00:00:07

Speaker 1: Ooo, hello everyone, Abby. Here, as a special treat this evening,

00:00:14

Speaker 1: I've called in a master storyteller to take you trekking

00:00:18

Speaker 1: through the deep jungle. I'm thrilled to introduce you to Jeffrey,

00:00:23

Speaker 1: another bedtime story expert just like me. He tells stories

00:00:28

Speaker 1: on the Nightfalls podcast, which is one of Coco sleep

00:00:31

Speaker 1: sister podcasts and a much loved part of the Sleepiest Family.

00:00:36

Speaker 1: I hope you enjoy his story, and I'll be back

00:00:39

Speaker 1: on Wednesday. Few Coco Club members, until then, sweet dreams.

00:00:45

Speaker 2: Oh thank you, Abby. I hope all of you co

00:00:48

Speaker 2: cool Sleep listeners are ready for a sleepy adventure with

00:00:53

Speaker 2: Mowgli and Ballue. I hear many of you are champion meditators,

00:01:00

Speaker 2: so we'll begin with a short meditation before hearing tonight's story.

00:01:06

Speaker 2: So get snugly in your beds as we head to

00:01:12

Speaker 2: Nightfalls Tonight. We'll get cozy around Nightfalls campfire, and here

00:01:20

Speaker 2: were day in the life of Mowgli the Man Cub

00:01:23

Speaker 2: and Blue the Bear as they wander through the jungle,

00:01:27

Speaker 2: splashing in the water holes and chatting with the animals

00:01:30

Speaker 2: they pass by. But first, let's get comfy with a

00:01:35

Speaker 2: short meditation close your eyes and stretch your arms and

00:01:43

Speaker 2: your legs. Wiggle your fingers and toes, and find the

00:01:50

Speaker 2: comfiest part of your bed. Find an extra squishy cozy spot,

00:02:00

Speaker 2: puff your cheeks and sigh out to mark the end

00:02:05

Speaker 2: of the day. It's now time for us to relax.

00:02:14

Speaker 2: Get all snugly in your blanket. Take some big deep breath.

00:02:22

Speaker 2: Breathe then end out. Breathe then and out. As you breathe,

00:02:35

Speaker 2: imagine that you're floating on the breeze, flying over trees

00:02:41

Speaker 2: and rivers, heading to a beautiful blush jungle. Imagine that

00:02:50

Speaker 2: you're landing gently in and clearing. Now there are tropical

00:02:56

Speaker 2: birds tweeting in the tree tops around you. Can you

00:03:00

Speaker 2: hear them? Breathe in listening to the birds, and breathe out,

00:03:10

Speaker 2: blowing all the air out like a jungle breeze. Big

00:03:16

Speaker 2: colorful flowers bloom around you. Take a big deep breath in,

00:03:25

Speaker 2: as if you're smelling their sweet smell. Breathe in and out. Oh.

00:03:36

Speaker 2: A butterfly flits past and lands on a white flower

00:03:40

Speaker 2: ahead of you. It's as if it's telling you that

00:03:43

Speaker 2: this one smells extra lovely. Breathe in a big, deep

00:03:49

Speaker 2: breath again, and imagine the smell of your favorite flower.

00:03:56

Speaker 2: A cheeky, comfy monkey snoozes in the tree top overhead.

00:04:02

Speaker 2: Watch him snoring gently, and let out a little snore yourself.

00:04:12

Speaker 2: Watch him snoring gent The monkey is so comfy amongst

00:04:17

Speaker 2: the soft moss and delicate flower petals. He's just as

00:04:23

Speaker 2: comfy as you are right now in your bed. Breathe

00:04:31

Speaker 2: in and breathe out as you imagine your mattress getting

00:04:39

Speaker 2: even comfier like the springiest moss warmed by the sun.

00:04:49

Speaker 2: Now imagine you're floating down the river as the jungle

00:04:54

Speaker 2: rustles and tweets around you. We're bob down the crystal clear,

00:05:02

Speaker 2: winding stream towards a rocky clearing where Blue is just

00:05:11

Speaker 2: waking up, stretching and yawning. So our story can begin.

