Speaker 1: Hello and welcome back to Coco's Sleep, a podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:21
Speaker 1: a dream. Before we begin, I'd like to say a
00:00:25
Speaker 1: big hello to our new Coco Club members drum roll,
00:00:29
Speaker 1: please welcome Izzy, Luca, Logan, Esme, Caleb, Aria, Winter, Kristen,
00:00:38
Speaker 1: Elsbeth and Matilda. I'd also like to wish Coco Club
00:00:43
Speaker 1: member Freddie a very happy birthday. He's five. Tomorrow, Sweet Dreams,
00:00:49
Speaker 1: Freddy and Opus, I hope you enjoy tonight's story. Tonight,
00:00:54
Speaker 1: we join Coco the Koala as he sets off on
00:00:58
Speaker 1: another exciting event. This time he pays a visit to
00:01:03
Speaker 1: his cousin Kiki and her mother, who live in a
00:01:05
Speaker 1: far away place called Sleepy City. During his visit, Coco
00:01:11
Speaker 1: sees many amazing sights and meets lots of interesting animals.
00:01:17
Speaker 1: He soon realizes that the city isn't all that different
00:01:21
Speaker 1: to his beloved forest, and he feels right at home.
00:01:26
Speaker 1: This is Coco Goes to Sleepy City by Gillian Rogerson.
00:01:37
Speaker 1: Deep in the heart of a faraway forest stood a cozy,
00:01:42
Speaker 1: wooden cabin. Inside the cabin lived a family of Koalas,
00:01:48
Speaker 1: the youngest member of the family was called Coco. Coco
00:01:54
Speaker 1: woke up extra early one sunny day and jumped out
00:01:57
Speaker 1: of bed. He was going on a special journey with
00:02:01
Speaker 1: his grandma, and he was eager to start his day.
00:02:05
Speaker 1: He pulled on his dressing gown and dashed downstairs and
00:02:08
Speaker 1: into the kitchen. He thought he would be the only
00:02:11
Speaker 1: one who was awake so early, but his grandma was
00:02:15
Speaker 1: already in the kitchen preparing porridge for breakfast. When she
00:02:20
Speaker 1: saw Coco, she opened her arms and he ran into
00:02:24
Speaker 1: her warm embrace. She kissed the top of his head
00:02:28
Speaker 1: and said, I just couldn't sleep another minute longer, not
00:02:34
Speaker 1: on such an exciting day. Coco looked up at his grandma.
00:02:41
Speaker 1: I couldn't sleep another minute longer either. What time are
00:02:45
Speaker 1: we setting off? How long will it take us to
00:02:48
Speaker 1: get there? Tell me what Sleepy City is like again.
00:02:54
Speaker 1: Coco's grandma released him from her hug and answered his questions,
00:02:59
Speaker 1: just as she had done the previous day and the
00:03:02
Speaker 1: day before that. Coco grinned and spun around in glee.
00:03:08
Speaker 1: He said, I can't wait to get there and see
00:03:12
Speaker 1: Kiki and her mom again. I haven't seen them in
00:03:16
Speaker 1: such a long time. I've missed them. Grandma nodded, I've
00:03:25
Speaker 1: missed them too, but we'll be there before you know it,
00:03:29
Speaker 1: and you can have a good catch up with your
00:03:32
Speaker 1: cousin again, and I'll have a good catch up with
00:03:36
Speaker 1: Kiki's mom. Right, Coco, we need to start this day
00:03:41
Speaker 1: with a good breakfast. Can you help me get the
00:03:45
Speaker 1: breakfast ready? Please? I can hear your grandpa and parents
00:03:50
Speaker 1: getting up, so let's make plenty for them too. Coco
00:03:57
Speaker 1: helped his grandma to make breakfast. His parents and grandpa
00:04:01
Speaker 1: soon joined them in the kitchen, and the family sat
00:04:05
Speaker 1: at the table and ate their delicious porridge. A short
00:04:10
Speaker 1: while later, Coco stood at the front door with his
00:04:14
Speaker 1: coat fastened and wearing his backpack. He called out for
00:04:19
Speaker 1: his grandma and asked if she was ready to go yet.
