[00:00:03] Hello everyone, it's Abbe Opher here with what is fast becoming my favourite part of the summer. That's right, it's time to reveal our Summer Camp Week Three winners. This is becoming harder and harder to judge as the weeks go by. You took your characters on some magical adventures all over the Koala Kingdom and we absolutely loved reading your stories. Well done to each and every single one of you.
[00:00:30] After a lot of reading and even more discussion, we managed to narrow it down to four winning entries. So, without further ado, I am delighted to announce that the Week Three Story Winners are... Nine-Year-Old Grace Sarah White in Saskatchewan, Canada Nine-Year-Old Leo Stenhouse from Silver Spring in Maryland And last but not least, Leanne
[00:00:57] Big congratulations to all four of our amazing winners. For this week's prize, I will be reading out a small section of each of your incredible stories. So, why not get comfy as our four winning writers whisk us off on an adventure. First up is Grace's story.
[00:01:25] One sunny Sunday morning, Teddy was super excited because his old friends were coming to town. Coco and Kira asked Teddy if he could give them a tour of Scotland. So, Teddy wrote a list of the best places. He had so many options to choose, but eventually he narrowed it down to three things. The beach, the Robert Burns Museum, and the farm park.
[00:01:53] After Teddy collected Coco and Kira from the train station, he took them out for a traditional meal in Scotland. Fish and chips with some iron brew to drink. Iron brew is the most popular soda in Scotland. If you want to read the next part of this story where Coco and Kira go to the museum and bump into some familiar faces, Hector and Sunny, grab a grown-up and visit our Instagram at koalakids.fm.
[00:02:23] Our next story is by Sarah White. Come on, Hector! exclaimed Sunny as they trotted along the sidewalk to Gemma's house. I'm coming, yelled Hector. They knocked on the door of Gemma's house and the door swung open. They walked into the kitchen with their owners too.
[00:02:49] Gemma's owner gave them a treat and a hot pink ball to play with. Then they heard a tap-tap, clink-clink. Let me in, yelled Sydney. Swish went the window as it flew open. Happy birthday, Gemma! I got a present for you. It's an invitation to the perfect pet hotel. Spin three times and a portal will open.
[00:03:17] To find out what Hector and Sunny and their new friend Gemma get up to at the pet hotel, drop by our Instagram at koalakids.fm. Our third prize-winning entry comes from Leo Stenhouse. Victoria the violet-winged puffin had just come of age for flying and was very excited.
[00:03:45] Are you ready to take flight? Her father asked. Victoria took a deep breath in and out, then said, I'm excited and nervous, but ready. Victoria was scared, but she knew she had to do it, and finally jumped. Remember to spread your wings, her parents cried.
[00:04:12] Victoria thought she heard her parents say something else, but she couldn't quite make it out. She landed with a large thump. Hello, can we help you? said two mysterious figures. Who are you? said Victoria. I'm Hector and this is Sunny. So, um, why did you fall out of the sky? Sunny asked.
[00:04:42] Victoria explained everything to the two dogs, and Hector and Sunny suggested they could go to Harmony Cove. Maybe Victoria could sail back from there. To discover how Victoria the Puffin gets home and sails past Cappy and Tito's house, pop on over to our Instagram at koalakids.fm. Last but not least, we have Liana's story.
[00:05:13] Patty, the flying platypus, and Belle, the flying pink cow, were getting ready to meet Coco and Kira at Potato and Beans Diner. Patty and Belle always used the portals to travel, so they started flying towards the portal that led to the diner. But the portal wasn't there. Maybe we should head home and come back later, suggested Patty.
[00:05:39] They started walking home and then noticed a piece of paper in the grass. I saw a fairy drop it off this morning, said a talking blade of grass. Patty opened the note and read it. To fix the portals, you need to get the purple crystal from the top of Mount Sparkle and put it in the slime river.
[00:06:07] Belle carefully clipped the talking blade of grass so she could take it on the adventure to fix the portals. If you want to read the rest of this adventure and find out if Patty and Belle fix the portals, grab a grown-up and head on over to our Instagram. The handle is at koalakids.fm. Once again, congratulations to all of you.
