Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Coco Sleep, your podcast of

Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime

00:00:20

Speaker 1: a dream. Tonight's story features are wonderfully named feline friends

00:00:25

00:00:29

Speaker 1: I'm doubly delighted to welcome two cats into the Cocoa

00:00:32

Speaker 1: Club tonight. What perfect timing. So here's a mighty big

00:00:38

Speaker 1: meal to cat listeners Nat Show and Darth and their

00:00:41

Speaker 1: human Stella, and also a warm welcome to siblings Luella

00:00:46

Speaker 1: and Arbor, Genesis and Gabriel, Declan, Wyatt, Rosie and Randy.

00:00:53

Speaker 1: We love having you in the club and hope you

00:00:55

Speaker 1: enjoy listening to all the extra hours of stories, either

00:00:58

Speaker 1: on your own or cuddled up with your pa too.

00:01:01

Speaker 1: So let's settle down in bed now and get relaxed

00:01:04

Speaker 1: and comfy ready to listen to tonight's story. There have

00:01:09

Speaker 1: been some unusual things going on down near the diner,

00:01:13

Speaker 1: and we'll soon meet a detective Dalmatian by the name

00:01:16

Speaker 1: of Hash Brown who's hot on the case. The more

00:01:20

Speaker 1: relaxed you are, the easier it will be to listen,

00:01:23

Speaker 1: and who knows you might solve the mystery. Or you

00:01:27

Speaker 1: might fall asleep before the end, but that's also fine.

00:01:30

Speaker 1: You can catch up anytime. Let's now join our friends

00:01:35

Speaker 1: and begin. Potato and Beans help Detective Hash Brown by

00:01:40

Speaker 1: Susannah McLaughlin. It was a hot, sunny summer's day, and

00:01:51

Speaker 1: two roller skating diner cats by the names of Potato

00:01:55

Speaker 1: and Beans were opening their shutters. Although tumbleweed rolled on

00:02:00

Speaker 1: the breeze, bobbing and floating across the desert, the diner

00:02:05

Speaker 1: itself was far from deserted. The first customers had already

00:02:10

Speaker 1: streamed in, and before Potato had even flipped the sign

00:02:14

Speaker 1: to open, an eclectic bunch of animals were reclining on

00:02:18

Speaker 1: plush stools and sofas with a steaming mug of coffee

00:02:22

Speaker 1: in hand. Beans put the jug of coffee down on

00:02:26

Speaker 1: the counter with a satisfied smile. Another day had begun.

00:02:32

Speaker 1: Missus Pigs skated through the saloon doors of the kitchen,

00:02:36

Speaker 1: placed her trotters on her hips, and smiled. There'd be

00:02:40

Speaker 1: plenty of pancakes to flip this morning. Missus Pig and

00:02:45

Speaker 1: the two cats swirled and twirled around the diner, ducking

00:02:49

Speaker 1: and gliding between one another, sliding under tables and whirling

00:02:53

Speaker 1: around corners, collecting orders from every animal in the place.

00:02:58

Speaker 1: Then missus Pig collected the tickets together and zoomed into

00:03:03

Speaker 1: the kitchen as the saloon doors one closed behind her.

00:03:08

Speaker 1: A satisfying sizzle hissed through to the diner as she

00:03:12

Speaker 1: cracked the first egg onto her hot plate. Beans smiled.

