[00:02:24] Anyway, here's a preview of this very special episode.
[00:02:35] Winnie the Warthog of Heavenly Hats, hat shop in the Heart of Sleepy Forest,
[00:02:40] generally gets excited about pretty much everything.
[00:02:45] Since she's usually wearing some sort of elaborate headpiece,
[00:02:49] perhaps a hat that looks exactly like a cupcake or a bluebird or even a small train,
[00:02:56] whenever she's excited, the thing on her head wobbles around as if it's come to life.
[00:03:03] One of the times of year that excites her more than any other is Christmas.
[00:03:08] And one of the things that excites her above all else is the possibility of making Christmas hats.
[00:03:15] For months, she's been driving Patrick the Peacock round the bend and up the wall
[00:03:21] by making teeny tiny snowmen to wear on her head and miniature Christmas trees,
[00:03:27] complete with decorations, of course,
[00:03:30] and beautifully wrapped presents with ribbons that sparkle and wave
[00:03:35] as she bounces up and down with excitement.
[00:03:39] Patrick loves Christmas too, of course,
[00:03:43] but he isn't quite so mad for it as Winnie.
[00:03:46] Well, nobody is.
[00:03:50] And since Winnie now has heavenly hats to share her love of all things hat and all things Christmas,
[00:03:57] she has reached a new level of excitement about the window display.
[00:04:05] Every evening, she comes up with new ideas that she shares with Patrick,
[00:04:11] drawing diagrams and waving her little arms around to show exactly what she means.
[00:04:17] And Patrick just smiles and nods,
[00:04:21] safe in the knowledge that come the following morning,
[00:04:25] she'll have a whole new idea in place.
[00:04:29] Eventually, Winnie had come up with so many ideas,
[00:04:33] she had no idea where to start
[00:04:36] and sat staring into the fireplace from the snug comfort of her armchair,
[00:04:42] leaving it to Patrick to bring her ideas to life.
[00:04:46] When they were finished,
[00:04:48] the animals of Sleepy Forest were treated
[00:04:51] to an absolutely beautiful display in the shop window
[00:04:55] that had them quite forgetting
[00:04:57] they were supposed to be doing anything else at all.
[00:05:01] A little steam train chugged around a root
[00:05:04] and all the carriages wore different kinds of hats.
[00:05:09] So bowler hats and top hats
[00:05:12] and wedding hats and woolly hats
[00:05:15] rocked gently behind the bright red engine
[00:05:18] as it made its way round the track.
[00:05:22] Hat boxes were piled high to create homes and shops
[00:05:26] and tower blocks in the imaginary city Patrick had created in the window.
[00:05:32] The best part?
[00:05:34] The thing that made animals stop and stare?
[00:05:39] Through all this chaos,
[00:05:41] a flamingo solemnly strutted back and forth.
[00:05:46] He was a friend of Patrick's from way back when
[00:05:49] and more often than not could be found working as a server
[00:05:54] on the Salty Wallop Express train.
[00:05:56] But he'd decided to take a break over the Christmas period.
[00:06:01] Trains got so terribly busy at that time of year
[00:06:04] and had written to Patrick asking for suggestions,
[00:06:09] which is a very quick explanation for the very random presence
[00:06:13] of a flamingo striding across the tracks,
[00:06:17] carefully picking up and placing his feet
[00:06:21] so as not to knock over the hat carriages of the train
[00:06:25] or the hat boxes that made up the town.
[00:06:29] And while he walked and strode and strutted,
[00:06:34] the flamingo constantly changed hats,
[00:06:38] reaching up to hooks that hung down from the very top of the window
[00:06:43] and held hats at the end of invisible threads
[00:06:47] so they seemed to float in the sky.
