Speaker 1: the wooden roofs. There was a huge lake at the

Speaker 1: fast side of the camp, and canoes sailed smoothly across

Speaker 1: its glittering blue surface. Behind the lake was a lush

Speaker 1: green forest. A colorful sign welcomed visitors to Kitten Summer Camp.

Speaker 1: Nutmeg's mum drove into the camp and parked next to

Speaker 1: a row of other vehicles. She switched off the engine

Speaker 1: and released her seat belt. She turned around in her seat,

Speaker 1: smiled at Nutmeg and said ready Ready. Nutmeg confirmed her

Speaker 1: smiled just as big as her mum's. Nutmeg and her

Speaker 1: mum got out of their car. The gentle scent of

Speaker 1: pine and blooming blossoms filled the air, and they heard

Speaker 1: the cheerful chirping of birds in the treetops. They collected

Speaker 1: their bags from the car and headed towards the reception building.

Speaker 1: As they approached it, two cats wearing uniforms of blue

Speaker 1: Nutmeg's mom for offering her help that week. Nutmeg was

Speaker 1: relieved to have her mom there. Even though Nutmeg had

Speaker 1: finished first grade and felt very grown up, she still

Speaker 1: needed her mum sometimes. Smudge said to Nutmeg, we have
