Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to Kuala Moon, a podcast of
00:00:14
Speaker 1: original children's bedtime stories and meditations designed to make bedtime
00:00:20
Speaker 1: a dream.
00:00:22
Speaker 2: Tonight, we're back in Sleepy Forest, but not with Coco.
00:00:26
Speaker 2: This time we're going to meet a little dragon with
00:00:30
Speaker 2: the best name. He's called Disco, and can you guess why?
00:00:36
Speaker 2: Because he was born to dance. He knows all the moves,
00:00:42
Speaker 2: and one day he flies down to Sleepy Forest and
00:00:45
Speaker 2: meets other animals who love dancing as much as he does.
00:00:49
Speaker 2: It's not long before Disco and his friends creates some
00:00:53
Speaker 2: wonderful new dances together. I love to dance. Perhaps one day,
00:00:59
Speaker 2: if you hear some lovely music, you could have a
00:01:01
Speaker 2: dance too, and maybe pretend your Disco the dancing dragon.
00:01:07
Speaker 2: But for now, settle down more snugly in your bed,
00:01:11
Speaker 2: picture yourself in sleepy forest, and I'll begin. This is
00:01:17
Speaker 2: the Dragon who Loved to Dance by Jillian Rogerson. High
00:01:28
Speaker 2: on a mountaintop in Sleepy Forest, her baby dragon was
00:01:32
Speaker 2: getting ready to hatch from its egg. The parents of
00:01:37
Speaker 2: the dragon held hands and waited for their little one
00:01:40
Speaker 2: to appear. A single crack zigzagged down the glittering purple
00:01:47
Speaker 2: surface of the egg. The mother dragon said, Oh, I
00:01:53
Speaker 2: wonder what our baby will look like. I wonder if
00:01:56
Speaker 2: they'll know how to fly. The dragon smiled. Dragons are
00:02:03
Speaker 2: born knowing how to fly. Another crack ran down the egg.
00:02:12
Speaker 2: What should we call our little one, the mother dragon asked.
00:02:16
Speaker 2: We still haven't decided on a name yet. The father
00:02:21
Speaker 2: dragon replied wisely, as soon as we see our baby, well,
00:02:28
Speaker 2: no wish name is perfect for them. A third crack
00:02:33
Speaker 2: appeared on the egg and ran all the way around it.
00:02:39
Speaker 2: The purple egg began to jiggle from side to side,
00:02:44
Speaker 2: as though the little dragon inside just could not wait
00:02:48
Speaker 2: another minute to get out. The egg rolled over and
00:02:53
Speaker 2: broke completely open. A baby dragon with skin the color
00:02:59
Speaker 2: of fresh opened leaves, jumped up and smiled up at
00:03:04
Speaker 2: his parents. His proud parents looked into his emerald green
00:03:11
Speaker 2: eyes and fell totally in love with him. To their surprise,
00:03:19
Speaker 2: their son began to do something quite unexpected. The little
00:03:25
Speaker 2: dragon shuffled his feet along the ground, waved his arms
00:03:31
Speaker 2: in the air, and wiggled his little dragon bottom. The
00:03:38
Speaker 2: mother dragon whispered, what's he doing? I'm not sure? The
00:03:46
Speaker 2: father dragon whispered back, maybe he's got an itch that
00:03:52
Speaker 2: he needs to scratch. The confused parents looked more closely
00:03:59
Speaker 2: at their beautiful son. The little dragon nodded his head
00:04:04
Speaker 2: in time to a silent rhythm and tapped his feet
00:04:08
Speaker 2: on the ground. He clicked his fingers and began to
00:04:13
Speaker 2: hum a joyful tune. Then he jigged from side to
00:04:18
Speaker 2: side and kicked his legs in the air. He waved
00:04:24
Speaker 2: happily at his parents as he moved around. His mother
00:04:29
Speaker 2: and father waved back, but they didn't know why their
00:04:33
Speaker 2: son was moving in such a peculiar way. Just at
00:04:39
Speaker 2: that moment, a beautiful owl landed on the branch of
00:04:43
Speaker 2: a near by tree. She fluffed her white feathers and
00:04:48
Speaker 2: settled herself more comfortably on the branch. She smiled at
00:04:54
Speaker 2: the parents and said congratulations to them on the birth
00:04:58
Speaker 2: of their son. The parents kept their eyes on their son,
00:05:03
Speaker 2: but moved closer to the owl and asked if she
00:05:07
Speaker 2: knew what he was doing dancing. The owl replied, and
00:05:14
Speaker 2: very good he is too. He's got a good rhythm
00:05:17
Speaker 2: going on there. Look at him.
