Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Coco Sleep, a podcast of

00:00:14

Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime

00:00:20

Speaker 1: a dream. I'm delighted to tell all you fans out

00:00:24

Speaker 1: there that our two thrill seeking pups are back. Yes,

00:00:28

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny are off on their adventures again. Thank you,

00:00:32

Speaker 1: love my lip bloss Let, the Little Kiddo, and Beach

00:00:35

Speaker 1: Pearl one two seven for your lovely comments and story suggestions.

00:00:40

Speaker 1: We hope you enjoy tonight's bedtime story. Now, let's all

00:00:44

Speaker 1: take a few moments to relax into bed before I start.

00:00:49

Speaker 1: Take some deep breaths in and let them out slowly

00:00:54

Speaker 1: and steadily. Breathe in and in and out. Wriggle around

00:01:07

Speaker 1: in your bed until you are comfy and still close

00:01:14

Speaker 1: your eyes. Imagine looking at a golden retriever with big,

00:01:20

Speaker 1: dark eyes and his very best friend, a cocker Spaniel

00:01:24

Speaker 1: with soft, floppy ears and light eyes. Whilst out on

00:01:30

Speaker 1: a walk one morning, the friends find some sparkling silver

00:01:33

Speaker 1: sticks resting against a tree. When they pick up the sticks,

00:01:39

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny are transported into a magical world and

00:01:43

Speaker 1: astonishing things soon begin to happen. This is Hector and

00:01:49

Speaker 1: Sunny Find a Magical Stick by Jillian Rogerson. On a

00:02:02

Speaker 1: beautiful morning in summer, a golden retriever called Hector was

00:02:07

Speaker 1: walking along the streets with his owner. Hector was a

00:02:11

Speaker 1: friendly dog, and he made sure to bark out a

00:02:14

Speaker 1: cheerful hello to every dog he passed on his way.

00:02:19

Speaker 1: Most of the dogs barked back in reply, but some

00:02:23

Speaker 1: of them had sticks in their mouths, so they wagged

00:02:25

Speaker 1: their tails instead. Dogs loved carrying sticks, and so did Hector,

00:02:32

Speaker 1: so he began to look for one. Underneath the trees

00:02:35

Speaker 1: was always a good place to look for a stick,

00:02:38

Speaker 1: because branches sometimes fell to the ground during a strong wind.

00:02:42

Speaker 1: There were plenty of trees at the side of the

00:02:44

Speaker 1: pavement where Hector was walking, so he began his search

00:02:48

Speaker 1: for the perfect stick. Hector was so busy looking beneath

00:02:52

Speaker 1: the trees that he didn't realize his owner was leading

00:02:56

Speaker 1: him along the street where Hector's best friend lived. But

00:03:00

Speaker 1: as they got closer to a certain house, Hector saw

00:03:04

Speaker 1: where they were and wagged his tail in delight. They

00:03:08

Speaker 1: stopped outside number thirty three, and Hector barked loudly. Within

00:03:15

Speaker 1: two seconds, the front door of the house opened and

00:03:19

Speaker 1: a beautiful Coca Spaniel with golden brown fur and blue

00:03:23

Speaker 1: eyes the color of the sky, ran out and bounded

00:03:26

Speaker 1: down the path towards Hector, her tail wagging furiously. The

00:03:32

Speaker 1: pals were overjoyed to see each other and barked happily

00:03:37

Speaker 1: in delight. Their owners said hello and then walked along

00:03:42

Speaker 1: the street together with their beloved dogs trotting at their sides.

00:03:47

Speaker 1: Sonny asked Hector what he'd been up to that morning.

