[00:04:31] Inside a classroom at Clover Meadow School, the teacher, a sheep called Mrs. MacLeod, was gathering the young animals together.

[00:04:40] She asked them to settle down on the carpet for story time.

[00:04:44] They always sat down for a story before leaving school for the day.

[00:04:48] The first animal to sit on the carpet was a piglet with a curly-wurly tail.

[00:04:54] His name was Pipsqueak, and he loved listening to stories.

[00:04:59] He looked eagerly at Mrs. MacLeod and wondered which story she would tell them.

[00:05:04] His best friend, Riggles the bunny, flopped down next to Pipsqueak and yawned.

[00:05:11] She blinked tiredly and smiled at Pipsqueak.

[00:05:15] He grinned and whispered,

[00:05:18] Pipsqueak, do you think Mrs. MacLeod will notice if I have a nap?

[00:05:26] Pipsqueak smiled at his snoozy friend and whispered back,

[00:05:31] Yes, she would notice.

[00:05:34] She notices everything.

[00:05:38] Why are you so tired, Riggles?

[00:05:42] The bunny yawned again and said he was often tired during the day,

[00:05:47] but before he could explain why,

[00:05:49] the rest of the young animals joined them on the carpet

[00:05:52] and waited for Mrs. MacLeod to speak.

[00:05:56] The kind-faced teacher smiled at the animals and said,

[00:06:01] We've had a wonderful day at school and everyone has worked very hard.

[00:06:10] Her smile softened and she continued,

[00:06:14] I can't help noticing that some of you have been yawning a lot this afternoon.

[00:06:23] As soon as she said yawning, little mouths opened

[00:06:30] and a series of tired yawns echoed around the classroom.

[00:06:36] It wasn't just Riggles who yawned.

[00:06:39] Many of his classmates did too.

[00:06:43] Lambs, kittens, puppies and a small calf

[00:06:48] who had just joined the class the previous week.

[00:06:51] Pipsqueak was a bit confused

[00:06:54] and couldn't understand why everyone was yawning.

[00:06:58] He wasn't at all tired,

[00:07:01] but he knew he would be later at bedtime.

[00:07:06] Mrs. MacLeod said gently,

[00:07:09] I think some of you are staying up too late at night

[00:07:16] and not going to sleep early enough.

[00:07:20] Before we have our story,

[00:07:24] let's have a little chat about your bedtime routines.

[00:07:29] Riggles, could you speak first, please?

[00:07:34] Riggles wriggled and jiggled on the carpet

[00:07:38] and then stood up.

[00:07:40] He said,

[00:07:42] I go to bed at the same time every night.

[00:07:46] I have a bath,

[00:07:49] get into my pyjamas,

[00:07:52] brush my teeth and jump into my bed.

[00:07:55] He broke into a grin

[00:07:57] and jigged from side to side.

[00:08:00] Then I talk to my mum and dad

[00:08:03] about everything I did that day.

[00:08:06] Sometimes I get so excited about what I've done

[00:08:10] that I wriggle about in bed

[00:08:12] and make my bed cover fall off.

[00:08:15] Some of the young animals giggled.

[00:08:18] Riggles carried on talking

[00:08:20] and explained how he would chat nonstop to his parents

[00:08:24] and when they left the room,

[00:08:26] he would think of something else to tell them

[00:08:29] and ask them to come back.

[00:08:31] Sometimes he would ask them for a drink

[00:08:34] and sometimes he would sing them a song

[00:08:37] that he'd just made up.

[00:08:39] Would you like to hear the song I made up last night?

[00:08:42] I made up a dance too,

[00:08:45] Riggles asked.

[00:08:46] He flung his arms out,

[00:08:49] ready to sing.

[00:08:50] The teacher quickly said,

[00:08:53] no, thank you

[00:08:54] and asked the bunny to sit back down.

[00:08:58] She asked some of the other yawning animals

[00:09:01] about their bedtime routines.

