Speaker 1: Hi, and welcome back to Coco Sleep. I hope you're
00:00:14
Speaker 1: enjoying this podcast of original children's bedtime stories and meditations
00:00:20
Speaker 1: designed to make bedtime a dream just talking to your
00:00:25
Speaker 1: adult for one second. If this podcast helps your little
00:00:29
Speaker 1: one to sleep, please find the time to leave us
00:00:32
Speaker 1: a short review. It will help our stories reach more
00:00:36
Speaker 1: people and will be so grateful that you did. Tonight,
00:00:40
Speaker 1: I'm going to read you a warm hearted story. It's
00:00:44
Speaker 1: all about the power of friendship and teamwork. Let's hear
00:00:50
Speaker 1: how bunny rabbits Bertie and Bobby hop to the rescue
00:00:54
Speaker 1: and go on an adventure to find the moon and
00:00:58
Speaker 1: put it back into the night sky. Snuggle down, relax
00:01:03
Speaker 1: and close your eyes. Breathe in and out, nice and deeply,
00:01:11
Speaker 1: in and out, in and out, and now it's time
00:01:24
Speaker 1: for Lunar's Lost Moon by Alicia Ainslie. It was a
00:01:38
Speaker 1: cool summer's day in mid July when Bertie and Bobby
00:01:43
Speaker 1: hopped on down to the lake at the edge of
00:01:45
Speaker 1: the forest, never expecting what adventure was in store for
00:01:50
Speaker 1: them that day. The sun was high in the sky,
00:01:58
Speaker 1: smiling down on all the sun citizens of the forest below,
00:02:02
Speaker 1: and Bertie, the gray haired rabbit wanted to run and play.
00:02:08
Speaker 1: Hopping diddly through the forest, over flowers, underhanging branches, and
00:02:13
Speaker 1: through lush green bushes, he eventually came upon a warren
00:02:19
Speaker 1: tunneling deep underground. Peeping his little head into the hole,
00:02:25
Speaker 1: he called out, Bobby, Bobby, come out and play. After
00:02:34
Speaker 1: a few moments, he heard the sound of rustling, and
00:02:38
Speaker 1: he saw his friend's fury face peep out from the warren. Hello, Bertie,
00:02:44
Speaker 1: what a beautiful day it is. The sun is so
00:02:47
Speaker 1: beautiful today it seems as though it will never end.
00:02:52
Speaker 1: Then let's get out and make the most of it,
00:02:54
Speaker 1: Bertie exclaimed, turning on his heels and hopping off. Bobby
00:03:00
Speaker 1: shuffled his way out of the warren head to fluffy tail,
00:03:05
Speaker 1: and followed Bertie as he hopped off through the forest.
00:03:11
Speaker 1: The pair ran with such speed, an uncontained glee, with
00:03:16
Speaker 1: their floppy ears billowing behind them in the wind. The
00:03:21
Speaker 1: birds chirped overhead, cheering them on as they raced the
00:03:25
Speaker 1: neighboring bunnies to the lake. Eventually, Bertie and Bobby made
00:03:31
Speaker 1: it to the edge of the lake, where they took
00:03:33
Speaker 1: a moment to drink and freshen hum. The lake was
00:03:38
Speaker 1: busy today, with the woodland creatures all sunbathing along the banks.
00:03:44
Speaker 1: It seemed like everyone was wanting to make the most
00:03:47
Speaker 1: of the glorious sun. Today. The lake looked dazzling as
00:03:53
Speaker 1: the sun's rays reflected off the surface of the water,
00:03:57
Speaker 1: creating an iridescent glow of sparkling light. The fish of
00:04:03
Speaker 1: the lake appeared to be delighted by all the attention
00:04:07
Speaker 1: of their large audience today and were performing quite the show.
00:04:13
Speaker 1: On a normal day, the fish lazily swam around the lake,
00:04:18
Speaker 1: rarely emerging from under the surface, except to say hello
00:04:24
Speaker 1: on occasion to a sunbathing frog. But on this occasion,
00:04:29
Speaker 1: the fish were pulling out all the stops to entertain
00:04:33
Speaker 1: the crowds of animals that had gathered around their home.
