Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Cocos Sleep, a podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:20
Speaker 1: a dream. Before we begin, a big hello to Desmond
00:00:24
Speaker 1: and Eliana, Meela, Jack, Elaina, Georgia and Jack and Sybil,
00:00:31
Speaker 1: a bouncy little puppy who also falls asleep when she listens,
00:00:35
Speaker 1: along with her owner Hayden. Thank you for subscribing and
00:00:39
Speaker 1: for joining the coolest club in town, the Cocoa Club.
00:00:43
Speaker 1: We love having you. Tonight, We're not in Sleepy Forest
00:00:48
Speaker 1: with Coco's friends and family. No, Nor are we under
00:00:52
Speaker 1: the sea with Zen. Nor are we in the skies
00:00:55
Speaker 1: with the dream Keepers. Nor are we in the Leora
00:00:59
Speaker 1: School of me Nope. Tonight, we are in the middle
00:01:05
Speaker 1: of almost nowhere. More specifically, we are at the side
00:01:10
Speaker 1: of a long road between two towns, where a bright
00:01:14
Speaker 1: neon sign shines from the roof of a cozy, welcoming
00:01:19
Speaker 1: diner run by two cats named Potato and Beans. This
00:01:24
Speaker 1: story was inspired by Lily, who came up with the
00:01:27
Speaker 1: idea of a cat named Potato, and Olympia, who has
00:01:30
Speaker 1: a cat named Beans. We thought the two of them
00:01:33
Speaker 1: would be good friends. Olympia, there are characters inspired by
00:01:37
Speaker 1: your other pets too, so listen closely before we find
00:01:42
Speaker 1: out more. Let's make sure we're ready to relax. Close
00:01:46
Speaker 1: the curtains, dim the lights down, and hop into bed.
00:01:53
Speaker 1: Close your eyes and take a few moments to breathe
00:01:56
Speaker 1: in and out in for two an out before snuggle
00:02:05
Speaker 1: down a little bit more. And imagine you're lying under
00:02:08
Speaker 1: a vast blanket of shimmering stars, where there's no building
00:02:14
Speaker 1: in sight except for a cozy, welcoming diner glowing with
00:02:22
Speaker 1: golden light. This is where we'll begin our story. Potato
00:02:28
Speaker 1: and Beans, the roller skating Diner, Cats Bias Susannah McLaughlin.
00:02:40
Speaker 1: In the middle of almost nowhere, at the side of
00:02:43
Speaker 1: a long road between two towns, a bright red neon
00:02:48
Speaker 1: sign bust It read Potato and Beans Diner and adorned
00:02:55
Speaker 1: the roof of the coziest most welcoming diner around the
00:03:00
Speaker 1: Under the twinkling stars and rugged mountains. Perched on the
00:03:04
Speaker 1: sandy plains, two cats worked their socks off to feed
00:03:10
Speaker 1: travelers of all shapes, species and sizes as they passed
00:03:16
Speaker 1: through on their journeys. One of the cats was white
00:03:20
Speaker 1: with long, fluffy fursplodged with brown and amber eyes. This
00:03:26
Speaker 1: cat was called Beams. The other was a brown, round
00:03:31
Speaker 1: cat with big green eyes. This cat was called Potato.
00:03:38
Speaker 1: They were always there to lend a listening ear or
00:03:42
Speaker 1: to tell a tale, and they often found themselves carried
00:03:47
Speaker 1: away on adventures with the customers that passed through their doors.
00:03:53
Speaker 1: On this particular afternoon, as usual, the diner was buzzing
00:03:58
Speaker 1: with life. It was the height of summer, and there
00:04:01
Speaker 1: had been a steady stream of travelers all day, stopping
00:04:05
Speaker 1: off for a cold milkshake or a meal in the
00:04:09
Speaker 1: refreshing cool of the diner. Missus Pig had been working
00:04:13
Speaker 1: hard in the kitchen all day, frying eggs and pancakes
00:04:17
Speaker 1: and baking sweet cakes and pies. Missus Pig was used
00:04:22
Speaker 1: to working hard. Ever since she was a piglet, she
00:04:26
Speaker 1: had loved cooking, and now it was second nature to her.