00:03:51

Speaker 1: Hector replied, not much yet. I was looking for a

00:03:56

Speaker 1: stick to carry. He looked towards the trees their side, Sonny,

00:04:02

Speaker 1: can you see any good ones? Sonny joined in with

00:04:06

Speaker 1: the search and walked next to Hector. She was extremely

00:04:11

Speaker 1: good at finding sticks and soon spotted a couple of

00:04:14

Speaker 1: marvelous ones under a tree. She stood to one side

00:04:19

Speaker 1: and told Hector to choose his first. Hector said thank

00:04:24

Speaker 1: you and picked up a bobby stick. It was a

00:04:27

Speaker 1: good weight in his mouth and felt comfortable. Sonny picked

00:04:32

Speaker 1: up the other stick and nodded at her friend. Her

00:04:35

Speaker 1: stick was a good one too. The dogs carried on walking,

00:04:41

Speaker 1: happy with the sticks they'd found, but then they noticed

00:04:46

Speaker 1: something amazing, something they had never ever seen before. At

00:04:53

Speaker 1: the side of the path was the biggest tree they

00:04:56

Speaker 1: had ever seen. A sign was fixed around the trunk

00:05:00

Speaker 1: of it. There were some words on it, but the

00:05:05

Speaker 1: dogs couldn't read, so they ignored the sign and let

00:05:08

Speaker 1: their owners do the reading. Beneath the tree was a

00:05:13

Speaker 1: collection of sticks. Not just a couple of sticks, but

00:05:17

Speaker 1: lots and lots of sticks in many different sizes. Some

00:05:22

Speaker 1: even had leaves on the end of them. Hector and

00:05:26

Speaker 1: Sonny stared at the sticks in amazement. What was going on?

00:05:32

Speaker 1: Why were there so many sticks there? They heard their

00:05:36

Speaker 1: owners talking and made out the words stick library. The

00:05:42

Speaker 1: dogs had no idea what that meant. Hector's owner knelt

00:05:47

Speaker 1: next to him and gently took the stick from Hector's mouth.

00:05:52

Speaker 1: He placed it at the side of the tree, next

00:05:54

Speaker 1: to the collection of sticks. Sonny's owner did the same thing.

00:06:00

Speaker 1: Hector frowned and said to Sonny, what's going on here?

00:06:05

Speaker 1: Why have they taken our sticks away? Sonny tipped her

00:06:10

Speaker 1: head to one side and looked closer at the sticks. Hector,

00:06:17

Speaker 1: I think we're allowed to take one of the other sticks.

00:06:20

Speaker 1: Sometimes I go to a big building with my owner

00:06:23

Speaker 1: and she always has a book with her. She gives

00:06:27

Speaker 1: the book back, but then gets another one off the

00:06:30

Speaker 1: shelf and takes that home instead. Perhaps that's what we're

00:06:34

Speaker 1: supposed to do with these sticks. Shall we take a

00:06:37

Speaker 1: new one and see if we're doing the right thing?

00:06:42

Speaker 1: Hector said it was worth a try. He grinned cheekily

00:06:46

Speaker 1: at the sticks and asked Sonnie if they should only

00:06:50

Speaker 1: take one stick, or should they take more, because he

00:06:53

Speaker 1: was certain he could carry three or four if he tried.

00:06:58

Speaker 1: Sonny said they had brought one stick with them, so

00:07:01

Speaker 1: perhaps they were only supposed to take one away. Hector nodded.

00:07:07

Speaker 1: That made sense, But now which stick should he choose?

00:07:13

Speaker 1: Then he remembered his manners and stood to one side

00:07:16

Speaker 1: and told Sonnie to pick hers first. Sonny walked back

00:07:22

Speaker 1: and forth in front of the sticks and gave them

00:07:25

Speaker 1: a close look. One of them looked a bit different

00:07:30

Speaker 1: to the other ones. It wasn't brown in color and

00:07:34

Speaker 1: looked almost silver. Sonny moved closer to the stick and

00:07:39

Speaker 1: pressed her nose against it to get a really good look. Yes,

00:07:46

Speaker 1: it was definitely silver. She sniffed it. It smelled different, too,

00:07:52

Speaker 1: but she couldn't work out what the lovely fragrance was.

00:07:57

Speaker 1: Sonny picked the stick up, tingled gently in her mouth,

00:08:02

Speaker 1: and her blue eyes grew wide in surprise. She put

00:08:07

Speaker 1: the stick down and told Hector what had just happened.

