all kinds of

00:09:34

Speaker 1: pranks to play. Lucky the Caramel pop shared a glance

00:09:39

Speaker 1: with Sonny that suggested this could only mean trouble. They

00:09:44

Speaker 1: giggled and changed the conversation before the golden dog's mischievous

00:09:48

Speaker 1: plans could get underway. Do you see that dog over there,

00:09:53

Speaker 1: Sonny asked, gesturing to the far corner with the poor

00:09:57

Speaker 1: She looks like a mix between you me, Hecter the

00:10:02

Speaker 1: dog sees Sonny pointing and pads over. I'm Frantie, she said,

00:10:08

Speaker 1: half Golden Retriever, half spaniel. That's why I look like

00:10:13

Speaker 1: you guys. Hector and Sonny chuckle to see what they'd

00:10:17

Speaker 1: look like mixed together. Is it your first time here,

00:10:23

Speaker 1: Frantie asked Hector and Sonny nodded. Zady grinned, so you've

00:10:31

Speaker 1: never tried the digging room, or you've never been to

00:10:35

Speaker 1: the spa. Sonny's eyes widened. There's a spa, Buddy nodded.

00:10:44

Speaker 1: How do you think we all look so fluffy? The

00:10:49

Speaker 1: doggy day care spa is the best canine care center

00:10:52

Speaker 1: in the world. Daisy grinned. They make my curls go

00:10:57

Speaker 1: so bouncy, she said, and the belly rubs amazing. Lucky

00:11:04

Speaker 1: the pup nodded dreamily. I love cuddles, he said, gazing

00:11:10

Speaker 1: off towards the ceiling, Where is the spar Hector asked,

00:11:16

Speaker 1: and Frantie said she'd guide him there. They followed their

00:11:20

Speaker 1: new friend down the corridor towards delicious, calming scents of

00:11:25

Speaker 1: flowers and sounds of running water and soothing music. The

00:11:30

Speaker 1: air seemed to get warmer, and the dogs began to

00:11:34

Speaker 1: feel more relaxed, even before they'd even stepped to pour

00:11:38

Speaker 1: into the spar itself. By the entrance was an older

00:11:43

Speaker 1: looking dog who was shuffling into a pair of slippers.

00:11:47

Speaker 1: He gave them a kind smile. Hey, Gus, Frantie said,

00:11:53

Speaker 1: these puts an you. You want to show them the spa.

00:11:57

Speaker 1: Gus nodded. It my favorite part of the whole daycare,

00:12:04

Speaker 1: he said. Gus gave them fluffy, white toweled robes to

00:12:09

Speaker 1: put on, just like the one he was wearing, and

00:12:12

Speaker 1: little white slippers. He gave them a couple of slices

00:12:16

Speaker 1: of cucumbers that he said they could put on their

00:12:19

Speaker 1: eyes whilst they relaxed. Unfortunately, by the time he finished

00:12:23

Speaker 1: his sentence, Hector had a rather guilty look on his face.

00:12:28

Speaker 1: He'd gobbled his cucumbers the second he was handed them.

