Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Coco Sleep, the podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:20
Speaker 1: a dream. Tonight, we're going back to the Mystical Monkey
00:00:24
Speaker 1: Temple for some more meditation guidance, which I'm sure will
00:00:28
Speaker 1: set you up nicely for a deep, soothing, dream filled sleep.
00:00:33
Speaker 1: But before we begin, Coco and I have some big
00:00:37
Speaker 1: hellos and welcomes to say to our newest Coco clubbers, Hi, Eleiana, Juliano, Zieeva, Theo,
00:00:46
Speaker 1: Jack and ben Bianca and Miro. Welcome to the club.
00:00:51
Speaker 1: Is great to have you join us. So back to tonight's
00:00:56
Speaker 1: bedtime meditation, where we're going to spend some time at
00:00:59
Speaker 1: the mystic call Monkey Temple again. This time we're going
00:01:03
Speaker 1: to learn about the importance of helping others in making
00:01:06
Speaker 1: the world a better place and allowing us to live
00:01:09
Speaker 1: a happy life. Being kind is definitely a major feature
00:01:13
Speaker 1: of a fulfilling and happy life, but I'm sure you
00:01:16
Speaker 1: know that already. So first we'll have a meditation session
00:01:20
Speaker 1: with the other monkeys from the temple. Then after you
00:01:24
Speaker 1: finish your meditation, you'll learn about an idea that the
00:01:28
Speaker 1: monkeys follow called service. Service is where you take time
00:01:33
Speaker 1: to help others without expecting anything back in return. Let's
00:01:38
Speaker 1: help the monkeys tonight and learn how good it feels
00:01:41
Speaker 1: to help others. This is the mystical Monkeys helping others
00:01:48
Speaker 1: by Joel Pim Let's start this meditation by asking yourself
00:02:00
Speaker 1: a few questions. Can you feel how soft your mattresses?
00:02:07
Speaker 1: Does the blanket feel like it's giving you a big hug?
00:02:11
Speaker 1: Are you tired and ready for a lovely sleep? If
00:02:16
Speaker 1: you want, you can wriggle around a little bit to
00:02:18
Speaker 1: find the comfious position. You can wriggle as much as
00:02:22
Speaker 1: you want. Now, let's give our arms a big shake.
00:02:28
Speaker 1: Let all of your energy out. Shake, take a deep breath,
00:02:37
Speaker 1: and ciy it out and relax.
00:02:40
Speaker 2: That's right.
00:02:42
Speaker 1: Let's now move further down our arms and relax our
00:02:45
Speaker 1: hands and fingers. Clench your hands into a fist and
00:02:51
Speaker 1: tighten them as hard as you can, squeeze, and then,
00:02:56
Speaker 1: with a big sigh, relax your hands back down to
00:03:02
Speaker 1: the mattress. Relax your chest and shoulders, letting your muscles
00:03:08
Speaker 1: have a well deserved rest. As you move down your body,
00:03:13
Speaker 1: focus on your legs and let them relax. Now we're
00:03:20
Speaker 1: going to give our legs a big shake. That's right,
00:03:23
Speaker 1: let all the energy out and relax again. Slowly bring
00:03:29
Speaker 1: your legs back to your bed in a comfortable position.
00:03:34
Speaker 1: Relax into your comforty bed, and you'll feel yourself becoming
00:03:39
Speaker 1: calmer and calmer. Now's the time for you to recharge
00:03:43
Speaker 1: your batteries so you can have lots of energy and
00:03:46
Speaker 1: you can be the most energetic and happy person you
00:03:49
Speaker 1: can be tomorrow. Now, let's take some breads, and with
00:03:56
Speaker 1: every breath in, feel yourself getting lighter and lighter, and
00:04:02
Speaker 1: with every breath out, feel yourself getting more and more
00:04:07
Speaker 1: sleepy and relaxed. If you feel yourself drifting off already,
00:04:13
Speaker 1: that's just fine. Imagine yourself at the top of a
00:04:18
Speaker 1: large domed hill. In front of you, you see colorful
00:04:23
Speaker 1: flags waving in the wind over a beautiful view of
00:04:27
Speaker 1: the endless green jungle and the sparkling seas in the distance.