00:08:11

Speaker 1: Hector said it might be a magical stick. Do you

00:08:16

Speaker 1: remember when we went into Dreamland last week and we

00:08:20

Speaker 1: got there by following a silver squirrel called Sydney. Sonny

00:08:25

Speaker 1: said she would never ever forget that amazing day. Yes,

00:08:31

Speaker 1: Hector could be right about the stick being magical. She

00:08:36

Speaker 1: quickly looked at the remaining sticks leaning against the tree.

00:08:41

Speaker 1: There was another silver one. Sonny pointed it out to Hector.

00:08:47

Speaker 1: Hector picked it up, and his eyes widened in surprise too,

00:08:51

Speaker 1: because his stick gently tingled in his mouth, just like

00:08:56

Speaker 1: Sonny's had. Sonny picked her silver stick up again and

00:09:02

Speaker 1: looked at her friend, and then something magical happened. The

00:09:08

Speaker 1: world around them froze in time. Their owners became as

00:09:14

Speaker 1: still as statues. The same thing had happened the previous

00:09:19

Speaker 1: week when the dogs had gone into Dreamland. Time was

00:09:23

Speaker 1: standing still for everyone except the two dogs. Hector and

00:09:29

Speaker 1: Sonny didn't know what to do next, so Sonny suggested

00:09:34

Speaker 1: they waved their sticks about to see if they would

00:09:38

Speaker 1: make something happen. They waved their sticks. In an instant,

00:09:45

Speaker 1: the two dogs were transported into another world. They found

00:09:51

Speaker 1: themselves in the middle of a forest and was surrounded

00:09:55

Speaker 1: by trees that were covered in sparkling silver leaves. The

00:10:00

Speaker 1: trees were dozens and dozens of glimmering gold flowers. The

00:10:07

Speaker 1: dogs put their sticks down. Hector said, where are we?

00:10:15

Speaker 1: How did we get here? Sonny gave him a small

00:10:20

Speaker 1: smile and said, I think this is my fault. Just

00:10:25

Speaker 1: before we started shaking our sticks, I thought how lovely

00:10:30

Speaker 1: it would be to visit an enchanted forest. I think

00:10:34

Speaker 1: the stick must have heard my thoughts somehow. Hector, look

00:10:39

Speaker 1: at these trees and flowers. Aren't they beautiful? They're so

00:10:43

Speaker 1: twinkling and glittering. Hector nodded and said the flowers looked

00:10:49

Speaker 1: like bells. As soon as he said that, he thought

00:10:54

Speaker 1: how wonderful it would be if the flowers sounded like

00:10:57

Speaker 1: bells too, And wouldn't it be amazing if the leaves

00:11:02

Speaker 1: made music too. In a flash, Hector's stick turned into

00:11:08

Speaker 1: something else. It was now straight and smooth. Hector thought

00:11:15

Speaker 1: it looked like one of those sticks music conductors used

00:11:19

Speaker 1: when they were in front of an orchestra. He'd seen

00:11:22

Speaker 1: a TV program once where lots of people played instruments

00:11:27

Speaker 1: and the person at the front waved a special stick

00:11:30

Speaker 1: at them to make the music go faster or slower.

00:11:35

Speaker 1: Hector picked up the smooth stick. He waved it back

00:11:40

Speaker 1: and forth in front of the silver trees and the

00:11:43

Speaker 1: golden flowers to see if anything magical would happen. The

00:11:50

Speaker 1: sparkling leaves started to softly jingle and jangle. The glimmering

00:11:57

Speaker 1: flowers began to chime like bell. It was a lovely sound,

00:12:03

Speaker 1: and it made Sunny dance from side to side. Hector

00:12:08

Speaker 1: danced too, and continued waving his music stick back and forth.

00:12:16

Speaker 1: Sonny thought about the music stick in Hector's mouth, and

00:12:20

Speaker 1: how much fun it would be to have one too,

00:12:23

Speaker 1: And all of a sudden, her stick turned into one

00:12:27

Speaker 1: like Hector's. She picked it up and waved it at

00:12:31

Speaker 1: the tree and flowers too. The happy music carried on

00:12:37

Speaker 1: playing for some of the leaves and flowers floated free

00:12:42

Speaker 1: and drifted upwards. They turned into silver and gold butterflies.

