Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Coco Sleep, a podcast of

00:00:15

Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime

00:00:20

Speaker 1: a dream. I really hope you don't hear my tummy

00:00:24

Speaker 1: rumble during this story. All the descriptions of the delicious

00:00:29

Speaker 1: food loved by various animals are very tantalizing and extremely tempting.

00:00:35

Speaker 1: Tonight we travel back to a far away land and

00:00:38

Speaker 1: meet Littlefoot and Snowbell again. In this story, we'll hear

00:00:43

Speaker 1: how Snowbell makes a delicious plate of scrumptious spaghetti for

00:00:46

Speaker 1: her friend. Littlefoot has never eaten spaghetti before and thinks

00:00:52

Speaker 1: it's the tastiest food ever. He decides everyone should know

00:00:58

Speaker 1: how wonderful spaghetti, and with a container full of the

00:01:02

Speaker 1: yummy pasta, he sets off on an adventure, an adventure

00:01:07

Speaker 1: that ends in the most delightful of ways. So lie

00:01:12

Speaker 1: back in your bed and give your fingers and toes

00:01:15

Speaker 1: a little wiggle until they want to settle. Close your

00:01:20

Speaker 1: eyes and relax your face, gently closing your mouth and

00:01:27

Speaker 1: letting your tongue relax down behind your teeth. Take a

00:01:32

Speaker 1: deep breath in and then let it out as you

00:01:37

Speaker 1: relax further down into your bed. This is The Yetti

00:01:43

Speaker 1: Who Loved Spaghetti by Jillian Rogerson. Snowflakes fell softly on

00:01:57

Speaker 1: a young yetti as he walked through a snow covered forest.

00:02:01

Speaker 1: The Yetti was called Littlefort, and he was on his

00:02:05

Speaker 1: way to meet his best friend, snow Bell. She was

00:02:09

Speaker 1: a kind hearted snow bear, and they'd met a few

00:02:12

Speaker 1: weeks ago and had become the very best of friends.

00:02:16

Speaker 1: Snow Bell had invited Littlefoot to a market that was

00:02:19

Speaker 1: being held near her village. Littlefoot lived in the caves

00:02:23

Speaker 1: high up in the mountains with his family and had

00:02:27

Speaker 1: never been to a market before. He didn't even know

00:02:31

Speaker 1: what a market was, But being a curious yeti, he

00:02:35

Speaker 1: had said yes straightway to Snowbell's invitation. She had given

00:02:40

Speaker 1: him directions to the market and said she'd meet him

00:02:43

Speaker 1: outside the candyfloss store there. Littlefoot did know what candyfloss

00:02:49

Speaker 1: was because snow Bell had brought some with her when

00:02:52

Speaker 1: she'd visited Littlefoot's home. He had loved how the pink,

00:02:56

Speaker 1: sticky floss had melted in his mouth like magic yum.

00:03:02

Speaker 1: Littlefurt had brought some pocket money with him to buy

00:03:05

Speaker 1: some treats for his family. He knew candyfloss would be

00:03:10

Speaker 1: one of those treats. The young Yetti continued walking towards

00:03:15

Speaker 1: the market. He went through a snowy glade and headed

00:03:20

Speaker 1: left when he heard the sound of a babbling river.

00:03:23

Speaker 1: He carried on until he came to a wooden bridge

00:03:26

Speaker 1: that Snowbell had told him about. He crossed over it

00:03:30

Speaker 1: and carried on walking. Soon he heard the happy sound

00:03:35

Speaker 1: of chatter drifting towards him on a cool breeze. He

00:03:41

Speaker 1: got a whiff of something delicious too. He thought he

00:03:46

Speaker 1: must be getting closer to the market, because if there

00:03:49

Speaker 1: was candy floss for sale, perhaps there was other food too.

00:03:55

Speaker 1: A few minutes later, Littlefort arrived at the market and

00:03:59

Speaker 1: was a mad to see lots of tables lined up

00:04:03

Speaker 1: opposite each other. Each table was overflowing with items for sale.

00:04:10

Speaker 1: Animals of the forest wandered amongst the stalls, looking for

00:04:14

Speaker 1: things to buy. Littlefort noticed a line of food stalls.