00:04:32
Speaker 1: It looks so pretty. You think of every plant, tree
00:04:38
Speaker 1: and flower that makes up the jungle, all coming together
00:04:43
Speaker 1: to make a magical world full of amazing creatures. A
00:04:48
Speaker 1: big smile seckles on your face. As you become calmer
00:04:53
Speaker 1: and calmer, the sun reaches from behind the clouds and
00:04:58
Speaker 1: shines brightly on your face, filling your heart with light
00:05:02
Speaker 1: and warmth. You feel so cozy and peaceful. Slowly, you
00:05:10
Speaker 1: turn around to see a large temple. It's a beautiful
00:05:14
Speaker 1: building made out of white stone, draped with beautifully colored flags.
00:05:20
Speaker 1: At the entrance, you see something burning. Instantly, the smell
00:05:25
Speaker 1: hits you. It has a sweet but woody scent. As
00:05:31
Speaker 1: the smell fills your nostrils and lungs, you feel a
00:05:35
Speaker 1: comfort to fill your body. At the sides of the temple,
00:05:41
Speaker 1: you see large green trees and gardens bordering the temple.
00:05:46
Speaker 1: They have been well looked after, with a range of
00:05:49
Speaker 1: flowers and a greenhouse used to grow vegetables. In front
00:05:54
Speaker 1: of the temple, you see a big wheel that makes
00:05:57
Speaker 1: a chiming sound every time it's in the wind. A
00:06:02
Speaker 1: feeling of fulfillment fills your body, allowing your heart to
00:06:08
Speaker 1: fill with a warm, fuzzy feeling. There is something so
00:06:13
Speaker 1: special about this place. As you turned back around to
00:06:19
Speaker 1: where you were looking before, you see an old monkey
00:06:22
Speaker 1: draped in robes sitting by the edge of the hill.
00:06:27
Speaker 1: You'd been looking at the same view before without seeing him.
00:06:31
Speaker 1: How strange he must have sneaked there while you were
00:06:35
Speaker 1: admiring the enchanting temple. You see the wise old monkey
00:06:40
Speaker 1: has his eyes easily shut with a little smile on
00:06:44
Speaker 1: his face. It looks like he has been sitting in
00:06:49
Speaker 1: this same position for years without moving a muscle. You
00:06:56
Speaker 1: are curious and start walking towards the old one monkey.
00:07:01
Speaker 1: As you approach, the monkey slowly opens up his eyes
00:07:06
Speaker 1: and offers out a hand, gesturing for you to sit
00:07:10
Speaker 1: next to him. Are you ready for your morning meditation practice,
00:07:18
Speaker 1: he says softly. You nod slowly and easily sit down
00:07:24
Speaker 1: next to him, enjoying the view of the divine kingdom
00:07:27
Speaker 1: once again. You take a deep breath in and let
00:07:32
Speaker 1: it go through your nose. In this meditation, we're going
00:07:39
Speaker 1: to focus on our breathing nice and slow. Make sure
00:07:47
Speaker 1: you're sitting comfortably, and take a deep breath in. Feel
00:07:53
Speaker 1: yourself inflate like a bloom with each breath in and out.
00:08:01
Speaker 1: As you breathe in, you feel yourself being filled up with.
00:08:05
Speaker 2: Love and light. Then, as you breathe out, you imagine
00:08:13
Speaker 2: any worries or fears drift off into the distance. You
00:08:19
Speaker 2: know it is completely normal to feel sad, worried, or scared.
00:08:26
Speaker 2: We can just watch these feelings like clouds passing across
00:08:32
Speaker 2: the sky.
00:08:34
Speaker 1: Sometimes it might feel stormy, but this is okay. All
00:08:40
Speaker 1: storms pass eventually, often leaving behind a sunny, clear sky.
