Speaker 1: Hi, and welcome back to Coco Sleep, a podcast of

00:00:15

Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime

00:00:21

Speaker 1: a dream. Have you ever heard of a country called

00:00:24

Speaker 1: Peru in South America? Maybe you've heard of a certain

00:00:30

Speaker 1: marmalade loving bear who came from there, or maybe you

00:00:34

Speaker 1: know something about the Amazon rainforest that covers part of

00:00:37

Speaker 1: the country. Okay, Well, besides Paddington, there are many exotic

00:00:43

Speaker 1: animals that live in Peru, and we're going to meet

00:00:46

Speaker 1: some wonderfully kind ones during our story tonight. Before we

00:00:51

Speaker 1: set off on our travels, though, let's relax into bed

00:00:55

Speaker 1: and clear our minds with some lovely, long, deep breaths.

00:01:02

Speaker 1: Wiggle your fingers and flex and point your feet, close

00:01:08

Speaker 1: your eyes, and snuggle down a little bit more. Once

00:01:12

Speaker 1: you're completely relaxed, we'll join Karma the Lama as she

00:01:18

Speaker 1: sets off on a walk towards the majestic snow capped

00:01:22

Speaker 1: mountains in the distance. On the way, she meets many

00:01:27

Speaker 1: kind animals and shares the wonderful gifts she's been given

00:01:31

Speaker 1: with them. When Karma climbs to the top of a mountain,

00:01:36

Speaker 1: she meets a very special animal who gives her some

00:01:39

Speaker 1: wise advice. This is Karma the Lama by Jillian Rogerson.

00:01:52

Speaker 1: One bright sunny morning in the mountain area of Peru,

00:01:57

Speaker 1: Karma the Lama woke up and smiled. She had a

00:02:02

Speaker 1: long stretch, got out of bed and opened the curtains.

00:02:07

Speaker 1: It was a beautiful day. The sun shone down on

00:02:12

Speaker 1: the grassy fields that surrounded her cozy cottage. In the distance,

00:02:19

Speaker 1: she saw the magnificent mountains that were topped with snow.

00:02:24

Speaker 1: Karma loved climbing the mountains, and it was the perfect

00:02:28

Speaker 1: day for such an adventure. Perhaps she would meet some

00:02:31

Speaker 1: friends along the way. She had her breakfast and then

00:02:35

Speaker 1: set off on her journey. The air was warm and

00:02:39

Speaker 1: fresh on her face, and the path in front of

00:02:42

Speaker 1: her was smooth and inviting. Karma's grandpa lived nearby. She

00:02:48

Speaker 1: wondered if he would like to go with her, so

00:02:50

Speaker 1: she stopped at his house. Her grandpa was sitting in

00:02:54

Speaker 1: a stripy deck chair in his garden when Karma arrived.

00:02:59

Speaker 1: He gave her a day cheery hello and asked if

00:03:01

Speaker 1: she wanted to sit with him for a while. Karma

00:03:05

Speaker 1: gave her grandpa a hug and sat next to him.

00:03:08

Speaker 1: She told him about her plans for the day and

00:03:10

Speaker 1: asked if he wanted to climb the mountains too. He

00:03:14

Speaker 1: settled back further in his chair and said, Oh, I

00:03:18

Speaker 1: do like climbing mountains, but today feels like a day

00:03:23

Speaker 1: of rest for me. I'm going to sit here, bask

00:03:28

Speaker 1: in the warmth of the sun and met my mind

00:03:31

Speaker 1: wonder wherever it wants to go. He glanced at the

00:03:36

Speaker 1: long grass on his lawn. A small sigh escaped from him,

00:03:41

Speaker 1: and he told his granddaughter his day of rest would

00:03:44

Speaker 1: have to begin after he'd moan the lawn. He chuckled

00:03:48

Speaker 1: and said the grass had grown so quickly lately, and

00:03:51

Speaker 1: the garden was starting to look like the Amazon jungle.