00:04:24
Speaker 1: Here I am, Grandma said, as she walked towards him,
00:04:28
Speaker 1: carrying her overnight bag. She gave him a big, excited
00:04:33
Speaker 1: smile and took his poor in hers. Coco and his
00:04:39
Speaker 1: grandma said goodbye to the other members of the family
00:04:42
Speaker 1: and left the cabin. They walked along the forest path
00:04:47
Speaker 1: and over to the waiting area where the sleepy coach
00:04:50
Speaker 1: would pick them up. They were just in time, because
00:04:55
Speaker 1: a silver coach appeared on the road ahead at that
00:04:58
Speaker 1: very moment. It stopped in front of the two koalas
00:05:03
Speaker 1: and they climbed onto it. Coco settled down in a
00:05:08
Speaker 1: seat next to the window and gazed out at the
00:05:12
Speaker 1: familiar sights of Sleepy Forest. His grandma sat next to
00:05:17
Speaker 1: him and gave him a little bag of fruit to
00:05:20
Speaker 1: munch on for the journey. The coach set off, Butterflies
00:05:27
Speaker 1: of excitement danced in Coco's tummy. He'd never been to
00:05:32
Speaker 1: Sleepy City before, but his grandma had, and she told
00:05:37
Speaker 1: him lots of things about it. The city sounded like
00:05:42
Speaker 1: a very magical place. The coach drove them away from
00:05:47
Speaker 1: the forest and along a long, winding road towards Sleepy City.
00:05:56
Speaker 1: As they traveled along, Coko began to see building at
00:06:00
Speaker 1: the side of the road with little gardens in front
00:06:02
Speaker 1: of them. He pressed his nose against the window to
00:06:07
Speaker 1: make sure he didn't miss seeing anything. Soon, larger buildings
00:06:14
Speaker 1: began to appear, along with roads that veered off in
00:06:18
Speaker 1: different directions. He saw a school bus full of young
00:06:23
Speaker 1: animals turning down a side road towards a pastel colored building.
00:06:29
Speaker 1: Some of the animals on the bus saw Coco and
00:06:33
Speaker 1: waved to him. Coco grinned and waved back. With his
00:06:39
Speaker 1: nose still pressed against the window, Coko watched the changing landscape,
00:06:45
Speaker 1: and before he knew it, they had arrived at Sleepy City.
00:06:53
Speaker 1: The coach pulled into a large parking area and came
00:06:57
Speaker 1: to a stop. Coco and his grandma said thank you
00:07:03
Speaker 1: to the driver and alighted from the coach. The little
00:07:07
Speaker 1: Koala turned slowly around and had his first good look
00:07:13
Speaker 1: at the city. There were many tall buildings that reached
00:07:19
Speaker 1: all the way to the sky. They were taller than
00:07:23
Speaker 1: the tallest tree and sleepy forest. Cocoa wondered if clouds
00:07:29
Speaker 1: sometimes rested on top of them. Along the pavements were
00:07:35
Speaker 1: a wide variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants. There were
00:07:40
Speaker 1: food stalls on the street, and the delicious aroma of
00:07:45
Speaker 1: cooked food drifted towards Cocoa. Animals of many species walked
00:07:52
Speaker 1: along the streets, and the sound of their chatter mingled
00:07:57
Speaker 1: with the variety of noises coming from the calls on
00:08:00
Speaker 1: the road. Coco smiled. Everything was so bright and cheerful
00:08:09
Speaker 1: and wonderfully noisy. There was something else too, there was
00:08:15
Speaker 1: a magical feeling in the air. Coco could feel it
00:08:19
Speaker 1: in his fur. Hey Coko. A familiar voice called out.