00:05:30

Speaker 2: On a gloriously sunny morning, a brown bear by the

00:05:35

Speaker 2: name of Blue stepped out of his cave and lifted

00:05:41

Speaker 2: his arms high above his head in a long, satisfying stretch.

00:05:50

Speaker 2: It was yet another beautiful day in the jungle. It

00:05:55

Speaker 2: was the perfect day for not doing much at all.

00:06:01

Speaker 2: Blue decided there was nothing that could make the day

00:06:04

Speaker 2: more pleasant, safe for spending it in good company. He

00:06:14

Speaker 2: walked away from his cave and shortly arrived at the

00:06:19

Speaker 2: home of the wolves. Mowgli, the man cup was sitting

00:06:25

Speaker 2: with his pack. He waved when he saw Balu approaching.

00:06:33

Speaker 2: Mother Wolf invited the bear to sit for a while

00:06:37

Speaker 2: and take breakfast with them. Balu had been raised to

00:06:42

Speaker 2: have good manners, so he accepted readily. Whilst they were eating,

00:06:52

Speaker 2: Mowgli talked about their plans for the day. Moguli's suggestions

00:06:59

Speaker 2: involved going for a long walk through the jungle. There

00:07:04

Speaker 2: were some mountains he wanted to climb, several rivers he

00:07:08

Speaker 2: wished to swim in, and a few hidden trails he

00:07:13

Speaker 2: would like to explore. Blue gave Mogli's plans some thoughts

00:07:22

Speaker 2: and said, make that a long, rambling walk with lots

00:07:28

Speaker 2: of rests along the way, and I'm in This is

00:07:34

Speaker 2: the kind of day to bask in nature, to feel

00:07:37

Speaker 2: the wind on your fur and the ground beneath your feet.

00:07:44

Speaker 2: A day to save her. Mogli looked skyward at the

00:07:52

Speaker 2: clear blue sky. A gentle breeze caressed his skin, the

00:08:00

Speaker 2: melody of birds song filled the air. He agreed with

00:08:07

Speaker 2: Blue that it was most definitely a day for enjoying

00:08:12

Speaker 2: the beauty around them, and Mowgli added, I can always

00:08:20

Speaker 2: climb a mountain tomorrow if I feel like it. The

00:08:26

Speaker 2: pair said goodbye to the wolves before setting off through

00:08:30

Speaker 2: the jungle. The ground beneath them was dusty and warm.

00:08:39

Speaker 2: A green lizard lay outstretched on a sand colored rock,

00:08:44

Speaker 2: looking as though he was said to be there all

00:08:46

Speaker 2: day and was happy at the prospect. Butterflies flittered above

00:08:54

Speaker 2: their heads, flashes of blues, yellows, and reds marking their

00:09:01

Speaker 2: flight through the trees. Mowgli and Blue strolled towards the

00:09:07

Speaker 2: open plains. The ground changed from a dusty surface to

00:09:14

Speaker 2: one composed of soft grass. The occasional tuft of long

00:09:19

Speaker 2: stalks dotted the landscape, providing shady rest spots for smaller animals.

00:09:30

Speaker 2: Balloon and Mowgli spotted a mother lion lounging on the ground,

00:09:35

Speaker 2: watching her cubs at play. The golden haired cubs played

00:09:41

Speaker 2: games which involved them tumbling over and over in the

00:09:45

Speaker 2: grass down a gentle incline. When they came to a stop,

00:09:53

Speaker 2: they hastened back to their starting position to begin the

00:09:57

Speaker 2: fun all over again. A peacock sauntered into view, with

00:10:06

Speaker 2: his feathers lying low behind him. As if sensing he

00:10:11

Speaker 2: was the center of Mowgli and BLEU's attention, he raised

00:10:15

Speaker 2: his turquoise and scarlet feathers and opened them into a

00:10:20

Speaker 2: distinctive curved arch. He slowly turned around, making sure they

00:10:28

Speaker 2: got a complete view of his spectacular feathers. When he

00:10:34

Speaker 2: was satisfied that they had been entranced by his beauty,

00:10:38

Speaker 2: he lowered his feathers and continued on his way. Mowglian

00:10:46

Speaker 2: Baluu carried on walking. The grass swayed in the wind,

00:10:54

Speaker 2: causing a soft whisper to catch on the breeze and

00:10:59

Speaker 2: travel through the open plains. Ugly reached down and plucked

00:11:07

Speaker 2: a stalk of long grass. He shaped it as Blue

00:11:12

Speaker 2: had taught him, and brought the makeshift instrument to his mouth.