00:03:58

Speaker 1: Karma smiles kind at her grandpa and said, I will

00:04:03

Speaker 1: mow the lawn for you. I love the smell of

00:04:06

Speaker 1: freshly cut grass, especially on such a sunny day as this.

00:04:12

Speaker 1: You stay right where you are and I'll get you

00:04:14

Speaker 1: a cup of tea. Then I'll get the law mower out.

00:04:19

Speaker 1: Before her grandpa could say a word in protest, Karma

00:04:23

Speaker 1: leapt out of her chair and ran into her grandpa's house.

00:04:28

Speaker 1: She used his favorite cup and quickly made him a

00:04:32

Speaker 1: cup of grass tea. She took it outside and handed

00:04:36

Speaker 1: it to him. He smiled at her and said thank you.

00:04:41

Speaker 1: Karma collected the lawn mower from the shed and got

00:04:45

Speaker 1: to work. Going back and forth over the grass was

00:04:50

Speaker 1: a relaxing activity, and she hummed happily to herself. The

00:04:56

Speaker 1: pleasing scent of freshly cut grass made her relax even more,

00:05:02

Speaker 1: and the lawn was soon looking much better. There were

00:05:06

Speaker 1: a lot of grass clippings left on the lawn. Karma

00:05:11

Speaker 1: knew her grandpa saved some of them to make his

00:05:14

Speaker 1: favorite tea, and he usually gave the rest away to

00:05:17

Speaker 1: his neighbors. She looked over at her grandpa to ask

00:05:21

Speaker 1: what she should do with the clippings, but he was

00:05:24

Speaker 1: fast asleep in his deck chair with the empty cup

00:05:27

Speaker 1: of tea on the ground. Karma didn't want to disturb him, so,

00:05:34

Speaker 1: being as quiet as she could, she put the lawn

00:05:37

Speaker 1: mower away and collected the grass clippings. She put some

00:05:42

Speaker 1: into the special container her grandpa kept in the kitchen

00:05:46

Speaker 1: to make his tea, and the rest of the clippings

00:05:49

Speaker 1: went into a basket. Even though her grandpa was fast asleep,

00:05:56

Speaker 1: Karma gave him a wave goodbye. She continued on her journey.

00:06:02

Speaker 1: With the basket of grass clippings in her hands, she

00:06:06

Speaker 1: was certain someone would like them. It wasn't long before

00:06:11

Speaker 1: Karma found some one busy in their garden. It was Alma,

00:06:16

Speaker 1: the alpaca. She had been one of Grandpa's neighbors for

00:06:20

Speaker 1: a long time and knew Karma well. Alma was a

00:06:25

Speaker 1: keen gardener who was always busy doing something in her

00:06:29

Speaker 1: beautiful garden. Alma waved at Karma and asked how she was.

00:06:37

Speaker 1: Karma said she was good and held up the basket

00:06:40

Speaker 1: of grass clippings and told the alpaca where they had

00:06:43

Speaker 1: come from. She asked Alma if she had any use

00:06:47

Speaker 1: for them. Alma broke into a wide smile and said absolutely.

00:06:57

Speaker 1: I need to put some around the carrots and potatoes

00:07:00

Speaker 1: that I'm growing. It helps to keep the moisture in

00:07:03

Speaker 1: the soil. When Karma asked how much she would like,

00:07:10

Speaker 1: Alma inspected the basket and asked if she could possibly

00:07:14

Speaker 1: have all of it please. She had a lot of

00:07:18

Speaker 1: vegetables in her garden and the grass clippings would cover

00:07:21

Speaker 1: them all. Karma smiled and said of course she could

00:07:27

Speaker 1: have them all. Alma said thank you, and then started

00:07:32

Speaker 1: laughing as she ran her hand over her fluffy arm,

00:07:36

Speaker 1: which was covered in soft wool. She said, I don't

00:07:42

Speaker 1: suppose you know anyone who would like some of my wool.

