Speaker 1: Hey, and welcome back to Cocoa's Sleep, a podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:21
Speaker 1: a dream. Do you remember the brilliant story about the
00:00:27
Speaker 1: dancing dragon called Disco? Well, Cocoa and I he says
00:00:32
Speaker 1: HI have a real treat in store for you tonight,
00:00:36
Speaker 1: which features yet another lovable, cute and funny character. She's
00:00:41
Speaker 1: a giraffe called Giggles and can you guess what she
00:00:46
Speaker 1: likes to do most eat ice cream? No, she just
00:00:51
Speaker 1: loves to laugh, and even more, she loves to share
00:00:55
Speaker 1: her smiles with others who are possibly not feeling as cheerful.
00:01:01
Speaker 1: Talking and feeling cheerful, Sleep HQ is continuing to be
00:01:06
Speaker 1: overwhelmed with your generous, kind, thoughtful, and funny reviews. We
00:01:11

00:01:15
Speaker 1: to read your story suggestions and hear how much you
00:01:18
Speaker 1: recommend our podcast to your friends. Thank you. Now, then
00:01:25
Speaker 1: it's time to settle down for tonight's story. Try a yawn,
00:01:32
Speaker 1: breathe in and with a big sigh, breathe out. Wriggle
00:01:39
Speaker 1: your fingers and toes and close your eyes and try
00:01:44
Speaker 1: another little yawn. Take some lovely deep breaths in and out,
00:01:52
Speaker 1: and then snuggle down a little bit more. Let's join
00:01:58
Speaker 1: giggles now as we begin. The Giraffe who Loved to
00:02:02
Speaker 1: Laugh by Gillian Rogerson. On a bright sunny morning in
00:02:14
Speaker 1: a forest far away, her baby giraffe was born. Her
00:02:20
Speaker 1: parents had a list of possible names for their daughter,
00:02:24
Speaker 1: and as they gazed upon her that sunny morning, they
00:02:28
Speaker 1: tried the names out to see if they suited her. Gabriella, Grace, Genevieve, Gemma, Gizelle, Gertrude.
00:02:45
Speaker 1: The little giraffe giggled in delight. Every time she heard
00:02:48
Speaker 1: a name. She swished her tail back and forth and
00:02:53
Speaker 1: danced from side to side. Her parents looked at each other.
00:02:59
Speaker 1: The name were beautiful, they didn't seem quite right. The
00:03:04
Speaker 1: little giraffe looked around her in delight and chuckled. She
00:03:09
Speaker 1: seemed delighted with everything she saw. A butterfly landed on
00:03:15
Speaker 1: her nose. The baby laughed in pure joy. Her laugh
00:03:21
Speaker 1: was so sweet and happy that it made her parents
00:03:25
Speaker 1: laugh too, and hearing her parents laugh made the baby
00:03:31
Speaker 1: giraffe chuckle, chortal, and giggle. She giggled so much that
00:03:38
Speaker 1: she fell over onto the soft grass she waved her
00:03:43
Speaker 1: little legs happily in the air, and that made her
00:03:46
Speaker 1: laugh even more. Her parents smiled at each other. They
00:03:52
Speaker 1: had the perfect name for their daughter, one that would
00:03:56
Speaker 1: suit her happy personality perfectly. They called her Giggles. And
00:04:04
Speaker 1: when Giggles the baby giraffe heard her name, she said
00:04:09
Speaker 1: it over and over again, and the smile on her
00:04:13
Speaker 1: face grew bigger and bigger. She loved her name, and
00:04:18
Speaker 1: every time she said it she felt all warm and
00:04:23
Speaker 1: happy inside. Giggles was a happy giraffe and she made
00:04:29
Speaker 1: many friends. Her friends loved her joyful ways and how
00:04:34
Speaker 1: she always found something to make them laugh. Giggles was
00:04:41
Speaker 1: very good at telling jokes, doing funny dances, and pulling
00:04:46
Speaker 1: silly faces. She found joy in everything, and when she
00:04:51
Speaker 1: went to bed at nighttime, she fell asleep with a
00:04:55
Speaker 1: big smile on her face. One day, Giggles was playing
00:05:00
Speaker 1: in the forest with her friends and making them laugh
00:05:04
Speaker 1: and chuckle. Her friend, Buttons the badger, laughed so much
00:05:09
Speaker 1: that he made himself cry with joy. He wiped his
00:05:13
Speaker 1: happy tears away and told Giggles she could make anyone
00:05:18
Speaker 1: in the forest laugh, not everyone Scamper. The squirrel said,
00:05:26
Speaker 1: I don't think you could make Grumpy Gorilla laugh. The
00:05:32
Speaker 1: other animals nodded in agreement. No one had ever heard
00:05:37
Speaker 1: Grumpy Gorilla laugh. They hadn't even seen him smile. Giggles
00:05:44
Speaker 1: was confused. He's never laughed or smiled. I don't understand.