00:04:39
Speaker 1: Bertie and Bobby giggled as they watched the fish fly
00:04:44
Speaker 1: through the air, swapping places with one another and creating
00:04:49
Speaker 1: formations in the air, all perfectly synchronized like a choreographed dance.
00:04:57
Speaker 1: I always knew the fish were seen which show offs,
00:05:01
Speaker 1: Bobby whispered to Bertie, and they laughed fondly. The colorful
00:05:09
Speaker 1: fish were performing remarkably well today. However, Bertie's favorite of
00:05:15
Speaker 1: the fish in the lake with a silverfish that came
00:05:19
Speaker 1: out at night under the blanket of night in the
00:05:24
Speaker 1: moon's beams when everyone else had gone to bed, the
00:05:29
Speaker 1: silverfish would propel themselves out of the water and perform
00:05:34
Speaker 1: the most unbelievable cartwheels, somersaults, and turns in the air
00:05:41
Speaker 1: before landing gracefully back in the water, barely leaving a
00:05:46
Speaker 1: ripple behind. During the day, they remained below the surface
00:05:52
Speaker 1: of the lake, resting and preparing for the Goddess Luna
00:05:58
Speaker 1: to bring out the moon to its right place in
00:06:01
Speaker 1: the sky when they would finally emerge and take their
00:06:06
Speaker 1: place on center stage. Often, Bertie would sneak away on
00:06:12
Speaker 1: a night from his cozy family warren to come and
00:06:17
Speaker 1: lie by the side of the lake and watch the
00:06:20
Speaker 1: silverfish perform their spectacular show in the spotlight created by
00:06:26
Speaker 1: the moon's beams. He liked to think that the silverfish
00:06:31
Speaker 1: put on this show specially for the Goddess Luna to
00:06:35
Speaker 1: thank her for all the moon did for the world
00:06:39
Speaker 1: and the peace and tranquility that it brought. Bobby looked
00:06:45
Speaker 1: around the side of the lake for a spot for
00:06:48
Speaker 1: them to lay, but there didn't seem to be a
00:06:51
Speaker 1: prime spot anywhere. He was too busy here, Bobby sighed,
00:06:58
Speaker 1: looking round for a spot to relax. Let's head over
00:07:02
Speaker 1: to the reeds and see if we can find somewhere
00:07:05
Speaker 1: to rest there. The fluffy duo hopped off around the
00:07:12
Speaker 1: backs of the resting deer, the bathing otters, and the
00:07:16
Speaker 1: napping herons in search of the reeded area, hoping they
00:07:22
Speaker 1: could find a spot to relax around there. Where the
00:07:27
Speaker 1: reeds stood, it was sheltered from the brightness of the sun,
00:07:33
Speaker 1: and there was a soothing, cool breeze rushing through the reeds,
00:07:38
Speaker 1: swaying them gently from side to side. It was much
00:07:44
Speaker 1: better here. Bertie and Bobby slinked effortlessly through the tall,
00:07:52
Speaker 1: grassy plants until they came upon the bank of the lake.
00:07:58
Speaker 1: There was a perfect pattern of sand ready and waiting
00:08:03
Speaker 1: for them. It was totally undisturbed, with no one else around,
00:08:09
Speaker 1: and it was the ideal bunny sized area for them
00:08:13
Speaker 1: both to lie down and stretch out long, all the
00:08:18
Speaker 1: whilst dipping their toes in the calming cool waters of
00:08:23
Speaker 1: the lake. Bertie and Bobby sat themselves down in their
00:08:30
Speaker 1: secret spot and sighed with relief, what a glorious day
00:08:38
Speaker 1: it was. They lay there, resting their eyes, hearing nothing
00:08:45
Speaker 1: but the gentle rustling of the reeds rocking in the wind,
00:08:51
Speaker 1: the distant chirping of crickets, the occasional bird song from
00:08:57
Speaker 1: the nearby trees, and the soft ebbing and flowing of
00:09:04
Speaker 1: the water on the shore. After a while, Bobby's ears
00:09:11
Speaker 1: began to gently twitch as they picked up on a
00:09:15
Speaker 1: new noise breaking through the lull of soothing sounds around them.
00:09:23
Speaker 1: It was an unusual sound, one that he hadn't heard before.