00:08:28
Speaker 1: Coko's cousin, Kiki, a kangaroo, hopped towards him, a huge
00:08:33
Speaker 1: grin on her face. Her mother, Coko's auntie, walked swiftly
00:08:39
Speaker 1: behind her with an equally big smile on her face too.
00:08:45
Speaker 1: Kiki Hi. Coco beamed at his cousin, and the two
00:08:50
Speaker 1: of them hugged. Coko's grandma gave Kiki a hug and said, my,
00:08:58
Speaker 1: you have grown doma since I last saw you. Cooko's
00:09:05
Speaker 1: auntie gave him a hug and said, and look at you, Coko,
00:09:11
Speaker 1: You've grown a lot too. Coko and Kiki grinned at
00:09:18
Speaker 1: each other. The grown ups always said that to them.
00:09:24
Speaker 1: Kiki took Coko's paw and told him she had lots
00:09:27
Speaker 1: to show him in the city, but they were going
00:09:30
Speaker 1: back to the apartment where she lived first so he
00:09:33
Speaker 1: could drop his backpack off. Coko nodded. He hadn't been
00:09:39
Speaker 1: to an apartment before and was eager to see it.
00:09:44
Speaker 1: Kiki hopped along the street and it looked so much
00:09:48
Speaker 1: fun that Coko hopped along with her. He looked at
00:09:52
Speaker 1: the vehicles going past them. There was a lion driving
00:09:57
Speaker 1: a taxi and a porcupine driving an open topped red car.
00:10:03
Speaker 1: Ko Ko waved to them and the drivers waved back.
00:10:10
Speaker 1: Ko Ko's grandma and auntie walked behind the youngsters and
00:10:14
Speaker 1: chatted about their relatives and friends. Kiki asked ko Ko
00:10:21
Speaker 1: about his coach journey and what he'd seen on the way.
00:10:27
Speaker 1: Koko did his best to answer her, but there was
00:10:30
Speaker 1: so much going on in the city that he kept
00:10:33
Speaker 1: forgetting what he was saying. He he stopped in front
00:10:39
Speaker 1: of a tall silver building and told ko Ko it
00:10:43
Speaker 1: was where she lived. She took him through the entrance
00:10:48
Speaker 1: and they went through a revolving door together. Ko Ko
00:10:53
Speaker 1: thought the door was a lot of fun, and once
00:10:56
Speaker 1: his grandma and auntie had come through it, he had
00:11:00
Speaker 1: three more turns going around in it. Kiki laughed and
00:11:06
Speaker 1: said she sometimes did that. The group headed over towards
00:11:12
Speaker 1: an elevator and went inside. Every new experience was exciting
00:11:19
Speaker 1: and magical to Goco, and he couldn't stop smiling. When
00:11:25
Speaker 1: he heard the low, joyful music coming from speakers inside
00:11:30
Speaker 1: the elevator, he broke into a dance and jigged from
00:11:35
Speaker 1: side to side. Kiki danced too. The elevator came to
00:11:42
Speaker 1: a stop and the group walked out of it in
00:11:45
Speaker 1: along a carpeted corridor. A few moments later, they entered
00:11:51
Speaker 1: the apartment where Kiki and her mum lived. It was
00:11:56
Speaker 1: a cozy and welcoming place, and some of the furniture
00:12:01
Speaker 1: was similar to that in the Koala's cabin. Ko Ko
00:12:06
Speaker 1: went over to the big windows and looked out at
00:12:09
Speaker 1: the city. There were a lot of buildings, but there
00:12:14
Speaker 1: were also many trees and some parks too. Ko Ko
00:12:22
Speaker 1: looked away from the window and went into the spare
00:12:26
Speaker 1: bedroom with his grandma. They quickly unpacked and had a
00:12:31
Speaker 1: freshen up. Then they were ready to explore the city.