00:12:50

Speaker 1: The beautiful butterflies fluttered towards the dogs and danced gently

00:12:55

Speaker 1: around them in a twinkling cloud. Of sparkle wings. The

00:13:02

Speaker 1: butterflies sang a soothing song that made the dogs feel

00:13:07

Speaker 1: all warm and happy inside. The sight was so amazing

00:13:14

Speaker 1: that it caused the dogs to stop waving their sticks

00:13:18

Speaker 1: and gaze at the butterflies in wonder. Sonny put her

00:13:23

Speaker 1: stick down and said, Hector, wouldn't it be lovely if

00:13:29

Speaker 1: we could fly too. Hector put his stick down too

00:13:34

Speaker 1: and agreed that yes, that would be lovely. To their astonishment,

00:13:42

Speaker 1: their music sticks immediately turned into large broomsticks with silver

00:13:48

Speaker 1: and gold bristles. The two broomsticks rose from the ground

00:13:54

Speaker 1: and hovered next to the surprised dogs. Friends didn't know

00:14:00

Speaker 1: what to make of the broomsticks, but after a quick discussion,

00:14:05

Speaker 1: they decided the broomsticks must be able to fly, and

00:14:09

Speaker 1: if they stood on them, they'd be able to fly too.

00:14:15

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny jumped onto the broomsticks. The broomsticks were

00:14:20

Speaker 1: wide and there was plenty of room for their fore paws.

00:14:26

Speaker 1: Slowly and steadily, the broomsticks rose higher above the ground.

00:14:33

Speaker 1: The dogs grinned at each other. Up and up they went,

00:14:39

Speaker 1: high above the silver leaf trees. The broomsticks stopped rising

00:14:46

Speaker 1: and moved slowly forward. Over the enchanted forest. The dogs

00:14:53

Speaker 1: soon worked out they could control the flying sticks by

00:14:57

Speaker 1: leaning left and right, and if they leaned forward, they

00:15:02

Speaker 1: made the broomsticks go faster. Going faster was a lot

00:15:07

Speaker 1: of fun, and the dogs chuckled in delight. As they

00:15:11

Speaker 1: flew over the forest. The wind ran through their fur

00:15:16

Speaker 1: and made their ears flat. Onwards, they traveled over many

00:15:23

Speaker 1: fields and houses. Everything looked so small to them from

00:15:29

Speaker 1: up high on their broomsticks, Sonny spotted something ahead and

00:15:36

Speaker 1: called out, Hector, Look, the sea is over there. Shall

00:15:41

Speaker 1: we go towards it? Can we splash in the water.

00:15:44

Speaker 1: I loved splashing in the sea and running into the waves.

00:15:49

Speaker 1: Hector loved playing in the sea too. They guided their

00:15:53

Speaker 1: broomsticks towards the sparkling blue sea. When they got closer,

00:16:00

Speaker 1: the dogs saw people standing on boards in the water.

00:16:05

Speaker 1: Big waves curled up behind the people and carried them

00:16:10

Speaker 1: towards the beach. Even from up high, the dogs could

00:16:16

Speaker 1: see how happy the people on the boards were. Some

00:16:20

Speaker 1: were even whooping in joy and waving their arms in

00:16:25

Speaker 1: the air. Sonny looked over at Hector and said, that

00:16:32

Speaker 1: looks like fun. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Hector nodded.

00:16:39

Speaker 1: They guided their broomsticks towards the beach and landed softly

00:16:45

Speaker 1: on the sand. The dogs looked at the broomsticks and

00:16:50

Speaker 1: thought how lovely it would be to ride on the waves.

00:16:57

Speaker 1: The broomsticks changed shape and turned into silver and gold surfboards.

00:17:05

Speaker 1: The dogs climbed onto them and waited. Nothing happened. Sonny

00:17:12

Speaker 1: looked at the people on the boards in the sea.