00:09:30
Speaker 1: Rolling over, Bobby gently nudged Bertie to gain his attention. Bertie,
00:09:39
Speaker 1: did ye hear that? He whispered. Bertie yawned a great
00:09:44
Speaker 1: yawn and stretched his little body out. He had happily
00:09:49
Speaker 1: dozed off and was not too pleased to have been
00:09:52
Speaker 1: disturbed by his friend so soon. What are you talking about,
00:09:59
Speaker 1: ber he asked begrudgingly. Bobby paused and listened closer. The
00:10:09
Speaker 1: strange sound was coming from through the reeds to their left.
00:10:15
Speaker 1: Holding his paw to his lips, he hushed Bertie and
00:10:21
Speaker 1: beckoned for him to follow. Silently, the two bunnies crept
00:10:28
Speaker 1: through the reeds following the strange sound. Eventually they came
00:10:35
Speaker 1: to a new part of the lake that was completely
00:10:39
Speaker 1: shaded by large, overhanging trees. It was so covered that
00:10:46
Speaker 1: you could be forgiven for thinking that night had fallen
00:10:50
Speaker 1: on just this area of the lake. The waters were
00:10:55
Speaker 1: completely still here, with not a flying fish to be found,
00:11:01
Speaker 1: and on the edge of the waters sat a woman.
00:11:08
Speaker 1: The woman had bright white, long hair that cascaded over
00:11:13
Speaker 1: her shoulders and down her back to the floor. She
00:11:18
Speaker 1: wore a long, sparkling silver dress and a silky shawl
00:11:25
Speaker 1: that was held on by dazzling diamond beads that spiraled
00:11:31
Speaker 1: up and down her arms all the way to her fingertips.
00:11:39
Speaker 1: She was very beautiful, but there was something wrong. Her
00:11:45
Speaker 1: purple eyes glistened with longing and her brow was furrowed
00:11:51
Speaker 1: with concern. Bobby tilted his head to the side. What
00:11:59
Speaker 1: do you think is the matter with her? He said
00:12:02
Speaker 1: to Bertie. Well, how am I supposed to know? Bertie replied, ever,
00:12:09
Speaker 1: the practical one of the pair, let's go ask her.
00:12:15
Speaker 1: And with that Bertie pushed his way out of the
00:12:19
Speaker 1: reeds where they hid and hopped over to the side
00:12:24
Speaker 1: of the mysterious woman. Bobby followed behind curiously. The ethereal
00:12:33
Speaker 1: woman turned her head to the tiny bunnies by her
00:12:37
Speaker 1: side forlornly. Hello, miss, Bertie said softly. My name is
00:12:46
Speaker 1: Bertie and this is my friend Bobby. We couldn't help,
00:12:51
Speaker 1: but notice you seemed troubled. Is there any way we
00:12:55
Speaker 1: can help you? The woman smiled at them kindly. Oh,
00:13:02
Speaker 1: bless you. She replied with a husky, deep voice. I
00:13:09
Speaker 1: don't think you can help me, sweet bunnies, I have
00:13:13
Speaker 1: lost something very important, and I have searched with all
00:13:19
Speaker 1: my might, but I just can't find it. Bobby crept
00:13:26
Speaker 1: closer to the woman and suggested sweetly, well, maybe we
00:13:33
Speaker 1: can help you. Look, we are quite good at finding things,
00:13:38
Speaker 1: especially if they've fallen underground. The woman laughed gently. I
00:13:47
Speaker 1: don't think that what I've lost can be found underground.
00:13:52
Speaker 1: You see, my name is Luna. I am the goddess
00:13:57
Speaker 1: of the Moon, and I have lost the most important
00:14:01
Speaker 1: thing to me, the moon itself. Bertie and Bobby gasped.
00:14:11
Speaker 1: How could this have happened? Bertie cried, he couldn't believe
00:14:16
Speaker 1: he was in the presence of the great Goddess Luna herself.
00:14:24
Speaker 1: Luna began to explain her predicament. She and her brother, Helios,
00:14:31
Speaker 1: the sun god, had quarreled the day prior. Helios had
00:14:37
Speaker 1: claimed that there was no need for light in the night.
