Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Coco Sleep, a podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:20
Speaker 1: a dream. A big hello and welcome to our new
00:00:24
Speaker 1: Coco Club members, Penny Aubrey, Aiden, Elliott, Levi, Aurora, Abel, Alana, Verrelia,
00:00:34
Speaker 1: Emelie and Ophelia. You're all in for quite a ride
00:00:39
Speaker 1: in tonight's bedtime story. It's a true flight of fancy,
00:00:43
Speaker 1: that is the stuff dreams are made of. Or could
00:00:47
Speaker 1: it be true? It's a fact that in our world
00:00:51
Speaker 1: pigs can't fly. But as many of you well know
00:00:55
Speaker 1: by now, in Sleepy Forest, anything and everything is. Tonight,
00:01:02
Speaker 1: we're going to hear all about one young pig called Pippy,
00:01:06
Speaker 1: who is lucky enough to have been born with the
00:01:09
Speaker 1: ability to fly. That's right, she has wings, and by
00:01:14
Speaker 1: marshaling her positive, happy thoughts, she can lift herself off
00:01:19
Speaker 1: the ground and into the sky. The question is is
00:01:24
Speaker 1: she good enough to compete in a very special race
00:01:29
Speaker 1: reserved only for winged creatures. Let's find out. Hop into bed,
00:01:37
Speaker 1: snuggle down under your covers, close your eyes and take
00:01:43
Speaker 1: some lovely deep breaths in and out. Relax your hands
00:01:49
Speaker 1: and feet. Have a little wriggle. If you need right,
00:01:55
Speaker 1: I think it's time to begin. Pippy the Flying Pig
00:02:00
Speaker 1: by Alicia Ainslie in the harsh of sleepy Forest was
00:02:12
Speaker 1: a farm. This farm was like no other you have
00:02:15
Speaker 1: heard of before. Fee See, all the animals on this
00:02:19
Speaker 1: farm were extra special. They could all talk. There were
00:02:24
Speaker 1: chattering cows and gossiping sheep, outspoken pigs, and fast talking chickens,
00:02:31
Speaker 1: as well as sweet talking horses and gabbling geese, all
00:02:35
Speaker 1: living together on this farm. The animals were so clever
00:02:40
Speaker 1: they could all look after themselves, but the farmer worked
00:02:44
Speaker 1: hard anyway, tending crops for them to eat and bringing
00:02:47
Speaker 1: them everything they needed. Plus, you lent a listening ear
00:02:51
Speaker 1: from time to time to whatever chattering animal needed one.
00:02:56
Speaker 1: Aside from their chattiness, the animals fairly normal, except for one.
00:03:04
Speaker 1: On one dark, starry night, the farmer was enjoying his
00:03:09
Speaker 1: dinner in his farmhouse when he heard a cacophony of
00:03:12
Speaker 1: grunting coming from the pigpen. The pigs were usually fast
00:03:17
Speaker 1: asleep by now, so he thought it very peculiar. The
00:03:21
Speaker 1: farmer rose from his dinner table and wandered out to
00:03:25
Speaker 1: the pigpen. The beam of sunlight shone down onto the
00:03:30
Speaker 1: pigpen like a spotlight on a stage. It was very unusual,
00:03:37
Speaker 1: But what was even more unusual was that nestled in
00:03:41
Speaker 1: the corner of the pen was a tiny little piglet.
00:03:47
Speaker 1: At first glance, the farmer was ecstatic to see that
00:03:50
Speaker 1: a new piglet had been born on his farm, But
00:03:54
Speaker 1: when he looked closer, he noticed something blew him away.
00:04:02
Speaker 1: Sprouting out of the piglet's pink back was a pair
00:04:07
Speaker 1: of small, feathery white wings. The farmer stepped closer to
00:04:17
Speaker 1: take a better look than the tiny piglet gazed up
00:04:21
Speaker 1: at him with her big brown eyes and snorted a
00:04:25
Speaker 1: cheerful greeting. Her coiled up tail began to wag like
00:04:30
Speaker 1: an excited puppy, and her feathery wings started to flutter
00:04:36
Speaker 1: on her back. To the piglet's own amazement, she lifted
00:04:41
Speaker 1: up into the air, aided by her miraculous wings, and
00:04:46
Speaker 1: she magically hovered in front of the farmer's face. The
00:04:52
Speaker 1: farmer caught the tiny piglet before she could float away,
00:04:56
Speaker 1: and he cradled her in his arms affectionately. The baby
00:05:01
Speaker 1: piggy snorted with happiness and fell asleep in his arms.