00:12:37
Speaker 1: The group left the apartment and headed back to the streets.
00:12:43
Speaker 1: Kiki's mom thought the Koalas might be hungry, so she
00:12:47
Speaker 1: took them to her favorite deli. When ko Ko saw
00:12:52
Speaker 1: the huge array of food that was on off or
00:12:55
Speaker 1: inside the deli, he looked up at his auntie and
00:13:00
Speaker 1: said he couldn't decide what to have and could she
00:13:03
Speaker 1: help him please. Of course, his auntie replied, how about
00:13:11
Speaker 1: a ucalyptu sleef? Sandwich on seeded bread. I'm going to
00:13:17
Speaker 1: have that along with some freshly squeezed mango juice. We
00:13:22
Speaker 1: can get some side dishes of sliced vegetables and dips
00:13:26
Speaker 1: as well. Cocoa's little tummy rumbled at the thought of
00:13:32
Speaker 1: the delicious food, and he said he would have that too.
00:13:38
Speaker 1: Grandma Hankiki decided on the same meal. The kind faced
00:13:46
Speaker 1: badger behind the counter told them to have a seat
00:13:50
Speaker 1: and that she would bring the meal over to them.
00:13:54
Speaker 1: The two koalas and the two kangaroos took a seat
00:13:58
Speaker 1: at an outdoor table and sat in the warm sunshine.
00:14:07
Speaker 1: Coco smiled softly and watched the animals of Sleepy City
00:14:12
Speaker 1: go by. He saw some hamsters dressed in business suits
00:14:18
Speaker 1: hurrying along the pavement with small briefcases in their paws.
00:14:24
Speaker 1: Behind them were a couple of tigers pushing prams and chatting.
00:14:30
Speaker 1: The cubs inside the prams peeped out saw Coco and
00:14:35
Speaker 1: waved to him. Coco waved back. A group of giggling
00:14:41
Speaker 1: geese dressed in ballet outfits danced by. Kiki told Coco
00:14:48
Speaker 1: they were probably on their way to the school of dance.
00:14:52
Speaker 1: Further along the street, The food was brought to the table,
00:14:58
Speaker 1: and the family group fell silent as they ate their
00:15:02
Speaker 1: scrumptious meal. Coco thought his meal was made even more
00:15:09
Speaker 1: special because it was his first one in Sleepy City.
00:15:14
Speaker 1: When Coco had finished his meal, he patted his tummy
00:15:18
Speaker 1: and said he couldn't eat another thing. He soon changed
00:15:24
Speaker 1: his mind when his auntie asked if he could manage
00:15:27
Speaker 1: a small portion of ice cream. He immediately said yes,
00:15:33
Speaker 1: he could easily manage a portion of ice cream. Thank you.
00:15:39
Speaker 1: Kiki took Coco back into the deli and ordered four
00:15:44
Speaker 1: pots of honey ice cream topped with strawberry sprinkles. Coco
00:15:50
Speaker 1: and his grandma enjoyed the ice cream immensely and agreed
00:15:55
Speaker 1: it was the best one they'd ever had. After the
00:16:01
Speaker 1: ice cream treat, they headed towards one of the city's parks.
00:16:07
Speaker 1: Along the way, ko Ko asked Kiki about her life
00:16:11
Speaker 1: in the city. Kiki told him about her friends and
00:16:16
Speaker 1: her school life, her hobbies and interests. Kihi then asked
00:16:23
Speaker 1: Cooko about his life in Sleepy Forest. Kih he had
00:16:28
Speaker 1: been to the forest a few times before and had
00:16:31
Speaker 1: met some of his friends, including Camo the comedian and
00:16:36
Speaker 1: Fudge the sloth. Ko Ko said, all my friends are
00:16:43
Speaker 1: doing great, and my family too. Oh. I've been on
00:16:49
Speaker 1: some magical adventures recently. I haven't told you about them yet.
