00:00:10
Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Coco Sleep, a podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:20
Speaker 1: a dream. We have two new Cocoa Club members to
00:00:24
Speaker 1: welcome tonight. Hey Ella, Hi Rainbow. Thank you for subscribing.
00:00:28
Speaker 1: We're so pleased to have you as part of our
00:00:30
Speaker 1: little club and hope you enjoy the special bonus stories
00:00:33
Speaker 1: we have coming up. Wednesday's final Christmas story is a
00:00:39
Speaker 1: spectacular one. We will be flying to New York on
00:00:43
Speaker 1: holiday with a little girl called Ivy and her family.
00:00:47
Speaker 1: It's Christmas and Ivy has a sneaky feeling that she
00:00:51
Speaker 1: may bump into Santa Claus in the festive streets of
00:00:54
Speaker 1: the Big Apple. Let's see if she's right. But back
00:00:59
Speaker 1: to tonight, and it's less than a week to go
00:01:01
Speaker 1: until Christmas Day. So before I tell you anything about
00:01:06
Speaker 1: the story, let's get into bed, wriggle around a bit,
00:01:11
Speaker 1: and try to calm your excited bodies and busy brains.
00:01:16
Speaker 1: It's time for resting now, and we're going to start
00:01:20
Speaker 1: by taking a lovely deep breath in through your nose
00:01:24
Speaker 1: and sighing it out, and again, breathe in and sigh
00:01:32
Speaker 1: softly out. One more time in and out. Now, close
00:01:42
Speaker 1: your eyes and relax your face, your forehead, your jaw,
00:01:48
Speaker 1: and let your tongue rest down behind your teeth if
00:01:53
Speaker 1: you can get a little bit more comfy, and finally,
00:01:58
Speaker 1: relax your arms and legs. Down into your bed. With
00:02:04
Speaker 1: our eyes closed, we're going to imagine a cold, snowy day.
00:02:10
Speaker 1: Icicles are hanging from the bare branches of the trees,
00:02:14
Speaker 1: and any footsteps left on the ground are quickly covered
00:02:19
Speaker 1: up by freshly fallen flakes of snow. The wind whistles
00:02:25
Speaker 1: through the air, and in the distance the faint sound
00:02:30
Speaker 1: of jingle bells can be heard. Tonight, we're journeying to
00:02:36
Speaker 1: the North Pole and into a warm, busy workshop where
00:02:42
Speaker 1: Santa's elves are in full swing preparing the toys ready
00:02:48
Speaker 1: for Christmas Day. This is Jingle Jangle and Jolly Save
00:02:54
Speaker 1: Christmas by Alicia Ainslie. In the midst of the snowy
00:03:07
Speaker 1: wilderness stood a little town. Most people may only celebrate
00:03:12
Speaker 1: Christmas time in December, but here, in this little town
00:03:16
Speaker 1: at the North Pole, Christmas is rejoiced all year round,
00:03:22
Speaker 1: for it is here that Santa Claus and his merry
00:03:25
Speaker 1: team of helpers live and work, while Santa Rifles threw
00:03:31
Speaker 1: the millions of letters from children across the world, and
00:03:35
Speaker 1: Missus Claws keeps track of who is on the Nice
00:03:39
Speaker 1: List and the Naughty List. There are many other creatures
00:03:43
Speaker 1: who help prepare for Christmas Day. Santa's band of reindeer
00:03:48
Speaker 1: train all year round to make sure they are flying
00:03:52
Speaker 1: fit for Christmas Eve. Plus, Jack Frost and his mystical
00:03:57
Speaker 1: snowmen take care of the weather to make sure it
00:04:00
Speaker 1: is crisp, snowy, and just right for winter time. Meanwhile,
00:04:06
Speaker 1: in a huge workshop close to Santa's grotto work the elves.
00:04:12
Speaker 1: They are perhaps the most hard working Christmas creatures of all.