00:05:20
Speaker 1: Go.
00:05:21
Speaker 2: He's making me want to dance too. The owl started
00:05:27
Speaker 2: to bop up and down on the branch. The mother
00:05:31
Speaker 2: dragon said, but dragons don't dance. We fly and we walk,
00:05:39
Speaker 2: and sometimes we run if we have to, but mainly
00:05:43
Speaker 2: we fly. The owl gave the parents a knowing look.
00:05:51
Speaker 2: You used to dance, don't you remember? Didn't you two
00:05:57
Speaker 2: meet at a moonlight disco years ago? Isn't that where
00:06:02
Speaker 2: you fell in love with each other? A dreamy look
00:06:08
Speaker 2: came into the parent's eyes, and they gazed fondly at
00:06:12
Speaker 2: each other. The mother dragon said, oh, yes, we did
00:06:19
Speaker 2: meet at a moonlight disco. I've been so busy flying here,
00:06:25
Speaker 2: there and everywhere that I've forgotten we used to dance.
00:06:31
Speaker 2: Your son was born with a love of dance in
00:06:34
Speaker 2: his heart. The owl said, Has he got a name? Oh,
00:06:40
Speaker 2: we forgot about that. The father dragon said, but I
00:06:45
Speaker 2: have the perfect name for him. The parents went over
00:06:51
Speaker 2: to their dancing son and held out their arms to him.
00:06:57
Speaker 2: The little dragon danced over to them and into their arms.
00:07:02
Speaker 2: In a voice full of love. The father dragon said, Disco,
00:07:10
Speaker 2: your name is Disco. We've been waiting all day for
00:07:16
Speaker 2: you to come out of your egg. Disco repeated his name.
00:07:22
Speaker 2: He grinned, nodded, and said his name a few more times,
00:07:27
Speaker 2: as if he couldn't get enough of it. Then he
00:07:31
Speaker 2: jumped out of his parents embrace and began to dance
00:07:35
Speaker 2: around the broken eggshell, whilst singing his name over and
00:07:40
Speaker 2: over again and clicking his fingers and tapping his toes.
00:07:46
Speaker 2: The sight of their happy son made the mother and
00:07:49
Speaker 2: father dragon laugh in delight. They attempted to join in
00:07:55
Speaker 2: with his dancing moves, but they couldn't quite remember what
00:07:59
Speaker 2: to do and gave up after a while. Disco danced
00:08:06
Speaker 2: a little longer before flopping to the ground and falling
00:08:10
Speaker 2: fast asleep. The next day, the proud parents introduced Disco
00:08:17
Speaker 2: to the other dragons who lived on the mountain. Disco
00:08:22
Speaker 2: shyly said hello to the gathering of dragons, and then
00:08:27
Speaker 2: he began to dance. He just couldn't help himself. His
00:08:33
Speaker 2: feet just had to hop from side to side, his
00:08:38
Speaker 2: arms just had to wave back and forth, and his
00:08:43
Speaker 2: body just had to twirl and whirl around. The other
00:08:50
Speaker 2: dragons were astonished and asked the parents what Disco was
00:08:55
Speaker 2: doing dancing. Mother Dragon replied with a loving smile on
00:09:01
Speaker 2: her face. But dragons don't dance, an elderly dragon said.
00:09:10
Speaker 2: We fly, and we walk, and sometimes we run if
00:09:16
Speaker 2: we have to, but mainly we fly. Mother dragon nodded,
00:09:23
Speaker 2: that's what I thought. But then I remembered that we
00:09:28
Speaker 2: all used to dance, but we were so busy flying here, there,
00:09:34
Speaker 2: and everywhere that we forgot how to Do you remember
00:09:40
Speaker 2: how to dance? The elderly dragon frowned, as though searching
00:09:47
Speaker 2: for a memory. He said, I'm not sure did we
00:09:54
Speaker 2: really dance? Mother dragon nodded, we did. Disco was born
00:10:03
Speaker 2: knowing how to dance. He's got a natural rhythm in
00:10:06
Speaker 2: his heart, one that we all have. I keep trying
00:10:12
Speaker 2: to copy him, but my feet trip over each other.
