They arrived at Dr Howard's office and knocked on the door. From within her office, Dr Howard called out a hello and asked them to come in. The twins stepped into the room and saw Doctor Howard sitting behind her desk. She gave them a smile of welcome and asked them to take a seat. The twins sat down and wondered what their head teacher was going to say. Doctor Howard smiled at the twins again and said, Lily Jake, thank you for coming here so quickly. I have a matter that you might be able to help me with. My good friend Gwendolen needs some assistance of a magical nature. And when I heard what her problem was, I immediately thought of you two. Gwendolen is a griffin. I've known her for years and this is the first time she's asked me for help of any kind. Lily and Jake sat up straighter and waited for Doctor Howard to continue. Dr Howard explained that her friend had a special talent for finding lost items. Gwendolen was often called upon when someone had lost an item, and it never took her long to locate it. In addition to that, as Gwendolen went about her day, she regularly came upon random objects that were scattered around the land where she lived. Her instincts always told her which objects were lost and which ones had been placed there on purpose to be collected by the owners. Later. Gwendolen would take the lost items with her and store them in her castle. Everyone knew about her castle of lost and found things, and if they had an item that had been misplaced that they just couldn't find, they would call at the castle to check with Gwendolen to see if she'd already found it. Doctor Howard paused for a moment, gave the twins a small smile, and continued, Unfortunately, Gwendolen has lost a precious item of her own and can't find it anywhere. That's where you two come in. I would like you to visit Gwendolen at her castle and help her with this problem. Do you know what she has lost? Jake asked Doctor Howard shook her head. Gwendolen didn't say in her message. In fact, she said she's a bit embarrassed to be contacting me at all, considering what her job is. Jake, Lily, I know you've been busy with your studies all day, but would you mind going to Gwendolen's castle now? I can tell from the tone of her message that she is somewhat concerned about the missing item.