00:11:19

Speaker 2: He blew on it, releasing a low whistle which mingled

00:11:23

Speaker 2: hypnotically with the sound of the rustling grass. The bear

00:11:30

Speaker 2: and the boy walked on in companionable silence, knowing there

00:11:37

Speaker 2: was no need to talk. Before long, they came to

00:11:43

Speaker 2: a water hole. The sun shone brightly through the trees

00:11:50

Speaker 2: and cast dancing beams of light across the water. A

00:11:57

Speaker 2: group of rhinos were taking advantage of the wall and

00:12:01

Speaker 2: wallowing in its cool depths, barely causing a ripple as

00:12:07

Speaker 2: they glided along. Some were immersed so fully that only

00:12:13

Speaker 2: their half closed eyes were visible. Elephants stood at the

00:12:20

Speaker 2: far side of the waterhole, their long gray trunks dipped

00:12:27

Speaker 2: in the water. Their offspring waited patiently behind them, in

00:12:33

Speaker 2: anticipation of the refreshing body shower which would soon be

00:12:38

Speaker 2: coming their way. Brightly colored birds sang from the highest

00:12:44

Speaker 2: branches of the trees, sending a cheerful chorus of tweets, charps,

00:12:51

Speaker 2: and whistles through the jungle. Emerald winged dragonflies flitted over river,

00:13:01

Speaker 2: their wings glinting in the morning rays of sun. Mowgli

00:13:08

Speaker 2: thought the water looked particularly inviting and asked Blue if

00:13:14

Speaker 2: he'd like to take a dip with him. The bear

00:13:18

Speaker 2: declined and said Mowgli could go ahead without him, and

00:13:23

Speaker 2: pointed out it was about that time of the day

00:13:27

Speaker 2: when Blue was due a nap. Blue ambled over to

00:13:34

Speaker 2: the nearest tree and sat in its shade with his

00:13:39

Speaker 2: bag supported by the thick trunk. He took some deep

00:13:44

Speaker 2: refreshing breath, inhaling the scent of tropical flowers and pine needles.

00:13:51

Speaker 2: His heavy eyes closed and he soon fell into a

00:13:56

Speaker 2: peaceful nap. Above him, a mother monkey sat in the

00:14:03

Speaker 2: branches of the tree with her baby in her arms,

00:14:08

Speaker 2: not moving, just sitting there and gazing at her little

00:14:13

Speaker 2: one with her heart full of love. Mowgli slipped into

00:14:21

Speaker 2: the water and proceeded to swim slowly along, trying to

00:14:26

Speaker 2: mimic the rhinos by not causing a ripple with his movement.

00:14:34

Speaker 2: The warmth of the sun mixed with the coolness of

00:14:37

Speaker 2: the water made Mowgli feel light and carefree. After swimming

00:14:47

Speaker 2: for a while, he moved over to the side of

00:14:50

Speaker 2: the water hole and rested his head against the grassy bank.

00:14:56

Speaker 2: He watched the animals of the jungle as they shared

00:14:59

Speaker 2: the try tranquility of the water. In peaceful harmony, Mowgli

00:15:08

Speaker 2: relaxed in the water in the present moment. There was

00:15:14

Speaker 2: nothing else he needed to do, and nowhere else he

00:15:18

Speaker 2: needed to be. The sun moved slowly across the cloudless sky.

00:15:29

Speaker 2: Giraffes walked by the water hole, their heads held a

00:15:33

Speaker 2: regally high. Occasionally, they stopped at a tree and stretched

00:15:41

Speaker 2: their necks into the branches in search of the tastiest leaves.

00:15:50

Speaker 2: After a while, Mowgli decided it was time to leave

00:15:53

Speaker 2: the water. He climbed out and shook droplets of water

00:15:59

Speaker 2: from his body. He knew the sun would soon dry

00:16:03

Speaker 2: him completely. He walked over to his snoozing friend and

00:16:09

Speaker 2: gently shook him. The big brown bear opened his eyes

00:16:17

Speaker 2: and gave Mowgli a lazy smile. He announced his nap

00:16:22

Speaker 2: had been a most satisfying one, and he was ready

00:16:26

Speaker 2: to continue on their wanderings. He yawned and stretched out

00:16:32

Speaker 2: his arms before getting to his feet and stretching some more.