00:12:32

Speaker 1: Gus chuckled and gave him some replacements to slip in

00:12:35

Speaker 1: his pocket. Inside the spa, the lighting was soft, rich

00:12:41

Speaker 1: blue that made them feel calm and sleepy. Around a

00:12:46

Speaker 1: central pool, there were sun lounges holding snoozing dogs who

00:12:51

Speaker 1: had cucumbers on their eyes and towels wrapped around their

00:12:55

Speaker 1: heads and jacuzzi bubbled in the corner, and several rooms

00:13:01

Speaker 1: branched off into other parts of the spa. Here we are,

00:13:07

Speaker 1: Gus said, Doggie days spa. Don't you feel relaxed? His

00:13:15

Speaker 1: eyes were half closed and he had a sleepy smile

00:13:19

Speaker 1: on his face. What do you want to do? I'm

00:13:24

Speaker 1: going for a soak in the jacuzzi. There are treatments

00:13:29

Speaker 1: in the other rooms. If you want one, you can

00:13:32

Speaker 1: talk to Zoe. Here, a chocolate labrador was sitting behind

00:13:37

Speaker 1: a small desk covered in delicious smelling soaps. She smiled

00:13:44

Speaker 1: at them and her chocolate button eyes sparkled. Let's do

00:13:50

Speaker 1: a treatment. Sonny squealed in excitement. Gus grinned and wished

00:13:56

Speaker 1: them a relaxing time before sinking into the bubbling pool

00:14:01

Speaker 1: and putting his paws behind his head. He was the

00:14:06

Speaker 1: picture of relaxation. Zoe, the kind labrador, welcomed Hector and

00:14:13

Speaker 1: Sonny and asked what they'd like to do. She read

00:14:16

Speaker 1: them all the different services before recommending they go with

00:14:20

Speaker 1: a full doggie pamper. She grinned and said that's what

00:14:25

Speaker 1: she always chose on her days off. Hector and Sonny

00:14:29

Speaker 1: said that please, and Zoe led them into a treatment

00:14:33

Speaker 1: room where there were two big white beds ready for

00:14:36

Speaker 1: them to lay on. The dogs stretched out bellies in

00:14:41

Speaker 1: the air, and Hector put his cucumber slices on his eyes.

00:14:47

Speaker 1: Oh this is the life, hey, Sonny, he sighed. Sonny

00:14:53

Speaker 1: murmured her agreement. A couple of dogs entered the room

00:14:58

Speaker 1: wearing smart Lilacs uniforms. They both spoke with soothing Kiwi

00:15:04

Speaker 1: accents that made the pups feel even more relaxed. I'm Jovie,

00:15:11

Speaker 1: the first said, and I'm Ginny, the second added. Jovie

00:15:18

Speaker 1: and Ginny began by giving Hector and Sunny massages, rubbing

00:15:23

Speaker 1: their bellies and scratching behind their ears. Then they painted

00:15:27

Speaker 1: their claws on all four paws. Sonny picked silver nail

00:15:32

Speaker 1: polish in honor of Sydney the Silver Squirrel, and Hector

00:15:37

Speaker 1: chose red to match his neckerchief. Next, they led them

00:15:42

Speaker 1: into a large area with warm, bubbling barths, where they

00:15:45

Speaker 1: were shampooed until they were covered in frothy, sweet smelling bubbles. Finally,

00:15:52

Speaker 1: after a rinse in a waterfall shower that smelt like lavender,

00:15:57

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny were dried under warm hair dryers special