00:04:17
Speaker 1: Every day, Santa's Elves make toys and package them up
00:04:22
Speaker 1: in delightfully colorful wrapping paper, ready for delivery on Christmas Eve.
00:04:28
Speaker 1: The elves have millions of toys to make, so they
00:04:32
Speaker 1: have to work to a strict schedule in order to
00:04:35
Speaker 1: be ready in time for Christmas Eve. Luckily, Santa's Elves
00:04:41
Speaker 1: are very efficient and they never fail in their task.
00:04:45
Speaker 1: One December day, the elves were cheerfully crafting their toys
00:04:50
Speaker 1: in the workshop. Christmas was fast approaching, and they still
00:04:55
Speaker 1: had lots of toys to finish. Jolly the Elf was
00:04:59
Speaker 1: the manner and he was in charge of overseeing the
00:05:03
Speaker 1: toy workshop. He made sure that everything was running to
00:05:08
Speaker 1: schedule at all times. Jolly marched up and down the
00:05:13
Speaker 1: workshop in between the long tables of workers and massive
00:05:19
Speaker 1: machines and conveyor beouts, his shoes jingling all the way.
00:05:25
Speaker 1: He walked up to a podium at the front of
00:05:27
Speaker 1: the workshop and stepped up so that he could be
00:05:31
Speaker 1: seen above the rest of his team. He had an
00:05:35
Speaker 1: important announcement to make. He called out to everyone, Hello,
00:05:42
Speaker 1: my fellow elves, may I have your attention. As soon
00:05:47
Speaker 1: as they heard Jolly's squeaky voice, the machines quietened down
00:05:53
Speaker 1: and general chatter between the elves stopped. Jolly continued with
00:05:59
Speaker 1: his speech. We have only ten more days to go
00:06:04
Speaker 1: until Christmas Eve, and we still have ten thousand toys
00:06:09
Speaker 1: to make. We are running slightly behind schedule, so I
00:06:14
Speaker 1: need a couple of elves to work late with me
00:06:17
Speaker 1: tonight to help us catch up on our workload. I
00:06:22
Speaker 1: need someone to assist with the making of our super
00:06:25
Speaker 1: bouncy balls, and someone with fast fingers to knit extra
00:06:32
Speaker 1: sweaters for the Teddy bears who would like to help me.
00:06:38
Speaker 1: All of the elves in the workshop shot their hands
00:06:42
Speaker 1: up into the air. Everyone wanted to help make sure
00:06:47
Speaker 1: that Christmas Eve went ahead without a hitch. Santa's elves
00:06:52
Speaker 1: were all very helpful and hard working, so Jollie had
00:06:56
Speaker 1: plenty of elves to choose from. He scanned and the
00:07:00
Speaker 1: crowd of eager faces and noticed two young elves that
00:07:05
Speaker 1: he hadn't spent much time with before. They were called
00:07:09
Speaker 1: Jingle and Jangle. Jingle wore a red hat and a
00:07:15
Speaker 1: red tunic, and Jangle wore green. Jolly decided that this
00:07:21
Speaker 1: would be a perfect opportunity to get to know these elves.
00:07:26
Speaker 1: He made his choice. Jingle and Jangle, you can help
00:07:31
Speaker 1: me tonight, Jolly announced, before thanking all the other owls
00:07:36
Speaker 1: for their offers of assistance. Jingle and Jangle high fived
00:07:41
Speaker 1: each other excitedly. It was a great privilege to be
00:07:45
Speaker 1: trusted to help such a senior elf as Jolly the manager.
00:07:52
Speaker 1: The afternoon plodded along as normal, and when it was
00:07:56
Speaker 1: time for all the other owls to finish for the
00:08:01
Speaker 1: Jingle and Jangle stayed behind to work overtime with Jolly.