00:17:15

Speaker 1: She watched as they came to a stop on the

00:17:18

Speaker 1: beach and saw how they picked up their boards and

00:17:23

Speaker 1: ran back into the water. She told Hector they had

00:17:28

Speaker 1: to carry the surfboards into the sea. The dogs were

00:17:33

Speaker 1: concerned the surfboards might be too heavy, but when they

00:17:37

Speaker 1: picked them up, the boards were as light as feathers

00:17:42

Speaker 1: and were very easy to carry. The dogs ran into

00:17:47

Speaker 1: the sea with their boards, and when they were far

00:17:51

Speaker 1: enough into the water, they climbed onto them and lay

00:17:55

Speaker 1: on their tummies. Using their front legs, they doggy paddled

00:18:01

Speaker 1: in the sea until they were a good distance from

00:18:04

Speaker 1: the shore. They saw a wave curling towards them. Hector

00:18:11

Speaker 1: and Sonny stood up on their surfboards and waited for

00:18:15

Speaker 1: the wave to catch them. The wave moved under the

00:18:21

Speaker 1: surfboards and carried the laughing dogs smoothly through the water

00:18:26

Speaker 1: and towards the shore. It was tremendous fun, and they

00:18:32

Speaker 1: felt like they were flying again. They barked in uttered

00:18:37

Speaker 1: joy and waved their front legs in the air. As

00:18:41

Speaker 1: soon as the dogs landed on the shore and came

00:18:44

Speaker 1: to a stop, they picked up their boards and rushed

00:18:48

Speaker 1: back into the sea. Over and over, the two friends

00:18:54

Speaker 1: surfed the blue waves of the sea until finally they

00:18:59

Speaker 1: fle loped onto the beach in happy exhaustion and agreed

00:19:04

Speaker 1: they'd done enough surfing. The sand was soft beneath them,

00:19:10

Speaker 1: and the sun was warm on their backs. The dogs

00:19:15

Speaker 1: yawned and agreed they could do with a little rest

00:19:19

Speaker 1: before continuing with their adventure. Hector saw a line of

00:19:25

Speaker 1: beech huts behind them. People were sitting in the shade

00:19:29

Speaker 1: of the open doors of the huts and sipping cold drinks.

00:19:35

Speaker 1: He said it would be lovely to have somewhere cool

00:19:38

Speaker 1: to rest for a while. Sunny agreed. The gold and

00:19:44

Speaker 1: silver surfboards immediately disappeared, and the dogs wondered where they

00:19:50

Speaker 1: had gone. Hector noticed that a new beach hut had appeared.

00:19:56

Speaker 1: It was silver and gold, and there were a couple

00:20:00

Speaker 1: of dog bowls in the open doorway that were full

00:20:04

Speaker 1: to the brim with water. Hector said the hut must

00:20:10

Speaker 1: be for them. The dogs padded over to the beach

00:20:15

Speaker 1: hut and lapped at the water in the bowls. The

00:20:19

Speaker 1: liquid was refreshingly cold and was just what they needed.

00:20:25

Speaker 1: Once they'd had enough to drink, they went into the

00:20:29

Speaker 1: beach hut, lay on their tummies and looked out at

00:20:33

Speaker 1: the sea as it flowed gently back and forth. The

00:20:39

Speaker 1: dogs closed their eyes and listened to the soothing sound

00:20:44

Speaker 1: of the sea. They felt so very peaceful and relaxed.

00:20:52

Speaker 1: After a while, the rested dogs felt ready to leave

00:20:56

Speaker 1: the hut. Sunny are asked what should we do next?

00:21:03

Speaker 1: What do you like doing Hector? Hector said he liked

00:21:08

Speaker 1: doing everything. The two dogs walked away from the beach

00:21:14

Speaker 1: hut and wriggled their toes into the soft sand. They

00:21:20

Speaker 1: watched what was happening around them. People were lounging on

00:21:26

Speaker 1: blankets and reading books. Others were playing a game with

00:21:31

Speaker 1: a ball and a bat. A couple of children were

00:21:36

Speaker 1: making sand castles using a spade and bucket. Hector and

00:21:42

Speaker 1: Sunny smiled at each other, they knew what they wanted

00:21:47

Speaker 1: to do next. They thought how lovely it would be

00:21:52

Speaker 1: to build a sand castle, just like the children were doing.

