In a tall thin house sandwich between two other long thin houses, there lived a cat named Pumpkin and a girl named Flow, and a dad too, who everyone just called Dad. Pumpkin was a big, round, fluffy orange cat who loved nothing better than putting on her fuzzy pajamas and having a snooze. Her owner, Flow, was always rudely waking her up to play, but Pumpkin didn't really mind. Pumpkin did whatever she could to make Flow smile, even when she had to try on floes heart shaped sunglasses. One day, Flow came home with a skip in her step. Pumpkin didn't hear her come in. She was snoozing amongst the onions in the bottom kitchen cupboard. Flow cooed and clicked and made ASP's noise to coax Pumpkin. From her hiding place. Waking from her cat nap, Pumpkins stretched her arms, wiggled her tail, then click clacked into the lamp where Floe was peeking under the sofas looking for her. Ah, there you are, said Flow, as Pumpkin wrapped her our round Flow's ankles. Pumpkin was purring non stop, as she always did when her favorite human came home. It was her favorite part of the day after all. Flow scooped the happy cat up into her arms, which wasn't easy as Pumpkin was really rather large, and plopped down on the sofa, placing her on her knees. We're in for a treat, Flow told Pumpkin. My best friend Maisie has invited us for a sleepover. Pumpkin's jaw hung open, her purring ceased. She slowly blinked her big green eyes at Flow, before flicking her tail in annoyance and looking over her shoulder in a huff. Flow quick realized what was the matter and held Pumpkin up to her chin, tickling her ears. My best friend apart from you, Pumpkin. Pumpkin's purring resumed. The sleepover is tonight, Flo said, so we have to pack flow, pop the cat down on the floor, and raced into her bedroom. Pumpkin, still sleepy from her afternoon nap, toddled gently through at her slow pace, stretching each long furry limb as she went.
