Speaker 1: inviting them to visit a magical place called Halloween Village.

Speaker 1: The gathered pupils chatted excitedly about what they would do

Speaker 1: Twins Jake and Lily Jupiter, were among the excited pupils,

Speaker 1: at Halloween Village. Lily looked at her back shaped invite.

Speaker 1: She'd kept it safely in her pocket ever since it

Speaker 1: had flown down to her in the middle of dinner

Speaker 1: last Wednesday. She looked at it for the twenty fifth

Speaker 1: time and read the words with a smile on her face.

Speaker 1: Jake looked at his sister and joked, you'll wear the

Speaker 1: words out if you keep reading them. You know, we

Speaker 1: don't need to take the invitations with us. Lily nodded

Speaker 1: and said, I know, but I want to take it,

Speaker 1: and I'm going to keep it forever. I've been dreaming

Speaker 1: about going to Halloween Village ever since I can remember.

Speaker 1: She grinned at Jake, her eyes twinkling in excitement. I

Speaker 1: just can't wait to go. When do you think we'll

Speaker 1: set off? Jake grinned back and said she didn't have

Speaker 1: to wait much longer because their head teacher, Doctor Howard,

Speaker 1: had just walked into the hall. Dr Howard's long hair

Speaker 1: was black instead of her usual navy. Small orange sequins

Speaker 1: in the shape of pumpkins were threaded through her wavy hair,

Speaker 1: and they glimmered and shimmered in the light. She was

Speaker 1: wearing a floor length black dress which was edged with

Speaker 1: more pumpkin shaped orange sequins, and a broomstick was held

Speaker 1: firmly in one hand. The head teacher said good evening

Speaker 1: to the children and asked if they had their broomsticks ready.

Speaker 1: The children raised their broomsticks to confirm that they did.

Speaker 1: Dr Howard nodded and smiled. She walked into the middle

Speaker 1: of the hall and stopped. She looked upwards at the ceiling,

Speaker 1: held up one hand, and recited the words of a

Speaker 1: Halloween spell. It was in a language that none of

Speaker 1: the children had heard before. A light, crackling sound came

Speaker 1: from the ceiling. Sparkles of orange light zipped across it

Speaker 1: like flickering lightning. The students watched wide eyed as the

Speaker 1: ceiling faded away and the night sky came into view.

Speaker 1: The stars shone more brightly than ever before, and the

Speaker 1: full moon looked like it had doubled in size. Lily

Speaker 1: whispered to Jake, how is this even possible? The school

Speaker 1: is underground. Jake replied, I've no idea. Maybe there's extra

Speaker 1: magic in the air tonight. Doctor Howard lowered her hand.

Speaker 1: She told the students to climb onto their broomsticks because

Speaker 1: their Halloween guides would be arriving shortly. There was a

Speaker 1: low rustle of bristles as the students settled themselves on

Speaker 1: their broomsticks. As part of their education at the academy,

Speaker 1: each pupil had to attend broom flying lesson. To their relief,

Speaker 1: it was much easier than they had expected, and each

Speaker 1: pupil had easily passed their exam and been given a

Speaker 1: flying license. A fluttering sound slowly filled the air. Looking upwards,

Speaker 1: the students saw a cluster of fuzzy bats hovering overhead,

Speaker 1: their wings slowly flapping. Each bat was wearing a sparkling

Speaker 1: orange waistcoat. Doctor Howard told the students the bats would

Speaker 1: lead the way to Halloween Village, and advised them to

Speaker 1: form lines behind her. She settled herself sideways on her
00:04:48
Speaker 1: broomstick and rose towards the star filled sky.