00:08:48
Speaker 1: Let's watch as different feelings come into our head, stay
00:08:53
Speaker 1: around for a little while, and then drift off. We
00:08:59
Speaker 1: will now do as simple breathing exercise together. This will
00:09:04
Speaker 1: help us relax and get our bodies ready for sleep. Together,
00:09:10
Speaker 1: we will breathe in for four seconds, hold for four seconds,
00:09:17
Speaker 1: and exhale for four seconds. Just take it nice and easy,
00:09:24
Speaker 1: and maybe imagine your breath coming in and out like
00:09:29
Speaker 1: waves lapping against the beach. Here we go. Let's start
00:09:37
Speaker 1: with a deep breath in one two three four. Hold
00:09:45
Speaker 1: your breath one two three four and breathe out one
00:09:54
Speaker 1: two three four. Breathe in one two three.
00:10:04
Speaker 2: Four, hold one.
00:10:07
Speaker 1: Two three four, breathe out one two three for breathing
00:10:17
Speaker 1: one two three for hold that breath one two three
00:10:29
Speaker 1: four and let it all go one two three four.
00:10:38
Speaker 1: Breathe in one two three for hold that breath one
00:10:48
Speaker 1: two three four and let it all go one two
00:10:58
Speaker 1: three four. Now let your breath come back to a
00:11:05
Speaker 1: nice and easy pace. That's right. Allow every breath in
00:11:16
Speaker 1: to bring energy and happiness, and every breath out to
00:11:21
Speaker 1: remove sadness and unhappiness. Our breath is almost like a superpower.
00:11:30
Speaker 1: It keeps us alive and strong without us even needing
00:11:36
Speaker 1: to think about it. By coming back to our breath,
00:11:40
Speaker 1: we can slow down and allow ourselves to calm down
00:11:46
Speaker 1: when we're feeling upset or scared. With a few deep breaths,
00:11:52
Speaker 1: we can go from being angry or sad to being
00:11:55
Speaker 1: relaxed and happier. Your breath is your secret weapon for
00:12:03
Speaker 1: when you need to be brave. When you need to
00:12:06
Speaker 1: be brave, take a few deep breaths and do what
00:12:11
Speaker 1: you think is right. When you're ready, emerge back into
00:12:19
Speaker 1: the magical Monkey Kingdom. As you look over the view again,
00:12:28
Speaker 1: you start to see everything in a different way, almost
00:12:33
Speaker 1: as if before you were wearing funny glasses that didn't
00:12:36
Speaker 1: allow you to see clearly. You look again at the
00:12:41
Speaker 1: colorful flags, you can hardly believe your eyes. As the
00:12:45
Speaker 1: Magical Kingdom has become brighter and brighter, your senses expand
00:12:53
Speaker 1: as you can now experience each sight, sound, smell, and
00:12:59
Speaker 1: touch different than before. You can feel the strands of
00:13:04
Speaker 1: grass beneath you, growing and moving in the wind. You
00:13:09
Speaker 1: put your hand on the grass as you experience how
00:13:13
Speaker 1: it feels. Then you get drawn to the smell of
00:13:17
Speaker 1: dinner being made in the temple kitchen. It smells so
00:13:22
Speaker 1: good that you could almost taste the food being prepared,
00:13:27
Speaker 1: a delicious meal of sweet, salty, and sour. You then
00:13:33
Speaker 1: notice the faint sound of the other monkeys singing and
00:13:37
Speaker 1: chanting songs together. You are not able to hear the
00:13:42
Speaker 1: singing before, but now you can hear it loud and clear,
00:13:47
Speaker 1: almost like your ears have been given a magnifying glass.
00:13:51
Speaker 1: To the sound, You notice all the different things you
00:13:57
Speaker 1: are experiencing. You feel your heart beating your chest, and
00:14:02
Speaker 1: you watch how your chest rises and falls with each breath.
