Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Koua La Moon, a podcast

00:00:14

Speaker 1: of original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make

00:00:19

Speaker 1: bedtime a dream. Tonight, we're welcoming some new arrivals to

00:00:24

Speaker 1: Sleepy Forest Elementary School, and they have traveled far. Joining

00:00:29

Speaker 1: Coco and Kira's class are two golden lion monkeys fresh

00:00:34

Speaker 1: from the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, and they're excited but

00:00:38

Speaker 1: also a little bit homesick. Plus one of them has

00:00:41

Speaker 1: a birthday coming up. It's a lot Fortunately our kind.

00:00:45

Speaker 1: Little Cocoa knows just the thing that will help settle

00:00:48

Speaker 1: them in and give them a chance to celebrate a party,

00:00:51

Speaker 1: of course, but this isn't any old party. This is

00:00:55

Speaker 1: the first of its kind, and I don't think the last.

00:00:58

Speaker 1: It sounds awesome. Okay, jump into bed and get ready

00:01:01

Speaker 1: to rest and relax. As we hear how Cocoa and

00:01:04

Speaker 1: Kira open a new venue on Sleepy River, especially for

00:01:08

Speaker 1: their brand new friends. Close your eyes, his time to begin.

00:01:14

Speaker 1: Coco Cobana by Luke Prendergast. Deep in the heart of

00:01:25

Speaker 1: a far away forest stood a cozy, wooden cabin. Inside

00:01:29

Speaker 1: the cabin lived a family of koalas. Coco lived with

00:01:33

Speaker 1: his whole family, his mom and dad, his grandma and grandpa,

00:01:37

Speaker 1: and his little sister, Kira, the panda. Kira hadn't always

00:01:41

Speaker 1: lived there. She had arrived over a year ago from

00:01:44

Speaker 1: somewhere outside of Sleepy Forest when Coco's parents adopted up

00:01:48

Speaker 1: and now Kira called Sleepy Forest home. It had taken

00:01:52

Speaker 1: a while to settle in, but she absolutely loved it there,

00:01:55

Speaker 1: and she loved her family of koalas too. Neither Coco

00:01:59

Speaker 1: nor nor Kira could imagine life without the other. One

00:02:04

Speaker 1: morning at Sleepy Forest Elementary School, their teacher, missus Meryfeathers,

00:02:08

Speaker 1: fluttered her big soft owl wings and said she had

00:02:12

Speaker 1: an announcement to make listen up. Everybody settled down, Now,

00:02:19

Speaker 1: settled down. I have someone I want to introduce to

00:02:25

Speaker 1: you all today. We have two new students joining us.

00:02:31

Speaker 1: They are joining us in Sleepy Forest from another forest

00:02:36

Speaker 1: far away on the other side of the world, the

00:02:41

Speaker 1: Amazon rain Forest. Everybody, this is Paloma and Maya. They're

00:02:49

Speaker 1: sisters and their golden lion monkeys. Straightway, Coco could see

00:02:57

Speaker 1: why these monkeys were called golden lion monkeys. The student

00:03:02

Speaker 1: standing next to Missus Merriyfeathers was very small, and the

00:03:05

Speaker 1: one next to her was even smaller. They had a

00:03:09

Speaker 1: little black face and a mass of the most luxuriously

00:03:13

Speaker 1: golden colored hair you could ever imagine. It was as

00:03:17

Speaker 1: though Koko thought someone had flown up to the sky

00:03:21

Speaker 1: and bottled some of the sun then used it to

00:03:25

Speaker 1: paint the monkey's fur. That's how brilliantly golden they shone.

00:03:31

Speaker 1: Ullah said Maya, and Ullah said Paloma a little shyly.

00:03:38

Speaker 1: That's how we say hello in the Amazon rainforest. Paloma explained,

00:03:44

Speaker 1: it's nice to meet you all. Welcome, Paloma and Maya.

00:03:50

Speaker 1: All of the students of Sleepy Forest Elementary called back

00:03:53

Speaker 1: to them, and they all gave them smiles and little waves.

00:03:57

Speaker 1: Missus Merryfeathers said that they should take seat next to Coco,

00:04:01

Speaker 1: who she said was very friendly. Indeed, so Coco scooched

00:04:06

Speaker 1: up along the desk to make room for the little monkeys.