00:14:42
Speaker 1: He believed that the creatures of the earth should sleep
00:14:46
Speaker 1: and wait all night long for his return in the morning,
00:14:51
Speaker 1: when he would ride his great charrier across the sky,
00:14:55
Speaker 1: bringing a light to the world. He was very jealous
00:15:01
Speaker 1: of the attention that Luna was receiving from the humans.
00:15:07
Speaker 1: They had begun worshiping her every full moon, and Helios
00:15:13
Speaker 1: was concerned that she was attempting to take his place
00:15:17
Speaker 1: as a great god amongst the humans. In his jealousy,
00:15:24
Speaker 1: Helios had stolen the moon from its place in the
00:15:28
Speaker 1: sky and hidden it away so that Luna could not
00:15:33
Speaker 1: find it and bring light to the world tonight when
00:15:38
Speaker 1: he would be away. Bertie and Bobby felt terribly sorry
00:15:45
Speaker 1: for the goddess. The earth needed the moon on a night,
00:15:50
Speaker 1: otherwise how would they find their way in the dark.
00:15:56
Speaker 1: Bertie and Bobby promised to help the goddess find the
00:16:01
Speaker 1: moon and return it to its rightful place in the
00:16:06
Speaker 1: night sky with her. But where would they begin to look.
00:16:13
Speaker 1: Luna said that she had searched everywhere she possibly could. Unfortunately,
00:16:20
Speaker 1: Luna could not walk around on Earth anywhere in the
00:16:24
Speaker 1: direct sun, otherwise Helios would see her and stop her
00:16:30
Speaker 1: in her tracks, so she was resigned to searching in
00:16:35
Speaker 1: all the shaded and covered areas for the moon. Bertie
00:16:41
Speaker 1: and Bobby were determined to help the goddess, so they
00:16:46
Speaker 1: set out on their own search, vowing to not stop
00:16:51
Speaker 1: until they had found the moon again. The eager pair
00:16:57
Speaker 1: were very excited to help out to god death. The
00:17:01
Speaker 1: other animals would never believe them, but at least they
00:17:06
Speaker 1: knew it to be true. Bertie and Bobby retraced their
00:17:12
Speaker 1: steps around the side of the lake, but couldn't spot
00:17:16
Speaker 1: the moon amongst the crowds. They cooled over one of
00:17:22
Speaker 1: the colorful fish of the lake and asked if the
00:17:27
Speaker 1: moon had by chance been dropped under the water, but
00:17:33
Speaker 1: the fish had seen nothing. They knew that Luna would
00:17:38
Speaker 1: have checked the depths of the forest, as it was
00:17:41
Speaker 1: shaded for the most part, but she hadn't found the
00:17:45
Speaker 1: moon lurking amongst the trees or hidden in one of
00:17:50
Speaker 1: the bushes. So the bouncy duo decided to gather reinforcements
00:17:57
Speaker 1: to aid them on their quest. They reached out to
00:18:02
Speaker 1: a family of woodpeckers and asked them to help them
00:18:07
Speaker 1: in their search. If Bertie and Bobby could cover the
00:18:12
Speaker 1: land and the woodpeckers cover the sky and between them,
00:18:19
Speaker 1: surely they could track down the missing moon. As the
00:18:24
Speaker 1: woodpeckers soared off into the sky, Bertie and Bobby hopped
00:18:31
Speaker 1: out to the nearby fields, searching amongst the poppies and
00:18:37
Speaker 1: the lavender plants. Bobby darted in and out of the poppies,
00:18:44
Speaker 1: cooling out for the moon as he went, but he
00:18:47
Speaker 1: couldn't find anything. Once he had given up on the
00:18:53
Speaker 1: prospect of the poppy field, he raced to join Bertie,
00:19:00
Speaker 1: who had headed off to search the lavender fields. Bertie
00:19:06
Speaker 1: was still lethargic from his delightful nap by the side
00:19:11
Speaker 1: of the lake, and the lavender fields were not helping.
00:19:18
Speaker 1: As he ran through the pretty purple plants searching for
00:19:23
Speaker 1: the moon, he found himself yawning more and more as
00:19:29
Speaker 1: he went. The scent of lavender was so comforting, and
00:19:36
Speaker 1: he felt all of his troubles and cares melting away.