00:16:02

Speaker 1: soundless ones that were designed with dogs in mind. The

00:16:07

Speaker 1: two felt so relaxed afterwards that it felt like their

00:16:12

Speaker 1: legs were floppy. They puddled onto a couple of sun

00:16:17

Speaker 1: lounges by the pool and grinned at Jovie and Ginny,

00:16:20

Speaker 1: who were grinning right back at them. I feel well

00:16:26

Speaker 1: and truly pampered, Sonny said. Jovie and Ginny said they

00:16:31

Speaker 1: were welcome. In the sun lounger next to theirs, a

00:16:36

Speaker 1: big furry black dog yawned. She reached out her pow

00:16:41

Speaker 1: to shake. My name is Katya, she said. I'd love

00:16:48

Speaker 1: to chat with you guys, but I'm so relaxed. I ooh,

00:16:55

Speaker 1: I think I'm going to have to take a nap

00:16:59

Speaker 1: right here. Cattier's yawn was contagious. First Hector yawned, then

00:17:08

Speaker 1: Sunny yawned, and soon all three yawned together. Hector and

00:17:16

Speaker 1: Sonny decided they'd join Catya on her nap. After a

00:17:23

Speaker 1: long snooze by the pool side, Hector and Sonny were

00:17:27

Speaker 1: awoken by the sound of a splash. They opened their

00:17:31

Speaker 1: eyes and yawned to see a pup doggie paddling around

00:17:35

Speaker 1: the spa pool, panting happily. Ha hey, you two, the

00:17:41

Speaker 1: pooch said, with an infectious smile, Am Rizzo. Hector and

00:17:47

Speaker 1: Sonny grinned, stretched and introduced themselves. You guys, and you

00:17:53

Speaker 1: around here. Rizzo said, so you've never been to the

00:17:58

Speaker 1: digging room. Hector and Sonny shook their heads. Well, we

00:18:05

Speaker 1: have to change that. The dog climbed out of the

00:18:09

Speaker 1: pool and shook the water of its fluffy fur. Rizzo

00:18:14

Speaker 1: strutted out of the spa and across the main room

00:18:17

Speaker 1: to a new area through a door whose sign showed

00:18:20

Speaker 1: a picture of a diggatoy. Hector and Sonny couldn't believe

00:18:25

Speaker 1: their eyes. The whole room was covered with sand, absolutely covered.

00:18:32

Speaker 1: There were little pails here and there filled with shovels,

00:18:36

Speaker 1: and a smiling pop in the corner was making a

00:18:39

Speaker 1: sand castle. The name tag on Pop's collar read Moonpie.

00:18:46

Speaker 1: Moonpie smiled at them dreamily and waggled a paw before

00:18:51

Speaker 1: focusing back on the piles of sand stretching up into

00:18:55

Speaker 1: the sky in front of them. Rizzo didn't want sandy paws,

00:19:00

Speaker 1: so they said, there see you, laters, and Rizzo trotted

00:19:03

Speaker 1: back towards the spa. Hector and Sonny gazed across the

00:19:09

Speaker 1: humongous sand bit In the corner was a large hole.

00:19:14

Speaker 1: The two dogs wandered over and peered over the edge.

00:19:18

Speaker 1: At its bottom, digging contentedly in the sand was a

00:19:22

Speaker 1: brown mutt with a shiny black nose and cute little whiskers.

00:19:28

Speaker 1: Hector squinted down at his collar, which read Baxter. Hey, Baxter,

00:19:34

Speaker 1: Hector said, you're very good at digging. My friend Sonny

00:19:39

Speaker 1: here loves digging. Baxter grinned up at Sonny, who smiled bashfully.

00:19:46

Speaker 1: This is an amazing hole. She said, have you found anything?

00:19:53

Speaker 1: Baxter grinned and said yes, he'd found four treats. He

00:19:58

Speaker 1: explained that the the sand in the digging room has

00:20:01

Speaker 1: treats hidden inside, and if you dig, dig, dig, you

00:20:05

Speaker 1: can find them as a reward. He said he'd be

00:20:08

Speaker 1: digging anyway though, treats or no treats. After all, it's

00:20:12

Speaker 1: so much fun. He said. One day he thought he

00:20:16

Speaker 1: might dig all the way to the center of the earth.

00:20:20

Speaker 1: Sonny chuckled. She said that that was her dream once too.

00:20:24

Speaker 1: Then someone told her it was extremely hot down there,

00:20:28

Speaker 1: like molten lava hot. So now she thought she'd just

00:20:32

Speaker 1: dig to Antarctica instead. Baxter grinned and said if she

00:20:37

Speaker 1: ever embarked on that adventure, he wanted to come along.

