It was a bright sunny afternoon a nine year old Tarlia was busy doodling away in her sketch pad on the floor of her bedroom. Tarlia loved to draw. In fact, she loved all forms of art. She loved experimenting with different colors and shapes, and she enjoyed sketching objects in front of her in images from her imagination. She adored getting messy with paints, crayons, and chalk, But this afternoon she was happy simply drawing in her sketch pad with colored pencils. Tarlia's fluffy white cat, Bella, sat in front of her, posing for Tarlia to draw her picture. Bella's sparkling black eyes gazed out of the window, reflecting the sun's glistening glow. Tarlia stuck her tongue out of the corner of her mouth as she concentrated on her picture. She had sketched out the outline of Bella's body, and now she could color in the image. Despite Bella having pure white fur, Tarlia was going to mix things up and make her picture multicolor. Tarlia reached for the pink pencil, and Bella the cat swiftly turned her head and asked, what are you doing. Don't you be coloring my fur in pink. Tarlia sighed and replied, but if I don't color it in, then the picture will be plain. Bella the cat retorted, but my fur is white, not pink. If you want to draw me, then you have to make it realistic. Tarlia rolled her eyes at her sassy cat. She didn't see why Bella was so bothered about her drawing being realistic. When she was a talking cat, Bella wasn't exactly normal. Ever. Since Tylia had found six fallen stars on the ground outside her house, her lot had changed. In order to return each star to the sky, Tylia had to make wishes. When Tylia gave her sixth and final wish to her pet cat, Bella, to her amazement. Her silent, sweet kitty had wished herself able to talk. So now Tarlia had a talking pet cat, but nobody else knew. Tarlia and Bella had decided to keep it a secret. Tylia enjoyed having a talking pet. She had always loved Bella, but now that she'd got to know her better, she had discovered that Bella was very funny and adventurous. Now that she had the ability to talk, Bella had lots to say. Tylia and Bella were practically inseparable, and they did almost everything together. The only time when Bella wasn't with Tylia was when she went to school. However, as soon as Tylia got home, Bella helped her with her homework. Tarlia loved having a talking cat. Nobody had discovered Bella the cat's secret, yet. There had been a few close calls when Tylia's family had overheard Tarlia talking to Bella, but they always shrugged it off and assumed that they were imagining things. After all, cats can't talk.