00:16:56
Speaker 1: Kiki's eyes widened and she asked for more details. Koko
00:17:03
Speaker 1: told his cousin about his magical adventures and all the
00:17:07
Speaker 1: fun he'd had. Kiki listened without saying a word. Her
00:17:14
Speaker 1: eyes grew wider and wider as she heard about the
00:17:18
Speaker 1: amazing journeys her cousin had been on. Ko Ko smiled
00:17:23
Speaker 1: at Kiki and said, perhaps you'll have some magical adventures
00:17:30
Speaker 1: in sleepy City soon. I can feel magic in the
00:17:34
Speaker 1: air here. Kiki hopped from side to side in joy
00:17:41
Speaker 1: and said, do you really think so? A magical adventure? Wow,
00:17:49
Speaker 1: that would be amazing. The group reached the park and
00:17:56
Speaker 1: went through the gates. Squirrels on skateboards and rabbits on
00:18:02
Speaker 1: roller skates zoomed past them and along the curved path
00:18:06
Speaker 1: that ran through the park. Beautiful trees lined the path,
00:18:12
Speaker 1: and the warm summer breeze whispered through the branches of them,
00:18:18
Speaker 1: causing the leaves to rustle. There was a sound Coco
00:18:23
Speaker 1: was familiar with, and a smile alighted on his face.
00:18:29
Speaker 1: He recognized all of the trees and also the plants
00:18:33
Speaker 1: that surrounded them. He felt like a little part of
00:18:38
Speaker 1: Sleepy Forest had set up home in the Magical City.
00:18:43
Speaker 1: Kiki took her cousin over to the play area, and
00:18:47
Speaker 1: he was surprised to see how much equipment there was
00:18:50
Speaker 1: to play on. He he asked what he would like
00:18:54
Speaker 1: to do first. Hoko looked at the area, gave her
00:18:59
Speaker 1: a grin, and asked if they could go on everything.
00:19:05
Speaker 1: His kangaroo cousin grinned back and said of course. She
00:19:11
Speaker 1: took his paw and they ran towards the swings. Kiki's
00:19:17
Speaker 1: mom and Coko's grandma sat on a bench and watched
00:19:21
Speaker 1: the youngsters at play. The time flew by as Coko
00:19:27
Speaker 1: and Kiki played on all the fun equipment. More young
00:19:32
Speaker 1: animals joined them, and Coko soon made friends with them.
00:19:38
Speaker 1: Cooko told Kiki he was having a wonderful time. Kiki
00:19:43
Speaker 1: said she was too, and her time in the park
00:19:48
Speaker 1: had been made even more special because Coko was there
00:19:52
Speaker 1: with her. After they'd played on every piece of play equipment,
00:19:59
Speaker 1: Coko and Kiki went over to the bench and joined
00:20:03
Speaker 1: the grown ups Kiki's mom produced some cartons of orange
00:20:09
Speaker 1: juice from her bag and gave them to the thirsty
00:20:12
Speaker 1: young ones. After a while, the koalas and kangaroos decided
00:20:19
Speaker 1: to leave the park and explore the city a little more.
00:20:25
Speaker 1: As they headed towards the park gates, Coco spotted some
00:20:30
Speaker 1: elephants playing frisbee and a group of birds having a
00:20:35
Speaker 1: singing lesson near a bandstand. Being a friendly koala, he
00:20:42
Speaker 1: waved to them and was delighted when they waved back
00:20:46
Speaker 1: and called out cheerful helloes. Kiki asked the koalas if
00:20:53
Speaker 1: they would like to visit Sleepy City Museum. They both
00:20:57
Speaker 1: said yes straight away. The little group walked along the
00:21:04
Speaker 1: busy streets and soon arrived at the museum. It was
00:21:09
Speaker 1: a large building with tall marble pillars that framed a
00:21:15
Speaker 1: wooden entrance door. Beautiful stained glass windows set into the
00:21:22
Speaker 1: stone work showed a variety of colorful scenes. Each one
00:21:28
Speaker 1: was of Sleepy City, but from a different time in history.