00:04:31
Speaker 1: She could whip up delicious concoctions from a seemingly empty cupboard,
00:04:36
Speaker 1: and she could chop a carrot faster than anyone for
00:04:39
Speaker 1: miles around. She had won prizes at the state fair
00:04:44
Speaker 1: for her peach pies, and some customers made road trips
00:04:49
Speaker 1: just to taste her famous mac and cheese. No matter
00:04:54
Speaker 1: how many tickets wafted overhead waiting for her to cook them,
00:04:59
Speaker 1: missus Pea never seemed to panic. She took it all
00:05:04
Speaker 1: in her stride, mixing, dolloping, sizzling and stirring without twitching
00:05:11
Speaker 1: a whisker on her chin or spilling a drop on
00:05:14
Speaker 1: her checkered pinafore. She was a kind, wise cook, and
00:05:19
Speaker 1: nothing made her happier than feeding hungry bellies and seeing
00:05:24
Speaker 1: her customers smile. Potato and beans had been whizzing around
00:05:30
Speaker 1: all day, too, waiting tables, taking orders, and making drinks.
00:05:36
Speaker 1: Sometimes they wished they had eight arms like Ozzy, the
00:05:40
Speaker 1: dish washing octopus. Sometimes they felt a little envious of
00:05:45
Speaker 1: his job. He soaked in the soapy sink water, washing
00:05:49
Speaker 1: and drying pots and dishes, but he worked as hard
00:05:55
Speaker 1: as anyone. From his bubbly corner blasting rock music. He
00:06:00
Speaker 1: scrubbed and wiped and toweled the rush of dishware that
00:06:04
Speaker 1: came his way. Around afternoon time, there was a lull
00:06:10
Speaker 1: in the visitors, and the two cats wiped their brows
00:06:14
Speaker 1: with the back of their paws and sighed a big
00:06:17
Speaker 1: sigh of relief. It had been a fun day, but
00:06:21
Speaker 1: they relished a quiet hour or two, quiet conversation and
00:06:27
Speaker 1: chuckling laughter filled the air of the diner from the
00:06:31
Speaker 1: customers who were seated in the red leather booths along
00:06:34
Speaker 1: the window. One particularly giddy mountain goat was told a
00:06:40
Speaker 1: joke by his kid across the table and burst out
00:06:45
Speaker 1: in eruptive snorting laughter. Beans and Potato looked at each
00:06:51
Speaker 1: other out of the corner of their eyes and smiled.
00:06:57
Speaker 1: The sound of happy customers was music to their ears.
00:07:03
Speaker 1: Potato climbed onto one of the bar stools, crossing her
00:07:07
Speaker 1: paws on the countertop, and Beans poured them each a
00:07:11
Speaker 1: glass of cold milk before sliding onto the chair beside her.
00:07:18
Speaker 1: Everyone's in a jolly good mood today, Beans said Potato.
00:07:24
Speaker 1: That's because it's summertime. Beans explained, everybody's happy because the
00:07:31
Speaker 1: sky is blue and they're on their way to their holidays.
00:07:37
Speaker 1: Potato nodded in understanding. Peering out the vast windows at
00:07:42
Speaker 1: the sky poking above the rocky mountains surrounding the valley,
00:07:48
Speaker 1: She looked around the diner. Where do you think they're going,
00:07:54
Speaker 1: she asked. Beans wrinkled her nose in consideration. Well, that
00:08:03
Speaker 1: mountain goat has shaved his beard and is wearing his
00:08:07
Speaker 1: smartest to Wian shirt. Beans observed. He it looks like
00:08:13
Speaker 1: they're headed for a fancy night out in town. And
00:08:17
Speaker 1: that little moose has a hat on from the space museum.
