Speaker 1: Hello and welcome back to Coco Sleep, a podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:20
Speaker 1: a dream. First things first, I'd like to say welcome
00:00:25
Speaker 1: to our new Coco Club members, Sol and Columba. We're
00:00:29
Speaker 1: so happy to have you, Thank you for joining. I'd
00:00:32
Speaker 1: also like to say a big hello to our friend
00:00:35
Speaker 1: Hayden and his little sister Parker, who are kind enough
00:00:38
Speaker 1: to wish me a happy Valentine's Day in February. Thank you, Hayden,
00:00:42
Speaker 1: and I'd like to wish you a happy Saint Patrick's Day.
00:00:46
Speaker 1: In fact, Happy Saint Patrick's Day to everyone, especially to
00:00:52
Speaker 1: Lilly Patrick, who we know because her mum wrote to
00:00:55
Speaker 1: us has a birthday on Saint Patrick's Day. Saint Patrick's
00:00:59
Speaker 1: Day is an Irish holiday where there's parties and parades,
00:01:03
Speaker 1: singing and dancing as the people who live there celebrate
00:01:07
Speaker 1: their home. Have any of you Coco Sloopers ever been
00:01:10
Speaker 1: to Ireland? Some of you may even live there. It's
00:01:14
Speaker 1: a beautiful country just over the sea from where I live,
00:01:18
Speaker 1: where there's bright green hills and rocky beaches and lots
00:01:22
Speaker 1: and lots of stories to be told in our own
00:01:26
Speaker 1: little celebration. We would like to share a special story
00:01:30
Speaker 1: with you tonight. It features fairies, wishes, and an Irish
00:01:35
Speaker 1: mythical creature called a leprecorn. This leprecorn is called Shamrock,
00:01:42
Speaker 1: and one day he goes on a walk through a
00:01:44
Speaker 1: forest where he meets seven friendly fairies. The leprecorn helps
00:01:50
Speaker 1: the fairies and in return they give him gold coins
00:01:54
Speaker 1: to say thank you for his kindness. Each coin contains
00:01:58
Speaker 1: a wish. Let's find out how Shamrock uses them. This
00:02:04
Speaker 1: is the Sleepy Leprecorn by Gillian Rogerson. Once upon a time,
00:02:15
Speaker 1: in a land called Ireland, there lived a friendly leprecorn
00:02:19
Speaker 1: called Shamrock. The little leprecorn loved singing and dancing, and
00:02:25
Speaker 1: most of all, he loved sleeping. Shamrock was a magic leprecorn,
00:02:31
Speaker 1: and he had an enchanted flute that he would use
00:02:34
Speaker 1: when someone needed help. One sunny day, Shamrock set off
00:02:39
Speaker 1: for a stroll through a forest. He had a feeling
00:02:43
Speaker 1: that his help might be needed that day somehow. As
00:02:47
Speaker 1: he walked along, he soon came upon a small fairy
00:02:50
Speaker 1: with red hair, green eyes, and wings in the shape
00:02:55
Speaker 1: of hearts. She was standing outside a cottage which had
00:02:59
Speaker 1: red rose growing around the door. There was a small
00:03:03
Speaker 1: paintbrush in one of her hands and a paint pot
00:03:06
Speaker 1: in the other. The red fairy was looking at the
00:03:10
Speaker 1: paint pot with a concerned expression on her face. Shamrock
00:03:17
Speaker 1: called out a friendly hello and walked over to the fairy.
00:03:21
Speaker 1: He introduced himself and said, I couldn't help noticing that
00:03:26
Speaker 1: something seems to be troubling you about that paint pot.
00:03:31
Speaker 1: The red fairy looked at Shamrock, sighed gently and said,
00:03:38
Speaker 1: I've completely run out of red paint. I've been to
00:03:42
Speaker 1: the local shop and they don't have any either. She
00:03:47
Speaker 1: told Shamrock her name was Rose, and she loved painting
00:03:51
Speaker 1: hearts and red roses onto greeting cards. She would then
00:03:55
Speaker 1: give the cards to her friends, family, and neighbors. She
00:03:59
Speaker 1: loved see the joy on their faces when they received
00:04:03
Speaker 1: one of her cards. Rose looked back at the empty
00:04:10
Speaker 1: pot and shrugged. I suppose I'd have to paint something else,
00:04:16
Speaker 1: but I do so love painting red hearts and flowers.