00:05:07
Speaker 1: The farmer was smitten and named her Pippy. Pippy grew
00:05:14
Speaker 1: up alongside the other pigs on the farm. The farmer
00:05:17
Speaker 1: never treated her any more favorably than the others, but
00:05:21
Speaker 1: Pippy had understandably become somewhat of a celebrity in Sleepy Forest.
00:05:27
Speaker 1: Nobody had ever seen a flying pig before, and so
00:05:31
Speaker 1: creatures came from all over to visit the farm just
00:05:35
Speaker 1: to see Pippy and get her autograph. Pippy was always
00:05:40
Speaker 1: very gracious and posed for pictures with her fans and
00:05:45
Speaker 1: the other farmyard animals delighted in all the visitors who
00:05:48
Speaker 1: came by and brought them treats. They loved all the
00:05:52
Speaker 1: attention too. Do you like being a celebrity, Pippy, Polly
00:05:58
Speaker 1: the pig asked, day I would love to be famous.
00:06:05
Speaker 1: Perry the piglet added, I love the idea of everyone
00:06:11
Speaker 1: knowing my name and thinking I'm amazing. Pippy nodded her
00:06:18
Speaker 1: head modestly and admitted that it was nice being so
00:06:23
Speaker 1: well known. Everybody was always very complimentary and kind when
00:06:28
Speaker 1: they came to meet her, but Pippy did sometimes wish
00:06:32
Speaker 1: that she was known for something more spectacular than just
00:06:37
Speaker 1: her wings. Yes, she could fly and the other pigs couldn't,
00:06:41
Speaker 1: but she hadn't really achieved anything impressive using her wings.
00:06:47
Speaker 1: She simply had been born with them, and every now
00:06:51
Speaker 1: and then she would float around with them and show
00:06:55
Speaker 1: off her miraculous skills when fans came to see her
00:06:58
Speaker 1: on the farm. Pippy longed for an opportunity to use
00:07:04
Speaker 1: her wings to do something impressive. Pasha Pig suddenly had
00:07:11
Speaker 1: an idea and suggested, if you want to do something
00:07:17
Speaker 1: impressive with your wings, Pippy, why don't you enter the
00:07:22
Speaker 1: Fantasy Flying Race. Pasha pointed to a poster stuck to
00:07:28
Speaker 1: one of the nearby trees, and Pippy floated over to
00:07:32
Speaker 1: inspect it. It was an advertisement asking for contestants to
00:07:38
Speaker 1: compete in an upcoming race through the skies. All creatures
00:07:43
Speaker 1: that could fly were welcome to join in the race
00:07:47
Speaker 1: to see who was the fastest flier in Sleepy Forest.
00:07:52
Speaker 1: The winner would win a special trophy and two vouchers
00:07:57
Speaker 1: for dinners at the all you can eat buffet. Pippy
00:08:02
Speaker 1: licked her lips at the thought of going to a
00:08:05
Speaker 1: restaurant where she could eat as much as her piggy
00:08:09
Speaker 1: belly desired, but the bit that piqued her interest the
00:08:13
Speaker 1: most was the thought of winning the trophy for the
00:08:18
Speaker 1: fastest flier. If Pippy won that race, then she would
00:08:24
Speaker 1: finally feel like she had achieved something to warrant being
00:08:30
Speaker 1: so famous. Pippy looked at the date of the race.
00:08:35
Speaker 1: It was next Saturday. She had one week to prepare
00:08:39
Speaker 1: and train for the race, so she set to work immediately.