00:04:20

Speaker 1: Further along, a little white snow bear was jumping up

00:04:24

Speaker 1: and down and waving at him. It was Snowbell. Littlefot

00:04:29

Speaker 1: ran over to her. They grinned at each other and

00:04:32

Speaker 1: said hello. Without wasting any time. Snow Bell took Littlefort's

00:04:39

Speaker 1: hand in hers and led him through the market. She

00:04:43

Speaker 1: told him about the items on the tables and asked

00:04:46

Speaker 1: if he wanted to buy anything. There was so much

00:04:51

Speaker 1: choice that Littlefoot felt somewhat bewildered by it all. Seeing

00:04:58

Speaker 1: his confused expres Russian, Snowbell said, why don't we have

00:05:04

Speaker 1: some candyfloss first, let's sit down for a while. That

00:05:09

Speaker 1: sounded like an excellent plan to Littlefoot. He said he

00:05:13

Speaker 1: would pay for the candyfloss. He'd already spotted the stool

00:05:18

Speaker 1: where the deliciously sticky treat was being sold, and he

00:05:22

Speaker 1: raced over to it. He bought two portions and then

00:05:27

Speaker 1: ran back to snow Bell, who was sitting on a

00:05:29

Speaker 1: bench near a toy stall. The two friends tucked into

00:05:35

Speaker 1: the candyfloss and enjoyed it very much. The best part

00:05:41

Speaker 1: was when they got to lick the sticky bits off

00:05:43

Speaker 1: their paws. Snowbell made sure her paws were clean before

00:05:49

Speaker 1: reaching into her bag and pulling out a small wooden

00:05:54

Speaker 1: circle for Littlefoot. She gave it to him and said,

00:05:59

Speaker 1: I've bought this for you. It's a yo yo. I've

00:06:03

Speaker 1: got one just like it at home. Littleford had never

00:06:08

Speaker 1: seen a yo yo before and asked his friend what

00:06:11

Speaker 1: he should do with it. Snowbell showed him and he

00:06:15

Speaker 1: soon got the hang of it. He had lots of

00:06:19

Speaker 1: fun making the little wheel go up and down the string.

00:06:24

Speaker 1: He thanked snow Bell, she was such a kind friend.

00:06:29

Speaker 1: Snowbell asked if he was ready to look at the

00:06:32

Speaker 1: rest of the market stores. Littlefort said he was and

00:06:37

Speaker 1: asked where they should start. Snowbell pulled a piece of

00:06:43

Speaker 1: paper from her bag and explained it was a shopping

00:06:47

Speaker 1: list from her mum and there were a few items

00:06:50

Speaker 1: she needed to buy, and if Littlefoot didn't mind, could

00:06:55

Speaker 1: they get those first. The little Yetti didn't mind at

00:07:00

Speaker 1: all and walked with Snowbell over to a stall that

00:07:04

Speaker 1: sold something called pasta. Snowbell asked the penguin behind the

00:07:10

Speaker 1: table for a large packet of spaghetti. She looked at Littlefoot, smiled,

00:07:18

Speaker 1: and then asked the penguin for two packets. The penguin

00:07:22

Speaker 1: took two packets from the front of his table and

00:07:25

Speaker 1: handed them to the little Snowbar. Snowbell paid and handed

00:07:30

Speaker 1: one of the packets to her Yetti friend. Before Littlefort

00:07:35

Speaker 1: could ask what spaghetti was, Snowbell moved on to the

00:07:39

Speaker 1: next door to buy something else from her shopping list.

00:07:44

Speaker 1: Littlefoot tried to remember to ask what the spaghetti was,

00:07:48

Speaker 1: but he was having so much fun with his friend

00:07:51

Speaker 1: that he totally forgot. It was only when he got

00:07:55

Speaker 1: home later and put the strange item on the kitchen

00:07:59

Speaker 1: table that he realized he'd forgotten to ask Snowbell what

00:08:03

Speaker 1: spaghetti was and what he was supposed to do with it.