00:20:41

Speaker 1: The two shook paws in agreement. Hector said he'd be

00:20:45

Speaker 1: chilling on a tropical beach instead. Moonby giggled from across

00:20:50

Speaker 1: the room and agreed with Hector. The dog settled into

00:20:54

Speaker 1: the sand and Sonny began digging her own little hole,

00:20:58

Speaker 1: and Hector his own sand castle with a tower and

00:21:02

Speaker 1: turrets and everything. Before long, a tinkling bell rang and

00:21:07

Speaker 1: Moonpie grinned it's dinner time. All of the dogs piled

00:21:14

Speaker 1: back into the main room, where rows and rows of

00:21:18

Speaker 1: doggie bowls were lined up, each with a name on

00:21:21

Speaker 1: the side. Hector and Sonny found theirs and sat down

00:21:26

Speaker 1: ready to eat. Across from them sat a black and

00:21:30

Speaker 1: white dog whose bowl read Ollie. There was Merle, and

00:21:34

Speaker 1: also Zoe, who looked like siblings, and a groovy looking

00:21:38

Speaker 1: dog whose name was Rocky. They all said hello and

00:21:41

Speaker 1: began tucking into their dinners. There was delicious, warm, gravy

00:21:47

Speaker 1: covered kibble. The room, once filled with barks and snores

00:21:52

Speaker 1: and chuckles, now was quiet as everyone gobbled down their

00:21:57

Speaker 1: dinners until they all flopped down, chomping their chops. Hector

00:22:02

Speaker 1: rolled on his back and put his paws in the air.

00:22:06

Speaker 1: My Tommy's so full, he said, that's my favorite feeling.

00:22:14

Speaker 1: Ollie chuckled and rolled over on his back too, and Rocky, Ollie, Merle,

00:22:19

Speaker 1: and Zoe did the same. Ah. Merle said that's better.

00:22:27

Speaker 1: Sonny laughed to see all their bellies poking in the air.

00:22:32

Speaker 1: Dessert will come any minute now, Olly said, with an

00:22:36

Speaker 1: upside down grin, and as if by magic, around came

00:22:40

Speaker 1: Peppe the Schnauzer, a little gray mustachioid dog in a

00:22:44

Speaker 1: chef's hat. He handed out cones of ice cream, and

00:22:48

Speaker 1: Sonny had to stop him to check she wasn't dreaming, Peppe,

00:22:53

Speaker 1: what flavor is this ice cream? Please? Could it be?

00:22:58

Speaker 1: She thought to herself. Did it really be? Pepe raised

00:23:03

Speaker 1: one big furry eyebrow and said, gravy. Of course. Hector

00:23:09

Speaker 1: howled in joy, and the two began devouring their desserts.

00:23:14

Speaker 1: Gravy ice cream was their absolute all time favorite. This

00:23:21

Speaker 1: was one of the best days ever. After dessert, they

00:23:27

Speaker 1: asked the pups around them how often they came here.

00:23:31

Speaker 1: Rocky said it was his first time, just like them.

00:23:34

Speaker 1: He said, his brother was here too, but he was

00:23:37

Speaker 1: a cat, so he was in kitty daycare next door.

00:23:40

Speaker 1: He said. He wondered how he was getting on. Sonny

00:23:44

Speaker 1: smiled kindly. Do you want to check he's all right?

00:23:49

Speaker 1: Rocky nodded he was protective of his brother. Hector said

00:23:54

Speaker 1: he and Sonny would come along, after all, they had

00:23:57

Speaker 1: loads of cat friends. Hector grinned. Cats love us, he said.

00:24:04

Speaker 1: Rocky grinned and hopped to his feet and led Hector

00:24:07

Speaker 1: and Sonny out into the yard. The day was drawing

00:24:12

Speaker 1: into night by now, and the clouds were smudgy, inky

00:24:16

Speaker 1: blue overhead. The dogs pitter pattered over the paving stones

00:24:21

Speaker 1: and followed Rocky to the gate that linked doggy Daycare

00:24:24

Speaker 1: to kitty Daycare. He called his brother's name, Loki, and

00:24:30

Speaker 1: soon the gate was nudged open. From the other side,

00:24:35

Speaker 1: a silky cat poked his head through. Hi bro, The

00:24:40

Speaker 1: cat said, hi guys. Rocky asked Loki how he was

00:24:47

Speaker 1: getting on, and the cat assured him he was having

00:24:51

Speaker 1: an amazing time. He ushered the dogs through the fence.

00:24:56

Speaker 1: Loki extended a paw to the cats relaxing in the garden,

00:25:00

Speaker 1: and on this side of the fence, me my new friends.