00:21:34
Speaker 1: The group went inside, and Coco was amazed at how
00:21:38
Speaker 1: high the ceilings were. Rays of sunlight slanted through the
00:21:45
Speaker 1: stained glass windows and cast colorful reflections of the historical scenes.
00:21:52
Speaker 1: Across the marble floor. Oko looked down at the colors
00:21:57
Speaker 1: beneath him as he slow walked across the floor. He
00:22:03
Speaker 1: smiled and told Kiki he felt like he was walking
00:22:08
Speaker 1: through time as he stepped into one reflected image after another.
00:22:16
Speaker 1: Kiki said that was a lovely thought, and she slowly
00:22:21
Speaker 1: followed in Koko's footsteps. Kiki and her mum showed their
00:22:28
Speaker 1: visitors around the spectacular museum. There was a lot to see,
00:22:34
Speaker 1: and ko Ko became absorbed in the wonderful exhibits and
00:22:39
Speaker 1: artifacts which showed how the city had started as a
00:22:44
Speaker 1: small area of woodland and then over the years, had
00:22:50
Speaker 1: grown into a beautiful city. He smiled at some of
00:22:55
Speaker 1: the portraits of the early settlers. They looked very familiar
00:23:00
Speaker 1: to the families who lived in Sleepy Forest. When he
00:23:05
Speaker 1: pointed them out to his grandma, she said some of
00:23:10
Speaker 1: the earliest settlers had lived in Sleepy Forest for a
00:23:13
Speaker 1: while before setting up home in the city. They both
00:23:18
Speaker 1: agreed that it must have been a very exciting adventure
00:23:23
Speaker 1: for those early settlers. After the group had explored the museum,
00:23:30
Speaker 1: they headed to the cafe, which was right next to
00:23:33
Speaker 1: the gift shop. Kiki asked her mom if she could
00:23:39
Speaker 1: go into the gift shop, as she'd brought her pocket
00:23:42
Speaker 1: money and wanted to buy something special. Koko had brought
00:23:48
Speaker 1: his pocket money too and asked the same question. He
00:23:53
Speaker 1: was delighted when Kiki's mom said yes, they could go
00:23:57
Speaker 1: into the gift shop. The grown ups took a seat
00:24:02
Speaker 1: at a table in the cafe, and when a penguin
00:24:06
Speaker 1: with a notepad walked over to them, they gave their
00:24:10
Speaker 1: order of sliced fruit and glasses of chilled water. Kiki
00:24:17
Speaker 1: and Coo Ko went into the gift shop. The shelves
00:24:22
Speaker 1: were full of wonderful treats to buy, bookmarks, crayons and
00:24:28
Speaker 1: coloring books, scented candles, clothes, and many many toys. Kiki
00:24:39
Speaker 1: told Ko Ko that she'd been to the shop before
00:24:43
Speaker 1: and knew what she wanted to buy. There was something
00:24:47
Speaker 1: special that she didn't want him to see yet. She
00:24:52
Speaker 1: grinned and said, I'll meet you at the counter later.
00:24:58
Speaker 1: She hopped over to the far side of the shop.
00:25:02
Speaker 1: Coco picked up a shopping basket and began to wander
00:25:07
Speaker 1: up and down the aisles. The shop was a treasure
00:25:11
Speaker 1: trove of gifts, and he wasn't sure what to buy.