00:05:52
Speaker 1: How is that possible? Her friends shrugged in reply. Buttons
00:06:00
Speaker 1: said Giggles should visit Grumpy Gorilla and see if she
00:06:04
Speaker 1: could make him laugh. Giggles wasn't sure about that and
00:06:09
Speaker 1: said she didn't want to get in Grumpy's way. If
00:06:13
Speaker 1: he didn't want to laugh, then that was up to him.
00:06:18
Speaker 1: She carried on playing in the forest with her friends.
00:06:22
Speaker 1: They had lots of fun, and they laughed so much
00:06:25
Speaker 1: that they had to hold onto their tommies. After a while,
00:06:30
Speaker 1: it was time to say goodbye. Giggles walked through the
00:06:35
Speaker 1: forest and smiled as she thought about her friends. She
00:06:40
Speaker 1: chuckled as she remembered the funny things they had done.
00:06:45
Speaker 1: Her chuckle turned into a laugh, and her laugh turned
00:06:49
Speaker 1: into a gurgling giggle. What is that peculiar noise? A
00:06:58
Speaker 1: deep voice from behind her said. Giggles turned around and
00:07:04
Speaker 1: saw Grumpy Gorilla on the forest path. He was wearing
00:07:09
Speaker 1: a T shirt and shorts and carrying a shopping bag.
00:07:14
Speaker 1: He did indeed look very grumpy. Giggles said hello and
00:07:21
Speaker 1: explained she was laughing because she was remembering the fun
00:07:26
Speaker 1: games she'd played with her friends. She told him about
00:07:31
Speaker 1: the games and thought the gorilla might start laughing too,
00:07:36
Speaker 1: but he didn't. He let out a grumpy grunt and
00:07:41
Speaker 1: said playing games was a complete waste of time, and
00:07:46
Speaker 1: so was laughing, and what did he have to laugh about? Anyway?
00:07:52
Speaker 1: He said the trees had too many leaves on them,
00:07:56
Speaker 1: the sky was too blue, clouds were too fluffy, birds
00:08:04
Speaker 1: sang far too much. He lifted his shopping bag and said, an,
00:08:12
Speaker 1: my new boots are too small. They arrived this morning,
00:08:18
Speaker 1: and I wanted to wear them today, but now I
00:08:22
Speaker 1: can't and I have to send them back. Giggles blinked
00:08:28
Speaker 1: in surprise. She had never heard so many complaints, and
00:08:33
Speaker 1: for a moment she didn't know what to say. Then
00:08:39
Speaker 1: she had an idea. She asked the gorilla where he
00:08:44
Speaker 1: was wearing his boots. He frowned and said on his feet,
00:08:49
Speaker 1: of course. With a happy twinkle in her eyes, Giggles said,
00:08:56
Speaker 1: have you tried wearing them on your hands? Grumpy gorilla
00:09:02
Speaker 1: stared at her in confusion and didn't say anything. May I.