00:16:41

Speaker 2: The pair left the water hole behind and continued on

00:16:45

Speaker 2: their journey. They headed towards the denser part of the

00:16:50

Speaker 2: forest and were soon surrounded by lush vegetation. An abundance

00:16:58

Speaker 2: of leafy fern covered the ground, brushing against their legs

00:17:03

Speaker 2: as they strolled along. Light green moss hugged the trunks

00:17:10

Speaker 2: of tall trees. Garlands of vines swooped from branch to branch.

00:17:19

Speaker 2: Fallen trees on the jungle floor provided cozy habitats for

00:17:23

Speaker 2: smaller animals. The sun twinkled through the gaps in the leaves,

00:17:33

Speaker 2: sending glimmers of light over the ferns and logs. Crystals

00:17:38

Speaker 2: in rocks twinkled in the sun's rays, making them look

00:17:43

Speaker 2: like they were sprinkled with diamonds. Blue and Mowgli heard

00:17:50

Speaker 2: a gentil rustling in the ferns and stopped to see

00:17:54

Speaker 2: which friend was coming their way. Pangolin by the name

00:18:00

Speaker 2: of Panchel emerged from the undergrowth. The intricate pattern on

00:18:06

Speaker 2: his body was highlighted by some beams and showed off

00:18:11

Speaker 2: every leaf shaped plate to perfection. Pancho greeted Balue and

00:18:17

Speaker 2: Mowgli with a warm smile and asked where they were going,

00:18:25

Speaker 2: just this way and that way. Blue answered, maybe over there,

00:18:31

Speaker 2: maybe back that way. Just wandering through the jungle, me too.

00:18:39

Speaker 2: Pancho replied, it's the perfect day for it. They exchanged

00:18:47

Speaker 2: more pleasant trees before going their separate ways. Blue and

00:18:53

Speaker 2: Mowgli walked deeper into the jungle for a while. The

00:18:58

Speaker 2: sun wasn't able to find opening through the trees, and

00:19:02

Speaker 2: their path ahead became darker and cozier under the canopy

00:19:08

Speaker 2: of leaves above them. The bird's song turned quieter and

00:19:15

Speaker 2: became a soft background melody to their leisurely steps. Very

00:19:23

Speaker 2: soon the trees started to tin out once more, the

00:19:30

Speaker 2: sun shone through the gaps. Streams of light landed on

00:19:35

Speaker 2: the path ahead, illuminating the way forward. The sound of

00:19:43

Speaker 2: a babbling stream became audible. Blue and Mowgli followed the

00:19:48

Speaker 2: noise until they came to a crystal clear stream meandering

00:19:54

Speaker 2: along a shallow river bed. Tiny orange swam through the water,

00:20:02

Speaker 2: making their way around boulders and under floating pieces of wood.

00:20:09

Speaker 2: Blue picked a pawful of leaves from a tree. He

00:20:13

Speaker 2: gave some to Mowgli. They walked closer to the stream

00:20:20

Speaker 2: and stopped at the side of it. They dropped the

00:20:24

Speaker 2: leaves into the water and watched as each leaf was

00:20:29

Speaker 2: taken downstream, one after the other, floating softly, some being

00:20:40

Speaker 2: swept away by the water and others gliding from side

00:20:46

Speaker 2: to side. One twirled merrily in the water, as though

00:20:52

Speaker 2: in a dance. When the last of the leaves had

00:20:59

Speaker 2: been released, Blue and Mowgli walked further down stream until

00:21:04

Speaker 2: they came to a crossing point. They stepped into the stream,

00:21:09

Speaker 2: feeling the cool water wash over their feet. The pebbles

00:21:14

Speaker 2: beneath them were smooth and easy to walk on. They

00:21:22

Speaker 2: crossed to the other side and continued on their way,

00:21:28

Speaker 2: heading into the part of the jungle where the monkeys lived.