[00:09:04] Theirs were similar to Riggles' routine

[00:09:06] and involved getting into bed,

[00:09:09] chatting and asking for drinks,

[00:09:11] snacks and maybe another teddy bear to cuddle.

[00:09:15] Some of the animals said

[00:09:17] they often got out of bed

[00:09:19] and went into their parents' rooms

[00:09:21] to say hello and chat some more.

[00:09:25] Mrs MacLeod looked at Pipsqueak

[00:09:28] and asked about his bedtime routine

[00:09:31] and if he sometimes went to bed late.

[00:09:35] Pipsqueak said,

[00:09:37] I never go to bed late.

[00:09:40] I love getting into my snuggly warm bed

[00:09:44] and going to sleep.

[00:09:47] Sometimes I even go to bed early.

[00:09:53] Some of the other animals gasped in shock.

[00:09:57] Riggles' gasp was the loudest

[00:10:00] and he asked his piglet friend

[00:10:03] why he would go to bed early

[00:10:05] when there was lots of fun still to be had.

[00:10:09] A dreamy look settled on Pipsqueak's face

[00:10:13] and he said,

[00:10:14] I love getting all cosy in my bed.

[00:10:19] I love how soft my cover is

[00:10:23] and how my head sinks into my pillow.

[00:10:28] I love knowing that other animals

[00:10:32] are settling down to sleep too

[00:10:34] and getting as comfy as me.

[00:10:37] And I just love getting more and more tired

[00:10:44] and then drifting into a deep sleep

[00:10:48] and seeing what amazing dreams are waiting for me.

[00:10:52] I had a dream about flying last night.

[00:10:56] It was great.

[00:10:59] I sleep all through the night

[00:11:01] and when I wake up

[00:11:02] I've got lots and lots of energy.

[00:11:07] He sighed happily.

[00:11:11] Hearing his words about bedtime

[00:11:13] caused another chorus of yawns

[00:11:16] to echo around the classroom.

[00:11:18] Wiggles gave Pipsqueak a long look

[00:11:22] and said,

[00:11:25] I still don't understand

[00:11:28] why you would want to go to bed early.

[00:11:32] It's fun to stay up and chat

[00:11:35] and sing and dance.

[00:11:38] Pipsqueak smiled at his best friend

[00:11:41] and said,

[00:11:43] Going to sleep is fun too.

[00:11:46] I love it.

[00:11:47] And I love how much energy

[00:11:50] I've got in the morning.

[00:11:52] Why don't we ask our parents

[00:11:56] if you can have a sleepover

[00:11:58] at my house tonight?

[00:12:01] Then you can go to bed early too

[00:12:04] and see how much you love it.

[00:12:08] Wiggles shifted about on the carpet

[00:12:11] and said he wouldn't love it at all.

[00:12:14] But he would like to have a sleepover

[00:12:17] because he loved spending time

[00:12:20] with Pipsqueak.

[00:12:22] The two friends grinned at each other

[00:12:25] and then looked at their teacher

[00:12:27] who was about to start the story.

[00:12:30] Mrs. MacLeod told them a story

[00:12:33] about two dogs

[00:12:34] who travelled to a magical place

[00:12:37] called Dreamland,

[00:12:38] a place where all their dreams came true.

[00:12:43] When she got to the end of the story,

[00:12:45] she said,

[00:12:46] Don't forget,

[00:12:49] we are going on our school trip

[00:12:52] to the seaside tomorrow.

[00:12:55] So,

[00:12:56] I hope you'll all

[00:12:58] have a good night's sleep.

[00:13:01] You'll need to have a lot of energy

[00:13:04] for all those wonderful activities

[00:13:06] I've got planned for you.

[00:13:10] The thought of going to the seaside

[00:13:13] made Wiggles the bunny wriggle even more.

[00:13:19] The teacher said it was home time

[00:13:21] and told the children

[00:13:23] to collect their coats and bags

[00:13:25] and then wait at the door

[00:13:27] to be collected by their parents

[00:13:29] and grandparents.