00:04:23
Speaker 1: Shamrock took his flute from his pocket and told Rose
00:04:27
Speaker 1: it had magical powers and that he could use them
00:04:31
Speaker 1: to help her if you would like my help, that is,
00:04:36
Speaker 1: he asked. Rose broke into a smile and said, I
00:04:42
Speaker 1: would like that very much, thank you. The Leprechorn looked
00:04:46
Speaker 1: at the ground in front of the fairy's cottage. An
00:04:50
Speaker 1: idea came to him. He lifted the flute to his
00:04:54
Speaker 1: mouth and began to play a soothing tune. A soft
00:04:59
Speaker 1: melody drifted around the fairy and the leprecorn. It made
00:05:05
Speaker 1: Rose smile and she swayed gently from side to side.
00:05:11
Speaker 1: After a while, Shamrock stopped playing the flute. He told
00:05:17
Speaker 1: Rose to look at the ground in front of her.
00:05:20
Speaker 1: The little fairy did so and was astonished to see
00:05:24
Speaker 1: roses slowly sprouting from the grass. They grew bigger and bigger,
00:05:32
Speaker 1: and soon their velvety red petals opened. Inside the petals
00:05:38
Speaker 1: were small paint pots which contained red paint. Shamrock told
00:05:45
Speaker 1: Rose that the pots inside the roses were magical ones
00:05:50
Speaker 1: and would never ever run out of red paint. For
00:05:55
Speaker 1: a moment, Rose didn't know what to say. She gazed
00:05:59
Speaker 1: at the magic flowers and slowly shook her head in disbelief.
00:06:05
Speaker 1: She looked back at the thoughtful eprocorn and said, thank you,
00:06:10
Speaker 1: thank you so much. I can't wait to start painting
00:06:14
Speaker 1: more hearts and flowers. You are very welcome, Shamrock replied
00:06:21
Speaker 1: with a smile. He was about to walk away, but
00:06:26
Speaker 1: Rose reached into one of her pockets and pulled out
00:06:30
Speaker 1: a gold coin. She gave it to Shamrock and said,
00:06:35
Speaker 1: this is my way of saying thank you for your help.
00:06:39
Speaker 1: This coin contains one wish and you can use it
00:06:44
Speaker 1: for anything you want. Shamrock was touched by her kindness.
00:06:50
Speaker 1: He took the coin, said good bye, and went on
00:06:54
Speaker 1: his way. Very soon he met another fairy. This fairy
00:07:01
Speaker 1: had spiky gold hair tipped with orange, and bright orange
00:07:05
Speaker 1: wings that shimmered in the sunshine. The fairy was sitting
00:07:10
Speaker 1: on a rock with her chin resting on her hands.
00:07:15
Speaker 1: She was staring at the grass with a puzzled look
00:07:18
Speaker 1: on her little face. Shamrock called out a cheerful hello
00:07:24
Speaker 1: and introduced himself. He asked if something was bothering the fairy,
00:07:29
Speaker 1: and if so, could he help. The orange fairy sighed
00:07:35
Speaker 1: and said, I don't think any one can help me,
00:07:39
Speaker 1: but thank you for your kind offer. She told Shamrock
00:07:45
Speaker 1: her name was Blossom and she was usually a very
00:07:49
Speaker 1: happy fairy, and from the moment she woke up she
00:07:54
Speaker 1: always found something to be cheerful about loss and said,
00:08:01
Speaker 1: but this morning I couldn't find anything at all to
00:08:06
Speaker 1: be happy about, not a single thing. I think I've
00:08:12
Speaker 1: lost my happiness somewhere. I don't know where to find it,
00:08:16
Speaker 1: or even how to start looking for it. Shamrock said, kindly,
00:08:24
Speaker 1: your happiness is always inside you, but sometimes you need
00:08:30
Speaker 1: a little bit of help to wake it up. With
00:08:35
Speaker 1: your permission, I would like to play my magical flute
00:08:39
Speaker 1: for you. It might help. Blossom said, you can try,
00:08:46
Speaker 1: but I'm not sure how a flute will help me.