00:09:10
Speaker 1: Giggles nodded at his shopping bag. The gorilla gave her
00:09:15
Speaker 1: a suspicious look and handed the bag over. Giggles pulled
00:09:22
Speaker 1: the boots out. She didn't have hands, so she put
00:09:26
Speaker 1: them on her front hoofs. See, she said, happily, they
00:09:33
Speaker 1: fit me perfectly. Why don't you try them on your
00:09:38
Speaker 1: hands and see if they fit you too. The gorilla
00:09:43
Speaker 1: folded his arms and said grumpily that boots don't go
00:09:48
Speaker 1: on hands. Oh, Giggles said, with a small chuckle, should
00:09:56
Speaker 1: they go somewhere else? Then she put them on her
00:10:00
Speaker 1: ears and grinned. She said the boots were great at
00:10:05
Speaker 1: keeping her ears warm. The gorilla's mouth twitched as though
00:10:11
Speaker 1: he was trying not to smile. Giggles took the boots
00:10:16
Speaker 1: off her ears. Then she put one on her head
00:10:20
Speaker 1: and the other on her tail. She did a funny
00:10:23
Speaker 1: dance and swished her tail so cheerfully that the boot
00:10:28
Speaker 1: flew off and headed towards the gorilla. Grumpy Gorilla caught
00:10:34
Speaker 1: the boot, looked at it, and smiled ever so slightly. Then,
00:10:41
Speaker 1: to Giggles's surprise, he put the boot on his hand
00:10:45
Speaker 1: and said it was a perfect fit. A peculiar rumbling
00:10:52
Speaker 1: sound came from somewhere. It sounded a bit like thunder
00:10:57
Speaker 1: at first, but as it got loud, Giggles realized it
00:11:02
Speaker 1: was laughter, and it was coming from the gorilla. The
00:11:07
Speaker 1: gorilla waved his boot covered hand at Giggles and laughed loudly.
00:11:14
Speaker 1: It was such a happy sound that it made Giggles
00:11:18
Speaker 1: laugh so much that the boot fell off her head.
00:11:23
Speaker 1: The gorilla immediately picked it up and put the boot
00:11:27
Speaker 1: on his other hand. He danced along the path waving
00:11:32
Speaker 1: his boots in the air. He had a huge smile
00:11:37
Speaker 1: on his face and all his grumpiness had disappeared. He
00:11:43
Speaker 1: said it was an excellent way to wear his new boots,
00:11:47
Speaker 1: and perhaps he was wearing his clothes the wrong way too.
00:11:53
Speaker 1: The gorilla stopped waving his hands about and told Giggles
00:11:59
Speaker 1: he had an amazing idea. He took the boots off
00:12:04
Speaker 1: and placed them on the ground. Then he turned his
00:12:08
Speaker 1: t shirt inside out and wore his shorts back to front.
00:12:14
Speaker 1: He put the empty shopping bag on his head like
00:12:17
Speaker 1: a hat, and placed the boots back on his hands.
00:12:22
Speaker 1: He grinned at the giraffe and danced up and down
00:12:26
Speaker 1: the path, shaking his hands and wiggling his bottom. Giggles
00:12:33
Speaker 1: joined in with the dancing and laughed so much that
00:12:37
Speaker 1: she got hiccups. The gorilla's loud laugh was a heartwarming sound,
00:12:44
Speaker 1: and it made Giggles feel all warm and happy inside.
00:12:50
Speaker 1: The gorilla and the giraffe danced for a while longer,
00:12:55
Speaker 1: and then the gorilla said he had to be getting home,
00:13:00
Speaker 1: thanked Giggles for making him laugh, and said she had
00:13:04
Speaker 1: brightened up his day. Giggles said he had brightened up
00:13:09
Speaker 1: her day too. The gorilla said, I wonder if you
00:13:16
Speaker 1: could make one of my neighbors laugh. Fussy Frog lives
00:13:22
Speaker 1: in a pond through those trees there, and it's been
00:13:26
Speaker 1: a long time since I heard her laugh. Do you
00:13:30
Speaker 1: think you could make her smile too. Giggles said she
00:13:36
Speaker 1: didn't want to get in fussy Frog's way. The gorilla
00:13:40
Speaker 1: said she wouldn't because the frog loved company. He said
00:13:45
Speaker 1: goodbye to Giggles and went on his way, laughing loudly
00:13:50
Speaker 1: to himself as he waved his boot covered hands in
00:13:54
Speaker 1: the air. Giggles headed towards the pond and saw Fussy
00:14:01
Speaker 1: Frog standing at the side of the water. She was
00:14:05
Speaker 1: staring at the lily pads on the pond. She had
00:14:09
Speaker 1: her hands on her hips and was shaking her head.
00:14:15
Speaker 1: The frog looked over at Giggles and said, could you
00:14:20
Speaker 1: help me with something? Of course, Giggles said. She moved
00:14:27
Speaker 1: over to Fussy Frog and looked at the lily pads too.
