Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Kuala Moon, a podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:19
Speaker 1: a dream. Now rather magically, this evening, we're going to
00:00:24
Speaker 1: be introduced to a beautiful being. She's nowhere to be found,
00:00:29
Speaker 1: but everywhere to be seen. I know it sounds like
00:00:33
Speaker 1: I'm speaking in riddles, but the powerful force that is
00:00:36
Speaker 1: Mother Nature is the star of our story tonight. She
00:00:41
Speaker 1: looks after our Earth and make sure that every living
00:00:45
Speaker 1: thing is happy and healthy. She's been around since the
00:00:49
Speaker 1: beginning of time, and her job is to protect and
00:00:53
Speaker 1: care for the Earth and everything on it. Let's snuggle down,
00:00:59
Speaker 1: blows our eyes and relax as we join Mother Nature
00:01:03
Speaker 1: on her travels around the world, on a journey of
00:01:06
Speaker 1: appreciation for our beautiful planet Earth. This is Meditating with
00:01:12
Speaker 1: Mother Nature by Gillian Rogerson. It's a beautiful day on
00:01:25
Speaker 1: Earth and Mother Nature is getting ready to travel around
00:01:28
Speaker 1: the planet to make sure everyone is happy and cared for.
00:01:33
Speaker 1: Her long flowing hair is as green as fresh new
00:01:37
Speaker 1: leaves upon a tree. Her amber eyes sparkle as brightly
00:01:41
Speaker 1: as the stars in the sky. Her smile is warm
00:01:47
Speaker 1: and welcoming, and her soft voice is gentle and soothing.
00:01:53
Speaker 1: Mother Nature wears a gown made from flower petals of
00:01:57
Speaker 1: many colors, and wherever she goes, she leaves behind a
00:02:02
Speaker 1: delicate floral fragrance upon her feet. At the softest of
00:02:07
Speaker 1: shoes that she wove from the fluffy clouds in the sky.
00:02:13
Speaker 1: Before she sets off on her journey around the world,
00:02:16
Speaker 1: Mother Nature takes time to quieten her mind. It's something
00:02:21
Speaker 1: she does every day. She closes her eyes and takes
00:02:25
Speaker 1: some big, deep breath, breathing in and out, in.
00:02:38
Speaker 2: And in and out.
00:02:45
Speaker 1: Peace and relaxation flow through her, and a gentle smile
00:02:51
Speaker 1: alights on her face. She opens her eyes. She's ready
00:02:57
Speaker 1: to set off on her journey. She thinks about the
00:03:01
Speaker 1: beautiful planet and where she should go first. An image
00:03:06
Speaker 1: of a forest comes to her. She nods, yes, that
00:03:11
Speaker 1: will be a good place to start. She closes her
00:03:15
Speaker 1: eyes again and thinks softly about transporting herself to a forest.
00:03:21
Speaker 1: The air around her becomes warmer, and she inhales the
00:03:26
Speaker 1: refreshing scent of pine needles and fresh foliage. Mother Nature
00:03:32
Speaker 1: opens her eyes. She is now in the middle of
00:03:36
Speaker 1: a magnificent forest. Tall trees reach towards the sky. Rays
00:03:43
Speaker 1: of sunlight slant through gaps in the trees and cause
00:03:47
Speaker 1: flickering shadows to dance across the forest floor. A warm
00:03:53
Speaker 1: breeze flows around Mother Nature and brings with it the
00:03:58
Speaker 1: soothing scent of wildflowers and lavender. The breeze moves through
00:04:06
Speaker 1: the trees and creates a gentle rustle. From somewhere within
00:04:12
Speaker 1: the branches, birds chirp cheerfully. Mother Nature moves over to
00:04:19
Speaker 1: the nearest tree and places her hand on its warm bark.
00:04:24
Speaker 1: She closes her eyes and feels a deep, loving connection
00:04:29
Speaker 1: to the tree. Her connection deepens and it flows to
00:04:35
Speaker 1: the other trees too. She can feel how strong and
00:04:40
Speaker 1: steady they are. She silently thanks the trees for all
00:04:47
Speaker 1: they do for providing a home to the many animals
00:04:51
Speaker 1: and birds of the forest, giving them shelter during the
00:04:55
Speaker 1: rain and snow, and supplying them with delicious food. Mother
00:05:02
Speaker 1: Nature opens her eyes and places both hands over her heart.