00:10:16
Speaker 2: But I'm certain I'll remember how to dance again soon.
00:10:21
Speaker 2: The elderly dragon smiled. I hope I remember too. Look
00:10:29
Speaker 2: at the fun Disco is having. The little dragon continued
00:10:35
Speaker 2: dancing and added a few wiggles and jiggles. He shimmy
00:10:41
Speaker 2: back and forth along the ground, humming happily to himself.
00:10:48
Speaker 2: Such was the joy on his little face that the
00:10:52
Speaker 2: other dragons began to smile. Some of them even tried
00:10:57
Speaker 2: to dance too, but they kept bumping into each other
00:11:02
Speaker 2: and had to keep saying sorry. Disco kindly showed them
00:11:08
Speaker 2: some of his simpler moves, but that didn't work. Either,
00:11:13
Speaker 2: and two young dragons ended up with their tails somehow
00:11:18
Speaker 2: tied together. The elderly dragon said, I can see how
00:11:26
Speaker 2: good Disco is at dancing, But can he fly? Oh,
00:11:34
Speaker 2: we forgot about that, mother dragon said. Father dragon asked
00:11:41
Speaker 2: Disco if he would like to learn how to fly.
00:11:46
Speaker 2: Disco said he would like that very much. His parents
00:11:52
Speaker 2: took him to the edge of the mountain and showed
00:11:55
Speaker 2: him how to open his wings and flap them back forth.
00:12:02
Speaker 2: Disco copied them and soon found a rhythm in the
00:12:06
Speaker 2: flapping of his wings. His feet jigged merrily from side
00:12:12
Speaker 2: to side, as though dancing to the movement of his wings.
00:12:19
Speaker 2: When he was ready, his parents showed Disco how to
00:12:24
Speaker 2: soar into the sky. Disco's little face frowned in concentration
00:12:32
Speaker 2: as he launched himself into the air. The wind rushed
00:12:38
Speaker 2: beneath his wings and took him higher and higher. The
00:12:43
Speaker 2: little dragon smiled. He veered to the left and then
00:12:49
Speaker 2: to the right. Flying was amazing, totally amazing, and Disco
00:12:58
Speaker 2: loved it. He looked down and realized he could see
00:13:04
Speaker 2: the hole of sleepy forest below him. He saw lots
00:13:10
Speaker 2: of forest animals. Some were moving through the long grass
00:13:15
Speaker 2: and others were grazing in the flower meadows. A few
00:13:20
Speaker 2: were wallowing happily in the rivers, and some were asleep
00:13:25
Speaker 2: in the trees. To his surprise and delight, he noticed
00:13:32
Speaker 2: some elephants were actually dancing. Disco had never seen anyone
00:13:39
Speaker 2: else dance before. He swooped a bit lower to get
00:13:44
Speaker 2: a better look. The group of dancing elephants saw him
00:13:50
Speaker 2: and waved their trunks in a cheery hellow. Disco waved back.
00:13:58
Speaker 2: The need to dance was to hoo strong for Disco
00:14:01
Speaker 2: to resist. He flew to the nearest mountain and landed
00:14:07
Speaker 2: on top of it. He folded his wings behind his
00:14:12
Speaker 2: back and began to boogie and bop. He twisted and
00:14:17
Speaker 2: twirled this way and that, and waved his arms around
00:14:22
Speaker 2: in the air. He hummed the happy tune. It was
00:14:27
Speaker 2: a melody. They came straight from his heart. His parents
00:14:33
Speaker 2: landed next to him and watched lovingly as their little
00:14:38
Speaker 2: dancing dragon boogied cheerfully on the mountain top. He was
00:14:44
Speaker 2: a joy to watch. After a while, the dragon family
00:14:50
Speaker 2: took to the skies again. But even though Disco loved
00:14:55
Speaker 2: flying with his parents, the second they landed he began
00:15:00
Speaker 2: to dance. He just couldn't help it. His parents loved
00:15:07
Speaker 2: flying with their son too, but they could see how
00:15:12
Speaker 2: much his face lit up with pure happiness every time
00:15:17
Speaker 2: he danced. After discussing the matter between themselves, they came
00:15:25
Speaker 2: up with an idea. That evening, as the dragon family
00:15:31
Speaker 2: were roasting marshmallows on an open fire, the mother dragon
00:15:36
Speaker 2: smiled fondly at Disco and said, we've been thinking about
00:15:43
Speaker 2: how much you love dancing. With his cheeks full of
00:15:49
Speaker 2: warm marshmallows, Disco nodded. He did love dancing very much.