00:08:45
Speaker 1: Pippy's feathery wings were healthy and strong, and she regularly
00:08:50
Speaker 1: used them to float around the farm. However, she had
00:08:54
Speaker 1: never truly pushed her flying skills to find out her
00:08:58
Speaker 1: full potential. She had always been cautious not to fly
00:09:03
Speaker 1: up too high in the sky in case she lost
00:09:07
Speaker 1: sight of the farm and couldn't find her way back.
00:09:11
Speaker 1: She had also never pushed her wings to the limit
00:09:15
Speaker 1: to see how fast she could go. Pippy didn't want
00:09:20
Speaker 1: to get to the race and test it all out
00:09:23
Speaker 1: for the first time, so she set to work practicing.
00:09:28
Speaker 1: On the first day of training, she enlisted the help
00:09:32
Speaker 1: of a giraffe to help her bravely rise up into
00:09:35
Speaker 1: the air as high as she could. She felt comforted
00:09:40
Speaker 1: by having a giraffe by her side. They were used
00:09:43
Speaker 1: to having their heads up in the trees and close
00:09:46
Speaker 1: to the clouds so they could help her get used
00:09:50
Speaker 1: to such tummy turning heights. Pippy met up with Gingy,
00:09:55
Speaker 1: the giraffe, who had kindly offered to help. Pippy had
00:10:00
Speaker 1: to crane her head to look up at her training partner.
00:10:05
Speaker 1: Gingy was perfect. Pippy could hardly see her face from
00:10:10
Speaker 1: so low down on the ground. It was time to
00:10:14
Speaker 1: get used to floating up to the tops of the trees.
00:10:20
Speaker 1: Pippy was a little nervous, but her coach, Gingy, was
00:10:25
Speaker 1: patient and reassuring. Gingy instructed Pippy to take a deep
00:10:31
Speaker 1: breath and relax, try not to overthink it. Gingy recommended,
00:10:41
Speaker 1: how do you usually make yourself fly? Pippy thought, when
00:10:48
Speaker 1: Pippy flew, it was usually because she was happy or excited.
00:10:54
Speaker 1: Gingy smiled, that was perfect, Gingy. Or close your eyes
00:11:03
Speaker 1: and think about something that makes you happy. Pippy did
00:11:10
Speaker 1: as she was told, shut her eyes and started thinking
00:11:13
Speaker 1: about her friends on the farm. She remembered how the
00:11:18
Speaker 1: geese had made her laugh this morning as they chased
00:11:22
Speaker 1: each other around the yard, and her wings began to flutter.
00:11:29
Speaker 1: Pippy took a deep breath and relaxed as she recalled
00:11:33
Speaker 1: this happy memory. Her wings began to flap hup and down,
00:11:41
Speaker 1: lifting her body off the ground. Good Gingy encouraged her
00:11:48
Speaker 1: keep thinking those happy thoughts and keep breathing. As Pippy's
00:11:56
Speaker 1: piggy body floated higher and higher into the air, she
00:12:00
Speaker 1: felt her happiness growing and growing. She felt as light
00:12:06
Speaker 1: as a feather, and her heart felt warm and fuzzy
00:12:11
Speaker 1: from all the good thoughts. After a few moments, Gingy
00:12:17
Speaker 1: told Pippy to open her eyes. As Pippy did, she
00:12:24
Speaker 1: realized that she was face to face with the tall giraffe.
00:12:30
Speaker 1: Pippy glanced down at the forest floor and realized that
00:12:35
Speaker 1: she had floated up so high that she could touch
00:12:39
Speaker 1: the tree tops if she wanted. The flowers below looked
00:12:43
Speaker 1: like tiny, colorful dots from up here. Pippy grinned and
00:12:49
Speaker 1: snorted with joy. She had never risen up so high before.
00:12:55
Speaker 1: This was ideal practice for her to get used to
00:12:59
Speaker 1: flying high for the race. She hugged Gingy around her long,
00:13:05
Speaker 1: slender neck and thanked her for her patients and effective coaching.
00:13:12
Speaker 1: On the second day, Pippy decided to practice flying as
00:13:17
Speaker 1: fast as she could. The fastest animals she knew were
00:13:22
Speaker 1: the horses on the farm. They were always racing around.