00:05:09
Speaker 1: She smiles at the trees and says, thank you.
00:05:14
Speaker 2: I love you.
00:05:17
Speaker 1: The leaves on the trees rustle, as though they're saying
00:05:22
Speaker 1: we love you too. She looks away from the trees
00:05:27
Speaker 1: and listens to the soft sounds of the animals and
00:05:30
Speaker 1: birds who live in the forest. She sets out walking,
00:05:36
Speaker 1: ready to say hello to the animals of the forest.
00:05:40
Speaker 1: She waves to a bushy tailed squirrel scampering up a tree.
00:05:44
Speaker 1: His little arms are full of golden chestnuts that he's
00:05:48
Speaker 1: gathered from the forest floor. She smiles at some rabbits
00:05:53
Speaker 1: who are hopping through the soft grass towards their cozy burrow.
00:05:58
Speaker 1: She spots deer in a meadow nibbling at the sweet
00:06:02
Speaker 1: leaves on the trees. Mother Nature stops to talk to
00:06:08
Speaker 1: all the animals she meets and asks if they need anything.
00:06:13
Speaker 1: The animals say no, thank you. They are perfectly content
00:06:17
Speaker 1: and have everything they need. Mother Nature walks on through
00:06:23
Speaker 1: the beautiful forest and enters a glade. She closes her
00:06:28
Speaker 1: eyes and listens to the peaceful sounds of her environment.
00:06:34
Speaker 1: She puts her hands over her heart and says to
00:06:38
Speaker 1: the forest, thank you for looking after those who live
00:06:44
Speaker 1: here and providing them with everything they need. I love you.
00:06:53
Speaker 1: Mother Nature keeps her eyes closed and thinks about where
00:06:57
Speaker 1: she should go. Next. Image of a lush jungle drifts
00:07:03
Speaker 1: into her mind, and she takes herself there. When she
00:07:08
Speaker 1: opens her eyes, she's in the middle of a jungle
00:07:13
Speaker 1: the air is warmer and the trees are denser with
00:07:17
Speaker 1: bigger leaves. She hears different sounds and sets off to
00:07:23
Speaker 1: say hello to the wildlife of the jungle. She sees
00:07:28
Speaker 1: a fluffy around a town baby sleeping soundly in the
00:07:33
Speaker 1: arms of his mother beneath the shade of a tree.
00:07:38
Speaker 1: She calls out a hello to some chattering chimpanzees who
00:07:42
Speaker 1: are swinging from strong vines that loop between the trees.
00:07:48
Speaker 1: The chimpanzees give her a chorus of cheerful hellos in return.
00:07:55
Speaker 1: She follows the journey of a family of elephants who
00:07:59
Speaker 1: walk in an all organized line towards a wide river.
00:08:04
Speaker 1: When they reach it, they dip their trunks in the
00:08:07
Speaker 1: river and then give themselves a refreshing shower. She waves
00:08:15
Speaker 1: to a bright red parrot with blue tail feathers who
00:08:19
Speaker 1: is perched on a branch. The parrot is letting out
00:08:24
Speaker 1: a series of peculiar but delightful squawks. Mother Nature stops
00:08:32
Speaker 1: to talk to all of them and asks if she
00:08:35
Speaker 1: can do anything for them. The animals say no, thank you.
00:08:41
Speaker 1: They are perfectly content and have everything they need. She
00:08:47
Speaker 1: walks on and takes a seat on a sun warmed
00:08:50
Speaker 1: rock She closes her eyes, places her hands over her heart,
00:08:57
Speaker 1: and says to the beautiful jungle, thank you for looking
00:09:02
Speaker 1: after those who live here and providing them with everything
00:09:07
Speaker 1: they need. I love you. She keeps her eyes closed
00:09:14
Speaker 1: and transports herself to the country side next. Once there,
00:09:20
Speaker 1: she walks through the fields and talks to sheep, cows,
00:09:25
Speaker 1: and horses and the other animals and birds who live there.
00:09:29
Speaker 1: As before, Mother Nature offers her assistance. The animals smile
00:09:36
Speaker 1: and say no, they don't need anything, thank you. Mother
00:09:43
Speaker 1: Nature spots a farmer and his family in the distance,
00:09:47
Speaker 1: busy going about their daily chores. She sends a silent,
00:09:53
Speaker 1: heartfelt thank you to them for looking after the land
00:09:57
Speaker 1: and the animals. Thinks about the humans on the planet
00:10:02
Speaker 1: and all the many ways they take care of it.