00:19:42
Speaker 1: As his running gradually became slower and slower, the power
00:19:50
Speaker 1: of the lavender plants overcoming him. He tried to resist
00:19:57
Speaker 1: at first, by the sweet surrender of sleep was calling him,
00:20:05
Speaker 1: and it was such a peaceful feeling that he couldn't
00:20:09
Speaker 1: help but give in. Bertie was soon fast asleep amongst
00:20:16
Speaker 1: the lavender pairring gently with every breath, having the sweetest
00:20:24
Speaker 1: of dreams. Bobby, on the other hand, had been lucky
00:20:32
Speaker 1: in the poppy fields and had remained true to his mission.
00:20:39
Speaker 1: As he approached the lavender field where Bertie had gone,
00:20:44
Speaker 1: he took a deep breath in and recognized the mesmerizing, beckoning,
00:20:53
Speaker 1: sweet scent of the sleep inducing plants. He knew that
00:21:00
Speaker 1: he went into that field, it was unlikely he would
00:21:05
Speaker 1: emerge again until he had enjoyed a long, deep sleep
00:21:12
Speaker 1: amongst the plants. By the time he would awaken, night
00:21:19
Speaker 1: would have already come and he would have failed the
00:21:23
Speaker 1: goddess Luna. Bobby decided to abandon the search of the
00:21:30
Speaker 1: lavender field and asked a friendly field mouse to stand
00:21:35
Speaker 1: watch over the lavender field, so that when Bertie eventually emerged,
00:21:42
Speaker 1: he would know to meet Bobby back at the lake.
00:21:48
Speaker 1: Bobby raced off back towards the forest with no time
00:21:54
Speaker 1: to lose. Taking a break, Bobby lee against a large
00:22:01
Speaker 1: tree trunk and thought hard. He had searched the lake,
00:22:09
Speaker 1: he had searched the fields. Luna had checked all of
00:22:14
Speaker 1: the dark spots of the forest. Where could the moon
00:22:19
Speaker 1: be hiding? The god Helios was clever to have hidden
00:22:26
Speaker 1: the moon from Luna so well. He knew that she
00:22:32
Speaker 1: would be limited in where she could search, because if
00:22:37
Speaker 1: he saw her out in the bright, open areas uncovered
00:22:42
Speaker 1: by the trees, then he would spot her and stop
00:22:47
Speaker 1: her immediately. And that's when Bobby suddenly had the idea
00:22:56
Speaker 1: of where the moon could be. Deep in the center
00:23:02
Speaker 1: of the forest, there was a clearing where the trees
00:23:07
Speaker 1: parted and a large waterfall stood proud. There were the
00:23:13
Speaker 1: most beautiful flowers and plants that he couldn't find anywhere
00:23:18
Speaker 1: else in the forest. They thrived in the sunlight. If
00:23:26
Speaker 1: Helios wanted to hide the moon somewhere that Luna couldn't
00:23:32
Speaker 1: easily get to without him seeing her, this would be
00:23:38
Speaker 1: the perfect place. He would spotter as soon as she
00:23:44
Speaker 1: set foot in the clearing, Bobby raced off deep into
00:23:51
Speaker 1: the forest. Convinced that he had figured out where the
00:23:56
Speaker 1: moon was hidden. He ran gracefully over the dirt tracks,
00:24:03
Speaker 1: dodging trees, and fallen branches, leaping over brooks and ignoring
00:24:10
Speaker 1: the greeting calls of fellow forest creatures. He was on
00:24:17
Speaker 1: a mission. He was soon joined in his race by
00:24:22
Speaker 1: the family of woodpeckers they had enlisted for help. As
00:24:28
Speaker 1: they flew above him, keeping up speed, the mother woodpecker
00:24:34
Speaker 1: called out, we have seen the moon, Bobby. It is
00:24:40
Speaker 1: in the great clearing of the forest. Bobby grinned with pride.
00:24:48
Speaker 1: I know that's where I'm heading right now. Together, Bobby
00:24:56
Speaker 1: and the woodpeckers journey through the forest until they came
00:25:02
Speaker 1: upon the entrance to the clearing. Bobby had never been
00:25:08
Speaker 1: to the clearing before, but had only heard of it.
00:25:13
Speaker 1: It was just as glorious as his mother had once described.