[00:13:33] Pipsqueak and Wiggles

[00:13:34] were the first to collect their belongings

[00:13:36] and line up at the door.

[00:13:39] Pipsqueak's dad

[00:13:40] came into the classroom first.

[00:13:43] He was followed by Wiggles' parents

[00:13:46] who looked a little tired

[00:13:48] and kept yawning.

[00:13:51] Pipsqueak hugged his dad

[00:13:53] and asked if Wiggles

[00:13:55] could come over for a sleepover that night.

[00:13:58] Please.

[00:13:59] His dad replied,

[00:14:02] I'll have to check

[00:14:03] with your parents first, Wiggles.

[00:14:07] He spoke to the tired rabbits

[00:14:09] at his side

[00:14:10] and asked if it was okay

[00:14:12] for their son to stay over.

[00:14:16] Yes,

[00:14:17] they replied quickly

[00:14:19] at the same time.

[00:14:20] Yes, please.

[00:14:22] Thank you.

[00:14:22] Thank you so much for asking.

[00:14:26] Pipsqueak's dad

[00:14:27] saw how tired they were

[00:14:29] and said,

[00:14:30] He can come home with us now

[00:14:33] and have dinner with us too.

[00:14:35] Could you call round

[00:14:37] to our house later

[00:14:38] with his pyjamas

[00:14:39] and clothes

[00:14:40] for tomorrow, please?

[00:14:43] Wiggles' mum

[00:14:45] nodded eagerly

[00:14:46] and said of course.

[00:14:49] They hugged their wriggling son

[00:14:51] and kissed him on the cheek.

[00:14:54] Before leaving the classroom,

[00:14:56] they thanked Pipsqueak's dad again.

[00:15:01] Pipsqueak and Wiggles

[00:15:03] said goodbye

[00:15:04] to their school friends

[00:15:05] and left the classroom

[00:15:07] with Pipsqueak's dad.

[00:15:09] He asked if they would like

[00:15:11] to visit the park

[00:15:12] on their way home.

[00:15:14] Wiggles

[00:15:15] spun around

[00:15:16] three times

[00:15:17] on the spot

[00:15:18] and said he would love that.

[00:15:21] Pipsqueak said he would too.

[00:15:25] They soon reached the park

[00:15:27] and headed towards

[00:15:28] the play area.

[00:15:29] Wiggles and Pipsqueak

[00:15:32] ran to the swings

[00:15:34] and took turns

[00:15:35] pushing each other.

[00:15:37] After the swings,

[00:15:38] they went on the slide

[00:15:40] and the roundabout.

[00:15:42] They played a few chasing games

[00:15:45] until it was time

[00:15:46] to leave the park.

[00:15:48] Five minutes

[00:15:50] after leaving the park,

[00:15:51] they arrived

[00:15:52] at Pipsqueak's house

[00:15:53] and went inside.

[00:15:56] Pipsqueak's mum

[00:15:58] was delighted

[00:15:58] to see Wiggles

[00:15:59] and helped him

[00:16:01] to take off his coat

[00:16:02] and shoes

[00:16:03] and put them away.

[00:16:05] Wiggles danced

[00:16:06] with excitement

[00:16:07] and kept

[00:16:08] jigging about.

[00:16:11] Pipsqueak's mum

[00:16:12] said to the youngsters,

[00:16:15] I'm just about

[00:16:17] to bake some

[00:16:18] chocolate chip cookies.

[00:16:20] Would you like

[00:16:21] to help me?

[00:16:23] The bunny

[00:16:24] and piglet

[00:16:25] said yes

[00:16:26] and followed

[00:16:27] Pipsqueak's mum

[00:16:28] into the kitchen.

[00:16:30] She tied aprons

[00:16:31] around them.

[00:16:32] She did have

[00:16:33] a spot of bother

[00:16:34] tying Wiggles' apron

[00:16:36] because he kept

[00:16:37] wriggling so much.