00:08:09

Speaker 1: He asked his family to help, but they had no

00:08:12

Speaker 1: idea either, because they'd never seen spaghetti before. He opened

00:08:18

Speaker 1: the packet and took some of the long, thin sticks out.

00:08:23

Speaker 1: Everyone looked closer at them. His grandfather thought it might

00:08:30

Speaker 1: be a plant, and perhaps they should put it in

00:08:33

Speaker 1: the soil and see if it grew into a spaghetti tree.

00:08:38

Speaker 1: His mother thought it could be food, so they all

00:08:43

Speaker 1: took a piece of spaghetti and nibbled on the end

00:08:46

Speaker 1: of the peculiar thin sticks. Little footpalled face, so did

00:08:52

Speaker 1: everyone else. It was very dry and far too crunchy.

00:08:59

Speaker 1: It most definitely wasn't food. Littlefoot said, perhaps it's a toy.

00:09:09

Speaker 1: He tipped some of the sticks onto the table and

00:09:13

Speaker 1: rolled them back and forth with his paw. If it

00:09:17

Speaker 1: was a toy, it wasn't a very fun one. The

00:09:22

Speaker 1: little Yetti was curious about the strange sounding spaghetti and

00:09:27

Speaker 1: just had to know what it was. The best way

00:09:31

Speaker 1: to find out was to ask Snowbell. He put the

00:09:37

Speaker 1: packet of spaghetti in his backpack, dashed out of the door,

00:09:42

Speaker 1: and ran over to Snowbell's house. When she opened the

00:09:47

Speaker 1: door to him, Snowbell was delighted to see Littlefoot again

00:09:51

Speaker 1: so soon and gave him a big smile. When he

00:09:56

Speaker 1: explained why he was there, Snowbell put her paws over

00:10:00

Speaker 1: her mouth in surprise. She lowered her paws and said, oh, Littlefoot,

00:10:07

Speaker 1: I'm so very sorry. I keep forgetting we live in

00:10:12

Speaker 1: such different places. I should have told you what spaghetti is.

00:10:17

Speaker 1: It's food, and it's very delicious. Little Foot shook his

00:10:22

Speaker 1: head and said it couldn't be food because when he'd

00:10:27

Speaker 1: tried it, it wasn't delicious. He pulled the packet from

00:10:32

Speaker 1: his backpack and gave it back to her. Snowbell said,

00:10:39

Speaker 1: how did you cook it? Littlefoot frowned, cook it? We

00:10:45

Speaker 1: didn't cook it at all? Is that what you're supposed

00:10:49

Speaker 1: to do? Snowbell smiled at her friend and invited him

00:10:53

Speaker 1: into the house. She told him he was in for

00:10:57

Speaker 1: an amazing treat. Littlefort sat at the kitchen table and

00:11:03

Speaker 1: watched closely as his friend boiled a portion of spaghetti

00:11:08

Speaker 1: in a big pan of water. Whilst it was cooking,

00:11:14

Speaker 1: she whipped up a tomato sauce. The meal was soon ready.

00:11:20

Speaker 1: Snow Bell placed a steaming plate of cooked spaghetti in

00:11:25

Speaker 1: front of Littlefoot and topped it with a tangy tomato sauce.

00:11:30

Speaker 1: She told him to tuck in. Littlefort put a small

00:11:35

Speaker 1: amount of spaghetti in his mouth. Time slowed down as

00:11:42

Speaker 1: the scrumptious taste of the spaghetti danced across the yetty's tongue.

00:11:49

Speaker 1: He never tasted anything so utterly, utterly yummy in all

00:11:57

Speaker 1: his life. Without saying a word and without taking his

00:12:03

Speaker 1: attention off his plate, Littlefoot devoured the rest of the meal,

00:12:09

Speaker 1: and when he'd finished, he picked the plate up and

00:12:12

Speaker 1: licked it clean. He put the plate down and rested

00:12:18

Speaker 1: his paws on his full tummy and sighed happily. The

00:12:24

Speaker 1: little Yetti loved spaghetti. He was sure his family would

00:12:30

Speaker 1: love it too, so he asked Snowball to show him

00:12:34

Speaker 1: how to cook it. She made an extra large portion

00:12:38

Speaker 1: and when it was ready, she put the hot food

00:12:41

Speaker 1: in a special container so it would stay warm all

00:12:45

Speaker 1: the way back to Littlefoot's house. Littlefoot thanked Snowbar and

00:12:52

Speaker 1: said he was so happy to have her as a friend.