00:21:35

Speaker 2: It wasn't long before they heard the heart warming sound

00:21:38

Speaker 2: of chattering monkeys. Mowgli in Blue stopped at the nearest

00:21:46

Speaker 2: tree and looked upwards. They saw a family of monkeys

00:21:51

Speaker 2: sitting in a line along a bough, each one grooming

00:21:55

Speaker 2: the one in front, apart from the monkey at the

00:21:59

Speaker 2: very front, who seemed to have the best of the deal.

00:22:04

Speaker 2: When the monkey saw Mowgli in Blue, they called down

00:22:09

Speaker 2: and offered to pamper them. Balue declined and said if

00:22:15

Speaker 2: he were on the receiving end of such a relaxing treatment,

00:22:19

Speaker 2: he would be sure to fall asleep immediately, and as

00:22:24

Speaker 2: much as he loved sleeping, he wasn't quite ready for

00:22:29

Speaker 2: his next nap yet. Mowgli also said a polite no

00:22:35

Speaker 2: to the offer, but asked if he could climb their

00:22:38

Speaker 2: tree to see what the view was like from up there.

00:22:44

Speaker 2: The monkey said yes, and what could Mowgli up into

00:22:48

Speaker 2: their home? Mowgli was up the tree in second The

00:22:55

Speaker 2: view from the top was magnificent. The jungle looked like

00:23:00

Speaker 2: a carpet of leaves, stretching out for miles and miles.

00:23:06

Speaker 2: Snow dusted mountains in the distance framed the pleasing panorama.

00:23:14

Speaker 2: A couple of monkeys offered to show Mowgli their favorite

00:23:17

Speaker 2: root through the trees. Mowgli sank them, then spent a

00:23:22

Speaker 2: very enjoyable time moving from tree top to tree top

00:23:27

Speaker 2: along a bridge of boughs which the monkeys had constructed.

00:23:35

Speaker 2: Blue sat on a shaded rock and closed his eyes.

00:23:41

Speaker 2: He listened to the sounds of the jungle around him

00:23:45

Speaker 2: and felt a peacefulness softly flowing through him. When Mowgli

00:23:52

Speaker 2: returned to Blue's side, he gently shook the bear and

00:23:57

Speaker 2: told him it was time to wake up. Blue opened

00:24:02

Speaker 2: his eyes and said he hadn't been asleep, just merely resting.

00:24:09

Speaker 2: They said good bye to the monkeys before going on

00:24:12

Speaker 2: their way. Noise of rushing water soon came to their attention,

00:24:20

Speaker 2: but it wasn't the babbling noise of a stream or

00:24:23

Speaker 2: the flow of a river. It was something altogether different.

00:24:31

Speaker 2: They navigated the pine strewn path in front of them

00:24:35

Speaker 2: until they came to a spectacular waterfall. A silver tipped

00:24:40

Speaker 2: curtain of water flowed over the edge of a cliff

00:24:45

Speaker 2: and down a series of stebbed rocks before coming to

00:24:49

Speaker 2: a rest in a sparkling clear lagoon. Loo and Mowgli

00:24:56

Speaker 2: were mesmerized by the sight of the natural wonder and

00:25:00

Speaker 2: stood in awed silence, watching the never ending cascade of water.

00:25:09

Speaker 2: As they been walking for a while, Blue suggested they

00:25:13

Speaker 2: cool off in the lagoon. Mowgli thought that was an

00:25:19

Speaker 2: excellent suggestion. Within minutes, they were immersed in the lagoon

00:25:27

Speaker 2: and floating on their backs, they gazed at the blue sky.

00:25:34

Speaker 2: Couple of small clouds floated by. Blue asked Mowgli what

00:25:40

Speaker 2: he saw with a contented sigh. Clouds, Mowgli said, puzzledly.

00:25:51

Speaker 2: Blue chuckled, well, yes, clouds, but what do you think

00:25:57

Speaker 2: they look like? Looked closer, squinting slightly in concentration, that

00:26:07

Speaker 2: one looks like the water hole viewed from way on high.

00:26:12

Speaker 2: Blue nodded it was the same shape as the waterhole.

00:26:20

Speaker 2: He kept watching as it floated gently across the sky.

00:26:25

Speaker 2: I think that it looks like panchal. It's brown like

00:26:30

Speaker 2: the pangolin, with a little point that could be his nose.