00:08:22
Speaker 1: It looks very new. I think he's headed home from
00:08:26
Speaker 1: space camp. You're very clever, Potato said, Let me try.
00:08:35
Speaker 1: Potato looked around the diner deep in concentration until an
00:08:40
Speaker 1: idea lit up in her eyes. I know, she said, proudly.
00:08:47
Speaker 1: That beaver has some kind of fashionable shoes attached to
00:08:51
Speaker 1: his back. He must be going to the big city
00:08:55
Speaker 1: for a fashion show. And those as some designer sunglasses
00:09:02
Speaker 1: in his pocket too. Beans smiled fondly at Potato. Those
00:09:10
Speaker 1: of flippers and goggles. Silly, she said, The beaver is
00:09:16
Speaker 1: going to the water park. Potato chuckled. She often got
00:09:22
Speaker 1: things wrong, but luckily Beans was always there to help
00:09:26
Speaker 1: her out. Hey, look a motorcycle, Potato exclaimed, pointing out
00:09:34
Speaker 1: of the window. A gleaming blue motorcycle zoomed up the
00:09:40
Speaker 1: road towards the diner, pulling in neatly by the entrance.
00:09:45
Speaker 1: Its rider got off, removing her big shiny helmet and
00:09:51
Speaker 1: protective overalls to reveal her identity as Sandy the Skunk.
00:09:57
Speaker 1: Sandy was a regular. She she shook her whole body,
00:10:02
Speaker 1: fluffing up her hairdo. She had big, poofy black hair
00:10:07
Speaker 1: with a white stripe running down the middle, and beautiful
00:10:11
Speaker 1: blue eyes. Sandy headed over to the counter and said
00:10:17
Speaker 1: hello to the two cats, who purred their hello in return.
00:10:22
Speaker 1: She told them she had just spent the day riding
00:10:25
Speaker 1: through the mountains in the search of new ingredients, wildflowers
00:10:30
Speaker 1: and herbs for her soap business. She poured out a
00:10:35
Speaker 1: blue flower with petals shaped like a trumpet and tucked
00:10:39
Speaker 1: it into Potato's collar, saying she had thought it would
00:10:43
Speaker 1: bring out the color in Potato's eyes. She was right,
00:10:48
Speaker 1: potatoes eyes were glowing. Sandy ordered her regular scrambled eggs
00:10:54
Speaker 1: and waffles and sat down at the corner table. Customers
00:11:00
Speaker 1: trickled in. A stocky, grouchy bulldog who arrived in a
00:11:06
Speaker 1: shiny blue car with the roof down, ordered some biscuits
00:11:10
Speaker 1: and gravy and took a seat at the counter. He
00:11:14
Speaker 1: didn't say much until he ate the last bite and
00:11:18
Speaker 1: smiled at potato and beans with a sheepish grin. Sorry,
00:11:24
Speaker 1: the bulldog said, I get grumpy when I'm hungry. I
00:11:30
Speaker 1: feel better now. Potato beamed at him and said, that's okay.
00:11:36
Speaker 1: Beans gets grumpy when she's hungry too. Missus Pig always
00:11:42
Speaker 1: makes sure to send lunch through on time so that
00:11:45
Speaker 1: Bean stays chirpy and doesn't fall asleep at the counter,
00:11:49
Speaker 1: Beans nudged Potato and laughed, telling her to stop telling
00:11:54
Speaker 1: all her secrets. Now the bulldog was fed, he took
00:11:58
Speaker 1: his knitting out of his pocket and sat contentedly at
00:12:02
Speaker 1: the counter, swinging his legs and humming as he stitched.
00:12:06
Speaker 1: Enjoying the break from his journey, He introduced himself as Barry,
00:12:13
Speaker 1: and soon he was teaching the two cats to knit too.