00:25:16
Speaker 1: He wandered a little further and came across items that
00:25:21
Speaker 1: would be perfect for his family. He chose some wooden
00:25:26
Speaker 1: knitting needles for his dad, which had carved koalas on
00:25:30
Speaker 1: the ends of them, a tube of ukulele shaped sweets
00:25:35
Speaker 1: for his granddad, a box of eucalyptus tea for his grandma,
00:25:42
Speaker 1: And because his mom loved reading so much, he decided
00:25:47
Speaker 1: on a sparkling silver bookmark which had a little picture
00:25:52
Speaker 1: of Sleepy City on it. He bought another bookmark for
00:25:57
Speaker 1: his auntie because she loved reading. Two. Ko Ko wanted
00:26:03
Speaker 1: to buy one more thing. He looked around the shop
00:26:08
Speaker 1: and his gaze alighted on the ideal item. He looked
00:26:13
Speaker 1: left and right to see if Kiki was nearby. He
00:26:19
Speaker 1: was relieved to see she was standing at the counter
00:26:22
Speaker 1: with her back to him. Ko Ko hurried over to
00:26:28
Speaker 1: the ideal item, picked the right size, and put it
00:26:33
Speaker 1: in his basket. He held the basket behind his back
00:26:38
Speaker 1: and walked over to the counter. Kiki was waiting for
00:26:44
Speaker 1: him with a paper bag in her hand. Ko Ko said,
00:26:51
Speaker 1: could you close your eyes please. I've got a surprise
00:26:55
Speaker 1: for you, and I don't want you to see it,
00:27:00
Speaker 1: Kiki dutifully closed her eyes. Ko Ko quickly paid for
00:27:06
Speaker 1: the items using his pocket money. The shop assistant, a
00:27:11
Speaker 1: young gorilla, put them in a paper bag, and wished
00:27:15
Speaker 1: ko Ko a great day. Thank you. I hope you
00:27:20
Speaker 1: have a great day too. Ko Ko replied with a
00:27:24
Speaker 1: big smile. Ko Ko and Kiki joined the grown ups
00:27:30
Speaker 1: at the table. Ko Ko gave the bookmark to his
00:27:34
Speaker 1: auntie and a box of tea to his grandma to
00:27:38
Speaker 1: say thank you for such a wonderful day. His auntie
00:27:43
Speaker 1: and grandma smiled and said he really shouldn't have, but
00:27:48
Speaker 1: they were delighted with their gifts. Ko Ko told Kiki
00:27:54
Speaker 1: he'd bought her a present. She chuckled and said she'd
00:27:59
Speaker 1: bore something for him too. They exchanged bags and took
00:28:06
Speaker 1: out the gifts. When the little kangaroo and the koala
00:28:13
Speaker 1: saw what the other one had bought for them, they
00:28:16
Speaker 1: burst into laughter. They had each bought identical T shirts
00:28:23
Speaker 1: which had pictures of the sun setting over Sleepy City
00:28:27
Speaker 1: on them. Coco and Kiki put their T shirts on
00:28:33
Speaker 1: and smiled at each other. Coko put his paw over
00:28:38
Speaker 1: his mouth to cover up a yawn, exploring the lovely
00:28:44
Speaker 1: city had made him tired. Kiki yawned too, and so
00:28:51
Speaker 1: did the grown ups. Kiki's mum said it was time
00:28:57
Speaker 1: they headed back to the apartment. Every one agreed, as
00:29:04
Speaker 1: they were all so tired. Kiki's mom hailed a taxi
00:29:10
Speaker 1: and the four sleepy animals climbed into it and were
00:29:15
Speaker 1: taken back to the apartment building. The tired animals returned
00:29:22
Speaker 1: to the apartment, put their bags down and flopped on
00:29:27
Speaker 1: to the sofa. Kiki's mom turned on the table lamps
00:29:34
Speaker 1: and the living room was filled with a soft, cozy glow.