00:26:39

Speaker 2: Mowgli considered this before agreeing. As the two watched the

00:26:45

Speaker 2: fluffy cloud, its vapor dispersed and the shape distorted in

00:26:51

Speaker 2: front of their eyes. What about now, Billu asked. Gazed

00:27:00

Speaker 2: into the sky. It looks like you, Blue, he said.

00:27:06

Speaker 2: He lazily pointed out the shape of blues long body

00:27:10

Speaker 2: in the wisps, the protruding snout, and two small tufts

00:27:16

Speaker 2: for years. Blue pointed to the other cloud drifting lightly

00:27:24

Speaker 2: through the atmosphere. That one is especially wispy, he observed.

00:27:30

Speaker 2: Each tendril looks like the roots of a banyan tree.

00:27:35

Speaker 2: Mowgli agreed, there is one just like that in the

00:27:40

Speaker 2: clearing near my place. They drifted on their backs like

00:27:45

Speaker 2: this for a while, watching the clouds. Using their hands

00:27:52

Speaker 2: as paddles. They moved closer to the bottom of the

00:27:56

Speaker 2: waterfall until they felt the refreshing spray of water alighting

00:28:02

Speaker 2: on their faces. They stayed there for a while, not

00:28:08

Speaker 2: doing anything, just floating. Some time later, Mowgli noticed more

00:28:16

Speaker 2: clouds that appeared in the sky. Some of them were

00:28:20

Speaker 2: turning gray around the edges. They were familiar with how

00:28:25

Speaker 2: swiftly the weather could change in the jungle and the

00:28:29

Speaker 2: stillness in the air confirmed a tropical shower was on

00:28:33

Speaker 2: the way. They climbed out of the lagoon and took

00:28:39

Speaker 2: refuge in a small cave at the side of the waterfall,

00:28:44

Speaker 2: and it wasn't a moment too soon. The rain had come,

00:28:51

Speaker 2: a tropical downpour of refreshing rain drops, which washed away

00:28:56

Speaker 2: the heat of the day. Drops landed on the surface

00:29:02

Speaker 2: of the lagoon, resulting in hundreds of tiny ripples radiating

00:29:08

Speaker 2: ever outwards. Rain trickled down leaves, dripping from one to

00:29:15

Speaker 2: the other before joining a trickle of water on the ground.

00:29:22

Speaker 2: The sky turned darker. Mowgli moved closer to Blue in

00:29:27

Speaker 2: the cozy cave and felt a comforting warmth coming from

00:29:32

Speaker 2: his dear friend. Just as quickly as it had started,

00:29:40

Speaker 2: the rain began to slow, the clouds cleared, and the

00:29:45

Speaker 2: sun came out. A beautiful rainbow graced the sky for

00:29:51

Speaker 2: a whole minute before fading away into nothing more than

00:29:56

Speaker 2: a delightful memory. Blue and Mowgli came out of the cave.

00:30:04

Speaker 2: The air smelt fresh and clean. The birds hung, which

00:30:09

Speaker 2: had grown quiet during the rain, started up again and

00:30:15

Speaker 2: sounded even more joyful. The two friends continued on their

00:30:22

Speaker 2: way through the beautiful lush jungle. Now and again. They

00:30:29

Speaker 2: picked soft fruit from the bushes and low hanging branches.

00:30:35

Speaker 2: They ate sticky sweet pawpaw and tangy black plums. Blue

00:30:43

Speaker 2: chewed juicy prickly pears clasped between his paws, and picked

00:30:49

Speaker 2: large yellow bananas from the trees, peeling them with a

00:30:54

Speaker 2: content smile. Mowgli collected a cocoanut, which Blue cracked open

00:31:01

Speaker 2: for him. With these and drank its sweet water. Each

00:31:08

Speaker 2: mouthful seemed even more delicious than usual on that wonderful day.

