It was a peaceful night in sleepy forest. The sky was dark and the moon was bright, and not a sound could be heard on the forest floor. The creatures of the forest had all retreated to their homes to prepare for a night of blissful rest and deep in the ground in their own family death. But Arlo and Lewis and the Mother Fox. Arlo and Louie had enjoyed a day of running and playing in the forest whilst their mother looked on. They had played with apossum and frolicked with the fish, enjoyed a game of tic tac toe with their friend Dinky the giraffe, and raced the unicorns. But despite a day full of fun and games, Arlo and Louis still had bundles of energy. Mother Fox was trying her best to calm her youngsters down for bed, but the little balls of fluff were still wide awake. She made them both mugs of hot cocoa and got them to sit down by the fire while she stroked their furry gingerbacks. Arlo and Louis loved when their mother did this for them. It was so relaxing, and usually it worked a charm in getting them to wind down and become sleepy. However, tonight, Arlow and Louis just couldn't shut off their whirring brains. The little foxes closed their eyes and took a sip of their delicious hot chocoln. Their mother's fingers brushed the hair on their backs and felt soft and reassuring. They both collectively sighed with contentment and tried their hardest to feel sleepy. All of a sudden, the little fox's ears pricked as they picked up an unusual sound. It sounded like a low, breathy voice calling whoo, whoo who. Arlo and Louis's eyes opened and they looked around their cozy den. They couldn't see anything that could be making the noise. It was very peculiar. They closed their eyes once again and attempted to resettle themselves, but just as their eyes shut, they heard the sound again. Who who who? Arlow turned to look at their mother and asked, Bummy, what is that sound. Mother Fox giggled and replied, why, It's an owl. Of course. Louise's eyes grew wide with awe, and he said, I've never heard an owl with a noise like that before. They are usually so quiet. Mother Fox smiled and realized that her young sons weren't going to settle down for bed anytime soon, so she suggested that they venture outside their den to track down the owl that was making the noise. Arlo and Louis loved this idea and promptly hopped to their feet and bounded towards the entrance to their den.