00:08:56
Speaker 1: Shamrock brought the enchanted flute to his mouth and blew
00:09:01
Speaker 1: gently on it. A joyful melody came from the flute,
00:09:06
Speaker 1: and musical notes magically appeared in the air. Blossom watched
00:09:13
Speaker 1: the notes bob along on the gentle breeze. She stood
00:09:18
Speaker 1: up and followed their journey. The notes floated into rays
00:09:24
Speaker 1: of sunlight that streamed through the branches. Blossom walked into
00:09:30
Speaker 1: the rays and felt the gentle warmth of the sun
00:09:34
Speaker 1: on her skin. A small smile alighted on her face.
00:09:41
Speaker 1: The musical notes bobbed away towards some fluttering butterflies. Blossom
00:09:49
Speaker 1: followed the notes, and when she got closer to the butterflies,
00:09:54
Speaker 1: they danced around her with their bright wings flapping slowly.
00:10:00
Speaker 1: Blossom danced with the fairies, and her smile grew bigger.
00:10:07
Speaker 1: The orange fairy followed the notes again, and they took
00:10:11
Speaker 1: her closer to bees who were resting on flowers and
00:10:16
Speaker 1: buzzing quietly, and then over to some ladybirds who were
00:10:21
Speaker 1: climbing tall blades of grass. Everything she saw filled Blossom's
00:10:29
Speaker 1: heart with love and happiness, and her smile grew even bigger.
00:10:36
Speaker 1: Her orange wings glowed brightly. Shamrock stopped playing his flute
00:10:44
Speaker 1: and lowered it. The musical notes faded away, but Blossom
00:10:50
Speaker 1: continued to smile at the beauty of her surroundings. Shamrock
00:10:55
Speaker 1: asked how she was feeling. Why wonderful, Just wonderful, Blossom replied,
00:11:06
Speaker 1: her eyes full of joy. I'd forgotten just how beautiful
00:11:13
Speaker 1: this forest is, and just looking more closely at it
00:11:19
Speaker 1: has made me feel so happy and warm inside. Thank
00:11:24
Speaker 1: you so much for helping me, Shamrock said she was
00:11:31
Speaker 1: very welcome. Before he could say goodbye and continue on
00:11:36
Speaker 1: his journey, Blossom gave him a fairy coin just as
00:11:41
Speaker 1: Rose had done and told him it contained one wish.
00:11:47
Speaker 1: Shamrock took the coin, said thank you, and went on
00:11:51
Speaker 1: his way. He let out a small yawn. Playing the
00:11:57
Speaker 1: flute always made him sleepy. He carried on walking through
00:12:04
Speaker 1: the forest, humming gently to himself and letting out the
00:12:10
Speaker 1: occasional yawn. Very soon he came upon another fairy who
00:12:18
Speaker 1: was standing in the middle of a sun dappled glade.
00:12:23
Speaker 1: This fairy had long yellow hair, with a small sunflower
00:12:29
Speaker 1: tucked behind one ear. A daisy chain hung around her neck,
00:12:35
Speaker 1: and her pale yellow wings were shaped like daisy petals.
00:12:43
Speaker 1: The fairy didn't notice Shamrock because she was looking at
00:12:47
Speaker 1: her legs in confusion. She was mumbling something to herself.
00:12:53
Speaker 1: Shamrock didn't catch her words, but he could tell something
00:12:58
Speaker 1: was troubling her. Shamrock politely cleared his throat and said, hello, there,
00:13:07
Speaker 1: I do hope I'm not disturbing you, but may I
00:13:11
Speaker 1: ask is something bothering you? The yellow fairy looked at
00:13:18
Speaker 1: Shamrock and said, hello, You're not disturbing me at all.