00:08:08
Speaker 1: Jolly handed out their jobs for the evening. Jingle was
00:08:13
Speaker 1: going to make the super bouncy balls, and Jangle was
00:08:17
Speaker 1: tasked with knitting the extra jumpers for the Teddy Bears.
00:08:22
Speaker 1: In the meantime, Jolly would count up the toys that
00:08:25
Speaker 1: had been made that day and make sure they were
00:08:29
Speaker 1: all labeled correctly. It was a very important job to
00:08:34
Speaker 1: make sure that the presents were addressed to the right children.
00:08:40
Speaker 1: Jolly worked his way through the wrapped presence while Jangle
00:08:45
Speaker 1: clicked his knitting needles together as fast as he could,
00:08:49
Speaker 1: and Jingle molded the bouncy balls. The trick to making
00:08:55
Speaker 1: a super bouncy ball was that you rolled the finish
00:08:59
Speaker 1: ball in a big pot of spongy slime. This gave
00:09:04
Speaker 1: them an extra bouncy exterior. Jingle was having such a
00:09:10
Speaker 1: good time making the bouncy balls. He painted them all
00:09:15
Speaker 1: different colors of the rainbow, and some of them he
00:09:20
Speaker 1: even dipped in glitter. The gooey slime felt sticky on
00:09:25
Speaker 1: his hands as he dunked the balls into the pot,
00:09:29
Speaker 1: and Jingle made quite a mess of his workstation. Meanwhile,
00:09:35
Speaker 1: Jangle and Jolly worked away peacefully and tidily. Not before long,
00:09:43
Speaker 1: Jingle had finished his task of making the super bouncy balls,
00:09:49
Speaker 1: and he proudly announced that he was done. Jolly the
00:09:54
Speaker 1: Elf was very impressed with Jingle's efficiency and asked him
00:09:59
Speaker 1: to bring the b bouncy balls over to him so
00:10:02
Speaker 1: that they could begin wrapping them up. Jingle carried the
00:10:06
Speaker 1: box of super Bouncy balls over to Jolly, but as
00:10:11
Speaker 1: he walked he noticed that the brightly colored balls were
00:10:16
Speaker 1: so bouncy that they were jiggling about in the box.
00:10:21
Speaker 1: Jingle could hardly control them as he moved, but he
00:10:25
Speaker 1: held onto the box firmly. Unfortunately for Jingle, some of
00:10:34
Speaker 1: the messy slime he had been working with had splashed
00:10:38
Speaker 1: onto the floor, and just as he was close to Jolly,
00:10:43
Speaker 1: he slipped on the slime. Jingle's feet whooshed up into
00:10:48
Speaker 1: the air, and he fell backwards, dropping the box of
00:10:53
Speaker 1: bouncy balls in the process. The balls scattered everywhere, and Jingle, Jangle,
00:11:03
Speaker 1: and Jolly watched helplessly as the balls boined and bounced
00:11:09
Speaker 1: off the walls up to the ceiling, through their legs
00:11:15
Speaker 1: and in every direction possible. The balls crashed through the
00:11:21
Speaker 1: completed piles of presents, perfectly wrapped and organized for Christmas Eve,
00:11:28
Speaker 1: knocking them all over, and the balls darted around the
00:11:33
Speaker 1: toy making machines. Eventually, the super bouncy balls started to
00:11:41
Speaker 1: lose the momentum and they slowed down enough for Jingle
00:11:46
Speaker 1: Jangle and Jolly to grab and return them to the box.
00:11:53
Speaker 1: Just when they thought that they had retrieved all the
00:11:56
Speaker 1: bouncy balls, Jolly the elf noticed one last yellow glittery
00:12:03
Speaker 1: ball resting on a workbench. He tried to snatch up
00:12:08
Speaker 1: the remaining ball, but it slipped through his fingers and
00:12:13
Speaker 1: ricocheted off the workbench, up into the air and crashed
00:12:20
Speaker 1: into the cogs of one of the toy making machines.