00:04:10

Speaker 1: Welcome to sleep beforeest you two, Coco whispered to them,

00:04:14

Speaker 1: as Maya took out her clear pencil case and unzipped it,

00:04:18

Speaker 1: and ploma took out her pink one. You're going to

00:04:21

Speaker 1: love it here. You'll see. It's such a cozy, peaceful place,

00:04:26

Speaker 1: and just the right amount of adventure sprinkled here and there,

00:04:30

Speaker 1: and there are lots and lots of folks to be

00:04:33

Speaker 1: friends with, like me, I can be your first Sleepy

00:04:37

Speaker 1: Forest friend. Ploma gave him a big toothy grin and

00:04:42

Speaker 1: said she was very happy, indeed, to have made her

00:04:45

Speaker 1: first friend. Her sister giggled and agreed, and after that

00:04:50

Speaker 1: Coco and the little monkeys spent the whole day chatting,

00:04:54

Speaker 1: but only when missus Merrifeathers said they were allowed to

00:04:57

Speaker 1: be chatting. Of course, Coco told the girls lots of

00:05:01

Speaker 1: stories about all the creatures who lived in Sleepy Forest

00:05:06

Speaker 1: and the adventures they'd been on. He told them about

00:05:10

Speaker 1: Buck the beaver who built beautiful dams, and about Hamper

00:05:13

Speaker 1: the hare who found a magical food basket, and about

00:05:17

Speaker 1: the time Swifty herself came and put on a concert

00:05:21

Speaker 1: down by Sleepy River, and how he and Kira had

00:05:25

Speaker 1: got to go with their grandpa. In turn, Coco listened

00:05:30

Speaker 1: to the monkey story and learned a lot about them too.

00:05:34

Speaker 1: He learned about the Amazon rainforest and about how it

00:05:38

Speaker 1: was so warm and wet that a thick mist often

00:05:41

Speaker 1: hung between the dark, dripping leaves of the jungle trees.

00:05:45

Speaker 1: Sometimes it got so hot they all went down to

00:05:49

Speaker 1: the cabana by the river to have a little party,

00:05:52

Speaker 1: or in Portuguese, a festa and a swim. What's a cabana, Coco,

00:06:00

Speaker 1: I asked. It's like a little beach hut, Maya explained,

00:06:06

Speaker 1: where you can hang out and listen to music and

00:06:10

Speaker 1: paddle in the water. Ah ha, said Coco, nodding, now

00:06:16

Speaker 1: he understood. Paloma explained to him that their family had

00:06:21

Speaker 1: moved to Sleepy Forest because their dad had decided he'd

00:06:25

Speaker 1: like a bit of a slower pace of life, Thank

00:06:28

Speaker 1: you very much. And he also learned that that weekend

00:06:32

Speaker 1: it was Maya's birthday. This weekend, Coco asked, glancing up

00:06:38

Speaker 1: from coloring in a picture of a helicopter. Maya nodded,

00:06:42

Speaker 1: her tufts of golden hair swishing from side to side. Cool,

00:06:47

Speaker 1: Coco said, And what are you going to do to celebrate, oh,

00:06:53

Speaker 1: said Maya a little sheepishly. Nothing, I guess, after all,

00:06:58

Speaker 1: I only just got here. I think I'll probably just

00:07:02

Speaker 1: hang out with Paloma and our parents. Ko Ko nodded

00:07:06

Speaker 1: and smiled. That sounds nice, he said, and turned back

00:07:12

Speaker 1: to coloring in his helicopter But later, as he and

00:07:16

Speaker 1: Kira were walking back home through the broad forest tree

00:07:19

Speaker 1: trunks after school, ko Ko turned to her. Hey, Kira,

00:07:26

Speaker 1: you know the new kids who arrived to Day, Paloma A, Maya. Ah, Yes,

00:07:32

Speaker 1: said Kira. They seem super cool. I can't wait to

00:07:36

Speaker 1: make better friends with them. They are pretty cool. Ko

00:07:40

Speaker 1: Ko agreed. One thing I've found out to day is

00:07:45

Speaker 1: that it's Meyer's birthday this weekend. But because they're new

00:07:50

Speaker 1: here and don't know any one, they're just going to

00:07:52

Speaker 1: spend it at home. But I was thinking that maybe

00:07:57

Speaker 1: we could throw a surprise celebration so that they feel

00:08:01

Speaker 1: truly welcomed in Sleepy Forest and Maya gets to celebrate

00:08:05

Speaker 1: her birthday properly. What do you think? Kira was nodding

00:08:11

Speaker 1: so energetically Coco thought her head might fall off. Oh Coco,

00:08:17

Speaker 1: she cried, I think that's just the most brilliant idea ever.