00:12:17
Speaker 1: Potato and Beans weren't natural knitters, especially Potato, who kept
00:12:23
Speaker 1: getting excited and throwing the ball of yarn in the
00:12:26
Speaker 1: air and batting it with her paws, although Beans tried
00:12:32
Speaker 1: with all her might to concentrate and not join in
00:12:35
Speaker 1: with the plane. Before long, the two cats were all
00:12:39
Speaker 1: tangled up in purple yarn, cackling as they tried to
00:12:44
Speaker 1: get loose. Barry looked on, booming with laughter. When they
00:12:50
Speaker 1: tired out, they shook themselves loose and looked at the twisted,
00:12:55
Speaker 1: knotted pile of yarn on the ground. Potato smiled sheepishly
00:13:00
Speaker 1: at Barry. Sorry, Barry, this will take a while to untangle,
00:13:09
Speaker 1: she said. Beans suggested they all untangle it together. Potato
00:13:15
Speaker 1: would focus on the tangles, Beans would undo the knots,
00:13:20
Speaker 1: and Barry would wind it all up together again. As
00:13:25
Speaker 1: they worked, Barry asked them a question, how did they
00:13:29
Speaker 1: become diner cats anyway? Potato and Beans grinned. They got
00:13:36
Speaker 1: asked this question often. Potato and Beans had been at
00:13:42
Speaker 1: kitt and kindergarten together all those years ago. The two
00:13:47
Speaker 1: of them had got on famously from the minute they met.
00:13:51
Speaker 1: They both loved lunch and sunshine and playing with twine.
00:13:57
Speaker 1: They were the best of friends. Then they played together
00:14:00
Speaker 1: for hours. Beans's mum had said that the two of
00:14:04
Speaker 1: them go together like strawberries and cream. At kindergarten there
00:14:11
Speaker 1: was an old wooden set of toys in the corner.
00:14:14
Speaker 1: There was a shop front with a little curtain they
00:14:16
Speaker 1: could pull back when it was time to open, and
00:14:20
Speaker 1: a little cash register that pinged when they put imaginary
00:14:24
Speaker 1: money in it. There was painted toy bread and tomatoes,
00:14:29
Speaker 1: cheese and lettuce, and empty cups they pretended were full
00:14:34
Speaker 1: of warm, frothy milk. They loved playing with these toys,
00:14:40
Speaker 1: pretending one of them was a customer and the other
00:14:43
Speaker 1: a cook or a waitress. One would sit politely on
00:14:48
Speaker 1: a little plastic chair, and the other would sachet across
00:14:53
Speaker 1: the play mat with a tray held overhead, saying, excuse
00:14:58
Speaker 1: me to imagine customers. As they went serving one another
00:15:03
Speaker 1: the most delicious imaginary sandwiches and invisible drinks. Their teacher
00:15:11
Speaker 1: joked that the two of them should open their own
00:15:14
Speaker 1: diner when they were older. It was just a joke,
00:15:18
Speaker 1: but the idea really stuck with them. As soon as
00:15:22
Speaker 1: they had grown from kitties to cats. They took off
00:15:26
Speaker 1: on a journey to find the perfect spot for their diner.
00:15:31
Speaker 1: As they drove through the sunny valley where their diner
00:15:35
Speaker 1: now stood, Potato had hung her head from the window
00:15:39
Speaker 1: in amazement at the tall mountains and open cactus dotted
00:15:44
Speaker 1: planes around them. As they stopped the car to take
00:15:49
Speaker 1: in the view, Beans's belly rumbled, a bigger grumble than
00:15:55
Speaker 1: it had ever rumbled before. The two looked at one another.
00:16:01
Speaker 1: There hadn't been a restaurant for miles. This would be
00:16:06
Speaker 1: the place they would build their diner. The two cats
00:16:12
Speaker 1: hired a team of strong bulls to build their diner,
00:16:16
Speaker 1: watching excitedly as the neon sign was hoisted above the doors.