00:12:56

Speaker 1: Snowbell said she was happy to have him as a

00:12:59

Speaker 1: friend too. They say good bye, and Littlefoot ran through

00:13:05

Speaker 1: the snow as fast as he could back to his

00:13:08

Speaker 1: cave in the mountains. As soon as he got home,

00:13:13

Speaker 1: he called out his family and told them to come

00:13:16

Speaker 1: into the kitchen. He spooned some of the warm spaghetti

00:13:21

Speaker 1: into bowls and put the bowls on the table. It

00:13:26

Speaker 1: smelled so lovely that he put some more in a

00:13:29

Speaker 1: bowl for himself too. The Yetti family fell silent as

00:13:35

Speaker 1: they ate the tasty meal. Everyone loved the spaghetti and

00:13:41

Speaker 1: said they would have it over and over again. Littlefoot

00:13:47

Speaker 1: looked at his empty bowl and frowned. His grandfather knew

00:13:52

Speaker 1: that expression well and asked if something was wrong the

00:13:57

Speaker 1: little YETI said, we didn't know about spaghetti until to day,

00:14:04

Speaker 1: and what if other animals don't know about it either.

00:14:08

Speaker 1: I want every one to know how delicious it is.

00:14:13

Speaker 1: Would it be okay if I took some outside? So

00:14:16

Speaker 1: I can give it to the animals who haven't tasted

00:14:18

Speaker 1: it yet. I don't want any one to miss out

00:14:22

Speaker 1: on such lovely food. His family smiled at the kind

00:14:27

Speaker 1: yetty and said that was a wonderful IDEA littlefoote had

00:14:34

Speaker 1: plenty of spaghetti left in the container snow Bell had

00:14:37

Speaker 1: given him, so he left the family cave and set

00:14:41

Speaker 1: off in the direction of his neighbor's homes. He walked

00:14:46

Speaker 1: through the snow and came to a cozy cave where

00:14:50

Speaker 1: a grizzly bear called Gerald lived. Gerald was sitting at

00:14:54

Speaker 1: a table outside his cave and eating something from a plate.

00:15:00

Speaker 1: Littlefoot said hello and asked the bear if he'd ever

00:15:04

Speaker 1: had spaghetti before. Gerald hadn't, so the little Yetti happily

00:15:10

Speaker 1: gave him a portion from the container. Gerald tasted the

00:15:16

Speaker 1: hot pasta and said it was lovely, but he preferred

00:15:20

Speaker 1: something else. He pointed to his plate and said, bears

00:15:26

Speaker 1: love eating poached pears, especially when they're covered in yummy,

00:15:31

Speaker 1: runny honey. He gave a slice of poached pear to Littlefoot.

00:15:38

Speaker 1: Littlefoot tried it and thought the poach pear was scrumptious,

00:15:43

Speaker 1: but the little Yetti loved spaghetti more He thanked the

00:15:50

Speaker 1: grizzly bear for the piece of poached pear and went

00:15:52

Speaker 1: on his way. The young Yetti continued walking through the

00:15:58

Speaker 1: snow and till he came to a forest where two

00:16:02

Speaker 1: apes lived in a large tree house. Littlefort had met

00:16:07

Speaker 1: them before and knew their names were Angela and Amy.

00:16:13

Speaker 1: He stopped beneath their house and called out a hello

00:16:17

Speaker 1: to see if they were at home. Two friendly faces

00:16:22

Speaker 1: peeped out from the tree house and asked him to

00:16:25

Speaker 1: come up. Little Ford climbed the tree and went inside

00:16:31

Speaker 1: the cozy house. Angela and Amy were sitting next to

00:16:35

Speaker 1: a window with bowls on their laps. The yetty sat

00:16:39

Speaker 1: next to them and told them about his trip to

00:16:42

Speaker 1: the market with his friend and how she'd given him

00:16:45

Speaker 1: some yummy spaghetti. He asked if they had ever tried it.