00:14:31
Speaker 1: Fussy Frog pointed to the floating lily pads and said,
00:14:37
Speaker 1: I can't get those plants in the right place. I've
00:14:42
Speaker 1: moved them all to the left, I've moved them all
00:14:46
Speaker 1: to the right, and I've put them in the center,
00:14:49
Speaker 1: but they just do not look right to me. What
00:14:53
Speaker 1: do you think, Giggles said, they looked perfect just where
00:14:59
Speaker 1: they were. Fussy Frog shook her head and said they
00:15:06
Speaker 1: don't look right to me at all, but I don't
00:15:09
Speaker 1: know why. Giggles smiled. She had an idea and asked
00:15:16
Speaker 1: the frog if she could move the lily pads. The
00:15:20
Speaker 1: frog said yes. The giraffe stepped into the water. It
00:15:27
Speaker 1: was a shallow pond and the water only went up
00:15:30
Speaker 1: to her knees. Giggles moved the lily pads around until
00:15:36
Speaker 1: they were in different places. She climbed out of the water,
00:15:43
Speaker 1: smiled at the frog and said, what do you think.
00:15:49
Speaker 1: Fussy Frog frowned and tipped her head to one side
00:15:53
Speaker 1: as she looked closer at the plants. Giggles said, brightly,
00:15:59
Speaker 1: I've made a smiling face. She chuckled. Fussy Frog looked confused,
00:16:08
Speaker 1: A smiley face, yes, like this. Giggles smiled as wildly
00:16:15
Speaker 1: as she could. Fussy Frog looked at the smiling giraffe
00:16:21
Speaker 1: but didn't say anything. Giggles said she could make a
00:16:27
Speaker 1: different face in the water with the lily pads, and
00:16:30
Speaker 1: maybe a surprised face would be better. Giggles made herself
00:16:36
Speaker 1: look as surprised as possible. She opened her eyes wide
00:16:42
Speaker 1: and made her mouth into an O shape. Fussy Frog
00:16:47
Speaker 1: let out a teeny weeny giggle and put her hand
00:16:52
Speaker 1: over her mouth. Or how about this one? The giraffe
00:16:58
Speaker 1: stuck her tongue out and winked at fussy Frog. The
00:17:03
Speaker 1: frog giggled again. Giggles poured lots of funny faces, and
00:17:09
Speaker 1: the little frog began to laugh more and more. She
00:17:14
Speaker 1: had a cute, bubbly laugh, and it made the giraffe chuckle.
00:17:20
Speaker 1: The little frog began to pull a funny face. She
00:17:24
Speaker 1: filled her cheeks with air and puffed them out. Giggles
00:17:29
Speaker 1: told her she looked like a lovely balloon. The giraffe
00:17:35
Speaker 1: filled her cheeks with air too, and pretended to be
00:17:38
Speaker 1: a balloon by bobbing around the pond. The frog copied her,
00:17:44
Speaker 1: and soon the pair were dancing around the water with
00:17:49
Speaker 1: their cheeks puffed up with air. They had a marvelous
00:17:53
Speaker 1: time and kept stopping to laugh and giggle. The frog
00:18:00
Speaker 1: grubbed her cheeks and said she hadn't laughed like that
00:18:04
Speaker 1: in a long time. She looked at the lily pads
00:18:08
Speaker 1: on the water and said she loved the smiley face
00:18:13
Speaker 1: that Giggles had made and was going to leave the
00:18:16
Speaker 1: lily pads like that. The frog held up a finger
00:18:21
Speaker 1: and said, I've got an idea. I'm going to make
00:18:27
Speaker 1: as many smiley faces as I can. Would you like
00:18:31
Speaker 1: to help me? Giggles said she would love to. The
00:18:38
Speaker 1: giraffe and the frog had a fabulously fun time making
00:18:43
Speaker 1: smiley faces out of grass, berries, flowers, fallen leaves, and twigs.
00:18:53
Speaker 1: Every time they made one, the sight of the happy
00:18:56
Speaker 1: face made them chuckle. Soon the happy pair was surrounded
00:19:02
Speaker 1: by dozens of smiley faces. The frog sighed happily and
00:19:09
Speaker 1: said she felt all warm and fuzzy inside. Giggles said
00:19:15
Speaker 1: she did too. The frog yawned and said all that
00:19:22
Speaker 1: laughing and smiling had made her tired, and she was
00:19:26
Speaker 1: going to have a nap. She thanked Giggles for making
00:19:31
Speaker 1: her so happy and asked if she could visit Cross
00:19:36
Speaker 1: chipmunk and help him to laugh again too. The little
00:19:41
Speaker 1: frog settled herself on the soft grass at the side
00:19:46
Speaker 1: of the pond and sighed happily. Giggles asked, why is
00:19:54
Speaker 1: the chipmunk cross? The frog didn't answer because she had
00:20:01
Speaker 1: fallen asleep with a big smile on her little green face.