00:16:23
Speaker 1: As soon as they opened, the customers began to stream in,
00:16:28
Speaker 1: thankful to find this cozy oasis in the beautiful middle
00:16:33
Speaker 1: of nowhere. They'd been here ever since. They finished their story,
00:16:41
Speaker 1: grinning at each other gratefully. Barry was smiling too, and
00:16:47
Speaker 1: he congratulated them on making their dreams come true. He
00:16:52
Speaker 1: said that his current dream was to eat one of
00:16:56
Speaker 1: the cookies he could smell baking in the kitchen. Beans
00:17:01
Speaker 1: laughed and went to fetch him a warm cookie, fixing
00:17:05
Speaker 1: the one with the most chocolate chips. The rest of
00:17:09
Speaker 1: the evening was busy, and the cats were pleased to
00:17:12
Speaker 1: see the clock strike ten. It was time to close
00:17:17
Speaker 1: the diner for the night. Missus Pig carefully boxed up
00:17:22
Speaker 1: the cakes and tucked them into their cupboard for the night.
00:17:26
Speaker 1: Ozzy the octopus strapped a sponge to each tentacle and
00:17:31
Speaker 1: began gliding across the diner floor as if ice skating,
00:17:37
Speaker 1: cleaning as he went. Potato and Beans said good night
00:17:42
Speaker 1: to the last customers. They filled up the ketch up
00:17:45
Speaker 1: bottles for the next day and tucked into their own
00:17:48
Speaker 1: suppers of warm milk and honey sandwiches. Just as Potato
00:17:55
Speaker 1: was turning the open sign to closed, the last creature
00:18:00
Speaker 1: came running up to the door. It was Zara, the
00:18:04
Speaker 1: curly haired post dog, with a package tucked under her arm.
00:18:10
Speaker 1: Its tag was addressed to the diner and signed with
00:18:13
Speaker 1: a flourish with the name one of Beans's dear friends, Villa.
00:18:20
Speaker 1: Zara was panting, having race to deliver the parcel by
00:18:24
Speaker 1: closing time. Beans and Potato invited her in and poured
00:18:30
Speaker 1: her a glass of water as she caught her breath.
00:18:34
Speaker 1: Zara had been delivering her post this morning when she
00:18:38
Speaker 1: decided to take a rest in her post van. Gazing
00:18:43
Speaker 1: out of the window at the blue sky warmed by
00:18:47
Speaker 1: the sun's rays. She soon began to snooze and slept
00:18:53
Speaker 1: the whole day away. She had spent the evening speeding
00:18:58
Speaker 1: from village to village and out into the country to
00:19:02
Speaker 1: deliver packages across the region. The diner was the last stop,
00:19:08
Speaker 1: and she said she was so happy to have made it.
00:19:11
Speaker 1: By closing time, as the parcel looked important. Beans smiled
00:19:18
Speaker 1: and said she wasn't sure how important it was, but
00:19:22
Speaker 1: it would certainly be something exciting. Vela was such an
00:19:27
Speaker 1: excellent friend, and though she was often far away on
00:19:31
Speaker 1: her adventures, she would often send mementoes to Beans that
00:19:36
Speaker 1: she picked up on her way. This parcel was much
00:19:41
Speaker 1: bigger than usual, though. They thanked Sara and she gave
00:19:45
Speaker 1: them a sleepy wave as she headed out of the door.
00:19:50
Speaker 1: Beans and Potato soon began tearing off the tape and
00:19:54
Speaker 1: opening the parcel. They carefully pulled out the delicate tissue
00:20:00
Speaker 1: paper from the top of the box and gasped as
00:20:04
Speaker 1: they saw its contents. The box was full of roller skates.
00:20:11
Speaker 1: Potato gasped, there's so many roller skates, she said, there's one, two, three, Oh,
00:20:23
Speaker 1: I can't count all of those. Having finished all of
00:20:28
Speaker 1: their jobs for the evening, Missus Pig and Ozzy the
00:20:32
Speaker 1: Octopus came out of the kitchen to find the two
00:20:36
Speaker 1: cats on the black and white tiled floor, surrounded by
00:20:41
Speaker 1: wheeled boots. Missus Pig grinned, Look at all those roller skates,
00:20:49
Speaker 1: she exclaimed, Why there's fourteen of them. Potato furrowed her
00:20:58
Speaker 1: brow and asked what they would possibly do with so
00:21:02
Speaker 1: many roller skates. Missus Pig told her to count their legs.