00:16:51

Speaker 1: Angela said I haven't, but I'd love to try some

00:16:56

Speaker 1: one day. Amy said she would too. Littlefort smiled and

00:17:02

Speaker 1: said they could try some right away. He took some

00:17:06

Speaker 1: spaghetti out of the container and gave it to the apes.

00:17:11

Speaker 1: Angela and Amy ate some and said it was very tasty,

00:17:15

Speaker 1: but they much preferred something else. Amy pointed to the

00:17:19

Speaker 1: bowl on her lap and said, we apes love eating grapes,

00:17:27

Speaker 1: especially when they've been picked fresh from the vine. Would

00:17:30

Speaker 1: you like to try some? Little fitt took a couple

00:17:35

Speaker 1: of grapes and popped them into his mouth. They were

00:17:38

Speaker 1: soft and sweet and lovely to eat. But even though

00:17:42

Speaker 1: littlefoot liked the grapes, he still loved spaghetti more. He

00:17:48

Speaker 1: stayed a little longer with the apes and then went

00:17:51

Speaker 1: on his way. Littlefot hadn't got far when a colorful

00:17:55

Speaker 1: parrot swooped down from the sky and landed on a

00:17:58

Speaker 1: rock in front of him. She said, politely, excuse me

00:18:04

Speaker 1: for stopping you, but I couldn't help overhearing the conversation

00:18:09

Speaker 1: you had with the apes. I tried spaghetti once when

00:18:12

Speaker 1: I flew to Italy. I very much enjoyed it. But

00:18:16

Speaker 1: I must say that as a parrot, I much prefer

00:18:20

Speaker 1: buttered carrot. I don't suppose you'd like to try one,

00:18:24

Speaker 1: would you. I've got a couple of carrots tucked under

00:18:27

Speaker 1: my wing. I never leave home without them. Littlefot said yes,

00:18:34

Speaker 1: he would like to try a buttered carrot, and thanked

00:18:37

Speaker 1: the parrot for her kind offer. The buttered carrot was

00:18:42

Speaker 1: crunchy with just the right mixture of sweet and salty.

00:18:50

Speaker 1: Even though Littlefoot enjoyed it very much, he still loves

00:18:54

Speaker 1: spaghetti more. Little Fert thanked the parrot again and continued

00:18:59

Speaker 1: walking through the forest. Soon he left the snowy scene

00:19:04

Speaker 1: behind and walked across green fields that were surrounded by

00:19:09

Speaker 1: tall trees. Walking had made Littlefoot hungry, so he stopped

00:19:16

Speaker 1: at the side of a river and had a spaghetti snack. Yump,

00:19:21

Speaker 1: A small green frog jumped out of the river and

00:19:25

Speaker 1: sat at his side. The frog politely asked what the

00:19:30

Speaker 1: yettie was eating. Not only did Littlefoot tell him what

00:19:34

Speaker 1: he was eating, he offered the frog some too. The

00:19:38

Speaker 1: frog had a nibble and said it was nice, but

00:19:41

Speaker 1: he knew of something much tastier. He asked the yetty

00:19:46

Speaker 1: if he'd liked to go to his house, because his

00:19:49

Speaker 1: mother was making a very special treat that day. Littlefoth

00:19:54

Speaker 1: said he would love to. He quickly finished the rest

00:19:58

Speaker 1: of the spaghetti snack and then followed the frog away

00:20:02

Speaker 1: from the river. They arrived at a little cottage, and

00:20:06

Speaker 1: an older frog wearing an apron waved to them from

00:20:10

Speaker 1: the open door. She was holding a plate and told

00:20:15

Speaker 1: her son he was just in time. The small frog

00:20:19

Speaker 1: asked if his new friend could stay for the treat too.

00:20:25

Speaker 1: Of course, his mother replied, sit down at the picnic

00:20:30

Speaker 1: table and I'll cut you both a slice. A mouth

00:20:35

Speaker 1: watering aroama drifted from the plate, and Littlefoot wondered what

00:20:40

Speaker 1: was creating the delicious smell. The frog's mother placed a

00:20:46

Speaker 1: plate in front of Littlefoot. When Littleford asked what was

00:20:51

Speaker 1: on the plate, she said, it's a slice of chocolate log.