00:13:27
Speaker 1: Pippy and the horses assembled at the edge of the
00:13:30
Speaker 1: farmer's field, just on the outskirts of Sleepy Forest. The
00:13:36
Speaker 1: plan was that the horses would gallop across the field
00:13:40
Speaker 1: to the other side, and Pippy would race them, using
00:13:44
Speaker 1: her wings rather than her legs. Pippy brought along her
00:13:49
Speaker 1: friend Pasha Pig to be the referee and time Pippy
00:13:54
Speaker 1: on her stopwatch. Pippy and the horses lined up. Pasha
00:14:01
Speaker 1: set the timer and counted down three, two, one go.
00:14:10
Speaker 1: The horses shot off across the field like cannon balls,
00:14:15
Speaker 1: and Pippy flapped her wings as hard as she could
00:14:18
Speaker 1: to follow them. By the time Pippy reached the other side,
00:14:23
Speaker 1: all of the horses had beaten her, and Pippy was exhausted.
00:14:29
Speaker 1: The horses reassured Pippy that she would get faster. Don't worry, Pippy,
00:14:37
Speaker 1: they said, we've been running and racing for years. You
00:14:43
Speaker 1: will get faster every time you practice. So they all
00:14:48
Speaker 1: waited for Pippy to catch her breath before they raced
00:14:52
Speaker 1: again back to the other side of the field. Pippy
00:14:58
Speaker 1: was disappointed when she came in last again, but Pasha
00:15:03
Speaker 1: was timing her and declared that Pippy had beaten her
00:15:07
Speaker 1: speed in the race before by five seconds. That's amazing, Pippy.
00:15:15
Speaker 1: The horses cheered, You're already getting faster. Pippy and the
00:15:23
Speaker 1: horses continued to race and practice every day in the
00:15:29
Speaker 1: build up to the Fantasy Flying Race, and every day
00:15:34
Speaker 1: Pippy got faster and faster. By the time Friday came around,
00:15:41
Speaker 1: Pippy had beaten all of the horses to the other
00:15:44
Speaker 1: side of the field. Pasha Pig winked at Pippy and said,
00:15:52
Speaker 1: practice makes perfect. Pippy was ecstatic and felt much more
00:15:59
Speaker 1: confident about competing in the Fantasy Flying Race than she
00:16:03
Speaker 1: had at the start of the week. The night before
00:16:08
Speaker 1: the race, Pippy went to bed early. She wanted to
00:16:13
Speaker 1: make sure she was as well rested as possible for
00:16:16
Speaker 1: the next day. All night long, she dreamt of soaring
00:16:23
Speaker 1: through the clouds and feeling the wind in her piggy ears.
00:16:28
Speaker 1: It was a blissful dream. No matter what happened tomorrow,
00:16:34
Speaker 1: she would be the first pig to ever compete in
00:16:38
Speaker 1: a flying race. On the day of the Fantasy Flying Race,
00:16:45
Speaker 1: Pippy headed to the starting point, followed by a crowd
00:16:49
Speaker 1: of supporters from the farm. All of the pigs from
00:16:54
Speaker 1: her pen came along to cheer her on, as did
00:16:59
Speaker 1: the horse who helped her train, Gingy the giraffe, and
00:17:04
Speaker 1: of course, the gobbling geese. Pippy approached the starting line nervously.
00:17:14
Speaker 1: She had never taken part in a race before, and
00:17:18
Speaker 1: certainly not a flying one. She was a little nervous
00:17:23
Speaker 1: to fly alongside more established flying animals like the birds, unicorns,
00:17:30
Speaker 1: and fairies. What if she couldn't keep up and came
00:17:35
Speaker 1: in last. As she lined up, she looked to her
00:17:41
Speaker 1: side and took note of the creatures she was competing against.