00:25:20
Speaker 1: The grass was greener than any Bobby had seen. It
00:25:26
Speaker 1: glistened like emeralds in the sunlight. Beds of flowers of
00:25:33
Speaker 1: all colors bloomed fully, sharing their gorgeous floral sense with
00:25:40
Speaker 1: the world. Bobby had never smelt anything so delightful. As
00:25:49
Speaker 1: he breathed it all in, all the fresh scents of
00:25:54
Speaker 1: the forest, he closed his eyes and basked in the
00:26:00
Speaker 1: tranquility of this moment. There were barely any sounds to
00:26:08
Speaker 1: be heard except the singing of the birds overhead and
00:26:13
Speaker 1: the trickling of the waterfall. The Great Waterfall stood proudly
00:26:22
Speaker 1: with its blue waters gushing over and down the side
00:26:28
Speaker 1: of the mountain of rocks. The water gathered at the bottom,
00:26:35
Speaker 1: creating a breathtaking plunge pool that an array of birds
00:26:41
Speaker 1: were bathing in. A small, bright, multi colored rainbow curved
00:26:49
Speaker 1: its way from the falling water to the center of
00:26:54
Speaker 1: the pool, and at the bottom of the rainbow moon
00:27:02
Speaker 1: it bobbed in the water, discarded by the jealous god Helios.
00:27:11
Speaker 1: Bobby was delighted and started to approach the moon, but
00:27:18
Speaker 1: when he got to the side of the plunge pool,
00:27:22
Speaker 1: he realized something. The moon was in the middle of
00:27:28
Speaker 1: the water and Bobby cannot swim. What was he going
00:27:35
Speaker 1: to do? As Bobby looked around him for someone to help,
00:27:44
Speaker 1: he noticed a small rowing boat birthed to the side
00:27:50
Speaker 1: of the waterfall. His prayers had been answered. Bobby hopped
00:27:58
Speaker 1: on over to the boat. Inside it, there were two
00:28:04
Speaker 1: wooden paddles and a pile of thick rope. It was perfect.
00:28:13
Speaker 1: Bobby used his head to nudge the boat closer to
00:28:18
Speaker 1: the water, ready to jump inside when he heard a
00:28:24
Speaker 1: little voice cry out from behind, wait for me. Bobby
00:28:35
Speaker 1: turned around to see Bertie emerge from the forest and
00:28:41
Speaker 1: enter the lights of the clearing. He was so relieved
00:28:48
Speaker 1: to see his friend he didn't want to go on
00:28:53
Speaker 1: this adventure without him. Bertie met Bobby at the boat
00:29:00
Speaker 1: and proclaimed, I had the most lovely dreams in the
00:29:06
Speaker 1: lavender field, and when I woke, I knew exactly where
00:29:12
Speaker 1: to find the moon, and it brought me here to you.
00:29:18
Speaker 1: Bobby giggled and ordered his friend to jump inside the boat.
00:29:25
Speaker 1: Once they were both inside, they took a paddle each
00:29:30
Speaker 1: and rowed their way over to the moon. The moon
00:29:38
Speaker 1: was far too heavy to pull into their boat, so
00:29:43
Speaker 1: they decided to make the most of what they had.
00:29:49
Speaker 1: They pulled up close to the moon and wrapped the
00:29:54
Speaker 1: thick rope around it, creating a lassus of sorts. They
00:30:01
Speaker 1: then tied the end of the rope to the back
00:30:05
Speaker 1: of the boat and began rowing back to shore. They
00:30:12
Speaker 1: noticed that the sun was growing dimmer in the sky
00:30:17
Speaker 1: as they rowed, and the day would soon abruptly come
00:30:24
Speaker 1: to an end. They didn't have enough time to get
00:30:30
Speaker 1: the moon back to Luna for nightfall, and they weren't
00:30:35
Speaker 1: sure how they would move the moon once they got
00:30:39
Speaker 1: it to land. They were only small forest bunnies after all.