00:10:07
Speaker 1: Her heart fills with love for them, and she sends
00:10:10
Speaker 1: out her appreciation for all they do. Mother Nature continues
00:10:17
Speaker 1: on her walk through the fields and enters a meadow.
00:10:22
Speaker 1: She gazes in wonder at the beautiful flowers that sway
00:10:26
Speaker 1: in the gentle wind. Even though they look similar, she
00:10:33
Speaker 1: knows that each one is unique. She strolls further into
00:10:40
Speaker 1: the meadow and inhales the soothing aroma of the plants.
00:10:45
Speaker 1: She feels so very relaxed and peaceful. Mother Nature kneels
00:10:53
Speaker 1: at the side of a cluster of buttercups and gently
00:10:58
Speaker 1: cups her hands around them. It's like holding sunshine in
00:11:03
Speaker 1: her palms. She thanks the buttercups for being there and
00:11:08
Speaker 1: sends her love to them. She straightens up and goes
00:11:13
Speaker 1: on her way, silently giving her thanks to the other
00:11:17
Speaker 1: flowers and plants in the meadow. She notices a fluffy
00:11:22
Speaker 1: bumblebee resting on the petals of a rose. She says
00:11:27
Speaker 1: hello and asks if he needs anything. The bee lets
00:11:33
Speaker 1: out a happy buzz and says, no, thank you. I
00:11:40
Speaker 1: have everything I need in this meadow. I'm having a
00:11:44
Speaker 1: wonderful time flitting from one flower to the other. Mother
00:11:50
Speaker 1: Nature thanks the bee for the amazing job he does
00:11:54
Speaker 1: of spreading pollen and nectar through the plants. She tells
00:11:58
Speaker 1: him that the planet would be the same without him
00:12:01
Speaker 1: in the other bees. The bee buzzes happily and says
00:12:06
Speaker 1: he's just doing his job. Mother Nature walks into the
00:12:12
Speaker 1: middle of the meadow. She closes her hands, places her
00:12:17
Speaker 1: hands on her heart, and gives thanks to the flowers.
00:12:22
Speaker 1: The plants and the many insects that thrive there. She
00:12:27
Speaker 1: extends her appreciation to the birds dipping and diving through
00:12:32
Speaker 1: the air, and to the trees and hedges that fill
00:12:36
Speaker 1: the countryside with such a wonderful array of greenery. She
00:12:42
Speaker 1: opens her eyes, gazes softly at her surroundings, and says,
00:12:48
Speaker 1: I love you all. She hears the sound of running
00:12:55
Speaker 1: water and walks out of the meadow and towards a
00:12:59
Speaker 1: crystal clear She reaches the river and sits on the
00:13:04
Speaker 1: warm grass at the side of it. She thinks about
00:13:09
Speaker 1: the journey the river has taken, and pictures a trickle
00:13:13
Speaker 1: of water somewhere upstream that meandered gently through the fields,
00:13:20
Speaker 1: growing bigger and stronger, until it became the river she
00:13:26
Speaker 1: now sees. She thinks about its journey onwards and how
00:13:33
Speaker 1: it will flow into the vast ocean. Mother Nature watches
00:13:40
Speaker 1: fish swimming through the clear water and smiles at them.
00:13:45
Speaker 1: She looks downstream and sees a family of ducks gliding
00:13:50
Speaker 1: smoothly through the water, and beyond them is an otter
00:13:55
Speaker 1: lying on his back, drifting peacefully on the gentle current.
00:14:01
Speaker 1: She asks if anyone needs her help. They reply no
00:14:07
Speaker 1: and say they have everything they need. Thank you, Mother Nature.
00:14:16
Speaker 1: Closes her eyes and says to the river, thank you
00:14:21
Speaker 1: for providing a home and water to those who need it.