00:14:07
Speaker 1: Your breath is always there, like a good friend that
00:14:11
Speaker 1: you can always rely on. You look back to your
00:14:16
Speaker 1: left and see the wise old monkey smiling inwardly, still
00:14:21
Speaker 1: in a deep state of meditation. You have never seen
00:14:26
Speaker 1: anyone seems so happy even when nothing is happening. Without
00:14:33
Speaker 1: opening his eyes or moving his body, the wise monkey
00:14:37
Speaker 1: starts to speak quietly again. Now that you have finished
00:14:44
Speaker 1: your meditation, you can now learn about what else monkeys
00:14:49
Speaker 1: from the temple get up to you can go to
00:14:53
Speaker 1: the entrance and join the other monkeys for a day
00:14:58
Speaker 1: of service. Following the instructions of the old monkey, you
00:15:05
Speaker 1: walk towards the temple entrance. As you are walking, you
00:15:09
Speaker 1: feel yourself becoming drawn to the nature around you. You
00:15:14
Speaker 1: take time to look closely at all of the nature
00:15:18
Speaker 1: around you, from the tall, dark green trees that line
00:15:23
Speaker 1: the path, to leaves rustling in the breeze, to the
00:15:28
Speaker 1: sun rays that dance around the landscape. A smile naturally
00:15:35
Speaker 1: falls on your face, and you feel a deep thankfulness
00:15:39
Speaker 1: for the world around you. A feeling of peace and
00:15:43
Speaker 1: harmony washes over you as you walk with a spring
00:15:47
Speaker 1: in your step along the path. As you see the
00:15:52
Speaker 1: temple at the end of the path, a sense of
00:15:55
Speaker 1: adventure fills your heart. You notice that some of the
00:16:00
Speaker 1: other monkeys from the temple have now started to work
00:16:04
Speaker 1: on the garden, moving soil and plants around the front
00:16:07
Speaker 1: of the temple. You see one monkey carefully feeding the
00:16:12
Speaker 1: plants with fresh water. They seem to be caring for
00:16:16
Speaker 1: the plants in a way you've never seen before. They
00:16:20
Speaker 1: seem to be treating the plants as carefully as you
00:16:24
Speaker 1: would treat a person. You are amazed by the care
00:16:28
Speaker 1: taken by these monkeys to maintain their environment.
00:16:34
Speaker 2: As you watch the other.
00:16:35
Speaker 1: Monkeys working, a monkey comes and taps you on the shoulder.
00:16:41
Speaker 1: She has a massive grin on her face as she
00:16:44
Speaker 1: directs you towards the greenhouse. My name is Sam, and
00:16:50
Speaker 1: I'm here to show you how we can be of
00:16:52
Speaker 1: service by harvesting fruits and vegetables, she says, calmly is
00:17:00
Speaker 1: when you give to others without the idea of getting
00:17:04
Speaker 1: something back. We serve to make the other people around
00:17:08
Speaker 1: us feel happier. First we grow the ingredients, then we
00:17:14
Speaker 1: can cook a big meal to give to people in
00:17:17
Speaker 1: our community. You follow Sam into the greenhouse, eager to
00:17:22
Speaker 1: understand how you can help. At first, you feel nervous
00:17:28
Speaker 1: and you've never worked in a garden like this before.
00:17:33
Speaker 1: As soon as you enter the greenhouse, you are struck
00:17:36
Speaker 1: by the earthy smell of the soil and the sweet
00:17:39
Speaker 1: scent of the flowers. On both sides of the greenhouse,
00:17:43
Speaker 1: you see monkeys caring for the needs of the plants,
00:17:47
Speaker 1: making sure they are nourished and watered. As you walk
00:17:51
Speaker 1: around the greenhouse, you look at the plants, taking time
00:17:55
Speaker 1: to see how they move in the breeze and how
00:17:58
Speaker 1: their leaves shine in the light. Check out the patterns
00:18:03
Speaker 1: on the petals of the flowers and the fruits and
00:18:07
Speaker 1: veggies growing on the vines. As you are admiring nature's beauty,
00:18:13
Speaker 1: Sam gives you some guidance on how to look after
00:18:15
Speaker 1: the plants. The first thing we have to know when
00:18:20
Speaker 1: taking care of plants is that it is important to
00:18:24
Speaker 1: treat the plant as a living being. All we want
00:18:28
Speaker 1: to do is support it on its journey by nourishing
00:18:32
Speaker 1: it with the things that it needs to thrive. The
00:18:36
Speaker 1: second thing is taking care of plants. It's a process
00:18:40
Speaker 1: that needs patience and love. You learn that each little
00:18:45
Speaker 1: thing you do to take care of the plants can
00:18:49
Speaker 1: help them grow bigger and stronger. These juicy fruits and
00:18:54
Speaker 1: vegetables are as they are because we spend time making
00:18:58
Speaker 1: sure that they have everything that they need across their life.