00:30:48
Speaker 1: Pulling up the land again, Bertie and Bobby pulled the
00:30:55
Speaker 1: rope holding the moon and brought it to They were
00:31:02
Speaker 1: so tired from all of the running and rowing of
00:31:08
Speaker 1: the day they weren't sure they had the energy to
00:31:13
Speaker 1: get back to Luna by the side of the lake
00:31:18
Speaker 1: to let her know they had found the moon. Just
00:31:24
Speaker 1: as they had almost given up hope of fulfilling their
00:31:29
Speaker 1: mission in time, the father from the Woodpecker family through
00:31:36
Speaker 1: out of the forest and landed by their side, following
00:31:44
Speaker 1: behind with Luna, the goddess of the moon. While the
00:31:52
Speaker 1: rest of the Woodpecker family had found Bobby, the father
00:31:59
Speaker 1: had informed Luna and brought her to the clearing to
00:32:06
Speaker 1: Luna was ecstatic to see that Bertie and Bobby had
00:32:13
Speaker 1: found the moon for her. She called out to them
00:32:19
Speaker 1: from the shade of the forest, Please bring the moon
00:32:25
Speaker 1: to me. Here. If I step out into the clearing,
00:32:32
Speaker 1: then Helios will see me. Bertie and Bobby looked at
00:32:40
Speaker 1: one another, worry creeping across their faces. How would they
00:32:48
Speaker 1: be able to pull the moon across the ground to
00:32:55
Speaker 1: the forest on their own, But before they could ask,
00:33:03
Speaker 1: the woodpecker family huddled together and grabbed the rope with
00:33:09
Speaker 1: their claws. Bertie and Bobby took the end of the rope,
00:33:17
Speaker 1: and working as a team, the group of tiny animals
00:33:24
Speaker 1: pulled and dragged the moon from the water all the
00:33:30
Speaker 1: way across the lush green ground to Luna. Hidden beneath
00:33:39
Speaker 1: the trees. She leapt forward and embraced the moon as
00:33:47
Speaker 1: if it were an old friend. As she held it,
00:33:54
Speaker 1: a half moon crescent began to glow on her feet.
00:34:01
Speaker 1: She had been reunited with her purpose and her power source.
00:34:10
Speaker 1: Thank you so much, all of you, she said gratefully.
00:34:18
Speaker 1: Now I must hurry. Night is almost upon us, and
00:34:24
Speaker 1: I need to put the moon back in time. Lunar
00:34:32
Speaker 1: leant forward and placed a gentle kiss on the forehead
00:34:39
Speaker 1: of Bertie and Bobby, and stroked the backs of the
00:34:45
Speaker 1: family of woodpeckers. Then she wrapped her arms around the moon,
00:34:54
Speaker 1: closed her eyes, and as they crescent on her forehead
00:35:00
Speaker 1: began to glow, she disappeared magically in a haze of
00:35:09
Speaker 1: silver light. Bertie and Bobby were so happy that they
00:35:17
Speaker 1: had been able to help the Goddess Luna, and as
00:35:23
Speaker 1: night fell and the sun disappeared in the sky, they
00:35:30
Speaker 1: watched with pride as the full moon shone brightly in
00:35:37
Speaker 1: its rightful place. Bertie and Bobby decided not to return
00:35:45
Speaker 1: home that night. Instead, they made themselves the bed by
00:35:54
Speaker 1: the side of the waterfall with the night sky, as
00:35:59
Speaker 1: the blanket stars twinkled overhead and the moon watched over
00:36:09
Speaker 1: them no doubt along the side the Goddess Lunar. They
00:36:18
Speaker 1: were exhausted from the adventures of the day, and they
00:36:24
Speaker 1: curled up close to each other for warms. As Bertie
00:36:32
Speaker 1: rolled over to his side, he gazed out at the
00:36:38
Speaker 1: plunge pool miraculously, as if they knew. A shoal of
00:36:46
Speaker 1: silver fish began to gracefully leap out of the water,
00:36:53
Speaker 1: dancing and twirling in mid air, before plunging back into
00:37:03
Speaker 1: the water as if they had never been there at all.
00:37:10
Speaker 1: Bertie liked to think that this was the Goddess Lunar's
00:37:16
Speaker 1: way of saying thank you one last time. As the
00:37:26
Speaker 1: silver fish danced in the moonlight, Bertie watched them until
00:37:34
Speaker 1: his eyes grew heavier and heavier, and he could no
00:37:41
Speaker 1: longer watch. As he fell into a much deserved slumber,