00:03:18

Speaker 1: What a team they made. They whiled away the morning,

00:03:23

Speaker 1: feeding animals from the middle of nowhere and the outskirts

00:03:26

Speaker 1: of everywhere, raccoons, opossums, a skunk or two, the usual crowd,

00:03:33

Speaker 1: and a few not so usual. Around ten am, a

00:03:38

Speaker 1: poodle with a curly boufont and a frilly outfit pushed

00:03:42

Speaker 1: a fluffy litter of puppies in a pram, making everybody

00:03:46

Speaker 1: cool and babble at their cuteness. At eleven, a hedgehog

00:03:52

Speaker 1: named Prickles ordered tater tots and popped a couple on

00:03:55

Speaker 1: the end of his longest spines to ensure he didn't

00:03:58

Speaker 1: spike anyone pushing. At lunchtime, a friendly giant squid slid

00:04:05

Speaker 1: into the diner and asked to try on Ozzy, the

00:04:08

Speaker 1: dishwashing octopus's roller skates. The two practiced skating in the

00:04:13

Speaker 1: parking lot and quickly became fast friends. In the afternoon,

00:04:19

Speaker 1: when the sun was moving towards the west, hanging hot

00:04:23

Speaker 1: and golden in the sky, the diner was quiet. Potato

00:04:28

Speaker 1: and Beans had busied themselves with the task of taste

00:04:31

Speaker 1: testing missus pigs mud Pie. The two cats had put

00:04:35

Speaker 1: their faces to their plates, and soon their fur was

00:04:39

Speaker 1: covered with chocolate all the way up to their eyebrows.

00:04:45

Speaker 1: At this time, Detective Brown walked through the door. Unusually,

00:04:51

Speaker 1: such a scene would make the Dalmatian laugh. He often

00:04:55

Speaker 1: took delight in Potato and Beans's silliness when he popped

00:04:58

Speaker 1: in for his afternoon tea and slice of peach pie,

00:05:02

Speaker 1: but today he looked troubled. He ordered an omelet with

00:05:07

Speaker 1: a side of gravy. Potato and Beans soon wiped their

00:05:13

Speaker 1: faces and paws clean and stood up straight. This was

00:05:17

Speaker 1: most unusual. Detective Hash Brown never ordered a full meal

00:05:23

Speaker 1: at the diner. He always said no meal could beat

00:05:27

Speaker 1: the kibble sandwich that his wife prepared for him every morning,

00:05:31

Speaker 1: because she always made it with love. Potato and Beans

00:05:37

Speaker 1: had never argued. They knew that there was nothing more

00:05:41

Speaker 1: delicious to dogs than dog biscuits, especially when prepared by

00:05:46

Speaker 1: the one they loved most. What is it, Detective Beans asked,

00:05:53

Speaker 1: you look sad. Where is your kibble sandwich? Hash Brown

00:06:01

Speaker 1: shook his head perplexedly. I don't know, Beans, he said.

00:06:08

Speaker 1: I put it in the fridge at the police station

00:06:11

Speaker 1: when I arrived, but it was gone by the time

00:06:14

Speaker 1: I got hungry. I was out on patrols, and I

00:06:18

Speaker 1: thought I would come here instead. Nothing beats a kibble sandwich,

00:06:23

Speaker 1: but Mama Pig's omelet is just the next best thing.

00:06:29

Speaker 1: Beans and Potato turned their heads slowly to look at

00:06:32

Speaker 1: each other a missing sandwich. It sounded like there was

00:06:39

Speaker 1: a mystery to solve. Maybe the diner cats could help.

00:06:45

Speaker 1: The two of them rolled back and forth, back and

00:06:48

Speaker 1: forth for a while, tapping their chins and stroking their whiskers.

00:06:54

Speaker 1: This was a lunch mystery, and they knew lunch. Beans

00:07:01

Speaker 1: said that they should make a list of everything unusual

00:07:04

Speaker 1: that had happened that day. Potato began to reel off

00:07:09

Speaker 1: things that could be clues. Most of them were silly.

00:07:14

Speaker 1: Beans was sure. It didn't matter that the road tripping

00:07:17

Speaker 1: raccoon socks didn't match, or that Ozzy the dishwasher had

00:07:21

Speaker 1: been caught enjoying some cheesy pop music rather than his

00:07:24

Speaker 1: usual rock and roll when Mumma Pig was out on

00:07:27

Speaker 1: a break. But there was one thing that made the

00:07:32

Speaker 1: cogs in beans head spin. Sheriff Opossum had come to

00:07:39

Speaker 1: the diner earlier, which was far from unusual, but the

00:07:44

Speaker 1: interesting thing was that she ordered a strawberry milkshake instead

00:07:49

Speaker 1: of her usual vanilla. She had asked for extra extra

00:07:54

Speaker 1: strawberry and seemed rather rushed. Beans caught grew Mama Pig

00:08:00

Speaker 1: from the kitchen. She was wise and could probably help.