00:13:25
Speaker 1: Something is bothering me, and I don't know what to
00:13:29
Speaker 1: do about it. I have to make up a new
00:13:33
Speaker 1: dance for a summer ball that's coming up. I love dancing,
00:13:38
Speaker 1: and I've made up many dances before, but for some reason,
00:13:43
Speaker 1: I can't think of any new moves at all. I've
00:13:48
Speaker 1: been trying all morning, but I haven't managed to come
00:13:53
Speaker 1: up with even one new step. I think my legs
00:13:58
Speaker 1: have forgotten how to dance. Oh, she sighed and shook
00:14:04
Speaker 1: her head at her legs. Shamrock gently said, perhaps you
00:14:12
Speaker 1: should stop thinking about a new dance and perform one
00:14:17
Speaker 1: that you already know, one that might be easier for
00:14:21
Speaker 1: your legs. If you like, I can plain my flute.
00:14:27
Speaker 1: It's a magical one and it might work its magic
00:14:30
Speaker 1: on your dancing legs. Shamrock gave his name, and then
00:14:37
Speaker 1: took his flute from his pocket and showed it to
00:14:40
Speaker 1: the yellow fairy. The fairy smiled and said her name
00:14:46
Speaker 1: was Sunbeam. She thought performing a dance that she knew
00:14:51
Speaker 1: well was an excellent idea. Shamrock began to play a
00:14:57
Speaker 1: light and cheerful melody on his magical flute. The joyful
00:15:03
Speaker 1: song echoed around the glade. A smile appeared on Sunbeam's face,
00:15:13
Speaker 1: and she started to tap her feet. Then she swayed
00:15:18
Speaker 1: from side to side and waved her hands in the air.
00:15:24
Speaker 1: Her smile grew bigger, and her legs skipped back and
00:15:29
Speaker 1: forth in a jaunty movement. Shamrock continued playing his upbeat tune,
00:15:38
Speaker 1: and Sunbeam twirled across the soft grass and whirled around
00:15:43
Speaker 1: the trees. She hopped onto a rock and had a boogie.
00:15:49
Speaker 1: She laughed with delight as she got lost in her dance.
00:15:54
Speaker 1: Shamrock began to tap his feet and he jigged from
00:15:58
Speaker 1: side to side. The little fairy jumped off the rock
00:16:04
Speaker 1: and jigged and jived across the grass. Her eyes suddenly
00:16:10
Speaker 1: widened and she said, Oh, I'm making up a new
00:16:14
Speaker 1: dance right now. My legs know exactly what to do.
00:16:22
Speaker 1: Shamrock played his lovely tune while Sunbeam continued to create
00:16:28
Speaker 1: a new dance. A ray of sun shone down on
00:16:33
Speaker 1: the dancing fairy and made her wings sparkle and shimmer.
00:16:39
Speaker 1: When Sunbeam came to the end of her dance, she
00:16:43
Speaker 1: held her arms out and bowed to her audience of one.
00:16:49
Speaker 1: Shamrock stopped playing his flute and gave her an enthusiastic
00:16:55
Speaker 1: round of applause. He said her dance was very aggressive,
00:17:01
Speaker 1: and he was sure she'd be a hit at the
00:17:04
Speaker 1: summer Ball. Sunbeams smiled at Shamrock and said, it's all
00:17:13
Speaker 1: thanks to you. I'm going to practice my new dance.
00:17:18
Speaker 1: I think I can make it even better. The little
00:17:25
Speaker 1: yellow fairy gave Shamrock a gold coin to thank him
00:17:30
Speaker 1: for his help. Shamrock said thank you, and with a
00:17:35
Speaker 1: wave of goodbye, he went on his way. The happy
00:17:40
Speaker 1: leprecorn walked on and thought about the fairies he had
00:17:45
Speaker 1: helped and the coins they had given him. He didn't
00:17:50
Speaker 1: know what to wish for, but thought something might occur
00:17:55
Speaker 1: to him later. He walked on some more, yawning now
00:18:01
Speaker 1: and again and wondering if it was time for his
00:18:04
Speaker 1: nap yet. Very soon he met another fairy in the forest.