00:20:59

Speaker 1: Little foot was confused. He'd seen many logs in the forest,

00:21:04

Speaker 1: but never tried eating one before, and he never even

00:21:09

Speaker 1: heard of chocolate. He gave the plate a suspicious look.

00:21:15

Speaker 1: The mother frog smiled kindly and said, we frogs love

00:21:20

Speaker 1: chocolate logs. Why don't you try a little bit and

00:21:24

Speaker 1: see what you think. Little Foot put a small piece

00:21:29

Speaker 1: of chocolate log into his mouth. Oh it was lovely.

00:21:35

Speaker 1: He ate a larger piece. Oh, it was very lovely.

00:21:43

Speaker 1: He ate a bit more and closed his eyes because

00:21:47

Speaker 1: he was so very scrumptious. He soon cleared his plate.

00:21:54

Speaker 1: Littlefort said he would let his family know about the

00:21:57

Speaker 1: amazing chocolate log because he knew they would like it

00:22:00

Speaker 1: as much as he did. With a big smile, the

00:22:05

Speaker 1: little frog said, do you like chocolate log more than spaghetti.

00:22:13

Speaker 1: Littlefoot thought about the question and said, I do like

00:22:18

Speaker 1: the chocolate log, but I love spaghetti more. He thanked

00:22:24

Speaker 1: the frogs and went on his way through the forest.

00:22:28

Speaker 1: He traveled and headed towards a beach he'd been to

00:22:31

Speaker 1: the previous year with his family. Littlefort arrived at the

00:22:36

Speaker 1: beach and stood on the soft, warm sand. He watched

00:22:41

Speaker 1: the sea moving back and forth. He closed his eyes

00:22:46

Speaker 1: and listened to the soothing sound of the waves. In

00:22:52

Speaker 1: the distance, he heard a munching noise. He opened his

00:22:57

Speaker 1: eyes and wondered who was making sound. Looking along the beach,

00:23:04

Speaker 1: he saw a pink crab sitting on a rock eating something.

00:23:10

Speaker 1: Littlefoot walked over to the crab and said hello to her.

00:23:15

Speaker 1: The crab waved a stick in the air and said, hi, there,

00:23:20

Speaker 1: would you like one of these to eat? I've got

00:23:22

Speaker 1: plenty the YETI thanked the crab, but said he was

00:23:27

Speaker 1: too full. He asked the crab why she was eating sticks?

00:23:32

Speaker 1: Was it something crabs did. She giggled and said no,

00:23:38

Speaker 1: the stick was empty because she'd eaten all the food

00:23:42

Speaker 1: that had been on the stick. She reached into a

00:23:45

Speaker 1: bag at her side and pulled out another stick, but

00:23:49

Speaker 1: that one had chunks of fruit on it. She said,

00:23:54

Speaker 1: crabs love eating fruit kebabs. She pointed to the pieces

00:23:59

Speaker 1: of stre srawberries, melons, pears, apples, and cherries and said

00:24:05

Speaker 1: it was delicious and very easy to make. Littlefort said

00:24:12

Speaker 1: it did look delicious and he would remember to make

00:24:15

Speaker 1: the fruit kebabs another time. Fietti asked the crab if

00:24:20

Speaker 1: she'd liked to try the spaghetti. She said yes, and

00:24:24

Speaker 1: once she tasted it, she coicked her claws in delight

00:24:28

Speaker 1: and said it was lovely. But she added, I do

00:24:33

Speaker 1: prefer my fruit kebabs, but thank you for letting me

00:24:37

Speaker 1: try it. I love trying new foods, don't you. You

00:24:41

Speaker 1: never know what you're going to discover. Littlefort said, I've

00:24:46

Speaker 1: been trying lots of new food today, and it's been

00:24:50

Speaker 1: great fun. He told her about the grizzly bear and

00:24:56

Speaker 1: his poached pear, the apes and their fresh he picked grapes,

00:25:01

Speaker 1: the colorful parrot in her buttered carrot, the small green

00:25:06

Speaker 1: frog and his chocolate log. The pink crab said, what

00:25:12

Speaker 1: an adventure you've been on. Are you still on that adventure?