00:08:07

Speaker 1: Mamma Pig entered the diner and smiled at Beans, Potato

00:08:11

Speaker 1: and Detective hash Brown with her kind, warm eyes. She

00:08:16

Speaker 1: was a little pink in the cheeks and grinned as

00:08:19

Speaker 1: she stood under the fan, saying it was very hot

00:08:22

Speaker 1: in the kitchen. She had been sitting in front of

00:08:25

Speaker 1: the oven, watching her bread rolls rise and turn crispy.

00:08:30

Speaker 1: She chuckled and said that it was so hot that

00:08:33

Speaker 1: Ozzie had popped a few ice cubes in his dish washer.

00:08:38

Speaker 1: She smiled even brighter as she mentioned Ozzy. She and

00:08:43

Speaker 1: the octopus were good friends, spending all that time together

00:08:48

Speaker 1: in the kitchen. Beans asked Mama Pig whether she'd been

00:08:53

Speaker 1: watching the diner when Sheriff of Possum came in. She nodded.

00:08:59

Speaker 1: I had just cooked the fluffiest pancakes you've ever seen,

00:09:03

Speaker 1: and I was very pleased with myself. I was watching

00:09:08

Speaker 1: through the kitchen door window as I wanted to see

00:09:11

Speaker 1: the customer take the first bite. She smiled. Well, when

00:09:17

Speaker 1: I started nosyin it's hard to stop, and I saw

00:09:22

Speaker 1: the sheriff enter an order her milkshake. She looked very rushed.

00:09:29

Speaker 1: She drank the milkshake in one and the whole time

00:09:32

Speaker 1: she was making a yucky face as if she didn't

00:09:35

Speaker 1: like it at all. This surprised me, as I saw

00:09:40

Speaker 1: you prepare the drink, Beans an, I know you made

00:09:44

Speaker 1: the most delicious milkshakes in the hole of the valley.

00:09:49

Speaker 1: Beans continued to pace whilst Potato sat on a chair

00:09:54

Speaker 1: looking confused. Suddenly Beans had an idea. Maybe Sheriff for

00:10:03

Speaker 1: Possum took your kibble sandwich by misteak, she said to

00:10:07

Speaker 1: the detective. Only dogs enjoy dark biscuit sandwiches. Maybe she

00:10:15

Speaker 1: had tucked into the sandwich whilst on patrol, thinking it

00:10:20

Speaker 1: was her own, only to get a mouthful of kibble.

00:10:25

Speaker 1: She wouldn't have liked that and would have rushed to

00:10:28

Speaker 1: find something delicious to wash the taste out of her mouth,

00:10:32

Speaker 1: like a strawberry milkshake with extra strawberries. Potato. Almost fell

00:10:41

Speaker 1: off her chair, she was so in awe of being smarts.