00:18:12
Speaker 1: This fairy was wearing a green tunic over gold trousers.
00:18:17
Speaker 1: He had curly emerald green hair, and his wings were
00:18:22
Speaker 1: shaped like leaves. The little fairy was frowning and looking
00:18:29
Speaker 1: behind a rock, as though possibly searching for something. Shamrock
00:18:36
Speaker 1: called out a friendly hello and walked over to the
00:18:40
Speaker 1: green fairy. He asked if he was looking for something.
00:18:48
Speaker 1: The green fairy looked at Shamrock and smiled. He said, indeed,
00:18:54
Speaker 1: I'm looking for something. I have lost my shoes somewhere.
00:19:00
Speaker 1: I had them this morning, but I've lost them somewhere.
00:19:06
Speaker 1: He lifted one of his bare feet and wriggled his toes.
00:19:11
Speaker 1: I'll have to find them soon because my feet are
00:19:15
Speaker 1: getting cold. The fairy introduced himself and said his name
00:19:22
Speaker 1: was Ashleigh. Shamrock gave his name and asked Ashleigh if
00:19:28
Speaker 1: he would like help finding his shoes. Ashley nodded and
00:19:34
Speaker 1: said he would like that. Shamrock asked Ashleigh where he
00:19:40
Speaker 1: had been that morning. Ashley scratched his head and replied, everywhere.
00:19:49
Speaker 1: I have walked all through the forest. I love walking
00:19:54
Speaker 1: through the forest and looking at the beautiful trees. Sometime
00:20:00
Speaker 1: I lie down beneath the trees and take a nap.
00:20:04
Speaker 1: I've had five naps already today. I must have taken
00:20:09
Speaker 1: my shoes off during one of my naps, but now
00:20:13
Speaker 1: I can't remember which tree I slept beneath. I suppose
00:20:19
Speaker 1: I'll have to go back through the forest and look
00:20:23
Speaker 1: under every tree. But I'm so very tired. Ooh, he
00:20:32
Speaker 1: let out along long yawn. Shamrock yawned too. When the
00:20:42
Speaker 1: leprecorn finished yawning, an idea popped into his head. He
00:20:49
Speaker 1: pulled the flute from his pocket and said to the fairy,
00:20:56
Speaker 1: you don't have to go looking for your shoes, because
00:21:00
Speaker 1: I can ask them to come to us. This flute
00:21:04
Speaker 1: is magical, and if I play a certain tune, your
00:21:09
Speaker 1: shoes should walk towards us. Shamrock gave the Green Fairy
00:21:14
Speaker 1: a little grin. Well that's what should happen. I've never
00:21:21
Speaker 1: tried to do this before. Shall we give it a go.
00:21:26
Speaker 1: Ashley nodded and said, shall I sing a song at
00:21:30
Speaker 1: the same time, I could ask my shoes to come
00:21:36
Speaker 1: back to me. Shamrock smiled and said that was a
00:21:41
Speaker 1: wonderful suggestion. The Leprecorn played his flute and Ashley sang
00:21:49
Speaker 1: a song and asked his shoes to please return to him.
00:21:55
Speaker 1: At first, nothing happened, no shoe appeared from any direction,
00:22:03
Speaker 1: but the Leprecorn and the Green Fairy didn't give up.
00:22:08
Speaker 1: Shamrock continued playing his flute and Ashley continued singing to
00:22:14
Speaker 1: his lost shoes. After a while, a slight rustling sound
00:22:22
Speaker 1: came from the grass in front of the fairy and neprecorn.
00:22:27
Speaker 1: The rustling got louder and then a pair of green
00:22:32
Speaker 1: shoes danced through the grass and over to Ashley. He
00:22:38
Speaker 1: smiled at the shoes and picked them up. He gave
00:22:42
Speaker 1: them a hug and promised never to lose them again.
00:22:51
Speaker 1: Shamrock lowered his flute and smiled at the happy fairy.
00:22:57
Speaker 1: Ashley gave Shamrock a gold coin as I thank you.