00:12:25
Speaker 1: With a crack and a crunch. The cogs of the
00:12:29
Speaker 1: machine came loose and crumpled to the floor in a
00:12:34
Speaker 1: dusty heap. Oh dear, oh dear, Jolly sighed, the toy
00:12:43
Speaker 1: machine is broken. How will we stay on schedule for Christmas?
00:12:49
Speaker 1: Even now? Jingle and Jangle rushed forward and picked up
00:12:56
Speaker 1: the broken pieces of the machine. Don't worry, Jolly Jangle
00:13:03
Speaker 1: assured him, we can fix this. US worker elves are
00:13:08
Speaker 1: very handy and resourceful. We'll have it fixed in no time.
00:13:16
Speaker 1: Jingle Jangle and Jolly all took a look at the
00:13:20
Speaker 1: broken cogs of the machine. Some of them had split
00:13:24
Speaker 1: in two and others had cracks in them from the
00:13:28
Speaker 1: impact of their fall. The machine parts were in a
00:13:33
Speaker 1: sorry state. How are we going to put these back
00:13:39
Speaker 1: together again, Jolly wondered. Jingle lifted his finger into the
00:13:46
Speaker 1: air like a child at school, and replied, I have
00:13:51
Speaker 1: an idea. We could use super glue to stick them
00:13:56
Speaker 1: back together again. But Jolly shook his head and said
00:14:01
Speaker 1: that superglue wouldn't be strong enough for the toy making machine.
00:14:07
Speaker 1: It was so big that they needed something much firmer.
00:14:12
Speaker 1: The three little elves thought hard what could they use
00:14:19
Speaker 1: to fix the cogs back together again? Then Jangle had
00:14:25
Speaker 1: an idea. Why don't we ask Jack Frost for help.
00:14:31
Speaker 1: Jangle suggested Jack Frost might be able to stick the
00:14:36
Speaker 1: broken pieces back together again with his super icy powers.
00:14:43
Speaker 1: Jingle and Jolly agreed that it was worth a try.
00:14:48
Speaker 1: The three elves placed the broken machine pieces in a bag,
00:14:53
Speaker 1: got dressed in their winter coats and scarves, and journeyed
00:14:57
Speaker 1: outside into the snow. They trudged their way through the
00:15:03
Speaker 1: deep snow and the blustering blizzard in search of Jack Frost.
00:15:12
Speaker 1: Jack Frost could be absolutely anywhere. He didn't live in
00:15:18
Speaker 1: a house. He lived outdoors in the snow. So the
00:15:22
Speaker 1: three elves called out his name into the wilderness, hoping
00:15:27
Speaker 1: that he would hear their call and appear. Jingle, Jangle
00:15:34
Speaker 1: and Jolly walked behind the reindeer stables and over the
00:15:39
Speaker 1: hill and found the field of snow men. The snow
00:15:44
Speaker 1: men were having their dinner. They were eating their favorite
00:15:48
Speaker 1: meal of ice cream and snow cones, and Jingle's belly
00:15:53
Speaker 1: grumbled when he saw them. They decided to ask the
00:15:58
Speaker 1: snow men for help. Jolly walked up to a snow
00:16:02
Speaker 1: man who had their back turned to them. The snow
00:16:06
Speaker 1: man wore a bright orange scarf and a fancy green
00:16:10
Speaker 1: top hat on their head. Jolly tapped them on the
00:16:15
Speaker 1: shoulder and said, excuse me, can we ask you a question.