00:17:47
Speaker 1: There was a great bald eagle with enormous wings, and
00:17:53
Speaker 1: a teeny gray bat hanging upside down from a nearby
00:17:57
Speaker 1: tree branch. Spotted a bumblebee lining up, along with a
00:18:04
Speaker 1: scattering of other pretty bugs like butterflies and ladybirds. There
00:18:10
Speaker 1: were a few fairies and pixies, and even a young
00:18:15
Speaker 1: dragon had joined the race. A unicorn with large white
00:18:20
Speaker 1: wings primped and posed as they waited, and Pippy found
00:18:26
Speaker 1: herself growing increasingly nervous. All of these animals must have
00:18:34
Speaker 1: had much more practice than she had, and Pippy was
00:18:38
Speaker 1: starting to feel a little inferior. Maybe she shouldn't compete
00:18:44
Speaker 1: in the race and remain on the ground just like
00:18:48
Speaker 1: all the other pigs. Pippy turned around and looked at
00:18:54
Speaker 1: her group of friends who had come to support her.
00:18:58
Speaker 1: She was about to tell them that she wanted to
00:19:00
Speaker 1: quit the race before it even began, when she noticed
00:19:05
Speaker 1: what they were holding. Her friends had painted a big,
00:19:10
Speaker 1: long banner to support her. The banner read we love
00:19:16
Speaker 1: you Pippy, and they were all wearing T shirts with
00:19:21
Speaker 1: an image of her on their T shirt said Pippy
00:19:26
Speaker 1: the Flying Piggy the greatest hovering hog in the world.
00:19:33
Speaker 1: Pippy laughed and grinned at her friends. They didn't care
00:19:38
Speaker 1: whether she won or not. They already loved her and
00:19:43
Speaker 1: thought she was incredible, and that wouldn't change by what
00:19:47
Speaker 1: place she came in the race. Pippy took a deep
00:19:52
Speaker 1: breath and thought about how happy her friends made her.
00:19:58
Speaker 1: Her feathery wings began to flutter and buzz with warmth.
00:20:03
Speaker 1: She was ready to race. The referee arrived and all
00:20:10
Speaker 1: of the animals competing in the race took up their
00:20:13
Speaker 1: starting positions. The referee was a little penguin. The flightless
00:20:20
Speaker 1: bird might not be able to join in the race,
00:20:24
Speaker 1: but at least he could still be a part of
00:20:27
Speaker 1: it in some way. The penguin referee instructed the competitors
00:20:36
Speaker 1: to fly through the sky to the finish line on
00:20:40
Speaker 1: the edge of the forest. When he blew his whistle.
00:20:44
Speaker 1: At the finish line, another flightless bird, an Ostrich, was
00:20:50
Speaker 1: waiting to announce the winner. The finish line was signposted
00:20:55
Speaker 1: by a big purple flag that they would all be
00:20:59
Speaker 1: able to see when they lifted up into the air.
00:21:04
Speaker 1: The penguin began the countdown five four, three, two, one go.
00:21:18
Speaker 1: Every flying animal at the starting line used their wings
00:21:23
Speaker 1: to rise up into the air, and they set off.
00:21:28
Speaker 1: All of the animals who had come to watch began
00:21:32
Speaker 1: cheering them on, and Pippy's excitement made her wings flap
00:21:37
Speaker 1: harder and harder, so much so that she rose higher
00:21:42
Speaker 1: up into the air than she had ever been before.
00:21:47
Speaker 1: The forest floor and her friends below disappeared out of sight.
00:21:54
Speaker 1: She lifted up past the trees and into the open sky,
00:22:00
Speaker 1: close enough to touch the clouds, just like in her
00:22:06
Speaker 1: dream last night. Pippy looked round for the purple flag
00:22:12
Speaker 1: that signified the finish line. At first, she couldn't spot it.
