Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Coco Sleep, a podcast of

00:00:14

Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime

00:00:20

Speaker 1: a dream. I think Tonight's story features a creature we've

00:00:25

Speaker 1: not met yet. We've had many encounters with many animals

00:00:29

Speaker 1: by now, but never yet a story starring a raccoon.

00:00:34

Speaker 1: And he's not any old raccoon either, He's a mischievous

00:00:38

Speaker 1: little raccoon known by many wonderful names. Speaking of names,

00:00:43

Speaker 1: this time, I gave a big, big, big shout out

00:00:46

Speaker 1: to our newest collection of Coco glovers. Are you ready? Hello,

00:01:23

Speaker 1: now and get ready to listen to Tonight's story. After

00:01:26

Speaker 1: relaxing with some nice calm breaths, Breathe in through your

00:01:31

Speaker 1: nose and out through your mouth, slow it down a little,

00:01:37

Speaker 1: and breathe in for three and then out for four.

00:01:44

Speaker 1: Now in for four and out for four. Lovely breathe

00:01:54

Speaker 1: normally and gently close your eyes and snuggle down, as

00:01:58

Speaker 1: I'm about to introduce you to our friend, a mischievous

00:02:01

Speaker 1: little raccoon called Munchie. He's very friendly and loves to

00:02:07

Speaker 1: visit a street called Strawberry Avenue. I wonder why. And

00:02:11

Speaker 1: he's very popular visitor with all the families there, and

00:02:14

Speaker 1: he's often handed treats when he stops by. As Munchie

00:02:19

Speaker 1: moves from house to house, his belly gets bigger and bigger,

00:02:24

Speaker 1: and he gets up to even more shenanigans than usual.

00:02:27

Speaker 1: In this tale, Let's begin Munchie the Raccoon's Lazy Afternoon

00:02:34

Speaker 1: by Alicia Ainslie. Munchie was a raccoon who spent his

00:02:46

Speaker 1: time between his three favorite hobbies. One was roaming around

00:02:51

Speaker 1: wherever he pleased and making a home in different places

00:02:55

Speaker 1: each night. Two was rummaging in trash cans for scraps

00:02:59

Speaker 1: of food and finding meals wherever he could. And three

00:03:04

Speaker 1: was making mischief. Luckily for Munchie, he'd found a street

00:03:09

Speaker 1: full of houses that were always happy to feed him.

00:03:12

Speaker 1: A scrap or two. For years, Munchie had visited Strawberry

00:03:17

Speaker 1: Avenue and the families who lived there. There were four

00:03:21

Speaker 1: houses on one side of the street that all had

00:03:24

Speaker 1: gardens separated by big wooden fences. When Munch she felt

00:03:30

Speaker 1: like paying Strawberry Avenue a visit, he knew he was

00:03:33

Speaker 1: guaranteed to be greeted by at least one of the

00:03:36

Speaker 1: families and fed a little tree during his visit. On

00:03:41

Speaker 1: a particularly warm summer's day, Munchie the raccoon made his

00:03:46

Speaker 1: way to Strawberry Avenue. He hadn't eaten anything particularly scrumptious

00:03:51

Speaker 1: in a few days, and he was ready for a

00:03:53

Speaker 1: good feed. If any of the families were at home,

00:03:58

Speaker 1: then he knew they would be happy to oblige. The

00:04:02

Speaker 1: families he always visited were the Johnson family, the Lopez family,

00:04:08

Speaker 1: the Young family, and the Garcia family. They were all

00:04:12

Speaker 1: equally as generous as each other. So month she had

00:04:16

Speaker 1: a good feeling that today he would receive a meal.