00:08:23

Speaker 1: I remember when I first arrived in Sleepy Forest and

00:08:26

Speaker 1: didn't know anyone, you and your friends made me feel

00:08:30

Speaker 1: so welcome. Well that's what I'm hoping we can do

00:08:36

Speaker 1: for Mayra and Paloma two, Coco said, except he added,

00:08:42

Speaker 1: I don't really know what kind of party to throw hm.

00:08:49

Speaker 1: Kira sighed, stroking her fluffy chin thoughtfully and taking a

00:08:54

Speaker 1: few more steps through the trees. She was trying to

00:08:58

Speaker 1: cast her mind back to exactly how she'd felt when

00:09:02

Speaker 1: she first arrived in Sleepy Forest. I think that when

00:09:08

Speaker 1: you first arrived somewhere, you're missing the place you came

00:09:12

Speaker 1: from at the same time as you're excited about being

00:09:15

Speaker 1: in a new place. Those two feelings exist simultaneously. So

00:09:22

Speaker 1: I think that the best thing you can do is

00:09:26

Speaker 1: to have a celebration that combines the place they came

00:09:30

Speaker 1: from with the place they've come to, something that brings

00:09:34

Speaker 1: the Amazon to Sleepy Forest. Kind of thing you mean,

00:09:41

Speaker 1: said Cocoa, recalling what the girls had told him earlier.

00:09:45

Speaker 1: You mean, we should throw a Brazilian festa in a

00:09:50

Speaker 1: cabana down by the river. Kira's eyebrows shot up with surprise.

00:09:57

Speaker 1: She was impressed. Well, she said, I guess that's exactly

00:10:03

Speaker 1: what I mean. And so the plan was fixed. They

00:10:08

Speaker 1: would throw their new friends a festa in a cabanner

00:10:12

Speaker 1: down by the river. But first of all, they needed

00:10:15

Speaker 1: to find a cabanner. They asked around all the residents

00:10:20

Speaker 1: of the forest, but as it turned out there wasn't

00:10:23

Speaker 1: a single cabanner around, so instead they went to Buck

00:10:27

Speaker 1: the beaver, who was famous for being able to build

00:10:30

Speaker 1: anything you could imagine using just a pile of wood

00:10:33

Speaker 1: and his pair of sharp front teeth. Buck was sitting

00:10:37

Speaker 1: on his down on the river wearing his usual red

00:10:40

Speaker 1: plaid shirt and fluffy ear muffs. When Buck saw Cocoa

00:10:45

Speaker 1: and Kira come a knocking, he gave them a wave

00:10:48

Speaker 1: and said, what can I do for you? Do to day? Then,

00:10:52

Speaker 1: Cocoa and Kira explained that they needed a cabanner so

00:10:56

Speaker 1: that they could throw a festa for their new friends

00:10:58

Speaker 1: Paloma and Mayer. It needed to have three sides and

00:11:03

Speaker 1: a straw roof, and a deck where they could put

00:11:07

Speaker 1: sun lounges, and a table covered in glasses of fresh juice.

00:11:12

Speaker 1: Did Buck think this was something he could do well?

00:11:16

Speaker 1: Cocoa and Kira said, Buck, there ain't nothin' a had

00:11:21

Speaker 1: trouble making yet, name it to me. I'll get your

00:11:25

Speaker 1: cabanner built for you. Happy that the cabaner building was

00:11:31

Speaker 1: in Buck's safe and capable hands, Next, Cocoa and Kira

00:11:35

Speaker 1: turned their attentions towards the question of activities for a

00:11:40

Speaker 1: water side festa. You needed all sorts of fun things

00:11:44

Speaker 1: to do on the water, like rubber ring and inflatable

00:11:49

Speaker 1: toys and a little dinghy for floating up and down.

00:11:54

Speaker 1: But where were they going to find those? Then Kira

00:11:58

Speaker 1: had a little brain wave. I know just where we

00:12:02

Speaker 1: can go, She said, Pickle the Frog's Home, Sweet Home hotel.