00:21:58

Speaker 1: The beach hut behind them instantly changed into a silver

00:22:03

Speaker 1: spade in a golden bucket. The dogs took the items

00:22:08

Speaker 1: in their mouths and were soon busy building a sand castle.

00:22:13

Speaker 1: It was enormous fun, and they loved seeing how the

00:22:17

Speaker 1: castle grew bigger and bigger with each bucket full of

00:22:22

Speaker 1: sand they tipped over. Sonny saw that the nearby children

00:22:28

Speaker 1: had made a moat around their castle and then filled

00:22:33

Speaker 1: it with water. She told Hector about it, and very

00:22:38

Speaker 1: soon they had a water filled moat around their castle too.

00:22:44

Speaker 1: They added some shells to the sandy building as well,

00:22:48

Speaker 1: to make it even more amazing. Once they had finished,

00:22:54

Speaker 1: the dogs stood back to admire their wonderful castle. They

00:23:00

Speaker 1: thought it was perfect. Sonny asked Hector if they should

00:23:05

Speaker 1: build another one, but Hector was only half listening to

00:23:10

Speaker 1: his friend because he spotted something in the distance. His

00:23:15

Speaker 1: mouth dropped open, and he blinked several times because he

00:23:21

Speaker 1: just could not believe what he was seeing. Sonny turned

00:23:27

Speaker 1: around to see what Hector was looking at. When she

00:23:32

Speaker 1: saw what it was. Her mouth fell open too. An

00:23:37

Speaker 1: enormous sea through ball was rolling across the sand. There

00:23:43

Speaker 1: was a young woman inside it. She was running inside

00:23:48

Speaker 1: the ball and making it move across the sand. Sonny

00:23:53

Speaker 1: told Hector it looked like the hamster wheel that was

00:23:56

Speaker 1: in her house. Hector didn't know what a hamster wheel was,

00:24:02

Speaker 1: and he wasn't really sure what a hamster was either,

00:24:06

Speaker 1: so he asked Sonny to tell him more. Sonny did so,

00:24:10

Speaker 1: and mind the action of running on a wheel, She said.

00:24:15

Speaker 1: The family hamster loved going on it, and it was

00:24:18

Speaker 1: the first thing he did every day. The gigantic ball

00:24:23

Speaker 1: came closer to them. The dogs agreed they would love

00:24:28

Speaker 1: to go inside something like that, but they weren't sure

00:24:32

Speaker 1: their magical sticks would change into such huge objects. Sonny

00:24:40

Speaker 1: sensibly said there was only one way to find out.

00:24:44

Speaker 1: If they could make it happen. The two dogs closed

00:24:49

Speaker 1: their eyes and thought how lovely it would be to

00:24:54

Speaker 1: run inside a large sea through ball. When they opened

00:25:01

Speaker 1: their eyes, they were overjoyed to find they were inside

00:25:06

Speaker 1: their own giant, inflatable balls. Hector moved his paws up

00:25:14

Speaker 1: and down on the bouncy surface beneath him, his ball

00:25:20

Speaker 1: began to move slowly forward. He looked over at Sunny

00:25:26

Speaker 1: and told her to do the same thing. Sonny did so,

00:25:32

Speaker 1: and her ball moved too. The dogs walked inside the

00:25:37

Speaker 1: inflatable balls until they got the hang of how to

00:25:42

Speaker 1: move them. Then they began to jog, and then they

00:25:49

Speaker 1: started to run. The surface beneath their paws was soft

00:25:55

Speaker 1: and springy. It felt like they were running on a

00:25:59

Speaker 1: bouncy castle. Over the sand, they rolled, laughing and wagging

00:26:06

Speaker 1: their tails in delight. The two dogs had an amazing

00:26:12

Speaker 1: time rolling over the sand all the way to the

00:26:17

Speaker 1: end of the beach. When they got to the end,

00:26:22

Speaker 1: they turned around and rolled right back to the other side.

