Speaker 1: where they learned about all kinds of things like mathematic

Speaker 1: and the history of the forest. And at exactly which

Speaker 1: time of year the berries that grew on all the

Speaker 1: different trees would be at their most ripe, plump and delicious.

Speaker 1: And in the evenings, after the sun had set and

Speaker 1: the sky above the forest had gone dark as ink sometimes,

Speaker 1: Cocoa and Kiera liked to lie on their backs on

Speaker 1: the grassy patch outside the cabin, looking up at the
00:01:26
Speaker 1: twinkling stars. What do you think they are? Kia would ask,

Speaker 1: what you mean, Cocoa would reply, frowning a little. They're stars.

Speaker 1: I know they're stars, silly, Kia would reply with a giggle,

Speaker 1: but I mean what they really are? What stars are?

Speaker 1: And then they'd look up at the stars, contemplatively, mulling

Speaker 1: over the question, which seems stranger and stranger once she
00:02:02
Speaker 1: thought about it. Maybe their fireflies that flew up there
00:02:09
Speaker 1: and got stuck, Coco proposed. Or the eyes of some huge,
00:02:15
Speaker 1: far off creature, suggested Kira, looking down at us and blinking.

Speaker 1: Or they could be burning balls of gas billions and
00:02:28
Speaker 1: billions of miles away, said Coco. But they both clutched
00:02:32
Speaker 1: their bellies and laughed at that that was such a
00:02:35
Speaker 1: ludicrous idea. One evening, when they had finished feasting on
00:02:40
Speaker 1: a delicious dinner of eucalyptus pie that their mum had
00:02:44
Speaker 1: made them, Coco and Kira lay outside staring up at
00:02:48
Speaker 1: the stars. When Coco was struck by an idea. I

Speaker 1: know how we can find out about the stars, he said, how,

Speaker 1: Kira asked, we have to go and ask Cuthbert. Of course,

Speaker 1: Kira's eyes opened wide and she nodded. Cuthbert, of course

Speaker 1: that was who they should go and ask. Cuthbert the

Speaker 1: camel was one of the oldest and wisest creatures who'd

Speaker 1: ever lived in Sleepy Forest. He had two humps on

Speaker 1: his back in which he said he could store water

Speaker 1: for many days, and a sandy colored coat, and a sagging,
00:03:32
Speaker 1: hairy bottomed lip that jiggled whenever he was munching on grass,
00:03:37
Speaker 1: which he often was. He was also admittedly a little
00:03:42
Speaker 1: bit grouchy, but that was understandable since he'd been plodding
00:03:46
Speaker 1: around the forest for such a long time his feet
00:03:50
Speaker 1: must be pretty sore. Cuthbert's great passion was studying the skies.

Speaker 1: He called it celestial phenomena, but those kinds of long
00:04:03
Speaker 1: words were often pretty tricky for Cocoa and Kira to

Speaker 1: wrap their heads around. What he meant by celestial phenomena

Speaker 1: was the stars and planets and comets and asteroids and

Speaker 1: all the other bits and bobs that floated about up

Speaker 1: there in the great big above. You see, Cuthbert was terribly,

Speaker 1: terribly clever. His brain was like a huge castle, every

Speaker 1: room chock full of all sorts of interesting information. Once

Speaker 1: Cuthbert had even helped Coco out when the moon had
00:04:43
Speaker 1: passed in front of the Sun and got stuck. He'd

Speaker 1: explained to Cocoa that what he was seeing was a
00:04:50
Speaker 1: solar eclipse, but that something had gone wrong because the
00:04:54
Speaker 1: moon wasn't supposed to get stuck like that, and then
00:04:58
Speaker 1: he'd helped Coco stick it. So Cuthbert wasn't only clever,