00:12:07

Speaker 1: They've got a swimming pool for the guests down there,

00:12:10

Speaker 1: don't they. I'm sure if they have a swimming pool

00:12:14

Speaker 1: they'll have all kinds of toys and paraphernalia for the water.

00:12:20

Speaker 1: What a good idea, Kira. Coco exclaimed. Let's go and

00:12:26

Speaker 1: visit Pickle and ask. So Coco and Kira made their

00:12:31

Speaker 1: way through the forest to where pickles brand new hotel stood.

00:12:36

Speaker 1: They went up to the door and knocked, and soon

00:12:40

Speaker 1: enough heard the croak of Pickle's voice from within. Come in.

00:12:46

Speaker 1: In the hotel lobby, it was fresh and cool. Staircases

00:12:51

Speaker 1: led up to the top floors and down into the

00:12:54

Speaker 1: caves below the hotel, and right in the middle was Pickles,

00:12:59

Speaker 1: where wearing a smart suit and a bow tie and

00:13:03

Speaker 1: standing behind the reception desk. Ah, Hello Coco, Hello Kira.

00:13:10

Speaker 1: He said, Well, this is a rather delightful surprise. You see,

00:13:16

Speaker 1: I was expecting guests, but you live so close by.

00:13:20

Speaker 1: I don't suppose you're looking for a room in the

00:13:23

Speaker 1: Home Sweet Home Hotel today, are you? Sadly not today,

00:13:28

Speaker 1: mister Pickle, Kira said, In fact, today, we come with

00:13:33

Speaker 1: a favor to ask you. Ah, said Pickle, A favor, Well,

00:13:42

Speaker 1: then go ahead. Cocoa and Kira explained to Pickle that

00:13:47

Speaker 1: they were throwing a festa in a cabana down by

00:13:50

Speaker 1: the river for the Golden Lion Monkey sisters. Pickle took

00:13:55

Speaker 1: all this information in with a look of befuddlement on

00:13:58

Speaker 1: his face, but once he'd got it all worked out

00:14:00

Speaker 1: in his head, he nodded as a signal for them

00:14:03

Speaker 1: to carry on. And so they explained that they didn't

00:14:06

Speaker 1: have any water equipment inflatables, a dinghy, that kind of

00:14:11

Speaker 1: thing to use at the festa. They knew that the

00:14:14

Speaker 1: Home Sweet Home Hotel had a swimming pool, and they

00:14:18

Speaker 1: wondered if Pickle had any swimming pool paraphernalia that they

00:14:21

Speaker 1: could borrow pretty please. Pickle looked first at Coco and

00:14:27

Speaker 1: then at Kira. Now you too, he said, Do you

00:14:34

Speaker 1: have any idea why the Home Sweet Home Hotel is

00:14:39

Speaker 1: called the Home Sweet Home Hotel. Cocoa and Takira exchanged

00:14:45

Speaker 1: a look. They certainly did know why the hotel had

00:14:49

Speaker 1: the name it had. Pickle told anyone and everyone any

00:14:53

Speaker 1: chance he got, But they also knew they had to

00:14:57

Speaker 1: feign ignorance. Nothing gave Pickle more more joy than telling

00:15:01

Speaker 1: this little tale, and Cocoa and Kiera needed him as

00:15:04

Speaker 1: full of joy as possible. The happier Pickle was, they figured,

00:15:09

Speaker 1: the more likely he was to let them borrow his

00:15:12

Speaker 1: swimming pool equipment. Oh I think I did know, once,

00:15:18

Speaker 1: said Kia, in the sweetest voice she could possibly muster.

00:15:22

Speaker 1: But I seemed to have utterly forgotten. Could you please

00:15:27

Speaker 1: remind us? Gladly, said Pickle, and he cleared his throat.

00:15:35

Speaker 1: The Home Sweet Home Hotel is called the Home Sweet

00:15:40

Speaker 1: Home Hotel, he told them, because it was my greatest

00:15:45

Speaker 1: dream to provide for any visitors to Sleepy Forest, when

00:15:50

Speaker 1: soever they may come, a place of rest and relaxation.