00:16:21
Speaker 1: The snow man turned around to face them, holding a
00:16:26
Speaker 1: blue snow cone in their hand. Ah, Hello there, the
00:16:32
Speaker 1: snow man greeted them in a high pitched voice. Jolly
00:16:37
Speaker 1: was surprised to see that the snow man was actually
00:16:42
Speaker 1: a snow woman. The snow woman introduced herself. I'm ollah,
00:16:48
Speaker 1: she said, cheerfully. How can I help you, little elves,
00:16:55
Speaker 1: Jolly asked Ollah the Snow Woman if she knew where
00:16:59
Speaker 1: they might find Jack Frost. Jingle explained what had happened
00:17:04
Speaker 1: in the toy workshop, and Jangle showed her the broken
00:17:08
Speaker 1: pieces of the machine that they needed to fix in
00:17:11
Speaker 1: time for the morning. They hoped that Jack Frost might
00:17:16
Speaker 1: be able to help weld them back together again with
00:17:19
Speaker 1: his icy magic. Allah the Snow Woman could see that
00:17:26
Speaker 1: they were in need of help, and she made a
00:17:29
Speaker 1: suggestion to the elves. She replied, I'm afraid I don't
00:17:35
Speaker 1: know where Jack Frost is. He could be anywhere in
00:17:38
Speaker 1: the world right now, but I might be able to
00:17:43
Speaker 1: help you. Us snow people have icy powers too, so
00:17:49
Speaker 1: maybe I could help you freeze the pieces back together again. Jingle,
00:17:56
Speaker 1: Jangle and Jolly were delighted that Allah the Snow Woman
00:18:00
Speaker 1: wanted to help them. They all planned to walk back
00:18:04
Speaker 1: to the toy workshop and use Olla's magic to try
00:18:09
Speaker 1: to put the machine back together again, but not before
00:18:14
Speaker 1: they had all enjoyed a sweet snow cone with Ollah
00:18:17
Speaker 1: and her friends. Jingle, Jangle, Jolly, and Olla walked back
00:18:25
Speaker 1: past the reindeer stables towards the workshop. On the way,
00:18:31
Speaker 1: they spotted a bright light shining through the dark night air.
00:18:36
Speaker 1: They watched carefully as the white light approached them. What
00:18:43
Speaker 1: is that light, Jingle asked curiously. Jangle tutted and answered,
00:18:53
Speaker 1: is the reindeer. Of course, who else do you know
00:18:57
Speaker 1: with noses that glow in the dark. As the bright
00:19:02
Speaker 1: light got closer, Raffi the reindeer came into view. He
00:19:08
Speaker 1: stopped at the fence to the reindeer enclosure and greeted
00:19:12
Speaker 1: the four passers by good evening everyone. Raffi said, what
00:19:19
Speaker 1: brings you all out this way so late on a
00:19:22
Speaker 1: winter night? Jingle Jangle and Jolly retold the story of
00:19:29
Speaker 1: the unfortunate series of events that had led to the
00:19:33
Speaker 1: breaking of the toy machine, and Ollah added that she
00:19:38
Speaker 1: was going to try to help fix the machine. Raffi
00:19:42
Speaker 1: was sorry to hear that the elves were having such
00:19:45
Speaker 1: trouble at such an important time of the year. He
00:19:50
Speaker 1: offered to come and help too, in whatever way he could. Jingle,
00:19:56
Speaker 1: Jangle and Jolly were very grateful to have the assistance
00:20:01
Speaker 1: of two enchanted creatures. Everyone at the North Pole was
00:20:07
Speaker 1: always so helpful. All five of them made their way
00:20:12
Speaker 1: to the toy workshop to come up with a plan
00:20:15
Speaker 1: of action. Once inside the cozy walls of the workshop,
00:20:22
Speaker 1: they inspected the broken machine. Raffi shone his bright, glowing
00:20:29
Speaker 1: nose inside the machine to inspect the damage. The cogs
00:20:35
Speaker 1: that made the whole mechanism work had really taken a
00:20:39
Speaker 1: battering thanks to the super bouncy ball. This was going
00:20:45
Speaker 1: to be a tougher job than they first thought, but
00:20:50
Speaker 1: the five friends were not disheartened. If they worked together
00:20:55
Speaker 1: as a team, then surely they could come up with
00:21:00
Speaker 1: the solution. Jolly checked his watch. Time was ticking away
00:21:07
Speaker 1: and it was almost midnight. The rest of the worker
00:21:12
Speaker 1: elves would be in again for work at seven o'clock,
00:21:16
Speaker 1: so they didn't have very much time to fix the machine.