00:25:17

Speaker 1: Littlefort said he was thinking about the new things he tried,

00:25:24

Speaker 1: gave him an idea. He said goodbye to the crab

00:25:28

Speaker 1: and went on his way. He found many other animals

00:25:34

Speaker 1: who loved different kinds of food, some of them he'd

00:25:39

Speaker 1: never heard of before, but he still tried everything. Littlefort

00:25:45

Speaker 1: met a kangaroo who loved vegetable stew, a family of

00:25:50

Speaker 1: pigs who loved juicy figs, a cute butterfly who loved

00:25:56

Speaker 1: apple pie, three mice who loved sticky rice, a mole

00:26:03

Speaker 1: who loved mashed potato casserole, a ladybird who loved lemon curd,

00:26:11

Speaker 1: and some baboons who adored macaroons. The new food he

00:26:17

Speaker 1: tried was tasty, but the little Yetti still loved spaghetti.

00:26:24

Speaker 1: Littlefoote told all the animals he'd met that day about

00:26:28

Speaker 1: his idea. They agreed it was a great one and

00:26:32

Speaker 1: said they would happily take part in his plan. The

00:26:38

Speaker 1: little Yeti rushed home and told his family about his

00:26:42

Speaker 1: big plan too. They agreed to help and quickly got

00:26:48

Speaker 1: to work putting everything in place. They collected as many

00:26:55

Speaker 1: tables as they could from their friends and put them

00:26:58

Speaker 1: on the snowy ground at the bottom of the mountain.

00:27:02

Speaker 1: Strings of twinkling fairy lights were hung throughout the trees,

00:27:08

Speaker 1: and lanterns were placed on the ends of the tables.

00:27:12

Speaker 1: Special picnic blankets were placed over the snowy ground. They

00:27:18

Speaker 1: were magical blankets and would keep their visitors warm all

00:27:22

Speaker 1: night long. Littlefoot ran over to Snowbell's home and asked

00:27:30

Speaker 1: her to come to his home later and to bring

00:27:32

Speaker 1: her family too. Before she could ask why, he raced away.

00:27:40

Speaker 1: All the animals Littlefoot had met earlier arrived with baskets, tubs,

00:27:46

Speaker 1: and arms full of food. They put everything on the

00:27:51

Speaker 1: tables and asked the little Yetti what they should do next.

00:27:57

Speaker 1: Littlefoot said he was waiting for his best friend to

00:28:01

Speaker 1: arrive and then everything could go ahead as planned. At

00:28:06

Speaker 1: that very moment, Snowbell and her family walked along the path.

00:28:12

Speaker 1: Snowbell asked what was going on. Littlefort smiled at his

00:28:17

Speaker 1: lovely friend and said, it's a party. Everyone's bought lots

00:28:24

Speaker 1: of different food to share. I've tried lots of new

00:28:28

Speaker 1: food to day and thought everyone else might want to

00:28:31

Speaker 1: as well. Snowbell said she hadn't brought any food with her.

00:28:39

Speaker 1: Littlefort took her hand in his and explained she didn't

00:28:44

Speaker 1: have to bring food because the party was also a

00:28:48

Speaker 1: thank you party for Snowbell because she was such a

00:28:51

Speaker 1: good friend. He led her over to a table where

00:28:57

Speaker 1: Gerald the Grizzly Bear was standing. The bear asked snow

00:29:02

Speaker 1: Bell if she'd ever tried poached pears before. Snow Bell

00:29:07

Speaker 1: said she hadn't, but that she loved to try some.

00:29:12

Speaker 1: Gerald smiled at her and put some extra yummy, runny

00:29:16

Speaker 1: honey on her poached pears. The party continued into the night.

00:29:24

Speaker 1: New foods were tried and new friendships were made. Littlefote

00:29:30

Speaker 1: continued to try new things too, but even though he

00:29:35

Speaker 1: liked many of them, the little Yetti still loved spaghetti

00:29:41

Speaker 1: more