00:15:56

Speaker 1: It is easy to miss home when you are far away,

00:16:00

Speaker 1: and here we meet each and every guest's needs in

00:16:05

Speaker 1: whatever way we can. We want in the end, the

00:16:10

Speaker 1: Home Sweet Home Hotel to feel, in fact like a

00:16:14

Speaker 1: home away from home. That is why the Home Sweet

00:16:19

Speaker 1: Home Hotel has its name, and that is also wide,

00:16:25

Speaker 1: he concluded, smiling down at them both. It would be

00:16:30

Speaker 1: my absolute pleasure to make young Meyer and Paloma feel

00:16:35

Speaker 1: as at home as possible here in sleepy forest. So

00:16:41

Speaker 1: to the pool, follow me, Pickle the Frog hopped outside

00:16:48

Speaker 1: to the swimming pool, with Cocoa and Kira following closely.

00:16:53

Speaker 1: He went up to the poolhouse, threw open the doors,

00:16:57

Speaker 1: and spread his arms wide. Will these do, he asked?

00:17:04

Speaker 1: Inside were a whole selection of inflatables, her blow up flamingo,

00:17:10

Speaker 1: a blow up unicorn, a whole load of floating noodles,

00:17:15

Speaker 1: some rubber rings, and a dinghy too. It was absolutely perfect,

00:17:22

Speaker 1: very good, said Pickle, smiling with satisfaction. I'll make sure

00:17:28

Speaker 1: to bring all of this down to the cabanner at

00:17:30

Speaker 1: the weekend in time for the festa. You can depend

00:17:34

Speaker 1: on me. Cocoa and Kira thanked Pickle profusely and headed

00:17:41

Speaker 1: back out into the forest. That they agreed was almost

00:17:46

Speaker 1: everything sorted. They'd organized a cabanner, and they'd organize plenty

00:17:52

Speaker 1: of fun water activities for the festa too. Now, said Kira,

00:17:59

Speaker 1: the only thing we need to sort out is having

00:18:02

Speaker 1: plenty of delicious nibbles and drinks so that everyone's tummies

00:18:07

Speaker 1: are completely satisfied. But she added, wrinkling her nose, who

00:18:13

Speaker 1: can we ask to help us with that? Cocoa raised

00:18:19

Speaker 1: his eyebrows at her. Well, Kira, just ask yourself the

00:18:24

Speaker 1: question who's the best cook in the hole of Sleepy Forest.

00:18:31

Speaker 1: Kira looked at him, then broke into a big smile. Mama,

00:18:37

Speaker 1: she said, Oh, of course, our makeles sorts of delicious

00:18:43

Speaker 1: treats for your festa. Cocoa and Kira's mom said, when

00:18:47

Speaker 1: they'd got back to their cozy little cabin in the woods,

00:18:50

Speaker 1: I think we need fruit juices with little umbrellas in them,

00:18:55

Speaker 1: chopped up mangoes and lemon and lime ice cream cake.

00:18:59

Speaker 1: Wouldn't you agree? Leave it with me? And so that evening,

00:19:05

Speaker 1: Cocoa and Kira went to bed, tired and satisfied they'd

00:19:10

Speaker 1: managed to get everything in order for the festa. They'd

00:19:14

Speaker 1: sent out the word to all of their friends at

00:19:16

Speaker 1: Sleepy Forest Elementary School. Now all they had to do

00:19:21

Speaker 1: was wait for the day to arrive. And when the

00:19:26

Speaker 1: day did arrive, they were amazed to see it was

00:19:30

Speaker 1: one of the most beautiful days Sleepy Forest had seen

00:19:34

Speaker 1: so far that year. With the sun burning brightly in

00:19:38

Speaker 1: the great expanse of blue sky, and a gentle breeze

00:19:43

Speaker 1: blowing through the leaves, it was just the kind of day.

00:19:48

Speaker 1: Cocoa and Kira agreed made for a festa in a

00:19:51

Speaker 1: cabana down by the water, and so they ate their breakfast,

00:19:57

Speaker 1: put on their favorite party gear, and headed down to

00:20:01

Speaker 1: Sleepy River, with their mum carrying with them the trays

00:20:05

Speaker 1: of goodies she'd been preparing. When they got there, they

00:20:09

Speaker 1: couldn't believe their eyes. Buck was there already, with the

00:20:13

Speaker 1: cabaner already set up an amazing little building that met

00:20:17

Speaker 1: their specification perfectly, a pretty wooden deck with bright yellow

00:20:23

Speaker 1: sun lounges on it and parasols too, with a straw

00:20:27

Speaker 1: roof on top. And Pickle had been down too for

00:20:31

Speaker 1: by the bank of Sleepy River were all the inflatables

00:20:35

Speaker 1: and moored to the edge. Bobbing on the water was

00:20:38

Speaker 1: the Dingy Oh. They both cried, hugging Buck the beaver.