00:19:04
Speaker 1: Sam then hands you are watering, can to give some
00:19:07
Speaker 1: of the plants on the other side of the greenhouse
00:19:10
Speaker 1: a little drink. You watch as the water trickles down
00:19:14
Speaker 1: to the soil, slowly seeping down to the roots. You
00:19:20
Speaker 1: imagine the plant growing big and strong, making lots of
00:19:26
Speaker 1: juicy fruit for us to enjoy. After some time watering
00:19:34
Speaker 1: the plants, you are called over by Sam to help
00:19:37
Speaker 1: harvest some of the rosy red tomatoes that are ripe
00:19:41
Speaker 1: and ready to be picked. You grab a big basket
00:19:47
Speaker 1: and start to pick some of the juicy tomatoes. You
00:19:51
Speaker 1: smile as you realize the time and effort that this
00:19:54
Speaker 1: plant has taken to produce this fruit. Also, so many
00:20:01
Speaker 1: hours of work have been put into watering and nourishing
00:20:05
Speaker 1: the plants by the other monkeys. You harvest all of
00:20:10
Speaker 1: the ripe tomatoes and follow Sam out of the greenhouse
00:20:15
Speaker 1: and into the temple. As you walk into the temple,
00:20:20
Speaker 1: you are greeted with a feeling of peace and happiness.
00:20:26
Speaker 1: Everyone in the temple seems to have a big, happy
00:20:30
Speaker 1: grin on their face going about their daily routine of service.
00:20:36
Speaker 1: It feels like a really special place, a place filled
00:20:41
Speaker 1: with joy and peace. As you walk through the hallway,
00:20:45
Speaker 1: you see pretty decorations like colorful flags, statues, and candles.
00:20:52
Speaker 1: You keep on following Sam as she directs you towards
00:20:55
Speaker 1: the kitchen. Inside the kitchen, you see monkeys rushing to
00:21:00
Speaker 1: prepare food for the evening meal. A large bell chimes
00:21:05
Speaker 1: from the top of the temple, telling everyone that it
00:21:08
Speaker 1: is dinner time. As you walk into the dining room,
00:21:13
Speaker 1: you see a wide range of animals, from the old
00:21:17
Speaker 1: wise master that you meditated with to local animals that
00:21:21
Speaker 1: also get given a meal. Everyone is sitting on the
00:21:26
Speaker 1: floor and gets the same meal no matter who they are.
00:21:31
Speaker 1: You look around and see everyone enjoying their home grown food.
00:21:38
Speaker 1: After finishing your meal, you start to feel sleepy and
00:21:44
Speaker 1: decide to return to your room and sleep. You thank
00:21:48
Speaker 1: the kitchen staff and the other guests and start to
00:21:52
Speaker 1: walk back to your room. As you enter your room,
00:21:57
Speaker 1: you get into bed then wrap your self in their
00:22:00
Speaker 1: comfy bedding. Your eyes slowly start to close. As you
00:22:07
Speaker 1: start to drift off. You close your eyes and take
00:22:13
Speaker 1: a moment to think about all the happy faces that
00:22:17
Speaker 1: were at the meal, all those happy faces around the
00:22:23
Speaker 1: room enjoying a meal together. You take a deep breath,
00:22:31
Speaker 1: allowing yourself to relax. Slowly, your breathing becomes quieter and
00:22:41
Speaker 1: quieter until you drift into a deep, relaxing sleep. The
00:24:30