00:25:04

Speaker 1: He said, This is Lemons, s Mac and Mavis. He said,

00:25:11

Speaker 1: I met these guys in the acrobat room and this

00:25:16

Speaker 1: She pointed to a golden eyed black tabby. Here's Blueberry.

00:25:21

Speaker 1: We met in the milkshake bar. That's Squawky, and there's Momo.

00:25:28

Speaker 1: Momo waggled aboor at the dogs. Finally, he said, here's

00:25:35

Speaker 1: Sonny and Muffin. They're siblings like us. The cats all

00:25:41

Speaker 1: gave the dogs friendly grins and waved hello. Lemons the

00:25:45

Speaker 1: round ginger cat came and rubbed against the dog's legs.

00:25:50

Speaker 1: Sonny the cat and Sonny the Dog giggled about having

00:25:54

Speaker 1: the same name. Hector asked what else the cats had

00:25:58

Speaker 1: in their kitty Dacre and Blueberry explained about all the

00:26:03

Speaker 1: fun things they enjoyed, the scratching post, maize, the petting room,

00:26:09

Speaker 1: and a cat nap cuddle zone, to name a few.

00:26:12

Speaker 1: Momo's favorite was the cuddle zone, where sunlight streamed through

00:26:17

Speaker 1: the window and she could nap on warm blankets. Squawky

00:26:21

Speaker 1: preferred the acrobatics, climbing the cat trees and jumping from

00:26:26

Speaker 1: obstacle to obstacle. Squawky told the dogs that her sister

00:26:31

Speaker 1: was in the doggy day care too, a dog named Dora.

00:26:35

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny promised they'd wish Dora good night for her.

00:26:41

Speaker 1: As they chatted, Sonny heard another tinkling bell coming from

00:26:45

Speaker 1: the doggy daycare. I think that means it's bedtime, she said,

00:26:51

Speaker 1: peering above her head at the stars beginning to shine

00:26:54

Speaker 1: in the night sky. Hector yawned, Oh perfect, he said,

00:27:03

Speaker 1: I'm ready for a snooze. When the dogs went back inside,

00:27:09

Speaker 1: the dog bowls had been replaced by huge pillows, each

00:27:14

Speaker 1: with a matching blanket embroidered with each dog's name. Beside

00:27:20

Speaker 1: each bed was a glass of warm milk. Some of

00:27:24

Speaker 1: the dogs were already sleeping, like one under a big

00:27:28

Speaker 1: woolen blanket labeled Dora. That's Squawky's sister. Sonny said, we

00:27:35

Speaker 1: have to wish her good night. Hector and Sonny tiptoed

00:27:39

Speaker 1: over to the snoring dog and whispered good night in

00:27:43

Speaker 1: her ears. Hector even hummed a few bars of his

00:27:47

Speaker 1: favorite lullaby. Her little puppy was sleeping in the next bed,

00:27:53

Speaker 1: and she looked so sweet and peaceful that Hector and

00:27:57

Speaker 1: Sonny cooed and went closer look at her. Little nose.

00:28:03

Speaker 1: Sonny said. She looked at the name on the blanket,

00:28:08

Speaker 1: Kira Koala, like Cocko's sister. Hector gasped, that's so cool.

00:28:17

Speaker 1: On the next squishy bed was a dog named Sadie.

00:28:22

Speaker 1: She was curled up and sipping from her glass of

00:28:25

Speaker 1: warm milk when she smiled at Hector and Sonny. She

00:28:29

Speaker 1: had a little white mustache of foam on her top lip.

00:28:34

Speaker 1: Curled up on the next pillow, forming a ying yang shape,

00:28:39

Speaker 1: were two dogs who were almost too big to stay on.

00:28:43

Speaker 1: They were two Portuguese water dogs named Charlie and Betty.