00:20:44

Speaker 1: It's perfect. Soon all the other guests arrived in their

00:20:50

Speaker 1: swimming costumes, Camo the Chameleon and his magical trunks that

00:20:54

Speaker 1: changed color as much as he did, and prickles the

00:20:58

Speaker 1: hedgehog with a costume design and not to get caught

00:21:01

Speaker 1: on his spikes. Then there was a whispering. Maya and

00:21:05

Speaker 1: Paloma arriving. People were saying, sh said, ko cho, Let's

00:21:12

Speaker 1: make it a surprise. And so they waited in silence,

00:21:17

Speaker 1: listening to the crunching footsteps get closer and closer and closer,

00:21:25

Speaker 1: until from around the bend the two little monkeys appeared. Surprise,

00:21:34

Speaker 1: they cried, and Maya, near enough jumped right out of

00:21:37

Speaker 1: her ball of bright golden fur. Paloma, on the other hand,

00:21:41

Speaker 1: burst out into giggles. Wow, Maya said, looking at the

00:21:47

Speaker 1: cabanner and the inflatables, I had no idea. She looked

00:21:52

Speaker 1: at Paloma and her parents, who stood either side of them.

00:21:56

Speaker 1: Was this your idea, she asked them. Her mother shook

00:22:01

Speaker 1: her head. Oh, no, nothing to do with us, she said,

00:22:06

Speaker 1: This is all Cocoa and Kira's doing. Paloma grinned, I'm

00:22:13

Speaker 1: as surprised as you, she said. The girls looked over

00:22:19

Speaker 1: at Cocoa and Kira and beamed at them. Maya was

00:22:23

Speaker 1: holding back and grinning a little shyly, but when Paloma

00:22:28

Speaker 1: gave her a little nudge with her elbow. Her shyness disappeared.

00:22:33

Speaker 1: The two monkeys ran over to Cocoa and Kira and

00:22:37

Speaker 1: gave them each a big hug one by one. Oh

00:22:41

Speaker 1: thank you, Coco. Maya said, oh, thank you, Kia, this

00:22:45

Speaker 1: is the best surprise ever. Paloma agreed, then leant in

00:22:52

Speaker 1: and whispered in Coco's ear, thank you for doing this

00:22:56

Speaker 1: for my sister. Well guy, yes, Coco said, this is

00:23:03

Speaker 1: what Sleepy Forest is all about. Having a seriously good time,

00:23:09

Speaker 1: Happy birthday, Maya. For the rest of the afternoon they

00:23:13

Speaker 1: had the best cabanifesta in the history of cabanifesta. Some

00:23:19

Speaker 1: of the Sleepy Forest elementary students had bought their musical

00:23:22

Speaker 1: instruments so struck up some jolly music. They threw the

00:23:27

Speaker 1: inflatables into the river, and Maya and Paloma showed them

00:23:31

Speaker 1: how in the Amazon they would lie on the inflatables

00:23:34

Speaker 1: and float up and down the river and sometimes even

00:23:38

Speaker 1: push each other off. But that was okay because the

00:23:42

Speaker 1: water was so cool and refreshing in the heat of

00:23:45

Speaker 1: the day, it was a pleasure to dive right into it.

00:23:51

Speaker 1: Then Maya said, hey, do you want to know what

00:23:55

Speaker 1: their most fun thing is that we do in the Amazon. Yes, please,

00:24:00

Speaker 1: they replied, and so Maya found a particularly thick and

00:24:05

Speaker 1: long piece of vine on the forest floor and climbed

00:24:09

Speaker 1: up one of the big trees that stretched over the river.

00:24:14

Speaker 1: She found a perfect branch, then tied the vine to it. Watch,

00:24:20

Speaker 1: she shouted, from high above, we swing, And with that

00:24:27

Speaker 1: she took the end of the vine and leapt off

00:24:31

Speaker 1: the tree trunk. Down she plummeted, then up she soared, Then,

00:24:39

Speaker 1: taking a few perfect somersaults in the air, she dove

00:24:43

Speaker 1: straight down into the water, making barely the smallest of splashes.