00:21:21
Speaker 1: Jingle and Jangle matched up the broken pieces together like
00:21:26
Speaker 1: a jigsaw puzzle, and Ollah the snow woman, used her
00:21:31
Speaker 1: icy powers to freeze and thaw the cogs back together again.
00:21:38
Speaker 1: Jingle and Jangle held the broken pieces in place, and
00:21:43
Speaker 1: Ollah closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and blew
00:21:48
Speaker 1: out cold air from her mouth. Icicles formed and wrapped
00:21:55
Speaker 1: themselves around the cogs, welding the broken pieces back together.
00:22:02
Speaker 1: Allah did a very good job at fixing the shattered cogs.
00:22:08
Speaker 1: Once they were finished, Jingle and Jangle tested the strength
00:22:14
Speaker 1: of the newly welded pieces by holding either end of
00:22:19
Speaker 1: them and pulling them apart as hard as they could. Thankfully,
00:22:26
Speaker 1: they were frozen solid and there was no breaking them.
00:22:31
Speaker 1: Once Ollah had worked her magic, with the machine parts
00:22:37
Speaker 1: finally frozen back together again, they could attempt to reapply
00:22:42
Speaker 1: them to the machine. The only problem was that neither Jingle, Jangle, Jolly,
00:22:49
Speaker 1: Ollah or Raffi had ever fixed a machine before. Raffi
00:22:56
Speaker 1: shone his glowing nose into the machine and Jingle, Jangle
00:23:01
Speaker 1: and Jolly tried to work out where the fixed pieces
00:23:06
Speaker 1: needed to go. The inside of the machine was very intricate,
00:23:13
Speaker 1: and if one piece was out of place and the
00:23:16
Speaker 1: whole machine wouldn't work. The five of them worked for hours,
00:23:23
Speaker 1: trying over and over again to put the pieces in
00:23:29
Speaker 1: the right place. However, as dawn quickly approached and they
00:23:36
Speaker 1: could see the sun beginning to rise out of the windows,
00:23:41
Speaker 1: they realized that they were running out of time. Jolly
00:23:48
Speaker 1: sat down on a workbench and sighed. All year long,
00:23:54
Speaker 1: he had worked hard organizing the other elves, and making
00:23:59
Speaker 1: sure that they were on schedule for the presents to
00:24:03
Speaker 1: be delivered on Christmas Eve. But now with just nine
00:24:08
Speaker 1: days to go and a broken toy making machine on
00:24:13
Speaker 1: their hands, they weren't going to be ready on time.
00:24:18
Speaker 1: Jolly hoped that Santa wouldn't be too disappointed. Jingle, Jangle,
00:24:27
Speaker 1: Olah and Raffi felt sorry for Jolly as he professed,
00:24:35
Speaker 1: It's supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year,
00:24:40
Speaker 1: but it's turned into a total disaster. Right at that moment,
00:24:49
Speaker 1: a surprising voice sounded from behind them. All Oh, I
00:24:56
Speaker 1: don't know about that, said the familiar voice. They all
00:25:02
Speaker 1: turned round to see that Missus Claws had joined them
00:25:06
Speaker 1: in the workshop without them noticing. They all eagerly said
00:25:13
Speaker 1: hello to missus Claws, and she walked up to Jolly
00:25:17
Speaker 1: and sat by his side. She wrapped her arm around
00:25:21
Speaker 1: his sad little shoulders and asked what was the matter.