00:28:48

Speaker 1: Sonny said, it looked like they loved each other, very

00:28:51

Speaker 1: much like us, Hector, she said. On the next two beds,

00:28:58

Speaker 1: holding paws a cross the gap between them was a

00:29:02

Speaker 1: black and white Cocker Spaniel named Lady and a red

00:29:06

Speaker 1: haired hound named Gunner. Lady's brown eyebrows twitched as she dreamt,

00:29:12

Speaker 1: and Sonny patted her on the head as they passed.

00:29:16

Speaker 1: Hector with sweet dreams to Gunner, who snored softly. Next

00:29:23

Speaker 1: was a terrier named Loki, who Sonny had seen whizzing

00:29:26

Speaker 1: around fast as can be earlier. Now he was sucking

00:29:30

Speaker 1: his thumb deep asleep a curly haired sheeperdoodle named Theodore

00:29:37

Speaker 1: was writing in his diary and sipping his milk ready

00:29:40

Speaker 1: for bed. On the next pillow, Sonny asked Theodore if

00:29:45

Speaker 1: he was writing that he had the best day ever,

00:29:48

Speaker 1: and he said he was, but that tomorrow would be

00:29:52

Speaker 1: even better because he'd be seeing his owners. On the

00:29:57

Speaker 1: next was a teeny tiny, snoozing, long haired Daxon named Freyer,

00:30:02

Speaker 1: who was snuggled so far into her blankets she almost

00:30:07

Speaker 1: disappeared into the softness. Hector said he wanted to be

00:30:12

Speaker 1: cozy like that. She looked as snug as a bug

00:30:16

Speaker 1: in a rug. To her left was another sausage dog,

00:30:21

Speaker 1: this one shiny and sleek. Her name was Sizzles. She

00:30:26

Speaker 1: was chewing on a chew toy as if it was

00:30:28

Speaker 1: a midnight snack, but as Hector and Sunny passed, she

00:30:33

Speaker 1: neatly laid it aside, flopped down, and fell promptly to sleep.

00:30:40

Speaker 1: On the next doggie bed was a pup called Pluto.

00:30:44

Speaker 1: He looked so cozy that Hector and Sonny took extra

00:30:47

Speaker 1: care not to wake him. Tiptoeing past his bed. His

00:30:52

Speaker 1: tongue was lolling out and his ears flopped back, good night, Pluto,

00:30:59

Speaker 1: Sonny whispered to towards him as they passed. Next was

00:31:04

Speaker 1: a snoring black lab named Poppy, whose legs were twitching

00:31:09

Speaker 1: as if she was chasing rabbits in her dreams. Her

00:31:13

Speaker 1: be shone freezer named Rosie was to her left, curled

00:31:17

Speaker 1: up so she looked like a giant pomp pump. A

00:31:21

Speaker 1: white husky named Talia was sprawled across the next bed,

00:31:26

Speaker 1: reading a book of bedtime stories. Next to her were

00:31:31

Speaker 1: two empty pillows, one for Hector and one for Sonny.

00:31:37

Speaker 1: The two got comfy and sipped their warm milk and

00:31:41

Speaker 1: asked Talia if she might pretty please read one of

00:31:45

Speaker 1: her stories aloud, just for them. Tarlia agreed, and, in

00:31:51

Speaker 1: her sweet little voice, told the tale of a little

00:31:55

Speaker 1: curly dog named Cole, whose fur was as dark as

00:32:00

Speaker 1: the night sky. As Cole went on adventures across the galaxy,

00:32:06

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny's eyes began to droop. Sonny rested her

00:32:11

Speaker 1: chin on her paws, and Hector folded his ears over

00:32:16

Speaker 1: his eyes and snuggled deeper into his blanket. Glow in

00:32:23

Speaker 1: the dark, stars glimmered on the ceiling, and the sound

00:32:27

Speaker 1: of soft puppy dog snores filled the air. Soon even

00:32:33

Speaker 1: the story was over, as Tarlia too had drifted into sleep,

00:32:40

Speaker 1: her cute little nose resting on the pages of her books.

00:33:03

Speaker 1: Known