00:20:10
Speaker 1: Giggles wasn't sure where Cross chipmunk lived, so she carried
00:20:16
Speaker 1: on walking through the forest. She soon heard some one
00:20:20
Speaker 1: grumbling to themselves and wondered if it was the chipmunk.
00:20:26
Speaker 1: She followed the sound and found a chipmunk glaring at
00:20:30
Speaker 1: a pile of seeds and muttering to himself. Giggles gave
00:20:37
Speaker 1: him a cheery hello, and before she could say another word,
00:20:41
Speaker 1: the chipmunk pointed at the seeds and said, do you
00:20:46
Speaker 1: think this pile is big enough? It isn't, is it? I?
00:20:50
Speaker 1: Need a bigger pile, and then I have to collect
00:20:54
Speaker 1: lots of nuts and make them into a pile too,
00:20:58
Speaker 1: And that won't be a big a nun file either,
00:21:02
Speaker 1: I just know it won't. He gave the pile of
00:21:06
Speaker 1: seeds a cross look and tutted at them, as if
00:21:11
Speaker 1: his problems were all their fault. Giggles said, I can
00:21:18
Speaker 1: help you look for more seeds and nuts too, she smiled.
00:21:25
Speaker 1: Perhaps we can make a game out of it. A game,
00:21:31
Speaker 1: The chipmunk said, somewhat crossly. I don't have time for games.
00:21:37
Speaker 1: I've work to do. Anyway, I don't know any games.
00:21:43
Speaker 1: Giggles was surprised and said he must know some games.
00:21:48
Speaker 1: What about Hide and Seek? Everyone knew how to play that.
00:21:54
Speaker 1: The chipmunk said, yes, he didn't know how to play
00:21:58
Speaker 1: hide and seek, and it was a fun game, but
00:22:02
Speaker 1: he didn't have time for fun. He looked back at
00:22:06
Speaker 1: the pile of seeds and shook his head at them.
00:22:11
Speaker 1: Giggles asked if they could have one quick game and
00:22:15
Speaker 1: said she would hide first. With a twinkle in her eyes,
00:22:21
Speaker 1: she said, I'm going to find a really good hiding
00:22:27
Speaker 1: place and you will never ever find me. The chipmunk
00:22:34
Speaker 1: looked away from the seeds and gave the giraffe a
00:22:38
Speaker 1: curious look, but he didn't say anything. Giggles chuckled and said,
00:22:48
Speaker 1: I've thought of the perfect place. Close your eyes and
00:22:53
Speaker 1: count to ten. With another chuckle, the giraffe ran way
00:23:00
Speaker 1: towards some trees. The chipmunk wondered where she was going.
00:23:07
Speaker 1: The corners of his mouth turned up in a tiny smile.
00:23:12
Speaker 1: He closed his eyes and began to count to ten.
00:23:17
Speaker 1: When he got to ten, he opened his eyes and
00:23:20
Speaker 1: looked around him. Where was the giraffe. He moved towards
00:23:27
Speaker 1: the trees. There was something peculiar about one of them.
00:23:35
Speaker 1: It had more than one trunk. In fact, it had
00:23:41
Speaker 1: four extra trunks, and they were orange and brown in color,
00:23:47
Speaker 1: and they were jigging about a bit. A quiet giggle
00:23:53
Speaker 1: came from somewhere in the leaves of the tree. The
00:23:57
Speaker 1: chipmunk soon realized that the giraffe was hiding next to
00:24:03
Speaker 1: the tree with her head in the leaves. The chipmunk
00:24:08
Speaker 1: put his hand over his mouth to stop himself from
00:24:13
Speaker 1: laughing out loud. Her legs looked so funny standing next
00:24:19
Speaker 1: to the tree trunk and the chuckling noise coming from
00:24:23
Speaker 1: the leaves made it look like the tree was giggling.