00:25:28
Speaker 1: Jolly explained what had happened and how they couldn't work
00:25:32
Speaker 1: out how to get the machine to work again. They
00:25:36
Speaker 1: had tried ever so hard for many hours, but they
00:25:41
Speaker 1: just couldn't get it right. Missus Claws gazed at the
00:25:47
Speaker 1: machine and thought, then she said, I do believe I
00:25:55
Speaker 1: have worked on a machine similar to this one before.
00:26:00
Speaker 1: I'll take a look at it and see if I
00:26:03
Speaker 1: can spot anything that you might have missed. Missus Claws
00:26:09
Speaker 1: pottered over to the toy making machine and Raffy shone
00:26:13
Speaker 1: his bright nose inside for her to see better. Missus
00:26:18
Speaker 1: Claws got stuck in rummaging around, swapping cogs over and
00:26:25
Speaker 1: rearranging gearsticks. The rest of the gang waited patiently, hoping
00:26:32
Speaker 1: that missus Claws could help. Eventually, missus Claws emerged from
00:26:39
Speaker 1: working on the machine, covered in soot and oil. She
00:26:44
Speaker 1: placed her hands on her hips and looked around the
00:26:48
Speaker 1: workshop with a puzzled look on her face. We are
00:26:54
Speaker 1: missing a very important piece, she declared. The mis machine
00:27:00
Speaker 1: won't work without it. Jingle and Jangle jumped to their
00:27:06
Speaker 1: feet and asked what was missing. She informed them that
00:27:12
Speaker 1: a metal rod was gone that connected all of the
00:27:16
Speaker 1: cogs together. Once they found that rod, the machine should
00:27:22
Speaker 1: work again perfectly. Straight away, Jingle, Jangle, Jolly Olah and
00:27:31
Speaker 1: Raffi began searching the workshop from top to bottom. It
00:27:38
Speaker 1: was six o'clock in the morning now, and there was
00:27:42
Speaker 1: only an hour to go until the machine needed to
00:27:46
Speaker 1: work again. They looked everywhere, but they couldn't find the
00:27:52
Speaker 1: missing metal rod. That is until Jangle glanced at the
00:27:59
Speaker 1: pile of knitted sweaters he had been making earlier. Perched
00:28:05
Speaker 1: between two tiny blue sweaters was the metal rod. It
00:28:11
Speaker 1: must have flown out of the machine and landed quietly
00:28:16
Speaker 1: on the bed of knitting in the midst of all
00:28:18
Speaker 1: the excitement. Delightedly, Jangle grabbed the metal rod and handed
00:28:25
Speaker 1: it to Missus Claws. She beckoned all five of them
00:28:30
Speaker 1: over and said that she would need some help in
00:28:34
Speaker 1: reapplying the rod to the machine. Missus Claws handed out
00:28:40
Speaker 1: her instructions. Raffi was to use his bright nose to
00:28:46
Speaker 1: light up the inside of the machine while she held
00:28:51
Speaker 1: the metal rod in place. Jingle and Jangle were to
00:28:55
Speaker 1: slide the fixed cogs back onto the rod, and Dollie
00:29:00
Speaker 1: was to hold a bolt in place at the end
00:29:04
Speaker 1: to stop them from sliding off. Finally, when everything was
00:29:10
Speaker 1: in position, Ollah the snow Woman would use her icy
00:29:15
Speaker 1: powers to freeze everything together in place. With a bit
00:29:21
Speaker 1: of luck and teamwork, the toy making machine should be
00:29:26
Speaker 1: up and running again in no time. They all followed
00:29:34
Speaker 1: Missus Claws's instructions precisely and worked together to fix the
00:29:40
Speaker 1: inside of the machine. When their work was done, they
00:29:46
Speaker 1: all stepped back and admired the toy machine. It looked fixed,
00:29:53
Speaker 1: but they wouldn't know for sure until they switched it on.