00:10:47

Speaker 1: The two cats touched their front paws together and bounced

00:10:51

Speaker 1: around in a circle, as they always did when they

00:10:54

Speaker 1: solved a puzzle. Mamma Pig gave them both a proud

00:10:58

Speaker 1: squeeze before hurrying back into the kitchen to make sure

00:11:02

Speaker 1: her cookies didn't burn. Detective Hash Brown picked up his

00:11:08

Speaker 1: radio and called out to the sheriff. Before long, the

00:11:12

Speaker 1: possum answered and confirmed the cat's theory. She said the

00:11:17

Speaker 1: sandwich looked just like her own, except when she took

00:11:21

Speaker 1: a bite, she tasted dry, crumbly dog biscuits. She immediately

00:11:27

Speaker 1: headed to the diner to wash away the taste with

00:11:29

Speaker 1: a delicious milkshake. She apologized to Detective Brown and promised

00:11:35

Speaker 1: she'd be more careful when grabbing her lunch and future

00:11:39

Speaker 1: for both of their sakes. Detective Brown put down his

00:11:44

Speaker 1: radio and gave the two cats a proud smile. Hey

00:11:51

Speaker 1: he said, You cats aren't bad detectives. What do you

00:11:57

Speaker 1: say to h helping me out this afternoon? Ozzie peeked

00:12:02

Speaker 1: his head out of the kitchen. I can look after

00:12:05

Speaker 1: the diner, Detective Potato and Detective Beans, he said excitedly.

00:12:11

Speaker 1: The two cats unlaced their skates, took off their aprons,

00:12:15

Speaker 1: and padded out into the midday sun, where Detective Brown's

00:12:20

Speaker 1: car gleamed in the parking lot. As they hopped in,

00:12:25

Speaker 1: Detective Brown rolled down the roof, put on his shades,

00:12:29

Speaker 1: and ran the engine. The car purred to life, harmonizing

00:12:34

Speaker 1: with the purs of the two excited cats in the

00:12:37

Speaker 1: back seats. Where do we start, Detective Beans asked? Up there,

00:12:46

Speaker 1: Hash Brown said, pointing towards a mountaintop with his paw.

00:12:52

Speaker 1: Detective Brown began to drive, telling the cats that he

00:12:56

Speaker 1: had been given a case to investigate. Sandy. The skunk

00:13:01

Speaker 1: had a secret helper, and she wanted to find out

00:13:05

Speaker 1: who it was. Sandy spent her days traveling the wilderness

00:13:10

Speaker 1: on her motorbike, gathering wildflowers and herbs to turn into

00:13:15

Speaker 1: sweet smelling perfume. Recently, however, something unusual had been happening