00:24:29
Speaker 1: The chipmunk's laugh refused to stay quiet, and it burst out,
00:24:36
Speaker 1: and once he started to laugh, the little animal couldn't stop.
00:24:41
Speaker 1: Giggles popped her head out of the leaves, grinned down
00:24:46
Speaker 1: at the chipmunk and said, you found me. Do you
00:24:51
Speaker 1: want to hide? Next? Okay, the chipmunk said. He asked
00:24:59
Speaker 1: Giggles to close her eyes and count to ten. Giggles
00:25:04
Speaker 1: stayed right where she was, closed her eyes and counted
00:25:12
Speaker 1: when she opened them. The chipmunk was standing in the
00:25:16
Speaker 1: same place, but he had his eyes tightly closed. There
00:25:22
Speaker 1: was a cheeky smile on his face. Giggles said gently, um,
00:25:29
Speaker 1: you've forgotten to hide. Shall I count ten again? Trying
00:25:36
Speaker 1: his best not to laugh. The chipmunk said, but I
00:25:42
Speaker 1: am hiding. I've got my eyes closed and I can't
00:25:47
Speaker 1: see you, so that means you can't see me, but
00:25:53
Speaker 1: I can see you. Giggles replied, with a confused look
00:25:59
Speaker 1: on her face. A funny, wheezing noise came from the chipmunk.
00:26:06
Speaker 1: It got louder and louder, and then turned into a
00:26:13
Speaker 1: big laugh that burst out of him like a giggling
00:26:18
Speaker 1: river of happiness. He opened his eyes, grinned at the
00:26:24
Speaker 1: giraffe and said, I was playing a little trick on you,
00:26:31
Speaker 1: a trick. Giggles started to giggle. That was a funny trick,
00:26:40
Speaker 1: a really funny trick. She laughed and laughed until she
00:26:46
Speaker 1: got hiccups again. The chipmunk stopped laughing and said he
00:26:52
Speaker 1: must get back to his work because he had lots
00:26:55
Speaker 1: to do. The kind giraffe offered to help him and
00:27:01
Speaker 1: said she would sing some silly songs to help make
00:27:05
Speaker 1: his work more fun. She sang a song about ants
00:27:11
Speaker 1: wearing stripy pants, and a raccoon flying on a spoon,
00:27:17
Speaker 1: a moose dancing with a goose, and a chimpanzee surfing
00:27:23
Speaker 1: in the sea. Once the chipmunk knew the words, he
00:27:29
Speaker 1: sang along, but kept stopping to laugh. The happy pair
00:27:34
Speaker 1: found nuts and seeds in many places, and it wasn't
00:27:39
Speaker 1: long before the chipmunk said he had more than enough.
00:27:44
Speaker 1: With a big, satisfied smile on his little fairy face,
00:27:50
Speaker 1: the chipmunk let out the most enormous yawn. He said
00:27:57
Speaker 1: laughing so much had made him very tired, and he
00:28:02
Speaker 1: would go to bed early that day. He thanked Giggles
00:28:08
Speaker 1: for making him feel so happy and said good bye.
00:28:14
Speaker 1: As he walked away. Giggles heard the chipmunk chuckling as
00:28:19
Speaker 1: he sang about the ants and their stripy pants. Giggles
00:28:26
Speaker 1: walked on through the forest. She was starting to feel
00:28:30
Speaker 1: a bit tired too. She yawned and yawned again. The
00:28:39
Speaker 1: sun headed towards the horizon and the sky turned a
00:28:44
Speaker 1: delicate shade of pink. The first star of the night
00:28:50
Speaker 1: twinkled into view and shone brightly in the darkening sky.
00:28:57
Speaker 1: Giggles continued walking, a soft smile on her face. As
00:29:04
Speaker 1: she strolled through the beautiful forest. She saw a bat
00:29:09
Speaker 1: sitting on a tree stump. His face was scrunched up
00:29:14
Speaker 1: and he didn't look at all happy. Giggles wished him
00:29:20
Speaker 1: a good evening. Bah was so good about it, the
00:29:26
Speaker 1: back grumbled. Giggles said, it's a beautiful the evening and
00:29:33
Speaker 1: the stars are coming out. I think there's a full
00:29:38
Speaker 1: moon tonight too. Don't you like the nighttime? Isn't that
00:29:43
Speaker 1: when you come out and fly? The bat nodded and
00:29:48
Speaker 1: said he did like the nighttime, but he was fed
00:29:52
Speaker 1: up with having to fly everywhere. He said it was
00:29:56
Speaker 1: boring and wished there was a more fun way to travel.