00:14:26
Speaker 1: I love you. She opens her eyes and thinks about
00:14:32
Speaker 1: the water on the planet, the streams rivers, waterfalls, and
00:14:37
Speaker 1: the amazing oceans. She closes her eyes again and brings
00:14:43
Speaker 1: forth an image of the falling water in its many forms,
00:14:49
Speaker 1: the soft, misty fall, the light refreshing rain, the sudden
00:14:55
Speaker 1: yet amazing downpours, and the beauty of snow. She sends
00:15:03
Speaker 1: her appreciation and love out to the bountiful supply of
00:15:07
Speaker 1: water on the planet and thanks it for allowing the
00:15:11
Speaker 1: Earth to continue thriving and growing. Her thoughts go to
00:15:18
Speaker 1: the beautiful sun and how it never fails to rise
00:15:23
Speaker 1: in the morning or set in the evening, how it
00:15:28
Speaker 1: provides warmth and light across the earth. Her love and
00:15:33
Speaker 1: appreciation deepened, and she tells the Sun how much she
00:15:39
Speaker 1: loves it and adds her heart felt thanks. Mother Nature
00:15:46
Speaker 1: smiles as she thinks about rainbows. She pictures a spectacular
00:15:53
Speaker 1: rainbow arcing across the sky, its colours so bright and
00:15:59
Speaker 1: beautiful that you could be forgiven for thinking it was
00:16:03
Speaker 1: made from pure magic. She thanks the rainbows of the
00:16:09
Speaker 1: past with their beautiful display of colors, and expresses gratitude
00:16:15
Speaker 1: for those rainbows that are yet to graze the sky
00:16:18
Speaker 1: in all their spectacular splendor. She feels a soft breeze
00:16:26
Speaker 1: on her face and thanks the wind for all it does,
00:16:30
Speaker 1: for the way it whispers gently through the trees and grass,
00:16:36
Speaker 1: how it supports flying birds on currents of air, and
00:16:41
Speaker 1: how it catches seeds and carries them across landscapes before
00:16:47
Speaker 1: releasing them gently to the ground where they can grow
00:16:51
Speaker 1: into strong plants. She opens her eyes, stands up, and
00:16:58
Speaker 1: slowly turns around, taking in the wonder and perfection of
00:17:04
Speaker 1: the countryside and those who live there. Her heart fills
00:17:09
Speaker 1: with love and warmth. She leaves the countryside behind and
00:17:16
Speaker 1: transports herself to a snowy climate on the northern part
00:17:20
Speaker 1: of the planet. The air is crisp and cold, and
00:17:25
Speaker 1: a light snowfall settles on her hair and gown. She
00:17:31
Speaker 1: doesn't feel the cold at all, then smiles at the
00:17:35
Speaker 1: perfectly formed snowflakes that land on her. She looks out
00:17:41
Speaker 1: at the landscape, which is blanketed in a thick covering
00:17:46
Speaker 1: of soft snow. There is a peaceful quietness in the atmosphere,
00:17:53
Speaker 1: and it makes Mother Nature feel even more relaxed. A
00:18:01
Speaker 1: polar bear appears on the snowy horizon and waves his
00:18:06
Speaker 1: paw and welcome. He ambles over to Mother Nature and
00:18:12
Speaker 1: they exchange warm hellos and a hope. The bear tells
00:18:18
Speaker 1: her about his day and his leisurely swims through the
00:18:22
Speaker 1: clear water, and how he left from one iceberg to
00:18:27
Speaker 1: the next just for the sheer fun of it. Mother
00:18:32
Speaker 1: Nature asks if the bear needs anything. The bear looks around,
00:18:38
Speaker 1: smiles softly, and says no, thank you. Everything is perfect,
00:18:49
Speaker 1: just perfect. I have everything I need here. They hug again,
00:18:59
Speaker 1: and there ambles away, ready to have more fun jumping
00:19:05
Speaker 1: across the icebergs. Mother Nature walks through the snow covered landscape.
00:19:12
Speaker 1: The crystalline snowflakes cover her hair and gown like a
00:19:17
Speaker 1: lacy shawl. She meets an Arctic fox strolling through the snow.
00:19:25
Speaker 1: They stop to chat, and after asking if she needs anything,
00:19:31
Speaker 1: the fox says no and thanks Mother Nature for her
00:19:34
Speaker 1: kindness in asking. Mother Nature carries on walking and meets
00:19:41
Speaker 1: more animals who have made the spectacular snowy landscape their home.