00:13:21

Speaker 1: a little closer to home. Sandy's own garden was unusually

00:13:27

Speaker 1: bare of flowers and herbs. She was so busy gathering

00:13:31

Speaker 1: wild ones she didn't have time to water, pot, plant

00:13:36

Speaker 1: and prune. However, one by one over the last few weeks,

00:13:42

Speaker 1: potted plants seemed to be walking themselves over to her

00:13:46

Speaker 1: front porch, not walking, actually floating. Sandy was close to

00:13:54

Speaker 1: having a full garden of beautifully looked after succulents, cacti,

00:13:59

Speaker 1: and tropical flowers, but she had no idea who to thank,

00:14:05

Speaker 1: so she put Detective hash Brown on the case and

00:14:11

Speaker 1: Deputy Potato and Deputy Beans. Detective Brown added the two

00:14:17

Speaker 1: cats were wide eyed mysterious floating plants. This was a

00:14:23

Speaker 1: mystery indeed. Around the hill, through the gorge, and up

00:14:29

Speaker 1: on the ridge line they went until they found themselves

00:14:33

Speaker 1: outside Sandy's shack. The shack was made of wood, carved

00:14:38

Speaker 1: with flowers and engravings of twirling vines. Its shutters were

00:14:43

Speaker 1: painted a deep green, and a rocking chair gently rocked

00:14:48

Speaker 1: in the breeze on the creaky porch. The shack looked

00:14:52

Speaker 1: out over the rolling planes, dotted with cacti here and there,

00:14:57

Speaker 1: and a glimmering oasis to the eas. In front of

00:15:03

Speaker 1: the shack was a small sea of potted plants orchids

00:15:07

Speaker 1: burst from the soil in flashes of white and pink

00:15:11

Speaker 1: and ALOVERA stood proudly with its juicy shoots pointing to

00:15:15

Speaker 1: the sky. There were small palm trees and papaya plants,

00:15:20

Speaker 1: peach trees, and pea shoots, to name a few. Sandy

00:15:25

Speaker 1: emerged from the cabin and greeted them with sweet smelling hugs,

00:15:29

Speaker 1: enveloping them in her mint and petunia scented perfume. The

00:15:34

Speaker 1: cats took in long sniffs and sighed softly. Sandy thanked

00:15:40

Speaker 1: them for coming and pointed her bushy black and white

00:15:43

Speaker 1: tail at her new garden. Can you believe it, she said,

00:15:50

Speaker 1: It's so beautiful, isn't it. The cats and the dog

00:15:55

Speaker 1: nodded and murmured in agreement. Sparkles of water glimmered against

00:16:01

Speaker 1: waxy green leaves in the sun. I'm not even the

00:16:05

Speaker 1: one who waters them, Sandy said. Every afternoon, the watering

00:16:11

Speaker 1: can floats in the air and pours water on whichever

00:16:16

Speaker 1: plants need it. Potato and beans mulled this over. Potato

00:16:21

Speaker 1: spoke first. It must be magic, she said, Matter of factly,

00:16:28

Speaker 1: have you ever heard about the elves and the shoemaker.

00:16:32

Speaker 1: My mom used to read that to me when I

00:16:34

Speaker 1: was a kitten. The shoemaker works so hard that some

00:16:38

Speaker 1: elves decide to come at night and make his shoes

00:16:41

Speaker 1: for him. Sandy, you work so hard on your business,

00:16:46

Speaker 1: maybe someone wanted to do something nice for you too.

00:16:51

Speaker 1: Beans shook her head. It's a very clever theory, Potato,

00:16:57

Speaker 1: she said, kindly, But there are no elves in these parts.

00:17:03

Speaker 1: Around Christmas, maybe, but not in the height of summer.

00:17:08

Speaker 1: Potato considered this must be fairies, then, she said, with

00:17:14

Speaker 1: a decided nod. Detective Brown suggested that they explore the

00:17:20

Speaker 1: area for clues. Beans and Potato said they would inspect

00:17:24

Speaker 1: the garden whilst Detective Brown interviewed Sandy. The two cats

00:17:30

Speaker 1: went from pot to pot, looking at each plant. They

00:17:34

Speaker 1: dug their paws in the soil and stroked each silky

00:17:37

Speaker 1: smooth leaf. They measured the stems and tapped on the pots.

00:17:43

Speaker 1: There was one pot that Potato was particularly interested in.

00:17:49

Speaker 1: She thought it may contain a clue. It was a

00:17:52

Speaker 1: tropical plant with a big red flower with five wide,

00:17:58

Speaker 1: soft petals and a yellow, powdery center. Bean said that

00:18:03

Speaker 1: when Detective hash Brown was looking for clues, he often

00:18:07

Speaker 1: followed his nose. He could often be seen sniffing at

00:18:11

Speaker 1: something or other, and he seemed to make excellent discoveries

00:18:14

Speaker 1: that way. Potato nodded and placed her little pink nose

00:18:20

Speaker 1: on the center of the flower and took a big,

00:18:23

Speaker 1: deep sniff. The golden, dusty pollen rushed into Potato's little nose,

00:18:30

Speaker 1: and she let out the loudest sneeze she had ever sneezed.

00:18:35

Speaker 1: The sneeze was so powerful, in fact, the Potato was

00:18:40

Speaker 1: thrown back onto one leg, where she tried to balance,

00:18:44

Speaker 1: wind milling her arms, before landing on her bottom with

00:18:47

Speaker 1: a giggle. Another giggle emanated from the pot beside them,

00:18:53

Speaker 1: or at least the cats thought it came from the pot,

00:18:57

Speaker 1: But plants can't laugh. The cats looked around in befoddlement.

00:19:05

Speaker 1: Who was that? Potato asked beans in shock. In front

00:19:10

Speaker 1: of their eyes, a creature appeared slowly, as if by magic.