00:24:49

Speaker 1: Paloma wasn't far behind her, swinging with a whoop and

00:24:54

Speaker 1: doing a perfect dive into the water. Oh oh, everyone

00:25:01

Speaker 1: watching cried. Then there was a chorus of oh Me,

00:25:06

Speaker 1: my turn, and the sleepy forest elementary school students formed

00:25:11

Speaker 1: an orderly cue by the tree trunks, and one by

00:25:14

Speaker 1: one soared and dove into the water on the makeshift swing.

00:25:23

Speaker 1: When they began to get tired, Cocoa and Kira's mum

00:25:27

Speaker 1: had it covered snack time, she called out, and they

00:25:32

Speaker 1: scurried over to the tables where she had laid out

00:25:34

Speaker 1: the magnificent feast. They sipt on long glasses of fruit

00:25:41

Speaker 1: juice with little umbrellas poking out of the tops. They

00:25:45

Speaker 1: wolfed down big slices of lemon and lime ice cream cake,

00:25:50

Speaker 1: and they chewed on sweet chunks of mango and pineapple,

00:25:55

Speaker 1: letting the juice dribble down their chins and licking it

00:25:59

Speaker 1: back up. Then, once they were full, they paddled the

00:26:04

Speaker 1: dinghy up and down the river and lay about on

00:26:08

Speaker 1: the sun loungers, sipping the water straight out of coconuts

00:26:12

Speaker 1: which buck the beaver board holes into the sun was

00:26:17

Speaker 1: setting now it sent a deep orange light across the

00:26:21

Speaker 1: pink sky and down through the trees of Sleepy Forest.

00:26:27

Speaker 1: The shadows got long, and the creatures playing the musical

00:26:31

Speaker 1: instrument changed their tunes. No longer was their jolly, uplifting music.

00:26:39

Speaker 1: Now they played gentle lullaby tune. One by one, all

00:26:46

Speaker 1: of the guests began to yawn. What a long and

00:26:50

Speaker 1: exciting day it had been, but it was time to

00:26:54

Speaker 1: go home. Happy birthday, Maya. Each of the games said,

00:27:01

Speaker 1: what an awesome party. Everyone agreed that this wouldn't be

00:27:08

Speaker 1: the last time they had a cabana festa down by

00:27:11

Speaker 1: the Sleepy river, definitely, said Maya. The cabaner isn't for

00:27:17

Speaker 1: one day only. The cabaner is for the whole year round.

00:27:23

Speaker 1: Poloma added, And this isn't any old cabana. This is

00:27:29

Speaker 1: a very special cabaner. He looked at Cocoa and gave

00:27:33

Speaker 1: him a big smile. It's the cabana of our best

00:27:38

Speaker 1: sleepy forest friend. It's the Cocoa Cabaner. Soon enough, the

00:27:45

Speaker 1: girls were falling asleep too, so their parents took them home,

00:27:50

Speaker 1: back to the tall tree where their treehouse was. Cocoa,

00:27:56

Speaker 1: Kira and their mom packed up the remainder of the

00:28:00

Speaker 1: food and made their way back through the forest. Darkness

00:28:06

Speaker 1: was setting in the birds were singing their evening song.

00:28:12

Speaker 1: Coco let out a big yawn. Then Kira caught it too,

00:28:18

Speaker 1: and after a moment even their mom was yawning. Coco

00:28:24

Speaker 1: and Kira's mom let out a little giggle. Wow, that

00:28:30

Speaker 1: was a very fun day indeed, and rather tiring too,

00:28:37

Speaker 1: wouldn't you agree? For a reply, Coco and Kira both

00:28:43

Speaker 1: just yawned again, well exactly, their mom said, with another

00:28:50

Speaker 1: little laugh. Let's get you to home. I'm so terribly

00:28:56

Speaker 1: proud of you welcoming those lovely monkeys to sleepy forest

00:29:01

Speaker 1: like that. It really does make my heart swell up

00:29:06

Speaker 1: with happiness to have two such kind kids as you.

00:29:12

Speaker 1: So let's get you home, and I'll make you both

00:29:16

Speaker 1: a nice cup of hot chocolate, and then we can

00:29:22

Speaker 1: all go to bed. And so the three of them

00:29:28

Speaker 1: made their wandering way through the forest back to the

00:29:33

Speaker 1: little cabin in the woods and to their beds. You

00:30:01

Speaker 1: mu