00:22:19
Speaker 1: Pippy's piggy eyes couldn't see very far ahead, but she
00:22:25
Speaker 1: noticed that all the other animals were heading in the
00:22:29
Speaker 1: same direction, so she decided to follow their lead. Flapping
00:22:37
Speaker 1: her wings as hard as she could, and spurred on
00:22:41
Speaker 1: by the sounds of her friends cheering below, Pippy flew
00:22:46
Speaker 1: as fast as she could through the sky. As she flew,
00:22:52
Speaker 1: Pippy felt the wind blow through her ears, and she
00:22:56
Speaker 1: had never felt freer up here in the sky. There
00:23:03
Speaker 1: was so much space to fly, and the possibilities of
00:23:08
Speaker 1: where to go felt endless. Pippy was having so much
00:23:14
Speaker 1: fun that she momentarily forgot that she was competing in
00:23:19
Speaker 1: a race. The bumblebee buzzed past her ear, pulling Pippy
00:23:27
Speaker 1: out of her reverie and reminding her that she had
00:23:31
Speaker 1: better focus if she wanted to win the race. Pippy
00:23:36
Speaker 1: diverted her attention forward and flapped her wings as fast
00:23:40
Speaker 1: as she could. She picked up speed and jetted forward
00:23:46
Speaker 1: through the air, surpassing the leisurely fairies and the fluttering butterflies.
00:23:53
Speaker 1: She could see the dragon's mighty wings soaring ahead and
00:23:58
Speaker 1: the eagle pushing forward with ease. Pippy, the piggy, flew
00:24:06
Speaker 1: as fast as she could, but she was growing more
00:24:09
Speaker 1: and more tired with every flap of her wings. She
00:24:15
Speaker 1: had never had to race against such fast animals before.
00:24:20
Speaker 1: These well established fliers were even faster than the horses
00:24:26
Speaker 1: she had trained with. Pippy was starting to feel a
00:24:30
Speaker 1: little out of her depths. What would everybody think of
00:24:35
Speaker 1: her if she didn't win the race. She didn't want
00:24:40
Speaker 1: to let anyone down. Pippy kept flying as fast as
00:24:46
Speaker 1: she could, even when she felt like giving up. She
00:24:51
Speaker 1: pushed forward and thought of how great she would feel
00:24:55
Speaker 1: when she reached the finishing line, having tried her best.
00:25:01
Speaker 1: To her surprise, eventually Pippy passed the unicorn and caught
00:25:06
Speaker 1: up with the dragon and bald eagle. They were just
00:25:11
Speaker 1: as surprised to see Pippy, the flying piggy, soaring next
00:25:15
Speaker 1: to them. Wow, little pig, you're doing well, the dragon
00:25:22
Speaker 1: commented with a smile. The bald eagle nodded, yus, I
00:25:29
Speaker 1: never thought i'd see the day when a pig flew
00:25:35
Speaker 1: let alone next to me in a race. Pippy stifled
00:25:42
Speaker 1: a smug smile and thanked them for their compliments. She
00:25:47
Speaker 1: kept focused on what was ahead, and in the distance,
00:25:52
Speaker 1: at the edge of the forest, she spotted a purple
00:25:55
Speaker 1: flag waving in the wind. It was the finish line
00:26:03
Speaker 1: The bald eagle and the young dragon noticed it right
00:26:07
Speaker 1: at the same time, and they all looked from one
00:26:11
Speaker 1: to the other, smiling competitively. Last one to the finish
00:26:18
Speaker 1: line is a rotten egg, the bald eagle cried, before
00:26:23
Speaker 1: swooping down towards the purple flag in the distance. The
00:26:29
Speaker 1: dragon followed suit, and Pippy steered herself to follow them.
00:26:36
Speaker 1: She hadn't quite mastered landing yet, but there was no
00:26:41
Speaker 1: time to overthink it. She was in the final race
00:26:46
Speaker 1: to first place. Pippy, the flying piggy, zoomed down towards
00:26:52
Speaker 1: the ground, hot on the heels of the eagle and dragon.
00:26:59
Speaker 1: As the purple flag and the ground came clearer into sight,
00:27:04
Speaker 1: she could see that all of her friends from the
00:27:07
Speaker 1: farm had gathered at the finish line, ready to celebrate.
00:27:12
Speaker 1: When she landed, Pippy flapped her wings with all her might,
00:27:19
Speaker 1: using up all the last dregs of energy she had
00:27:23
Speaker 1: left inside. She caught up with the eagle and the dragon,
00:27:29
Speaker 1: and they all flew head to head towards the purple flag.