00:23:03
Speaker 1: Shamrock took the coin with thanks, said goodbye, and went
00:23:08
Speaker 1: on his way. As he walked along, Shamrock heard the
00:23:14
Speaker 1: soothing sound of running water. He followed the sound through
00:23:20
Speaker 1: the forest and into a lagoon. The little blue Fairy
00:23:25
Speaker 1: was sitting cross legged at the side of the shimmering water,
00:23:30
Speaker 1: with a wistful expression on his face. He had long
00:23:36
Speaker 1: blue hair that hung over his shoulders in gentle waves,
00:23:42
Speaker 1: and the shape of them reminded Shamrock of the sea.
00:23:48
Speaker 1: The fairy sparkling blue wings were covered in raindrop shaped sequins.
00:23:57
Speaker 1: Shamrock walked over to the fair and sat at his side.
00:24:03
Speaker 1: The blue fairy looked at the leprechorn, smiled and said hi. Hi.
00:24:14
Speaker 1: Shamrock replied, He introduced himself and said, this is a
00:24:20
Speaker 1: lovely lagoon and the water looks very inviting. The fairy
00:24:27
Speaker 1: nodded in agreement. He said his name was River, and
00:24:32
Speaker 1: he loved looking at the calm water of the lagoon.
00:24:37
Speaker 1: He also loved looking at the meandering streams that ran
00:24:42
Speaker 1: through the forest and the waterfalls that cascaded over the rocks.
00:24:49
Speaker 1: He said that looking at water always made him feel
00:24:55
Speaker 1: so peaceful. A dreamy look came into the fairy's blue eyes,
00:25:03
Speaker 1: and he said, I've heard of a far away place
00:25:10
Speaker 1: called the ocean. It sounds amazing. I'd love to visit
00:25:18
Speaker 1: it one day, but I don't know how to get there. Ah.
00:25:27
Speaker 1: He sighed softly and turned his gaze back to the water.
00:25:35
Speaker 1: Shamrock knew how he could help the fairy. He took
00:25:40
Speaker 1: out his flute, showed it to River, and said, I
00:25:45
Speaker 1: once met a kind mermaid who lives in the ocean.
00:25:52
Speaker 1: She said that if I ever needed her help, all
00:25:56
Speaker 1: I had to do was play a certain tune on
00:25:59
Speaker 1: my feet and she would appear. If it's okay with you,
00:26:06
Speaker 1: I can play that tune now, and when she appears,
00:26:10
Speaker 1: I can ask her to show you the way to
00:26:13
Speaker 1: the ocean. The fairy's little eyes grew wide in a
00:26:20
Speaker 1: mixture of delight and astonishment. You would do that for me,
00:26:32
Speaker 1: of course, Shamrock replied. He put the flute to his
00:26:38
Speaker 1: mouth and played the special tune to summon his mermaid friend.
00:26:45
Speaker 1: A few moments later, a beautiful mermaid magically appeared in
00:26:52
Speaker 1: the lagoon. She had the same blue, wavy hair as River.
00:27:01
Speaker 1: Shamrock said hello to his friend and explained about River's
00:27:06
Speaker 1: wish to see the ocean. The mermaid smiled kindly at River,
00:27:14
Speaker 1: held out her hand and said, I had magically transport
00:27:22
Speaker 1: you to the ocean in a second. Can you swim?
00:27:31
Speaker 1: River nodded eagerly and said he was a good swimmer
00:27:37
Speaker 1: and could even swim under water. He put his little
00:27:42
Speaker 1: hand into the mermaid's There was a flash of blue light,
00:27:48
Speaker 1: and the mermaid and the fairy vanished. A gold coin
00:27:55
Speaker 1: popped out of the water and landed on SHAMROCK's lap.
00:28:01
Speaker 1: A faint call of the fairies thank you, echoed around
00:28:08
Speaker 1: the lagoon. Shamrock put the coin with the others. He yawned.