00:21:09
Speaker 1: Potato and Beans had two each, Missus Pig had too,
00:21:14
Speaker 1: and Ozzy had eight. That makes fourteen. There was a
00:21:22
Speaker 1: letter at the bottom of the box, which Missus Pig
00:21:25
Speaker 1: carefully unfolded and read to the group. Dear Potato, Beans,
00:21:33
Speaker 1: Ozzy and missus Pig. The letter read, you won't believe
00:21:40
Speaker 1: what I saw today. I'm on holiday at the beach
00:21:44
Speaker 1: and I came across the most amazing diner. Beans chuckled.
00:21:53
Speaker 1: She's always on holiday, she said. Missus Pig continued to
00:21:59
Speaker 1: read the letter. It was a big diner, as nice
00:22:04
Speaker 1: as yours, except the pie wasn't as good as missus pigs. Now,
00:22:09
Speaker 1: missus Pig chuckled, but there was something quite remarkable. It
00:22:18
Speaker 1: was a roller diner. Everybody who worked there was whizzing
00:22:22
Speaker 1: around on roller skates. They were carrying drinks and everything.
00:22:28
Speaker 1: It made me dizzy to watch, but goodness, it looked fun.
00:22:33
Speaker 1: Once I had finished my lemonade, I headed straight to
00:22:36
Speaker 1: the sports shop and bought enough roller skates for all
00:22:40
Speaker 1: of you. I hope you enjoy them. Love Wheeler by
00:22:47
Speaker 1: the time Missus Pig finished reading the letter, everyone was
00:22:51
Speaker 1: grinning from ear to ear. Ozzie said he thought this
00:22:59
Speaker 1: was a groovy idea and immediately set about putting a
00:23:04
Speaker 1: roller skate on the end of each of his eight tentacles.
00:23:08
Speaker 1: Missus Pig, Potato, and Beans followed his example. At first,
00:23:16
Speaker 1: they skidded and glided around the diner, giggling, having no
00:23:22
Speaker 1: control over their direction, especially Ossie. His legs were darting
00:23:28
Speaker 1: back and forth and wobbling in and out as he
00:23:32
Speaker 1: tried to keep his balance. Beans kept bumping into tables,
00:23:38
Speaker 1: and at one point she accidentally skated her way out
00:23:41
Speaker 1: of the swinging front door to land in a heap
00:23:45
Speaker 1: in the parking lot. Missus Pig was a natural from
00:23:50
Speaker 1: the start. She could weave in and out of tables,
00:23:56
Speaker 1: zoom forwards, and glide backward, looking as graceful as a
00:24:02
Speaker 1: ballet dancer as she did so. Potato was quite talented too.
00:24:09
Speaker 1: She wasn't so good at moving about the diner, but
00:24:13
Speaker 1: she could do very impressive spins and jumps on her
00:24:17
Speaker 1: roller skates. Missus Pig said that if they were going
00:24:24
Speaker 1: to be a roller diner, they would have to train.
00:24:28
Speaker 1: They not only had to be able to skate from
00:24:32
Speaker 1: one place to another, but they would have to do
00:24:35
Speaker 1: so carrying meals and drinks and not spilling a drop.