00:07:46

Speaker 1: I've been using a new shampoo recently, and my wooly

00:07:50

Speaker 1: covering has grown quicker than ever before, and I have

00:07:54

Speaker 1: to keep cutting it. I've got a big pile of

00:07:57

Speaker 1: wool inside my house, and I don't know what to

00:08:00

Speaker 1: do with it. Karma said she didn't need any wool,

00:08:06

Speaker 1: but offered to take it with her in case she

00:08:08

Speaker 1: met anyone who would like it. Alma thanked the kind

00:08:15

Speaker 1: lama and swapped the grass clippings in her basket for

00:08:19

Speaker 1: a pile of her soft wool. Karma waved goodbye to

00:08:24

Speaker 1: the alpaca and went on her way. The lama walked

00:08:30

Speaker 1: towards a line of gray rocks that were surrounded by

00:08:33

Speaker 1: long swaying grass. A group of young chinchillas were playing

00:08:40

Speaker 1: outside the rocks, and their cheerful laughter filled the air.

00:08:45

Speaker 1: The mother chinchillas were resting nearby and watching their young

00:08:50

Speaker 1: at play. Karma walked over to the mothers and said hello.

00:08:56

Speaker 1: She held up her basket and asked if they would

00:08:59

Speaker 1: like any alpaca wool. One of the mothers clasped her

00:09:05

Speaker 1: hands together in delight and said, this is just what

00:09:10

Speaker 1: we need. Our little ones are growing so fast and

00:09:15

Speaker 1: they keep getting too big for their clothes. We're always

00:09:18

Speaker 1: making new ones for them. Not only that, some of

00:09:22

Speaker 1: them are starting school soon and we'll need to knit

00:09:26

Speaker 1: school jumpers for them. One of the other mothers added,

00:09:32

Speaker 1: don't forget about their winter clothes too. I've already started

00:09:37

Speaker 1: knitting some scarves and gloves for my children. And there's

00:09:41

Speaker 1: also the matter of our cousins arriving soon. She told

00:09:45

Speaker 1: Karma that because the chinchillas loved living by the rocks,

00:09:50

Speaker 1: they had invited their cousins to join them there too.

00:09:54

Speaker 1: They were due to arrive any day soon and there

00:09:58

Speaker 1: would be many more chin chiller children to knit for.

00:10:03

Speaker 1: Karma looked at the playing children. There were a lot

00:10:07

Speaker 1: of them. Karma moved the basket closer and said they

00:10:11

Speaker 1: could have all the wool. The chinchillas were delighted and

00:10:18

Speaker 1: thanked the kind Lama. They asked if they could give

00:10:22

Speaker 1: her something in return. No, thank you, Karma replied with

00:10:28

Speaker 1: a smile. One of the mothers laughed and said, I

00:10:35

Speaker 1: don't suppose you know anyone who needs a pile of straw.

00:10:40

Speaker 1: We've been cutting some down to make room for our

00:10:43

Speaker 1: cousins and their new homes. We don't need it for anything,

00:10:47

Speaker 1: and you're welcome to take it. Karma offered to take

00:10:50

Speaker 1: the straw in case she met anyone on her walk

00:10:53

Speaker 1: who might need it. She swapped the soft alpack of

00:10:57

Speaker 1: wool in her basket for a pile of golden straw.

00:11:02

Speaker 1: She waved goodbye to the chinchillas and continued on her way.

00:11:08

Speaker 1: The sun shone warmly on the lama's back, and birds

00:11:13

Speaker 1: sang sweetly from the treetops. Karma walked on, getting ever

00:11:20

Speaker 1: closer to the mountains. She walked through an orchard and

00:11:27

Speaker 1: saw a ladder resting against a tree that was ripe

00:11:30

Speaker 1: with red apples. A mountain goat was about to climb

00:11:35

Speaker 1: the ladder, but when he saw Karma, he wave and

00:11:39

Speaker 1: said hello. He asked where she was going on such

00:11:42

Speaker 1: a lovely day. Karma said she was heading towards the mountains.