00:15:57
Speaker 2: Mother Dragon continued, and we thought it would be wonderful
00:16:03
Speaker 2: if you met other animals who loved dancing too, Perhaps
00:16:09
Speaker 2: you could even dance with them. Disco quickly swallowed the marshmallows. Really,
00:16:19
Speaker 2: I would love that. When we were flying earlier, I
00:16:25
Speaker 2: saw some dancing elephants down in the forest. I'd love
00:16:30
Speaker 2: to meet them. Do you think they'd like to meet me?
00:16:36
Speaker 2: Of course they would. His father said, you are an
00:16:41
Speaker 2: amazing little dragon with a very special talent. His mother said,
00:16:49
Speaker 2: you should fly down to the forest to morrow and
00:16:52
Speaker 2: meet those elephants. You might meet other animals who can
00:16:57
Speaker 2: dance too, And when you come back home later, you
00:17:01
Speaker 2: can show us any new moves you've learned. Perhaps the
00:17:06
Speaker 2: right dance will help us remember how to dance again.
00:17:13
Speaker 2: Disco promised to learn as many new dances as he could.
00:17:20
Speaker 2: He was sure one of them would be perfect for
00:17:23
Speaker 2: his parents. Early the next morning, Disco said goodbye to
00:17:32
Speaker 2: his parents and set off on his dancing adventure. He
00:17:39
Speaker 2: flew over the tops of the snow capped mountains and
00:17:44
Speaker 2: swooped down to the forest. He landed near the elephants
00:17:50
Speaker 2: who were dancing again. The elephants didn't notice the dragon
00:17:56
Speaker 2: at first because they were too absorbed in the dance
00:18:00
Speaker 2: they were doing. The elephants had arranged themselves into a circle,
00:18:08
Speaker 2: and as they jigged to the left and then to
00:18:11
Speaker 2: the right, their long trunks waved joyfully in the air.
00:18:17
Speaker 2: An older elephant was sitting in the shade of a tree,
00:18:22
Speaker 2: playing a merry tune on a big drum. Disco watched
00:18:29
Speaker 2: the elephants as they shimmered to the right and then
00:18:33
Speaker 2: skipped to the left, moving in perfect time to the
00:18:39
Speaker 2: beat of the drum. Before too long, Disco felt the
00:18:45
Speaker 2: rhythm catching a hold of him. His feet began to
00:18:51
Speaker 2: tap and his fingers clicked in time to the music.
00:18:58
Speaker 2: He moved closer to the elephants and watched their skipping feet.
00:19:05
Speaker 2: One of the smaller elephants noticed him, and with a smile,
00:19:10
Speaker 2: she made space for Disco in the circle. Disco grinned
00:19:15
Speaker 2: happily and joined the dancing elephants. His steps were in
00:19:21
Speaker 2: perfect time with theirs, and he even added a little
00:19:26
Speaker 2: wiggle and whirl now and again. The elephants noticed his
00:19:32
Speaker 2: fancy moves and copied him. Soon, the elephants and the
00:19:39
Speaker 2: dragon had made up a completely new dance. When the
00:19:44
Speaker 2: dance had finished, Disco introduced himself and said thank you
00:19:49
Speaker 2: to the elephants for letting him join them. The small
00:19:54
Speaker 2: elephant said that was our first dance of the day.