00:28:17
Speaker 1: He was very sleepy, but something told him his help
00:28:23
Speaker 1: was still needed. He left the lagoon and went on
00:28:29
Speaker 1: his way. He met an indigo colored fairy next, who
00:28:36
Speaker 1: was called Lavender. Her wings were covered in tiny purple flowers,
00:28:43
Speaker 1: and a soothing scent drifted from them whenever she flapped
00:28:49
Speaker 1: her wings. After talking to the fairy, Shamrock discovered she
00:28:56
Speaker 1: was having trouble falling asleep at night. Lavender explained, every
00:29:04
Speaker 1: time I settled down in my bed, lots of thoughts
00:29:10
Speaker 1: tumble into my head and whirl around trying to get
00:29:15
Speaker 1: my attention. I can't seem to get rid of them.
00:29:20
Speaker 1: Shamrock had also had trouble falling asleep in the past,
00:29:25
Speaker 1: and he knew of a way to get rid of
00:29:28
Speaker 1: the bothersome thoughts. He said to the tired fairy, can
00:29:35
Speaker 1: you imagine your thoughts as tiny feathers that'll float in
00:29:40
Speaker 1: front of you. Lavender closed her eyes and scrunched up
00:29:47
Speaker 1: her face. She stayed like that for a few moments,
00:29:52
Speaker 1: then opened her eyes and sighed. She said she couldn't
00:29:59
Speaker 1: imagine the feather at all. Let me help you, Shamrock said.
00:30:08
Speaker 1: He played a magical tune on his flute, and pale,
00:30:13
Speaker 1: purple feathers appeared in front of the fairy. The feathers
00:30:19
Speaker 1: bobbed gently in the air. Shamrock told Lavender to take
00:30:27
Speaker 1: some deep breaths and gently blow on the feathers, he said,
00:30:35
Speaker 1: Imagine the feathers are your thoughts, and with every deep
00:30:41
Speaker 1: breath you take and release, you're blowing the thoughts further
00:30:48
Speaker 1: and further away, and soon you won't be able to
00:30:53
Speaker 1: see them anymore. Lavender gazed softly at the feathers. She
00:31:02
Speaker 1: took a deep breath and slowly let it out. The
00:31:08
Speaker 1: feathers began to move away from her. She took some
00:31:14
Speaker 1: more deep breath and concentrated on the feeling of slowly
00:31:18
Speaker 1: letting her breath out, over and over again. She breathed
00:31:25
Speaker 1: slowly in and then out, and soon the feathers drifted
00:31:32
Speaker 1: so far away that they couldn't be seen any longer.
00:31:39
Speaker 1: Lavender smiled softly and said she felt so very relaxed
00:31:44
Speaker 1: and so very very sleepy. She settled down on the
00:31:50
Speaker 1: soft grass and smiled happily. A gold coin floated from
00:31:59
Speaker 1: the fairies hand and over to Shamrock. She gave him
00:32:04
Speaker 1: a tired thank you, and then fell asleep. SHAMROCK's eyes
00:32:13
Speaker 1: closed a little and a yawn escaped from him. He
00:32:19
Speaker 1: was sleepy too, but he still had a feeling that
00:32:24
Speaker 1: someone else needed his help. He continued walking through the
00:32:30
Speaker 1: forest the sun moved towards the horizon and the sky
00:32:36
Speaker 1: grew a little darker. Shamrock walked through a clearing and
00:32:43
Speaker 1: noticed a fairy sitting on a tuft of grass. She
00:32:48
Speaker 1: was wearing a dark purple dress that was dotted in
00:32:52
Speaker 1: shiny star shaped sequins. Her ears were adorned with silver
00:32:58
Speaker 1: star ear rings, and her silver wings twinkled brightly under
00:33:04
Speaker 1: the darkening sky. The fairy looked SHAMROCK's way, smiled, and
00:33:12
Speaker 1: invited him to sit down with her and stargaze for
00:33:16
Speaker 1: a while. Shamrock smiled back and sat next to the fairy.
00:33:24
Speaker 1: They exchanged names, and he discovered her name was Violet,
00:33:29
Speaker 1: and every night she would look at the stars and
00:33:33
Speaker 1: get lost in their beauty. Violet said, I often wonder
00:33:41
Speaker 1: what the stars would look like if they could dance,
00:33:46
Speaker 1: and what they would sound like if they could sing.