00:11:50

Speaker 1: She held up the basket of straw and asked if

00:11:54

Speaker 1: he would like any of it. The mountain goat chuckled

00:11:58

Speaker 1: and said it was just what he needed. His orchard

00:12:02

Speaker 1: had produced a lot more fruit that year, and he'd

00:12:06

Speaker 1: run out of straw baskets to put it in. The

00:12:10

Speaker 1: goat peered closer at the basket and asked if he

00:12:14

Speaker 1: could have some please. Of course, Karma said, take as

00:12:20

Speaker 1: much as you like. The mountain goat asked Karma if

00:12:25

Speaker 1: she'd ever made any baskets before. When she said no,

00:12:31

Speaker 1: he offered to teach her the art of basket making.

00:12:35

Speaker 1: Karma said yes and thanked the goat for his kindness.

00:12:41

Speaker 1: The goat told her to sit under the shade of

00:12:43

Speaker 1: the apple tree. With lightning speed, he dashed up the

00:12:48

Speaker 1: ladder and picked a couple of ripe apples from the branches.

00:12:54

Speaker 1: He returned to the lama and gave her one of

00:12:57

Speaker 1: the apples bit into it. The apple was delicious and

00:13:05

Speaker 1: tasted of warm sunshine and refreshing rain. The mountain goat

00:13:12

Speaker 1: and the lama crunched on their apples and talked happily

00:13:17

Speaker 1: about one thing and another. When they had finished eating

00:13:22

Speaker 1: their apples, the goat showed Karma how to make a

00:13:25

Speaker 1: straw basket. It was a bit tricky at first, but

00:13:31

Speaker 1: Karma kept trying and she soon worked out how to

00:13:35

Speaker 1: bend the pieces of straw over each other. She held

00:13:40

Speaker 1: up her finished basket to show the goat. He was

00:13:45

Speaker 1: very impressed and said she needed some fruit to go

00:13:48

Speaker 1: inside the basket. Not only did he have apples in

00:13:54

Speaker 1: his orchard, but he had pears, oranges and lemons too.

00:14:02

Speaker 1: The goat led Karma through the orchards and together they

00:14:06

Speaker 1: collected enough fruit to fill the lama's basket. Karma looked

00:14:13

Speaker 1: upon the full basket. There was a lot of fruit,

00:14:17

Speaker 1: and she asked if he wanted some. No, you can

00:14:22

Speaker 1: have it all, he replied, as you can see, I

00:14:26

Speaker 1: have plenty. Karma looked at the remaining straw in the

00:14:31

Speaker 1: basket she had brought with her. She gave it to

00:14:35

Speaker 1: the mountain goat and said he could have all of

00:14:38

Speaker 1: the straw and the basket as well. The two friends

00:14:44

Speaker 1: said goodbye, and Karma continued on her way. The lama

00:14:50

Speaker 1: hummed happily to herself as she walked along with the

00:14:54

Speaker 1: new basket in her hand. She left the orchard behind

00:15:00

Speaker 1: and began walking along a pebbled path that led to

00:15:04

Speaker 1: the mountains. As she walked on, calmer looked towards the

00:15:11

Speaker 1: top of the mountains, She couldn't see the very top

00:15:15

Speaker 1: of them because a layer of thick white clouds was

00:15:21

Speaker 1: swirling around the mountains. It made the mountains look magical,

00:15:27

Speaker 1: as though an enchanted land lay above the clouds. She

00:15:35

Speaker 1: reached the foot of the nearest mountain and began her

00:15:39

Speaker 1: climb along the winding path that led upwards. Karma walked

00:15:46

Speaker 1: past some leafy trees and heard birds singing beautiful songs

00:15:51

Speaker 1: from the branches. She stopped at a tree and looked

00:15:56

Speaker 1: at the birds nestled inside it. She saw six umbrella

00:16:02

Speaker 1: birds perched on the branch. They were singing a soothing song.