00:24:43
Speaker 1: For practice, she loaded a tray with plastic cups that
00:24:47
Speaker 1: wouldn't break if they dropped them. They laid out an
00:24:51
Speaker 1: obstacle course of tables and chairs and took it in
00:24:56
Speaker 1: turns to whizz around the diner, holding the trail high
00:25:00
Speaker 1: above their heads. The cat's got the hang of it
00:25:06
Speaker 1: first Soon they were delivering full drinks and towering dishes,
00:25:13
Speaker 1: weaving in and out of each other's way. Ozzie, on
00:25:18
Speaker 1: the other hand, she just couldn't keep control of eight
00:25:22
Speaker 1: wheeled legs. He collapsed in a tangle of tentacles and
00:25:28
Speaker 1: looked up at Missus Pig. What can I do, Ozzie
00:25:35
Speaker 1: asked her with a laugh. I'm hopeless at this. Missus
00:25:41
Speaker 1: Pig wrinkled her snout as she thought. Then she spun
00:25:46
Speaker 1: on her wheeled heels without another word, and glided into
00:25:51
Speaker 1: the kitchen. She re emerged carrying Ozzie's radio, which she
00:25:56
Speaker 1: plugged in and switched to the disco channel. Bouncing upbeat
00:26:02
Speaker 1: music soon filled the diner. Oozzy began to bob his head.
00:26:10
Speaker 1: He picked himself up off the floor and began moving
00:26:14
Speaker 1: his feet to the music. Beans and Potato clapped along
00:26:20
Speaker 1: to the beat as he began to move, one skated
00:26:24
Speaker 1: at a time. Now there was music playing, he was
00:26:29
Speaker 1: moving with ease. Before long he was skating faster and
00:26:34
Speaker 1: more rhythmically than any of them. He took his turn
00:26:39
Speaker 1: at Missus pigs obstacle course and passed with flying colors.
00:26:44
Speaker 1: Missus Pig awarded all three of them imaginary meadows. Potato
00:26:51
Speaker 1: and Beans were thrilled. From now on, the diner was
00:26:57
Speaker 1: going to be a roller diner, but they wouldn't be
00:27:01
Speaker 1: open until the morning. For now they needed to rest.
00:27:06
Speaker 1: They lined their fourteen skates up by the diner's door,
00:27:11
Speaker 1: ready for the next day. Missus Pig and Ozzy wished
00:27:17
Speaker 1: Potato and Beans sweet dreams and headed out into the night.
00:27:23
Speaker 1: Beans and Potato didn't have far to go to tumble
00:27:27
Speaker 1: into bed. They headed up stairs to their apartment above
00:27:31
Speaker 1: the diner, which was cozily decorated with blankets, bean bags,
00:27:37
Speaker 1: and two comfy beds and a couple of scratching posts.
00:27:42
Speaker 1: Here and there, the two of them brushed their teeth,
00:27:47
Speaker 1: then they took it in turns to take a warm,
00:27:49
Speaker 1: bubbly bath. The bath was so warm and relaxing, Potato
00:27:56
Speaker 1: thought she may fall asleep right there, had Beans not
00:28:01
Speaker 1: politely called her to hurry up. After they had taken
00:28:06
Speaker 1: their baths, they used the hair dryers to dry off
00:28:10
Speaker 1: their fur, which was now as soft as cotton candy
00:28:15
Speaker 1: and scented with lavender. Before long, the two of them
00:28:21
Speaker 1: were rubbing their eyes and yawning. They put on their pajamas.
00:28:28
Speaker 1: They were buttoned pajamas and trousers made of the softest cotton.
00:28:34
Speaker 1: Beans's pajamas were covered in stars and spaceships and potatoes
00:28:40
Speaker 1: with moons and planets. They sat in their pajamas in
00:28:45
Speaker 1: front of the window, looking out at the twinkling stars.
00:28:52
Speaker 1: Potato turned to Beans with a smile and said how
00:28:57
Speaker 1: lucky they were to have their diner under the stars.
00:29:02
Speaker 1: She took Beans as poor in hers and said how
00:29:07
Speaker 1: happy she was to meet new creatures every day and
00:29:12
Speaker 1: to be able to go on adventures with her best friend.
00:29:18
Speaker 1: Their dreams really had come true. Beans agreed, and the
00:29:27
Speaker 1: two smiled at one another sleepily. They each climbed into
00:29:33
Speaker 1: their squishy beds and turned their lamp out to drift
00:29:39
Speaker 1: off into dreams of strawberry milkshakes and roller scapes, and
00:29:46
Speaker 1: of all the adventures they had to come passsssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