00:04:19

Speaker 1: Fit fricking monce, she crawled up to the first garden

00:04:24

Speaker 1: fence and began climbing. Raccoons are excellent climbers, and he

00:04:30

Speaker 1: made his way over the fence with ease, landing on

00:04:35

Speaker 1: the soft green grass. Month She meandered up to the

00:04:40

Speaker 1: Johnston family's house. They had big glass sliding doors that

00:04:45

Speaker 1: led out onto the back porch, and month she made

00:04:49

Speaker 1: his way up to them. He placed his little hands

00:04:53

Speaker 1: on either side of his face and pressed his snout

00:04:57

Speaker 1: up against the glass to peek inside. His eyes darted

00:05:02

Speaker 1: from side to side as he inspected the inside of

00:05:06

Speaker 1: their house. He couldn't see any of the Johnson family members,

00:05:11

Speaker 1: but he could see a few plates of food laid

00:05:14

Speaker 1: out on the kitchen countertop munch, He licked his lips

00:05:19

Speaker 1: and his tummy started to rumble. How could he get

00:05:23

Speaker 1: hold of some of that food? He waited a few

00:05:28

Speaker 1: minutes to see if any of the Johnsons came by,

00:05:32

Speaker 1: but there was no sign of them, so he decided

00:05:36

Speaker 1: to attempt to grab their attention. Using his tiny fingers,

00:05:41

Speaker 1: he started tap tap tapping on the glass door, Tap

00:05:46

Speaker 1: tap tap, He went over and over again. Monk. She

00:05:52

Speaker 1: wasn't giving up easily, and he stood there tapping away

00:05:56

Speaker 1: for a few minutes before, to his delight, two of

00:05:59

Speaker 1: them the Johnson children, wandered into the kitchen. Can you

00:06:05

Speaker 1: hear that? The eleven year old Johnson boy asked his sister,

00:06:11

Speaker 1: where is that sound coming from? Right on cue, The

00:06:16

Speaker 1: seven year old Johnson daughter glanced out of the glass

00:06:20

Speaker 1: doors and spotted Munchie the raccoon standing there on the

00:06:24

Speaker 1: back porch with his little hands poised above the glass.

00:06:30

Speaker 1: It's cotton tail, the Johnson daughter cried with excitement, dashing

00:06:35

Speaker 1: forward to open the back door. Cotton Tail was what

00:06:40

Speaker 1: the Johnson family liked to call Munchie. He didn't think

00:06:44

Speaker 1: his tail looked particularly like cotton, but he didn't mind

00:06:48

Speaker 1: the nickname. The daughter opened up the glass door and

00:06:54

Speaker 1: bent down to stroke Munchie's head. The Johnson family loved him.

00:07:00

Speaker 1: I'm always so excited when Munchie came to visit. Ma'am,

00:07:05

Speaker 1: Cottontail is here, the son called out into the house

00:07:09

Speaker 1: before joining his sister in petting Munchie. Munchhie adored the

00:07:15

Speaker 1: attention and rolled over onto his back like a dog

00:07:19

Speaker 1: for belly robs. The Johnson mother came into the kitchen

00:07:24

Speaker 1: and saw Munchie lying on the floor getting attention from

00:07:28

Speaker 1: the kids. She laughed and said, hello, Cottontail, we've missed you.

00:07:38

Speaker 1: The Johnson family made a fuss of Munchie before asking

00:07:42

Speaker 1: him the golden question. Would he like some food? Munchie

00:07:48

Speaker 1: or cottontail in this particular household followed the mother over

00:07:52

Speaker 1: to the kitchen countertop, where the plates of food were

00:07:56

Speaker 1: laid out. Now, what can we give you to day?

00:08:01

Speaker 1: She muttered under her breath as she scanned the plates

00:08:05

Speaker 1: on the counter. Munchy's belly rumbled and grumbled as he

00:08:10

Speaker 1: waited with eager anticipation. Eventually, Mommy Johnson grabbed a couple

00:08:18

Speaker 1: of morsels of food off the plates and bent down

00:08:21

Speaker 1: to Munchie. She held out her hand and inside her

00:08:27

Speaker 1: palm she had a pizza roll, a few berries, and

00:08:31

Speaker 1: a slice of hard boiled egg. Munch's eyes widened with delight.