00:16:10

Speaker 1: The distinctive crest of black feathers on their little heads

00:16:15

Speaker 1: looked like tiny umbrellas and made Karma smile. She had

00:16:20

Speaker 1: never seen any of the lovely umbrella birds before, but

00:16:25

Speaker 1: her grandpa had, and he told her all about them.

00:16:31

Speaker 1: The soft lullaby coming from the birds filled Karma's heart

00:16:37

Speaker 1: with joy. The umbrella birds finished their song and said

00:16:43

Speaker 1: hello to the Lama. Charma said they were wonderful singers

00:16:50

Speaker 1: and she had enjoyed listening to their song. She held

00:16:55

Speaker 1: up the basket of fruit and asked if they were

00:16:58

Speaker 1: like some the umbrella birds said they would love some fruit,

00:17:04

Speaker 1: because singing was very hungry work. Karma stayed with the

00:17:10

Speaker 1: birds for a while and chatted whilst they ate some

00:17:14

Speaker 1: of the scrumptious fruit. When they'd finished eating, the umbrella

00:17:20

Speaker 1: birds sang more songs for Karma. They taught her the words,

00:17:25

Speaker 1: but Karma couldn't remember them all, so she hummed along instead.

00:17:32

Speaker 1: After a while, Karma said goodbye to the birds and

00:17:37

Speaker 1: continued climbing the mountain, the basket of fruit secure in

00:17:42

Speaker 1: her hand. Up the winding path, she went, yetting closer

00:17:50

Speaker 1: to the clouds that hung low over the mountains like

00:17:55

Speaker 1: a fluffy white blanket. Bright kids bloomed in nooks and

00:18:02

Speaker 1: crannies in the mountain face, and she caught a hint

00:18:06

Speaker 1: of their flowery fragrance. Soon, a light mist touched her face,

00:18:15

Speaker 1: a gentle kiss from the clouds. Karma walked on and

00:18:21

Speaker 1: was enveloped lovingly by the pale clouds. She could still

00:18:27

Speaker 1: see the path beneath her feet and the rocky mountain

00:18:31

Speaker 1: at her side. Karma walked through the cloud forest. The

00:18:38

Speaker 1: warm mist settled softly on the lama's fir like a

00:18:44

Speaker 1: comforting blanket. Further along the path, the sun's rays broke

00:18:51

Speaker 1: through the clouds, and a pleasant warmth flowed through the lama.

00:18:58

Speaker 1: She carried on walking until she was completely out of

00:19:04

Speaker 1: the clouds. Karma the Lama walked around a bend in

00:19:10

Speaker 1: the past and came to the top of the mountain.

00:19:17

Speaker 1: The view before her was magnificent. Patches of fluffy clouds

00:19:24

Speaker 1: lay between the snow capped mountaintops. The tallest trees reached

00:19:31

Speaker 1: through the clouds and stretched their branches up towards the

00:19:36

Speaker 1: blue sky. Karma was on top of the world. She

00:19:44

Speaker 1: took some deep, relaxing breaths. The mountain air was fresh

00:19:53

Speaker 1: and clean. Peace and tranquility flowed effortlessly through her. Her

00:20:01

Speaker 1: voice at her side said, it's quite beautiful, isn't it.

00:20:07

Speaker 1: I see this view every day and I never grow

00:20:11

Speaker 1: tired of it. Karma looked away from the view and

00:20:17

Speaker 1: saw a little monkey by her side. It was a

00:20:21

Speaker 1: yellow tailed wooly monkey, and he was wearing an orange waistcoat.

00:20:29

Speaker 1: Carma knew the special monkeys lived in the mountains somewhere,

00:20:34

Speaker 1: but she'd never seen one, and neither had her grandpa.