00:29:58
Speaker 1: It was time for them moment of truth. They all
00:30:03
Speaker 1: stood back and Jolly the Elf walked over to the
00:30:08
Speaker 1: button to start the machine. He took a deep breath,
00:30:14
Speaker 1: said a little prayer, and pressed the button. The machine
00:30:20
Speaker 1: chugged sluggishly for a few beats, and they all momentarily
00:30:26
Speaker 1: thought that their efforts had been in vain. But then miraculously,
00:30:34
Speaker 1: the machine kicked into full swing and it began to
00:30:40
Speaker 1: tick and were like normal. They all watched as a
00:30:46
Speaker 1: perfectly constructed jack in the box rolled out along the
00:30:52
Speaker 1: conveyor belt. Missus Claws wound up the jack in the
00:30:57
Speaker 1: box and it worked perfectly. Jingle jangle, Jolly, Olla and
00:31:07
Speaker 1: Raffi all cheered and sighed with relief as the little
00:31:12
Speaker 1: doll on the end of the spring bobbed from side
00:31:17
Speaker 1: to side. Thank you so much, Missus Claws, Jolly cried,
00:31:25
Speaker 1: giving her a big hug. Missus Claws hugged him back,
00:31:30
Speaker 1: and smiled. It wasn't just me, missus Claws reminded him.
00:31:38
Speaker 1: You all worked together to make this happen. You should
00:31:43
Speaker 1: all be very proud of yourselves and grateful to each other.
00:31:50
Speaker 1: The five friends hugged and high fived one another and
00:31:55
Speaker 1: celebrated their success. At that moment, the front door to
00:32:03
Speaker 1: the toy workshop opened and a stream of elf workers
00:32:08
Speaker 1: started to enter the building, ready for another day of
00:32:13
Speaker 1: toy making. Jingle, Jangle, and Jolly prepared to spring into
00:32:21
Speaker 1: action when Missus Claws placed a hand on Jolly's shoulder,
00:32:28
Speaker 1: stopping him in his tracks. She whispered, I think that
00:32:35
Speaker 1: you three deserve the day off, don't you think. Jolly
00:32:42
Speaker 1: looked at Jingle and Jangle, who were yawning and stretching,
00:32:47
Speaker 1: and he rubbed his own drowsy eyes. He looked at
00:32:52
Speaker 1: missus Claws and agreed she was right. They definitely awe
00:33:00
Speaker 1: deserved some time to rest after such an eventful night.
00:33:07
Speaker 1: Jolly passed on his day's duties to his assistant manager,
00:33:13
Speaker 1: and he granted Jingle and Jangle permission to take the
00:33:18
Speaker 1: day off work. Hollah the Snowwoman and Raffi the Reindeer
00:33:25
Speaker 1: waved them all goodbye and returned to their own homes
00:33:30
Speaker 1: to relax and sleep. While the three elves walked back
00:33:35
Speaker 1: to their houses, just as Jolly was about to go
00:33:41
Speaker 1: inside his house, he called out to Jingle and Jangle
00:33:46
Speaker 1: a heart felt thank you. Thank you for all your
00:33:51
Speaker 1: help tonight. He said, Hugh did a great job and
00:33:57
Speaker 1: helped save Christmas for lots of boys and girls. Jingle
00:34:03
Speaker 1: and Jangle smiled and waved. There was nothing more important
00:34:09
Speaker 1: to them and they would do it all over again
00:34:14
Speaker 1: if they had to. The three elves went their separate
00:34:20
Speaker 1: ways and tucked themselves up in their comfy, cozy beds
00:34:26
Speaker 1: for a well deserved rest. Christmas preparations were back on track,
00:34:34
Speaker 1: and that day, while they all enjoyed a long, long sleep,
00:34:42
Speaker 1: they dreamt about their highly anticipated holiday that would begin
00:34:48
Speaker 1: on Christmas Day. They couldn't wait to finally put their
00:34:55
Speaker 1: feet up for a couple of months until preparation would
00:35:01
Speaker 1: begin again for next year.