00:27:37
Speaker 1: As the three animals sped towards the finish line, the
00:27:42
Speaker 1: sound of the crowd cheering filled their ears, and Pippy
00:27:48
Speaker 1: felt elated she had done it. She had competed in
00:27:54
Speaker 1: the flying race. She passed the finish line and her
00:27:58
Speaker 1: trotters touched the ground triumphantly. Her farm yard friends rushed
00:28:05
Speaker 1: forward and embraced her in a congratulatory hug. You were incredible, Pippy,
00:28:14
Speaker 1: they exclaimed. Did you know you're the first pig to
00:28:20
Speaker 1: fly in the sky and next to a dragon? No less,
00:28:26
Speaker 1: Another friend whooped, You're a winner in our eyes, Pippy,
00:28:33
Speaker 1: regardless of where you have come in the race, Gingy
00:28:37
Speaker 1: the giraffe added, Towering over her farmyard friends, Pippy felt
00:28:44
Speaker 1: amazing and like she finally had a reason to be
00:28:50
Speaker 1: known for her unusual wings and her magnificent flying abilities.
00:28:57
Speaker 1: Not many other animals could say they had done what
00:29:00
Speaker 1: she had done. But now it was time to find
00:29:05
Speaker 1: out where she had come in the race. The Ostrich
00:29:11
Speaker 1: at the finish line and the penguin from the start
00:29:14
Speaker 1: conferred and checked in every animal as they crossed the
00:29:19
Speaker 1: finish line. Once the final fairy and butterfly had reached
00:29:25
Speaker 1: the end, everyone gathered around to find out who had
00:29:31
Speaker 1: come in first place. The ostrich and the penguin stepped
00:29:38
Speaker 1: up onto a large tree stump and gazed down at
00:29:43
Speaker 1: the crowd. With the winner's trophy propped between them. Pippy
00:29:49
Speaker 1: stared at the shiny gold trophy and admired its splendor.
00:29:56
Speaker 1: It would look lovely in her pig pen, she thought.
00:30:02
Speaker 1: The crowd fell silent as the Ostrich announced that the
00:30:07
Speaker 1: winner of the Fantasy Flying Race was the Bald Eagle.
00:30:14
Speaker 1: Everyone clapped and cheered in congratulations, even Pippy. Pippy was
00:30:21
Speaker 1: a little disappointed that she didn't win, but she was
00:30:25
Speaker 1: still proud of herself for how well she had done.
00:30:30
Speaker 1: In fact, the Ostrich claimed that it was so close
00:30:35
Speaker 1: between the Bald Eagle, the Dragon, and Pippy the Flying
00:30:40
Speaker 1: Piggy that they wanted to award two runner up prizes
00:30:45
Speaker 1: to Pippy and the Dragon for their valor in the race.
00:30:50
Speaker 1: The penguin presented each of them with a mini silver
00:30:55
Speaker 1: trophy to take home, and Pippy's friend in the crowd
00:31:01
Speaker 1: went wild. Pippy couldn't stop smiling. She had never been
00:31:09
Speaker 1: prouder of herself. Pippy and her friends returned to the
00:31:14
Speaker 1: farmyard that evening and placed her runner up trophy in
00:31:19
Speaker 1: pride of place in the middle of their pigpen. They
00:31:24
Speaker 1: wanted everybody who came by to be able to see
00:31:28
Speaker 1: the trophy and know just how impressive Pippy the Flying
00:31:34
Speaker 1: Pig really was. Pippy gazed at her silver trophy with
00:31:41
Speaker 1: satisfaction and gratitude, not only for her fabulous wings that
00:31:49
Speaker 1: she had been lucky enough to be born with, but
00:31:52
Speaker 1: also for her wonderful friends that supported her to no end,
00:31:59
Speaker 1: and her own nobility to persevere when things got tough.
00:32:07
Speaker 1: Pippy finally felt worthy of her fame. She waggled her
00:32:14
Speaker 1: wings and snuffled her snout. Everything felt possible now. She
00:32:22
Speaker 1: drifted off into a well deserved nap, dreaming of all
00:32:29
Speaker 1: the future flying adventures she was going to take now
00:32:36
Speaker 1: she had learnt to spread her wings