00:20:39

Speaker 1: The monkey smiled and said his name was Marlowe. Karma

00:20:46

Speaker 1: introduced herself. She didn't know what yellow tailed wooly monkeys ate,

00:20:52

Speaker 1: so she offered him some of her fruit. Marlowe said

00:20:57

Speaker 1: thank you, He loved fruit especially. He invited Karma to

00:21:03

Speaker 1: stay with him for a while as he wanted to

00:21:06

Speaker 1: know where she had traveled from. He took her over

00:21:11

Speaker 1: to a rock and the two animals sat on top

00:21:14

Speaker 1: of it. The little monkey bit into one of the

00:21:18

Speaker 1: juicy pears and smiled in joy at the succulent taste

00:21:23

Speaker 1: of it. Karma told him about her day and the

00:21:29

Speaker 1: animals she had met on her walk. As she spoke

00:21:34

Speaker 1: about the gifts she had passed from one animal to

00:21:37

Speaker 1: the next, she realized how kind everyone had been, and

00:21:43

Speaker 1: her heart overflowed with love for having such thoughtful neighbors.

00:21:51

Speaker 1: She told the monkey what she was thinking, and he

00:21:54

Speaker 1: smiled too. Marlowe said, it is good to give things

00:22:01

Speaker 1: to others, but it's also important to receive gifts too.

00:22:07

Speaker 1: Giving needs to be balanced with receiving. When it works

00:22:12

Speaker 1: both ways, everyone is happy. Karma wasn't sure what he meant,

00:22:19

Speaker 1: and asked him to explain more. The monkey ate the

00:22:24

Speaker 1: last of his pear and wiped his mouth with his

00:22:28

Speaker 1: yellow tail. He said to Karma, because you gave me

00:22:34

Speaker 1: this wonderful fruit. I'd like to give you something as

00:22:38

Speaker 1: a thank you, not because I have to, but because

00:22:42

Speaker 1: I want to, and it will make me feel good too.

00:22:48

Speaker 1: Karma said he didn't have to give her anything, because

00:22:52

Speaker 1: being with him and sharing the wonderful view was enough

00:22:56

Speaker 1: of a gift. A monkey. He nodded in understanding, but

00:23:02

Speaker 1: said he would still like to give her something. He

00:23:06

Speaker 1: reached into a pocket in his waistcoat and pulled a

00:23:10

Speaker 1: small lightem out. He held it up so that Karma

00:23:16

Speaker 1: could see what it was. The monkey was holding a

00:23:21

Speaker 1: perfectly sculpted model of himself, complete with a yellow tail

00:23:26

Speaker 1: and an orange waistcoat. Marlow told the larmer he had

00:23:33

Speaker 1: made it himself from the mud at the bottom of

00:23:36

Speaker 1: the mountain. Once he'd made it, the mud had dried

00:23:41

Speaker 1: in the clear air at the top of the mountain.

00:23:45

Speaker 1: He loved making things, and with a grin, he said

00:23:49

Speaker 1: he loved playing in the mud too. Please do take

00:23:54

Speaker 1: it with you, Marlow said. Karma took the model and

00:24:01

Speaker 1: placed it carefully in her basket. She said, thank you.

00:24:08

Speaker 1: I will treasure this forever. It will be getting dark

00:24:13

Speaker 1: soon I should head home. You are welcome to visit

00:24:17

Speaker 1: my home any time. I know my grandpa will be

00:24:22

Speaker 1: delighted to meet you too. Marlowe promised to do so.

00:24:29

Speaker 1: He said it had been lovely to meet Karma, and

00:24:32

Speaker 1: he reminded her to remember to accept any gifts that

00:24:37

Speaker 1: came her way. Charmer said good bye and began her

00:24:43

Speaker 1: walk back down the mountain. She soon entered the misty

00:24:49

Speaker 1: cover of clouds again. There was a rumble of thunder

00:24:55

Speaker 1: and rain began to fall from the clouds. Karma was

00:25:01

Speaker 1: concerned her monkey sculpture would get wet, but she needn't

00:25:06

Speaker 1: have worried, because at that very moment, the group of

00:25:12

Speaker 1: umbrella birds whom she'd met earlier, flew towards her and

00:25:17

Speaker 1: made a feathery umbrella above her. The cover kept her

00:25:23

Speaker 1: and the basket completely dry as she walked on. After

00:25:30

Speaker 1: a few minutes, the rain stopped. Karma said thank you

00:25:36

Speaker 1: to the birds. They smiled in reply and flew away.