00:08:37

Speaker 1: What a feast. He gratefully took the bits of food

00:08:42

Speaker 1: from Mommy Johnson's hand and gobbled them all up. They

00:08:47

Speaker 1: were always a generous family, but today she had given

00:08:52

Speaker 1: him more than usual. He had definitely picked the right

00:08:57

Speaker 1: day to drop by for a visit. With a satisfied belly, Munk,

00:09:03

Speaker 1: she wandered back onto the porch, not wanting to outstay

00:09:08

Speaker 1: his welcome. The Johnson children gave him a final pet

00:09:14

Speaker 1: before telling him to visit again soon. Munchey waved his

00:09:19

Speaker 1: little hands at the family and crawled off into the

00:09:23

Speaker 1: garden and over the opposite fence. It was time to

00:09:27

Speaker 1: visit another family he knew. Munchche climbed down the fence

00:09:32

Speaker 1: into the next garden. This garden belonged to the Lopez family,

00:09:38

Speaker 1: and much to Munchhee's delight, they were already outside as

00:09:43

Speaker 1: if they were waiting for him. Mister and Missus Lopez

00:09:48

Speaker 1: were sitting down drinking a jug of iced tea on

00:09:50

Speaker 1: the verandah when they spotted Munchhee walking towards them. Well,

00:09:57

Speaker 1: look who it is, mister Lope chuckled with amusement. Missus

00:10:03

Speaker 1: Lopez glanced over her shoulder and declared, it's Greedy Gonzalez.

00:10:10

Speaker 1: Mister and Missus Lopez were no fools. They knew that

00:10:15

Speaker 1: month she only ever came round looking for food, hence

00:10:19

Speaker 1: their nickname for him, mun She liked the nickname. He

00:10:24

Speaker 1: thought it suited him quite well. The midday sun was

00:10:29

Speaker 1: beating down on the Lopez garden and Missus Lopez topped

00:10:33

Speaker 1: up her sunlotion while she spoke, do we have anything

00:10:38

Speaker 1: we can give Greedy Gonzales? She asked. Her husband. Munchie

00:10:45

Speaker 1: waited patiently while they debated what to feed their hungry visitor.

00:10:51

Speaker 1: Just as munch She thought he might be out of

00:10:54

Speaker 1: luck this time, mister Lopez went into the house and

00:10:58

Speaker 1: came back out with a bowl of fresh, smoky mac

00:11:02

Speaker 1: and cheese. I hope you like buffalo sauce, little guy,

00:11:08

Speaker 1: mister Lopez said, as he placed the bowl of mac

00:11:11

Speaker 1: and cheese on the table, grabbed a spoon, and dunked

00:11:15

Speaker 1: it into the oozing cheesy dish. He scooped a big

00:11:20

Speaker 1: serving out and onto the floor in front of Munchie.

00:11:25

Speaker 1: Munchie or greedy Gonzales at this house crept up to

00:11:30

Speaker 1: the macaroni cheese and gave it a sniff. The cheesy

00:11:35

Speaker 1: pasta was covered in a sticky sauce that smelt a

00:11:39

Speaker 1: little bit spicy. MUNCHI liked spicy food, so he decided

00:11:44

Speaker 1: to give it a go. He shoveled it into his

00:11:48

Speaker 1: mouth ravenously. It was delicious. He ate and ate until

00:11:57

Speaker 1: all the mac and cheese was gone, licking the left

00:12:02

Speaker 1: over sauce off his lips. Munche patted his belly triumphantly.

00:12:08

Speaker 1: He could always count on the Lopezes for good food.

00:12:14

Speaker 1: I think he liked the buffalo sauce. Missus Lopez smiled

00:12:19

Speaker 1: watching Munshiey lick his fingers clean Munchhe sniffed the air

00:12:26

Speaker 1: and noticed that a smoky scent was floating on the breeze.