00:30:02
Speaker 1: Giggles asked the bat how he would like to travel instead.
00:30:08
Speaker 1: The bat didn't know and asked the giraffe for ideas.
00:30:13
Speaker 1: Giggles thought for a moment and asked the bat if
00:30:18
Speaker 1: he'd ever ridden on the head of a giraffe. No,
00:30:23
Speaker 1: I haven't, the bat replied, but it sounds like fun.
00:30:31
Speaker 1: Giggles smiled at him and lowered her head. The back
00:30:36
Speaker 1: climbed on and opened his wings. Giggles said, your wings
00:30:44
Speaker 1: look like a cape that a superhero might wear. Why
00:30:50
Speaker 1: don't you pretend to be a superhero. You can be brave, fearless,
00:30:57
Speaker 1: and ready for an adventure. What is your superhero name?
00:31:04
Speaker 1: The back grinned and said he did feel very brave, fearless,
00:31:10
Speaker 1: and ready for an adventure. He proudly proclaimed his superhero
00:31:17
Speaker 1: name to be Megabat. Giggle said her superhero name was
00:31:26
Speaker 1: super Giraffe. With Megabat riding on her head, Super Giraffe
00:31:34
Speaker 1: galloped through the forest. The two friends used their imaginations
00:31:41
Speaker 1: and performed good deeds and fearless acts of bravery everywhere
00:31:47
Speaker 1: they went. Megabat had a fabulous time and couldn't stop smiling.
00:31:56
Speaker 1: His smile turned into joyful laughter that echoed around the forest.
00:32:04
Speaker 1: When they'd finished being superheroes, the daring duo settled on
00:32:10
Speaker 1: the soft grass and gazed at the dark sky. Thousands
00:32:18
Speaker 1: of stars twinkled down at them. Giggles asked the bat
00:32:25
Speaker 1: if he could see shapes in the stars. The bat replied,
00:32:32
Speaker 1: I can't, can you. With a twinkle in her eyes,
00:32:38
Speaker 1: Giggles said yes, those stars over there looked like a
00:32:45
Speaker 1: way of eating a pineapple, and those next to it
00:32:52
Speaker 1: looked like a porcupine playing hopscotch. She giggled. The bat
00:33:00
Speaker 1: giggle too. He looked at the stars and said some
00:33:05
Speaker 1: of them looked like a bear flying a helicopter and
00:33:09
Speaker 1: others like a lion playing the guitar. Giggles sighed happily
00:33:17
Speaker 1: and said she loved the night time because it always
00:33:21
Speaker 1: felt so magical, and it meant bedtime was getting closer
00:33:27
Speaker 1: and she began to sleep soon, She awned. Giggles loved sleeping.
00:33:35
Speaker 1: Giggles asked the bat what it felt like to fly
00:33:40
Speaker 1: through the star filled sky. In a soft, soothing voice.
00:33:47
Speaker 1: The bat told her how wonderful it was to open
00:33:51
Speaker 1: his wings and soar through the sky, And how he
00:33:57
Speaker 1: looked down at the dark forest and heard animals snoring
00:34:02
Speaker 1: gently in their sleep. At night, everything slowed down, and
00:34:10
Speaker 1: the forest was peaceful and calm. Giggles sleepily agreed. She
00:34:19
Speaker 1: closed her eyes and fell asleep. The Bad looked at
00:34:26
Speaker 1: his new friend. He was so glad they had met.
00:34:32
Speaker 1: He looked back at the sky and felt the need
00:34:37
Speaker 1: to fly. He stood up and gave his wings a shake.
00:34:45
Speaker 1: Even though Giggles was fast asleep, she was still laughing softly.
00:34:53
Speaker 1: The Bad tucked some soft grass around her head and
00:34:59
Speaker 1: made it into a soft pillow. He looked at the
00:35:04
Speaker 1: sleeping giraffe and whispered, good night, sweet dreams. The happy
00:35:14
Speaker 1: bat flew away. The sound of giggles is happy laughter
00:35:21
Speaker 1: drifted over the forest, and every animal who heard it
00:35:28
Speaker 1: smiled softly in their sleep.