[00:16:38] He said he was

[00:16:40] very excited

[00:16:41] about making cookies

[00:16:43] and even more

[00:16:44] excited about

[00:16:45] eating them

[00:16:46] later on.

[00:16:48] Me too,

[00:16:50] Pipsqueak's mum

[00:16:51] said.

[00:16:52] But first,

[00:16:54] we have to

[00:16:55] carefully

[00:16:56] weigh out

[00:16:57] the ingredients

[00:16:58] and take our

[00:16:59] time doing that.

[00:17:01] Wiggles,

[00:17:02] could you help

[00:17:04] me out

[00:17:04] with that,

[00:17:05] please?

[00:17:06] Wiggles said yes

[00:17:08] and stood next

[00:17:09] to Pipsqueak's mum.

[00:17:12] She told him

[00:17:13] what ingredients

[00:17:14] were needed

[00:17:14] and how much

[00:17:16] of each.

[00:17:17] Wiggles'

[00:17:18] wriggle was

[00:17:19] slowed down

[00:17:20] and he concentrated

[00:17:21] on what he was

[00:17:22] being told.

[00:17:25] After washing

[00:17:26] his paws,

[00:17:27] Wiggles weighed

[00:17:28] out the ingredients

[00:17:30] very slowly

[00:17:31] and very carefully.

[00:17:32] he put them

[00:17:34] into a bowl

[00:17:35] and helped

[00:17:36] stir the mixture

[00:17:37] until it was

[00:17:38] just right.

[00:17:40] He was so busy

[00:17:42] concentrating

[00:17:42] on what he was

[00:17:44] doing

[00:17:44] that he didn't

[00:17:45] wriggle

[00:17:46] even once.

[00:17:50] Whilst

[00:17:51] Wiggles was

[00:17:52] doing that,

[00:17:53] Pipsqueak prepared

[00:17:54] the baking

[00:17:55] trays.

[00:17:57] When the

[00:17:58] cookie

[00:17:58] mixture

[00:17:59] was ready,

[00:18:00] Pipsqueak's mum

[00:18:01] put half

[00:18:02] of it

[00:18:02] in front

[00:18:03] of Wiggles

[00:18:03] and half

[00:18:04] in front

[00:18:05] of Pipsqueak.

[00:18:07] Wiggles

[00:18:07] stared at it

[00:18:08] and asked

[00:18:10] Pipsqueak

[00:18:10] what he should

[00:18:11] do with it.

[00:18:13] Make it

[00:18:14] into cookie

[00:18:15] shapes

[00:18:16] like this,

[00:18:17] Pipsqueak

[00:18:18] replied.

[00:18:19] He showed

[00:18:20] his friend

[00:18:20] what to do.

[00:18:22] Once again,

[00:18:24] Wiggles

[00:18:24] took his time

[00:18:25] and concentrated.

[00:18:27] He made

[00:18:28] perfect

[00:18:29] cookie

[00:18:29] shapes.

[00:18:31] Then

[00:18:31] he placed

[00:18:32] some chocolate

[00:18:33] chips

[00:18:33] on top

[00:18:34] of them

[00:18:34] in the

[00:18:35] shape

[00:18:35] of smiley

[00:18:36] faces.

[00:18:38] Pipsqueak

[00:18:39] chuckled

[00:18:39] and said

[00:18:40] the cookies

[00:18:41] looked great.

[00:18:43] Wiggles

[00:18:44] chuckled

[00:18:45] too

[00:18:45] and said

[00:18:46] making

[00:18:47] the cookies

[00:18:47] had been

[00:18:48] a fun

[00:18:48] thing

[00:18:58] Riggles

[00:18:58] asked

[00:18:59] his feet

[00:18:59] starting

[00:19:00] to jig

[00:19:00] from side

[00:19:01] to side

[00:19:02] or

[00:19:03] some

[00:19:04] dancing.