00:19:49
Speaker 1: She asks about their welfare and if there's anything she
00:19:53
Speaker 1: can do for them. The animals all say no but
00:19:58
Speaker 1: appreciate her concern. After making sure no one at all
00:20:05
Speaker 1: needs her help, she closes her eyes, places her hands
00:20:11
Speaker 1: over her heart, and to the snow covered land, she says,
00:20:18
Speaker 1: thank you for providing the perfect environment for these animals,
00:20:24
Speaker 1: those who live on the land and those who live
00:20:28
Speaker 1: in the water. I love you. She keeps her eyes closed,
00:20:35
Speaker 1: for she hasn't yet finished with the snowy environments on
00:20:39
Speaker 1: the planet. She transports herself to the southern part of
00:20:45
Speaker 1: the world. She opens her eyes and sees hundreds and
00:20:53
Speaker 1: hundreds of penguins in front of her. The sight of
00:20:58
Speaker 1: them fill her heart with joy, and she smiles widely.
00:21:06
Speaker 1: The penguins are involved in many activities. Some are skating
00:21:12
Speaker 1: across the ice, others are sliding down snowy hills, and
00:21:18
Speaker 1: some are huddled together in cozy groups. Mother Nature walks
00:21:26
Speaker 1: amongst the penguins and says Helloa to as many as
00:21:30
Speaker 1: she can. She can't resist having a little skate across
00:21:35
Speaker 1: the ice with a group of Emperor penguins. They hold
00:21:40
Speaker 1: out their wings and support Mother Nature as she moves smoothly.
00:21:46
Speaker 1: Across the slippery surface with them. She spends time talking
00:21:53
Speaker 1: to the penguins and is assured that everyone is happy
00:21:57
Speaker 1: and cared for and that there is nothing they need.
00:22:03
Speaker 1: Mother Nature says goodbye to the penguins and walks towards
00:22:08
Speaker 1: a pebbled beach. She gazes out at the ocean and
00:22:13
Speaker 1: sees a huge whale rising gracefully from the water. The
00:22:20
Speaker 1: whales movements are mesmerizing, and Mother Nature gets lost in
00:22:26
Speaker 1: the perfection of the creature's slow, majestic dance. Mother Nature
00:22:36
Speaker 1: thinks about the oceans of the world and those beings
00:22:41
Speaker 1: who live in them. She closes her eyes, puts her
00:22:48
Speaker 1: hands over her heart, and begins her gratitude practice. She
00:22:56
Speaker 1: expresses her gratitude and love to the ocean and those
00:23:01
Speaker 1: who live there. Her heart overflows with love, and a
00:23:09
Speaker 1: warm feeling of appreciation flows through her over and over again.
00:23:20
Speaker 1: She continues with her travels around the planet and makes
00:23:24
Speaker 1: sure she visits as many environments as she can. She
00:23:30
Speaker 1: stops to talk to the beings who live there and
00:23:34
Speaker 1: offers her help in case any one should need it. Soon,
00:23:42
Speaker 1: the sky begins to grow darker, and once she has
00:23:47
Speaker 1: finished with her travels, Mother Nature transports herself to the
00:23:53
Speaker 1: top of a beautiful mountain. She stands beneath a blanket
00:24:00
Speaker 1: of stars and looks out at the land below her.
00:24:06
Speaker 1: She sees trees and fields stretching out to the horizon.
00:24:14
Speaker 1: She spots winding rivers and cascading waterfalls. She hears the
00:24:21
Speaker 1: soothing sound of owls hooting and fields, the evening breeze
00:24:28
Speaker 1: wrapping around her like a nighttime blanket. She looks up
00:24:35
Speaker 1: at the twinkling stars and the full bright moon. She
00:24:41
Speaker 1: thanks the stars for their twinkling light and the moon
00:24:46
Speaker 1: for its roll in keeping the Earth spinning smoothly on
00:24:51
Speaker 1: its continuous journey around the Sun. As always, she adds
00:24:58
Speaker 1: a heart felt I Love you. She settles down on
00:25:06
Speaker 1: the grass and keeps her focus on the night sky.
00:25:11
Speaker 1: She pictures the planets beyond the moon, those planets that
00:25:17
Speaker 1: have been Earth's neighbors for billions of years. Her thoughts
00:25:25
Speaker 1: travel further into outer space, and she thinks about those
00:25:30

Speaker 1: her eyes, lowers her hands over her heart, and settles
00:27:49
Speaker 1: down in the soft grass of the mountain dop She
00:27:55
Speaker 1: falls asleep, holding the love for Earth securely in her heart.
00:28:04