00:19:17

Speaker 1: He was like a lizard, but much bigger, with large,

00:19:22

Speaker 1: friendly eyes and a tale that curled up into a spiral.

00:19:26

Speaker 1: He was bright green with a gentle, bashful smile. I'm sorry,

00:19:34

Speaker 1: he said, I didn't mean to startle you. I usually

00:19:39

Speaker 1: don't talk to new animals. HOWM a little shy at first.

00:19:44

Speaker 1: Do you see, Potato and Beans beamed at the creature

00:19:49

Speaker 1: a chameleon. Could he be the one behind the mysterious garden.

00:19:57

Speaker 1: Don't worry, we all get shy sometimes times, Potato and

00:20:01

Speaker 1: Beans told the chameleon. Meeting new people can be hard.

00:20:08

Speaker 1: The comeleon looked around the sea of pop plants and nodded.

00:20:14

Speaker 1: This garden is proof of that, he said. The detecting

00:20:20

Speaker 1: diner cats asked him what he meant. The comeleon explained

00:20:25

Speaker 1: that he had just moved into the cabin not far

00:20:29

Speaker 1: from Sandy's shack. He pointed to a collection of trees

00:20:33

Speaker 1: and shrubs along the ridge in the distance. His house

00:20:37

Speaker 1: was nettled in a nook there as Sandy's new neighbor.

00:20:42

Speaker 1: Every day since he had moved in, he had come

00:20:45

Speaker 1: to introduce himself with a gift balanced on his back,

00:20:50

Speaker 1: a potted plant. But every time he got near he

00:20:55

Speaker 1: found himself changing color and blending into the surroundings. He

00:21:01

Speaker 1: was so shy he would turn invisible. He would put

00:21:06

Speaker 1: down the plant and come back the next day. Soon

00:21:11

Speaker 1: the plants began turning into a garden. He said he

00:21:16

Speaker 1: thought Sandy deserved a nice garden anyway. He'd heard what

00:21:20

Speaker 1: a kind skunk she was and was sure she was

00:21:24

Speaker 1: going to be the best neighbor in the hole of

00:21:27

Speaker 1: the middle of nowhere. By this time, Detective Hash Brown

00:21:33

Speaker 1: and Sandy had wandered over to the cats, wondering what

00:21:36

Speaker 1: they had discovered. As they rounded the bushy palm tree

00:21:41

Speaker 1: that was obscuring their view, the chameleon disappeared with a flash.

00:21:48

Speaker 1: Potato and Beans each put out a paw to pat

00:21:51

Speaker 1: the chameleon on the shoulder. Come on out, they said,

00:21:57

Speaker 1: there's nothing to be afraid of. The comeleon slowly came

00:22:04

Speaker 1: into view once more, starting with his shiny eyes, then

00:22:09

Speaker 1: his long curly tail, then his feet and his body,

00:22:16

Speaker 1: and last of all, his charming, bashful smile. He wished

00:22:23

Speaker 1: Sandy hello and meekly introduced himself as herb. With the

00:22:28

Speaker 1: cat's encouragement, he explained the situation to Sandy. She soon

00:22:35

Speaker 1: wrapped him in a friendly hug, thanking him for her

00:22:38

Speaker 1: beautiful garden. Herb's skin turned bright pink. Sandy invited him

00:22:47

Speaker 1: in for a glass of sweet tea, and he nodded enthusiastically.

00:22:52

Speaker 1: Sandy said she could tell already that the two were

00:22:55

Speaker 1: destined to be good friends. As the two new friends

00:23:01

Speaker 1: went into Sandy Shack, Detective hash Brown turned to Potato

00:23:06

Speaker 1: and Beans. There's another case solved. He said, you two

00:23:13

Speaker 1: cats should consider joining the squad. You guys have talent.