00:12:31

Speaker 1: He turned to glance over the fence to the Lopez'

00:12:35

Speaker 1: neighbors and spotted a plume of smoke cascading up into

00:12:40

Speaker 1: the sky. He was intrigued. Monce she thanked the Lopezes

00:12:47

Speaker 1: for their kindness. In his usual way, he tiptoed over

00:12:51

Speaker 1: to them at their table and brushed his long, fuzzy

00:12:56

Speaker 1: striped tail against their legs. Mister and Missus Lopez grinned

00:13:02

Speaker 1: and responded, you're welcome, greedy Gonzales. Come again soon. Then

00:13:11

Speaker 1: Munschie the raccoon made his way over to the next fence.

00:13:16

Speaker 1: He was feeling very pleased with himself. His stomach was

00:13:20

Speaker 1: feeling much fuller now, and it was even beginning to

00:13:25

Speaker 1: protrude with all the pizza rolls, berries, hard boiled egg,

00:13:30

Speaker 1: and buffalo mac and cheese bobbing around inside. He patted

00:13:35

Speaker 1: it with contentment before climbing up the fence post. He

00:13:41

Speaker 1: had to move a little slower now, all the food

00:13:45

Speaker 1: in his belly was starting to weigh him down. He

00:13:50

Speaker 1: dragged his body up and up until he reached the

00:13:54

Speaker 1: top of the fence and could rest for a moment.

00:13:58

Speaker 1: He caught his breath and looked down into the next garden.

00:14:04

Speaker 1: His eyes lit up with delight as he realized what

00:14:08

Speaker 1: all the smoke had been that he had seen floating

00:14:11

Speaker 1: above the fence. The next garden belonged to the Young family.

00:14:18

Speaker 1: The Young family consisted of a mother, father, a little

00:14:22

Speaker 1: girl called Darcy, and their family dog, Chow Chow. Chow

00:14:28

Speaker 1: Chow rolled around in the grass playing with a squeaky

00:14:32

Speaker 1: toy while Darcy sat in a paddling pool with her mother.

00:14:37

Speaker 1: Mister Young was standing next to the barbecue, sizzling sausages

00:14:41

Speaker 1: and flipping burger patties on the grill. That was what

00:14:46

Speaker 1: the smoke had been, the barbecue. Munch she inhaled the

00:14:52

Speaker 1: smoky aroma, and his tongue began to salivate as he

00:14:57

Speaker 1: imagined gobbling up a burgher ord with a belly full

00:15:03

Speaker 1: of food already, Munch shimmeied his way down the fence

00:15:07

Speaker 1: post and into the Young family's garden. Straight away, Chowchow

00:15:14

Speaker 1: the dog raced over to greet Munchie. And licked his

00:15:17

Speaker 1: face affectionately. Munchi batted the friendly dog away and wiped

00:15:23

Speaker 1: the slobber from his furry cheek. Mun she wasn't usually

00:15:28

Speaker 1: that fond of dogs, but he didn't mind chow chow.

00:15:33

Speaker 1: Next Darcy, the little girl noticed muns she's arrival, and

00:15:39

Speaker 1: she called out, Look, Mommy, it's Ricky Raccoon. This was

00:15:45

Speaker 1: maybe Munchee's least favorite of the names given to him

00:15:49

Speaker 1: by the residence of Strawberry Avenue, but he would put

00:15:53

Speaker 1: up with it for a bite of that barbecued food.

00:15:57

Speaker 1: Munch scampered over to the paddle and washed his itty

00:16:02

Speaker 1: bitty hands in the cool water, much to Darcy's amusement.

00:16:08

Speaker 1: His fingers were still covered in sticky buffalo sauce and

00:16:11

Speaker 1: he wanted it gone. Now, Look, Mommy, Ricky Raccoon is

00:16:17

Speaker 1: washing his hands, Darcy giggled happily, and her mother laughed too.

00:16:24

Speaker 1: He must be washing his hands ready for lunch, missus

00:16:28

Speaker 1: Young added. Darcy turned to her daddy standing at the

00:16:34

Speaker 1: barbecue and pleaded, please, can Ricky Raccoon have a beet rootburger?