00:31:16

Speaker 2: All too soon, the sun completed its journey across the sky,

00:31:22

Speaker 2: leaving behind a spectacular sunset of orange and pink. Balloon

00:31:32

Speaker 2: and Mowgli were too far from home to begin their

00:31:35

Speaker 2: journey back before nightfall. After a brief discussion, they decided

00:31:42

Speaker 2: the night under the stars would be the perfect end

00:31:48

Speaker 2: to their perfect day. A sleepy sloth bear hanging from

00:31:55

Speaker 2: a nearby tree overheard them and said they were welcome

00:31:59

Speaker 2: to share her home for the night. With a yawn,

00:32:04

Speaker 2: she added, if you don't want to sleep up here,

00:32:09

Speaker 2: the ground around the tree is very comfy. I've fallen

00:32:13

Speaker 2: asleep there once or twice. It was an offer Balloon

00:32:19

Speaker 2: and Mowgli couldn't refuse. They thanked the kind's lost bear,

00:32:25

Speaker 2: but she didn't hear them because she'd already fallen back

00:32:30

Speaker 2: into her nighttime dreams. Hawgli collected the softest moss he

00:32:37

Speaker 2: could find and arranged it around the base of the tree.

00:32:43

Speaker 2: Blue went in search of food and came back with supplies.

00:32:51

Speaker 2: An owl hooted from the top of a tree. As

00:32:55

Speaker 2: the pair settled themselves down for the night, they looked

00:32:59

Speaker 2: through the leaves above them and saw the moon shining brightly.

00:33:05

Speaker 2: Stars twinkled into view one by one until the sky

00:33:10

Speaker 2: was a blanket of glimmering lights. Mowgli suggested they should

00:33:18

Speaker 2: count the stars. The two of them lay by the

00:33:22

Speaker 2: base of the tree, looking into the sky above. How

00:33:28

Speaker 2: many stars do you think there are, Ballue, Mowgli asked,

00:33:34

Speaker 2: more than a bear could ever count Mowgli. Blue replied

00:33:38

Speaker 2: with a yawn, But maybe you could count them. Mowgli

00:33:46

Speaker 2: agreed and pointed up into the air as he counted

00:33:51

Speaker 2: the stars one by one. With each number, Blue's eyelids

00:33:58

Speaker 2: moved a smidge together. Before Mowgli had finished counting, even

00:34:07

Speaker 2: a corner of the sky, he noticed Balue was almost

00:34:11

Speaker 2: fully asleep. Mowgli stopped counting and relaxed on the soft moss.

00:34:23

Speaker 2: Turned to Ballue just before he drifted off, and said

00:34:28

Speaker 2: it had been a wonderful day and he hoped they

00:34:33

Speaker 2: could do it again soon. How does tomorrow sound, Willie

00:34:39

Speaker 2: asked with a smile. Mowgli was about to reply, but

00:34:46

Speaker 2: then he heard the familiar sound of blues low rumbling

00:34:52

Speaker 2: snores and realized his friend had fallen asleep. Mowgli's eyes

00:35:04

Speaker 2: grew heavier, and the wonderful weariness settled on his limbs.

00:35:12

Speaker 2: He yawned and closed his eyes. Mowgli drifted into a deep,

00:35:20

Speaker 2: RESTful sleep. His perfect jungle day turned into an enchanting

00:35:30

Speaker 2: jungle night. As the two friends slept, the jungle slept

00:35:40

Speaker 2: around them. The moon made its soft, slow ascent across

00:35:46

Speaker 2: the sky. Trees waved softly, as if breathing deeply in

00:35:53

Speaker 2: the night air. The light breeze rustled across blues far

00:36:01

Speaker 2: before settling down itself. As the air became still, the

00:36:09

Speaker 2: rustling and scurrying noises slowed and quieted. As the animals

00:36:14

Speaker 2: of the jungle lay down for the night. Nocturnal animals

00:36:22

Speaker 2: moved in the trees, almost imperceptibly, moving calmly so as

00:36:30

Speaker 2: not to disturb the drowsy animals around them. All that

00:36:37

Speaker 2: was left was the soft sound of crickets trilling in

00:36:42

Speaker 2: the night, and the slow breathing an occasional soft snore

00:36:50

Speaker 2: of the deeply sleeping creatures beneath the tree amongst the

00:37:00

Speaker 2: soft light of the stars. The moon continued on its

00:37:04

Speaker 2: journey across the sky and its trajectory towards the horizon,

00:37:13

Speaker 2: at which point the sun would rise and the jungle

00:37:21

Speaker 2: would come alive once more.