00:26:28

Speaker 1: The people on the beach stopped what they were doing

00:26:32

Speaker 1: and looked in surprise at Hector and Sonny. When they

00:26:37

Speaker 1: saw how much fun the dogs were having, the people

00:26:41

Speaker 1: smiled and waved at them. The dogs waved back. After

00:26:48

Speaker 1: a few more journeys across the sand, Hector yawned and

00:26:53

Speaker 1: told Sonny he was getting tired and perhaps they should

00:26:58

Speaker 1: head back home. When they'd been to Dreamland the week before,

00:27:04

Speaker 1: Sydney the Silver Squirrel had told them that when they

00:27:08

Speaker 1: wanted to return home. They should bark three times and

00:27:14

Speaker 1: they would be home in an instant. Hector asked Sonnie

00:27:20

Speaker 1: if she was ready to go home. Sonnie said she was,

00:27:27

Speaker 1: but she wanted one last adventure. She closed her eyes

00:27:33

Speaker 1: and smiled as she thought about something. The inflatable balls

00:27:40

Speaker 1: merged together and became one. Hector and Sonny were now

00:27:47

Speaker 1: standing next to each other. A long string appeared on

00:27:53

Speaker 1: the outside of the ball, and it looked like the

00:27:57

Speaker 1: string of a kite. Sonny told Hector they were going

00:28:03

Speaker 1: to fly back to the enchanted forest and return home

00:28:08

Speaker 1: from there. The ball rose from the ground and floated

00:28:15

Speaker 1: through the air like an enormous round kite. The string

00:28:22

Speaker 1: flapped behind them gently in the breeze. The dogs waved

00:28:28

Speaker 1: their paws at the people below who were watching them.

00:28:33

Speaker 1: The huge sand castle they had made looked smaller and

00:28:37

Speaker 1: smaller as they went higher and higher over the sparkling sea.

00:28:46

Speaker 1: They drifted, watching the surfers ride towards the beach, back

00:28:55

Speaker 1: over the fields and houses they floated. The sky grew

00:29:01

Speaker 1: darker as they traveled towards the enchanted forest. The silver

00:29:08

Speaker 1: leaf trees came into view, and the dogs heard the

00:29:13

Speaker 1: distant sound of tinkling leaves and chiming flowers. A couple

00:29:21

Speaker 1: of silver butterflies flew closer to the floating ball and

00:29:26

Speaker 1: guided the dogs down to the ground. The ball landed

00:29:33

Speaker 1: on the soft ground, and the dogs stepped out of it.

00:29:39

Speaker 1: The ball swiftly turned into two silver sticks, the same

00:29:45

Speaker 1: sticks Hector and Sunny had picked up earlier. It was

00:29:51

Speaker 1: time to go home. Hector and Sunny barked three times

00:29:58

Speaker 1: and picked the sticks up. A second later, they were

00:30:04

Speaker 1: back at their owner's side. Their owners became unfrozen and

00:30:10

Speaker 1: carried on chatting to each other, unaware that their dogs

00:30:15

Speaker 1: had been on an amazing adventure. Hector and Sonny carefully

00:30:24

Speaker 1: put the silver sticks back where they had found them,

00:30:29

Speaker 1: ready for other dogs to have a magical adventure too.

00:30:35

Speaker 1: They picked up the sticks they had found on the

00:30:38

Speaker 1: way to the big tree and looked at their owners

00:30:43

Speaker 1: to let them know they were ready to carry on walking.

00:30:48

Speaker 1: Hector and Sonny walked back to their homes. They took

00:30:54

Speaker 1: their sticks into their houses because they wanted to keep

00:31:01

Speaker 1: them a little longer to remind them of their lovely adventure.

00:31:08

Speaker 1: Before Hector and Sonny say goodbye to each other, they

00:31:14

Speaker 1: said they just couldn't wait to meet again, and perhaps,

00:31:20

Speaker 1: just perhaps they would go on another adventure again. Assassa