00:16:40

Speaker 1: Daddy please? Mister Young chuckled and replied, the burghers are

00:16:47

Speaker 1: still cooking, so he will need to wait until they've

00:16:50

Speaker 1: cooled down a bit first. Darcy smiled and replied, okay, Daddy,

00:16:58

Speaker 1: thank you once She was grateful for the break in

00:17:02

Speaker 1: receiving his food. Anyway, his tummy already had quite a

00:17:07

Speaker 1: lot of food in it. He wanted to have room

00:17:10

Speaker 1: to enjoy the beetroot burgher properly. While he waited for

00:17:15

Speaker 1: the Burghers to cool down. Munch She, or Ricky Raccoon

00:17:20

Speaker 1: as the Youngs referred to him, decided to go for

00:17:24

Speaker 1: a little splash in the paddling pool. The mid afternoon

00:17:29

Speaker 1: sun was hot and he needed to cool down his

00:17:32

Speaker 1: furry body too. He jumped in next to Darcy and

00:17:37

Speaker 1: she squealed with glee as the funny raccoon sat next

00:17:41

Speaker 1: to her. They splashed each other back and forth and

00:17:46

Speaker 1: played a little game. Even Chowchow wanted to get involved

00:17:51

Speaker 1: and join in the fun. Once munch She had suitably

00:17:56

Speaker 1: called down in the paddling pool, mister Young announced that

00:18:00

Speaker 1: the Burghers were ready. Darcy bounded over to the garden

00:18:06

Speaker 1: table and Munchie followed closely behind, with chau Chow in toe.

00:18:12

Speaker 1: Darcy put a beetroot burger on a paper plate. Then

00:18:17

Speaker 1: she loaded it up with a splurge of ketchup and

00:18:20

Speaker 1: a dollop of mustard before turning around to face Munchie.

00:18:27

Speaker 1: Can Ricky Raccoon sit at the table? Darcy asked her

00:18:32

Speaker 1: mother and father, but they both cracked up with laughter

00:18:36

Speaker 1: and told her that Ricky would need to eat on

00:18:39

Speaker 1: the ground. He was a raccoon after all. Darcy shrugged

00:18:45

Speaker 1: her shoulders and said, Okay, here you go, Ricky. Then

00:18:51

Speaker 1: she placed the paper plate on the ground in front

00:18:54

Speaker 1: of Munchie and waited for him to tuck in. Munchie

00:18:59

Speaker 1: Emi grabbed the beetroot burger off the plate and gobbled

00:19:03

Speaker 1: it down. The combination of the flavors of the earthy beetroot,

00:19:10

Speaker 1: sweet ketchup, and tangy mustard tasted mouth watering. Darcy giggled

00:19:18

Speaker 1: as she watched once she eat the beetroot burger in

00:19:21

Speaker 1: one mouthful, and she turned back to her parents and said,

00:19:27

Speaker 1: Pricky raccoon must be really hungry he ate that so fast.