[00:19:06] Pipsqueak

[00:19:06] said

[00:19:07] we

[00:19:08] can

[00:19:09] but

[00:19:10] I've got

[00:19:11] a jigsaw puzzle

[00:19:12] that I haven't

[00:19:12] finished yet.

[00:19:14] Can you help

[00:19:15] me with it?

[00:19:17] Riggles

[00:19:18] had never

[00:19:18] done any

[00:19:19] jigsaw puzzles

[00:19:20] before

[00:19:20] because he

[00:19:22] thought they

[00:19:22] weren't that

[00:19:23] exciting

[00:19:23] but

[00:19:24] Pipsqueak

[00:19:25] was his

[00:19:25] very best

[00:19:26] friend

[00:19:27] so he

[00:19:27] said

[00:19:28] yes

[00:19:28] I'll help

[00:19:29] you

[00:19:30] can you

[00:19:31] show me

[00:19:31] what to

[00:19:31] do?

[00:19:33] The

[00:19:34] piglet

[00:19:34] and bunny

[00:19:35] went into

[00:19:36] the dining

[00:19:36] room

[00:19:37] and over

[00:19:38] to a

[00:19:38] little

[00:19:38] table

[00:19:39] in the

[00:19:39] corner.

[00:19:42] Pipsqueak

[00:19:43] said it

[00:19:43] was his

[00:19:44] craft

[00:19:44] corner

[00:19:45] and he

[00:19:45] often

[00:19:46] sat at

[00:19:46] the

[00:19:46] table

[00:19:47] after

[00:19:47] school

[00:19:48] and did

[00:19:48] some

[00:19:48] quiet

[00:19:49] activities.

[00:19:51] Riggles

[00:19:52] shook

[00:19:52] his head

[00:19:53] at his

[00:19:53] friend.

[00:19:55] Why do

[00:19:56] you want

[00:19:56] to sit

[00:19:57] down?

[00:19:58] Don't

[00:19:58] you want

[00:19:59] to run

[00:19:59] around

[00:19:59] when you

[00:20:00] come

[00:20:00] home?

[00:20:03] Pipsqueak

[00:20:03] said he'd

[00:20:04] done plenty

[00:20:05] of running

[00:20:05] around that

[00:20:06] day and

[00:20:07] he was

[00:20:08] ready to

[00:20:08] slow down

[00:20:09] a bit

[00:20:09] and he

[00:20:10] wanted his

[00:20:11] mind to

[00:20:11] slow down

[00:20:12] a bit

[00:20:13] too.

[00:20:15] Riggles

[00:20:16] frowned

[00:20:16] and was

[00:20:17] just about

[00:20:18] to say

[00:20:19] he didn't

[00:20:19] understand

[00:20:20] why anyone

[00:20:21] would want

[00:20:22] to slow

[00:20:23] down.

[00:20:24] But then

[00:20:25] he saw

[00:20:26] the half

[00:20:26] completed

[00:20:27] jigsaw

[00:20:28] puzzle

[00:20:28] on the

[00:20:28] table.

[00:20:30] Whoa!

[00:20:32] Is that

[00:20:33] a dinosaur

[00:20:34] jigsaw?

[00:20:36] Is that

[00:20:37] a T-Rex

[00:20:38] in the

[00:20:38] middle

[00:20:39] of the

[00:20:39] picture?

[00:20:40] I love

[00:20:42] dinosaurs.

[00:20:43] I know

[00:20:45] you do,

[00:20:46] Pipsqueak

[00:20:47] said.

[00:20:48] That's

[00:20:49] why I

[00:20:50] need your

[00:20:50] help putting

[00:20:51] this together.

[00:20:53] sit

[00:20:53] here

[00:20:54] and tell

[00:20:55] me

[00:20:55] where

[00:20:55] this

[00:20:56] piece

[00:20:56] should

[00:20:56] go,

[00:20:57] please.

[00:20:58] The

[00:20:59] two

[00:20:59] friends

[00:21:00] sat

[00:21:00] down

[00:21:01] next