00:25:42

Speaker 1: The Lama reached the bottom of the mountain and the

00:25:46

Speaker 1: sun was warm on her back again. Karma walked through

00:25:52

Speaker 1: the orchard and met the mountain goat once more. He

00:25:58

Speaker 1: had made her some apple part He said, I love

00:26:04

Speaker 1: making apple pies and thought you might like to take

00:26:09

Speaker 1: one home with you. Karma said she would and thanked

00:26:15

Speaker 1: the thoughtful goat. The pie was placed snugly inside her basket.

00:26:23

Speaker 1: The llama said goodbye to the mountain goat and went

00:26:26

Speaker 1: on her way. The family of chinchillas had a gift

00:26:31

Speaker 1: for her too. They had been busy knitting with the

00:26:36

Speaker 1: alpaca wool, and they'd made her a soft blanket that

00:26:41

Speaker 1: would keep her cozy and warm in the snowy months.

00:26:47

Speaker 1: Karma was touched by their kindness. They helped her to

00:26:52

Speaker 1: roll up the blanket and put it in her basket.

00:26:57

Speaker 1: She said thank you and went on her away. The

00:27:03

Speaker 1: last animal she saw before she reached her grandpa's house

00:27:08

Speaker 1: was Alma, the alpaca. Alma was standing by her garden

00:27:14

Speaker 1: gate when she saw Karma. She held out a bunch

00:27:20

Speaker 1: of fresh carrots and said they were a gift for

00:27:23

Speaker 1: the lama and would make a delicious carrot stew. Alma

00:27:30

Speaker 1: placed the carrots inside the basket that was already overflowing

00:27:36

Speaker 1: with gifts. Karma thanked the alpaca and walked the short

00:27:43

Speaker 1: distance to her grandpa's house. Her grandpa was sitting in

00:27:50

Speaker 1: his deck chair. He beamed in delight when he saw

00:27:55

Speaker 1: his granddaughter and told her to sit next to him.

00:28:01

Speaker 1: He thanked her for cutting the lawn and taking the

00:28:04

Speaker 1: grass clippings to Alma. Grandpa asked if she'd enjoyed her

00:28:10

Speaker 1: mountain climb. Karma put her basket down, pointed to it,

00:28:18

Speaker 1: and told her grandpa about her day, the kind animals

00:28:23

Speaker 1: she'd met, and the gifts they had given her. She

00:28:29

Speaker 1: showed him the model of the yellow tailed wooly monkey.

00:28:34

Speaker 1: Her grandpa thought it was amazing and said it would

00:28:38

Speaker 1: look perfect on her mantelpiece. He got up from his

00:28:44

Speaker 1: deck chair and went into the house. He returned with

00:28:49

Speaker 1: two glasses of iced grass tea and passed one to Karma.

00:28:57

Speaker 1: She loved ice grass tea and took a big drink.

00:29:04

Speaker 1: Her grandpa settled back down in his chair and took

00:29:09

Speaker 1: a drink too. Karma sighed heavily. She said, Ah, Grandpa,

00:29:22

Speaker 1: I've had such a wonderful day and met some amazing animals.

00:29:29

Speaker 1: I'm a very lucky lama. Her grandpa patted her arm

00:29:35

Speaker 1: and said, and those amazing animals are lucky to have

00:29:41

Speaker 1: met you. Do you want to stay and watch the

00:29:45

Speaker 1: sunset with me. There will be a full moon to

00:29:50

Speaker 1: night and it's going to be a magnificent sight. Karma

00:29:59

Speaker 1: said she would love to. Her day had been full

00:30:06

Speaker 1: of one magical moment after another, and watching the sunset

00:30:13

Speaker 1: with her beloved grandpa was the perfect way to end it.

00:30:20

Speaker 1: Calmer smiled, she was the happiest Lama in the world.