00:19:35

Speaker 1: But little did Darcy Young know that Munchie was far

00:19:39

Speaker 1: from hungry. In fact, he was now so full that

00:19:45

Speaker 1: his belly was poking out, and he felt like he

00:19:48

Speaker 1: couldn't manage another bite. He picked up the paper plate

00:19:54

Speaker 1: and licked it clean. When he was finished, he discarded

00:19:59

Speaker 1: it to the sun and Chow Chow the dog picked

00:20:02

Speaker 1: it up and carried it off to his bed to

00:20:05

Speaker 1: chew on. Darcy's mummy grabbed her attention and said, Darcy, honey,

00:20:13

Speaker 1: your food is getting cold. Darcy listened to her mother

00:20:19

Speaker 1: and turned back to Munchie. She patted him on the

00:20:23

Speaker 1: head and said, I've got to go eat my food now, Rickie,

00:20:28

Speaker 1: but I hope you'll come for lunch again soon. Munchy

00:20:32

Speaker 1: smiled gratefully and watched her climb up into her chair

00:20:37

Speaker 1: at the garden table. The afternoon was drawing closer to

00:20:43

Speaker 1: its end, and it wouldn't be too long before the

00:20:46

Speaker 1: summer sun started fading away. Before he retired to bed

00:20:52

Speaker 1: for the night, Munchie had one last house on Strawberry

00:20:57

Speaker 1: Avenue to visit. He waddled over to the other garden

00:21:03

Speaker 1: fence and attempted to climb it. He took a couple

00:21:07

Speaker 1: of reaches upwards, but then slid back down. He tried

00:21:13

Speaker 1: climbing again, but yet again he slid back down the

00:21:18

Speaker 1: post much He kept trying to climb the fence, but

00:21:24

Speaker 1: with no success. His little legs and claws couldn't carry

00:21:29

Speaker 1: the weight of his belly full of food. Oh no,

00:21:35

Speaker 1: cried Darcy, watching from the table. Pricky can't climb the fence.

00:21:44

Speaker 1: Mister and Missus Young watched as the mischievous raccoon persistently

00:21:50

Speaker 1: tried to climb up the fence, but over and over

00:21:54

Speaker 1: again kept falling down on to his bottom. Missus Young

00:22:01

Speaker 1: got up from the table and walked over to Munchie

00:22:04

Speaker 1: or Ricky as she called him. She picked him up

00:22:08

Speaker 1: and groaned as she lifted him and placed him on

00:22:11

Speaker 1: top of the fence. Waving good bye, Munch. She rolled

00:22:16

Speaker 1: his way over the finer garden fence and into the

00:22:20

Speaker 1: garden of the Garcia family. His belly was so full

00:22:26

Speaker 1: that it was popping out like a beech board in

00:22:28

Speaker 1: his stomach, and he walked a lot slower than he

00:22:32

Speaker 1: did earlier in the day. Munche's tummy was so full

00:22:37

Speaker 1: of yummy food that he felt sleepy. He gazed around

00:22:43

Speaker 1: the Garcia family's garden and noticed that there was nobody around.

00:22:50

Speaker 1: The late afternoon sun cast a golden glow over their

00:22:55

Speaker 1: lawn and crystal clear swimming pool, and Munchee he found himself,

00:23:01

Speaker 1: stretching out his arms and taking a big yawn. Monch's

00:23:09

Speaker 1: eyes fell droopy and he suddenly felt the urge to

00:23:15

Speaker 1: take a long nap. He waddled over to the swimming pool,

00:23:20

Speaker 1: where he noticed an inflated floating water mattress resting against

00:23:26

Speaker 1: the side. He hauled himself with his chubby little belly

00:23:31

Speaker 1: onto the water mattress and pushed it out into the

00:23:36

Speaker 1: middle of the water. He laid back and enjoyed the

00:23:41

Speaker 1: bobbing sensation as he glided with ease across the water

00:23:47

Speaker 1: and into the center of the swimming pool. Monce she

00:23:53

Speaker 1: closed his eyes and sighed. He tapped his big belly,

00:24:00

Speaker 1: satisfied and relaxed. A little nap in the evening sun

00:24:06

Speaker 1: was just what he needed, and the gentle drifting of

00:24:11

Speaker 1: the floating water mattress rocked him away to a sweet slumber.

00:24:19

Speaker 1: After a while, Munch's ears began to twitch. He could

00:24:26

Speaker 1: hear a gentle chattering sound around him. He peeped open

00:24:33

Speaker 1: one of his eyes and squinted in the fading evening sun.

00:24:40

Speaker 1: Once his eyes adjusted to the light, he noticed the

00:24:45

Speaker 1: seer faces staring down at him. There was the Garcia

00:24:52

Speaker 1: family of course, but by their side were the Johnson family,

00:24:58

Speaker 1: the Lopez family, and the Young family. Monce She looked

00:25:05

Speaker 1: up at them all sheepishly from his reclined position on

00:25:10

Speaker 1: the floating mattress. Why were they all together? Were they

00:25:17

Speaker 1: annoyed that he had eaten all their food and then

00:25:20

Speaker 1: fallen asleep in the swimming pool. But Monshi's questions were

00:25:26

Speaker 1: answered when the four families burst out into laughter. Oh, cottontail,

00:25:35

Speaker 1: the Johnson family gushed with amusement. That's typical of greedy Gonzales.