00:33:50
Speaker 1: She laughed softly. But that's impossible, isn't it. Shamrock said,
00:33:59
Speaker 1: anything was possible if you believed in magic. He explained
00:34:04
Speaker 1: about his flute and then began to play a gentle
00:34:08
Speaker 1: tune on it. The soft sound drifted up towards the
00:34:14
Speaker 1: star studded sky. The leprecorn continued to play the magical tune,
00:34:22
Speaker 1: and very soon something wonderful happened. The twinkling stars stretched
00:34:31
Speaker 1: out their sparkling arms and legs, gave them a little shake,
00:34:38
Speaker 1: and then began to slowly dance across the moonlit sky.
00:34:45
Speaker 1: Effortlessly and gracefully. They glided this way and that. The
00:34:53
Speaker 1: stars started to sing a light, joyful song. They sang
00:34:59
Speaker 1: about the beauty of the earth below them, and all
00:35:03
Speaker 1: the wonderful beings who lived in the forests, the oceans,
00:35:08
Speaker 1: and the mountains. The little purple fairy at SHAMROCK's side
00:35:17
Speaker 1: put her hands over her heart and gazed at the
00:35:21
Speaker 1: stars in wonder and love. She swayed gently to the
00:35:27
Speaker 1: soothing song. After a few mesmerizing minutes, the stars stopped
00:35:35
Speaker 1: singing and returned to their original positions in the sky.
00:35:40
Speaker 1: They twinkled brightly and became still. Shamrock lowered his flute
00:35:50
Speaker 1: and sent a silent thank you to the stars. Violet said,
00:35:58
Speaker 1: I don't know how you made that happen, but it
00:36:03
Speaker 1: was amazing. It's something I will never forget. Please take
00:36:11
Speaker 1: this gold coin as my way of saying thank you.
00:36:17
Speaker 1: She gave him a coin and then lay down beneath
00:36:22
Speaker 1: the stars and fell asleep. Shamrock put the coin with
00:36:30
Speaker 1: the others. He had seven of them now, and he
00:36:34
Speaker 1: wasn't sure what to do with them. He knew he
00:36:38
Speaker 1: didn't want to keep the wishes for himself. He wanted
00:36:42
Speaker 1: to share them with the world. But how would he
00:36:46
Speaker 1: do that. He walked on a little further and wandered
00:36:52
Speaker 1: into the meadow. He let his thoughts slowly drift wherever
00:36:58
Speaker 1: they wanted to. Out of nowhere, a wonderful idea popped
00:37:04
Speaker 1: into his mind, as if by magic. He stopped right
00:37:10
Speaker 1: where he was and played a tune on his magical flute.
00:37:15
Speaker 1: A large pot appeared in front of him. He placed
00:37:21
Speaker 1: the seven gold coins into the pot and played another tune.
00:37:30
Speaker 1: Out of the pot arose a beautiful rainbow in seven colors.
00:37:36
Speaker 1: Each color reminded him of the kind fairies who had
00:37:41
Speaker 1: given him a wish. The rainbow grew bigger and bigger
00:37:48
Speaker 1: an arch across the night sky. The colors of the
00:37:53
Speaker 1: rainbow glowed brightly, as if made out of stars. Shamrock
00:38:01
Speaker 1: used his flute for the last time that day and
00:38:06
Speaker 1: sent magical wishes into the rainbow. He knew that any
00:38:12
Speaker 1: one who made a wish upon the rainbow would have
00:38:16
Speaker 1: their wish granted. Finally, it was time for the sleepy
00:38:24
Speaker 1: Leprecorn to rest. He settled down on the grass and
00:38:30
Speaker 1: gazed up at the shimmering rainbow. The rainbow began to
00:38:37
Speaker 1: fade away, for the Leprecorn knew it would return over
00:38:44
Speaker 1: and over again, and everyone around the world who saw
00:38:50
Speaker 1: the rainbow would get to wish upon it.