00:29:39
Speaker 1: Kiki's mom said she was too tired to cook, and
00:29:44
Speaker 1: after asking everyone what they would like to eat, she
00:29:49
Speaker 1: ordered a take away. Ko Ko saw that a take
00:29:54
Speaker 1: away sounded like a most magical way to have hot,
00:29:59
Speaker 1: delicious food delivered right at your door. Whilst he waited
00:30:08
Speaker 1: for the food to be delivered, Coco had a soothing
00:30:12
Speaker 1: bubble bath in one of the bathrooms. His auntie used
00:30:18
Speaker 1: the same lavender bubble bath that his mum used, and
00:30:22
Speaker 1: as he lay in the scented water, the familiar fragrance
00:30:28
Speaker 1: made Cocoa feel all happy inside and right at home.
00:30:37
Speaker 1: After his bath, Coco got into his soft, fleecy pajamas
00:30:43
Speaker 1: and joined the others who were sitting on a large,
00:30:47
Speaker 1: comfy sofa in front of the fire. The dancing flames
00:30:53
Speaker 1: of the fire crackled quietly and mingled with the soft
00:30:59
Speaker 1: chatter coming from his family. A few moments later, the
00:31:06
Speaker 1: food arrived. Coco went to the door with his auntie
00:31:11
Speaker 1: and collected some warm boxes from the smiling wombat who
00:31:16
Speaker 1: was delivering them. The wombat wished them a good evening.
00:31:24
Speaker 1: Hoko smiled at the wombat and replied, thank you, I
00:31:31
Speaker 1: think I will have a good evening. I've already had
00:31:36
Speaker 1: an amazing day. Good night. I hope you have wonderful dreams.
00:31:45
Speaker 1: The wombat smiled at the little koala and walked away.
00:31:51
Speaker 1: The meal was eaten right out of the boxes, something
00:31:56
Speaker 1: which delighted Coco to no end, and he couldn't stop smiling.
00:32:04
Speaker 1: Coco and Kiki didn't manage to eat all of their
00:32:08
Speaker 1: food because they were too tired. He He's mum said
00:32:14
Speaker 1: it didn't matter and that she would put the leftovers
00:32:18
Speaker 1: in the fridge for the following day. Coco glanced towards
00:32:25
Speaker 1: the huge windows at the front of the room with
00:32:29
Speaker 1: a far away look in his eyes. His grandma knew
00:32:36
Speaker 1: he was thinking about their cozy cabin back in Sleepy Forest.
00:32:43
Speaker 1: She took Coco by the poor and led him over
00:32:47
Speaker 1: to the window. They looked out at the big city.
00:32:53
Speaker 1: Twinkling lights filled the windows of the city and flowed
00:32:58
Speaker 1: from the street lamp. It gave the city an enchanted feeling.
00:33:06
Speaker 1: A faint rumble of traffic could be heard. It had
00:33:11
Speaker 1: a soft, melodic sound, as though it was the city's lullaby.
00:33:19
Speaker 1: Coco yawned and leaned against his grandma. She picked him
00:33:26
Speaker 1: up and Coco put his arms around her neck. His
00:33:32
Speaker 1: eyes felt so very tired and heavy. His grandma said,
00:33:41
Speaker 1: look at the sky, Cocoa, can you see the moon
00:33:47
Speaker 1: and the stars, the same moon and stars the shining
00:33:53
Speaker 1: down on Sleepy Forest. I think your parents and grandpa
00:34:02
Speaker 1: might be looking at the night sky right now and
00:34:07
Speaker 1: thinking about us. Coco smiled at the heartwarming thought. He
00:34:16
Speaker 1: gazed out of the window and said, sleepily, good night,
00:34:24
Speaker 1: Sleepy Forest, Sweet dreams. Oh yawned again, good night, Sleepy City,
00:34:40
Speaker 1: Sweet Dreams. He closed his eyes and rested his head
00:34:47
Speaker 1: on his grandma's shoulder. His grandma whispered, would you like
00:34:55
Speaker 1: a bedtime story Coco. Coco didn't answer, but he was
00:35:04
Speaker 1: already fast asleep and dreaming about his big adventure in
00:35:12
Speaker 1: sleepy city as