00:25:43

Speaker 1: The Lopezes added, he must be filled up after enjoying

00:25:49

Speaker 1: that beetroot burger. The Youngs chuckled. The Johnson's mentioned how

00:25:57

Speaker 1: he had scoffed up lots of pizza rolls some berries

00:26:00

Speaker 1: at their house, and the Lopezes brought up how he

00:26:05

Speaker 1: had gobbled up buffalo mac and cheese at theirs. All

00:26:10

Speaker 1: of the families laughed together a little Munchhey's garden food tour.

00:26:17

Speaker 1: No wonder he needed a nap in the Garcia's family pool.

00:26:25

Speaker 1: Monce She smiled mischievously from the middle of the swimming pool.

00:26:31

Speaker 1: What a relief. Nobody was mad at him. Instead, they

00:26:37

Speaker 1: all found it rather funny. Once she made his way

00:26:43

Speaker 1: back to the side of the swimming pool and hopped

00:26:46

Speaker 1: off the water mattress and onto the patio. He shook

00:26:51

Speaker 1: his furry body and water droplets shot off in all directions.

00:26:59

Speaker 1: The family all giggled at Munchee and started walking back

00:27:04

Speaker 1: down the lawn towards the house. Monk. She spotted immediately

00:27:12

Speaker 1: that down at the bottom of the garden was a

00:27:15

Speaker 1: buffet table all laid out for everyone to pick from.

00:27:20

Speaker 1: There was a bowl of mac and cheese from the Lopezes,

00:27:25

Speaker 1: burghers from the Youngs, pizza rolls from the Johnsons, and

00:27:31

Speaker 1: the Garciers had neatly laid out other various nibbles, including

00:27:36

Speaker 1: a big ice cream cake. The four families had come

00:27:42

Speaker 1: together to enjoy the last of the day's warm sun

00:27:47

Speaker 1: with a garden party, and Munshee was clearly now the

00:27:52

Speaker 1: guest of honor. Monk. She thought he had room for

00:27:58

Speaker 1: just one more thing dessert. As if she read his mind,

00:28:04

Speaker 1: Missus Garcia walked over to him with a bowl of

00:28:07

Speaker 1: ice cream cake munch. She lapped up the delicious sugary

00:28:14

Speaker 1: cake from the bowl and licked his lips triumphantly. He

00:28:20

Speaker 1: had enjoyed quite the feast to day. Noticing a spare

00:28:27

Speaker 1: sun lounger in a shaded corner of the garden munch,

00:28:31

Speaker 1: she trundled his way over and laid down again. He

00:28:36

Speaker 1: definitely couldn't manage any more food. To day, he had

00:28:42

Speaker 1: devoured his fair share of tasty treats, all supplied by

00:28:48

Speaker 1: the kind families he visited often on this street. Munch,

00:28:54

Speaker 1: she closed his eyes once more and took a deep

00:28:58

Speaker 1: breath th of the warm evening air. Mister Garcia gently

00:29:05

Speaker 1: placed a little blanket over Munchie's big belly and legs

00:29:10

Speaker 1: to keep him warm and comfortable, and month she snuggled

00:29:15

Speaker 1: up beneath it. The four families continued with their gardens

00:29:22

Speaker 1: soiree whilst Munchie rested after a long day of climbing fences,

00:29:30

Speaker 1: exploring gardens, and eating enough food to feed a neighborhood party.

00:29:39

Speaker 1: The mischievous raccoon drifted off peacefully and snored like a

00:29:46

Speaker 1: jet plane from his lounger while the sun set over

00:29:51

Speaker 1: the tops of the houses on Strawberry Avenue and the

00:29:56

Speaker 1: rest of the neighborhood wound down for the night.