00:23:20

Speaker 1: Potato and Beans thanked him for the compliment, but said

00:23:24

Speaker 1: no thank you to his kind offer. They had a

00:23:27

Speaker 1: diner to run, and there was no job in the

00:23:31

Speaker 1: world they would rather be doing. The two cats and

00:23:35

Speaker 1: the detectives slid into the car, and hash Brown began

00:23:39

Speaker 1: the descent towards the diner. The sun was beginning to

00:23:43

Speaker 1: descend too gently, floating towards the horizon. Dusky trails of

00:23:50

Speaker 1: pink surrounded it, and the sky took on an orange shoe,

00:23:55

Speaker 1: which perfectly complimented the vivid, dusty plains that reached as

00:24:00

Speaker 1: far as the eye can see. From up top on

00:24:04

Speaker 1: the ridge, the sky looked endless. Potato rested her head

00:24:11

Speaker 1: on Beans's shoulder, and Beans closed her eyes and enjoyed

00:24:16

Speaker 1: the warm breeze tickling her whiskers and blowing through her

00:24:22

Speaker 1: fur as the car zigged and zagged down the mountainside.

00:24:29

Speaker 1: The two cats drifted off into their cat naps. Satisfied

00:24:35

Speaker 1: with the day's work well done, they stirred. Not long later,

00:24:42

Speaker 1: when Detective hash Brown pulled into the parking lot of

00:24:45

Speaker 1: the diner. They stretched and yawned and stretched again before

00:24:53

Speaker 1: getting out of the car and thanking Detective Brown for

00:24:57

Speaker 1: such a wonderful afternoon. I always wanted to try being

00:25:04

Speaker 1: a detective, Potato said, and now I have solved a

00:25:10

Speaker 1: case for my friend Sandy too, and my new friend Herb. Well,

00:25:19

Speaker 1: it has been wonderful to see you cats in action.

00:25:23

Speaker 1: Hash Brown replied, you too, are magic. He wished them

00:25:29

Speaker 1: a good evening and zoomed off on a long road

00:25:33

Speaker 1: towards town. When Potato and Beans entered the diner, Missus

00:25:40

Speaker 1: Pig and Ozzy were sitting in a booth with a

00:25:43

Speaker 1: giant squid, mister Hogg, Barbara the Sheep, and a couple

00:25:48

Speaker 1: of giggling wilderbeast. There was a stack of books on

00:25:52

Speaker 1: the table. Missus Pig welcomed the cats home and told

00:25:59

Speaker 1: them that the group were busy picking a novel for

00:26:02

Speaker 1: their new book club. She said she and Ozzie would

00:26:06

Speaker 1: take care of the diner and the two cats should

00:26:10

Speaker 1: head up for an early night. It had been a

00:26:12

Speaker 1: busy day for them, after all. The two cats thanked

00:26:18

Speaker 1: her and wished everybody a good night before heading to

00:26:23

Speaker 1: their cozy home above the diner. First, Beans brushed her teeth,

00:26:30

Speaker 1: then Potato brushed hers. Next, Beans took her bubble bath,

00:26:36

Speaker 1: and then Potato took hers. The two stood under their

00:26:41

Speaker 1: warm hair dryers together and then took turns brushing one

00:26:46

Speaker 1: another's fur. Finally, Beans put on her purple spotted pajamas

00:26:53

Speaker 1: and Potato put on her yellow onesie. They settled into

00:26:59

Speaker 1: their blankets, wrapped their tails around themselves, and gazed out

00:27:05

Speaker 1: of the window at the emerging stars. Good night, Potato

00:27:12

Speaker 1: said to one brightly glistening star. Then she thought they'd

00:27:18

Speaker 1: better say good night to every star, so Beans joined in.

00:27:23

Speaker 1: They wished good night to as many stars as they

00:27:27

Speaker 1: could spot. Once the last star had been wished sweet dreams,

00:27:34

Speaker 1: the two roller skating detecting diner cats drifted off to

00:27:41

Speaker 1: a deep, dream filled sleep.