00:20:00
Speaker 2: We're going to do another one now. You can join
00:20:04
Speaker 2: us if you like. Do you know how to do
00:20:07
Speaker 2: the conger? Disco said he didn't, but he liked the
00:20:11
Speaker 2: sound of it. The elephants organized themselves into a line
00:20:17
Speaker 2: with Disco in the middle. Using their trunks, tails, and,
00:20:23
Speaker 2: in Disco's case, their wings, the animals made a long
00:20:28
Speaker 2: line that stretched back into the trees. The elephant with
00:20:34
Speaker 2: the drum began to tap out and upbeat rhythm on
00:20:38
Speaker 2: his instrument, and off the animals went dancing the conger
00:20:45
Speaker 2: through the forest. Four steps and a kick to the left,
00:20:52
Speaker 2: four steps and a kick to the right. Disco picked
00:20:58
Speaker 2: up the movements in no time. There was a wonderfully
00:21:02
Speaker 2: happy dance, and it made him laugh with utter joy.
00:21:08
Speaker 2: He thought about the dragons back on the mountain and
00:21:13
Speaker 2: was certain they'd be able to do the conger dance too.
00:21:17
Speaker 2: He would teach them the moves. Later. The elephants and
00:21:23
Speaker 2: the little dragon congered through the forest, with the drumming
00:21:28
Speaker 2: elephant jigging behind them, never once losing the beat on
00:21:34
Speaker 2: his drum. After a while, the elephants came to a stop,
00:21:41
Speaker 2: and the largest one told Disco their dancing was over
00:21:46
Speaker 2: for the day, but if Disco wanted to find more
00:21:50
Speaker 2: animals who loved dancing, he should visit the porcupine family
00:21:56
Speaker 2: because they would be doing their morning ballet soon. They
00:22:00
Speaker 2: told him which way to go through the forest. Disco
00:22:06
Speaker 2: thanked the elephants again and then went on his way.
00:22:12
Speaker 2: He had no idea what ballet was, but he'd find
00:22:16
Speaker 2: out soon. A few minutes later, he found the porcupine family.
00:22:22
Speaker 2: There were five of them, and they were standing on
00:22:26
Speaker 2: their tiptoes and gently twirling on the spot. They slowly
00:22:32
Speaker 2: swayed to the left and then to the right, their
00:22:37
Speaker 2: arms held out elegantly reaching to the sky. Disco thought
00:22:45
Speaker 2: they looked very graceful, and he was certain he'd never
00:22:50
Speaker 2: be able to move like that. The mother porcupine noticed
00:22:55
Speaker 2: the little dragon and welcomed him warmly. She said, are
00:23:03
Speaker 2: you the dancing dragon? I've seen you dancing on the
00:23:08
Speaker 2: mountain tops. Disco nodded, I love dancing, but I don't
00:23:15
Speaker 2: think I could do what you're doing, though. She smiled
00:23:20
Speaker 2: at him and said, you don't know until you try.
00:23:26
Speaker 2: Watch what I do and do the same. She held
00:23:31
Speaker 2: her arms out and waved them gently in the air,
00:23:37
Speaker 2: like ripples on a river. Disco copied her movements, and
00:23:43
Speaker 2: to his surprise, he discovered he was rather good at it.
00:23:49
Speaker 2: The porcupines showed him some more ballet moves, and even
00:23:54
Speaker 2: though some were trickier than others, Disco tried his best
00:24:00
Speaker 2: and did very well. He had a wonderful time. When
00:24:06
Speaker 2: the ballet dancing came to an end, the porcupines asked
00:24:11
Speaker 2: the little dragon to show them some of his dance moves.
00:24:17
Speaker 2: Disco boogied and shimmy, He whirled and he twirled, he
00:24:23
Speaker 2: bopped and hopped to his own beat. The porcupines followed
00:24:29
Speaker 2: his moves and mixed in some of their ballet movements too,
00:24:35
Speaker 2: and very soon the dragon and the porcupines had made
00:24:41
Speaker 2: up a completely new dance. Disco showed the porcupines how
00:24:48
Speaker 2: to do the conger, which they absolutely loved. When the
00:24:55
Speaker 2: dancing was over, the porcupines thanked Disco for spending some
00:25:00
Speaker 2: time with them and said if he wanted to meet
00:25:05
Speaker 2: other dancing animals, he should find the pink flamingos down
00:25:10
Speaker 2: by the river bank. They showed him which way to
00:25:14
Speaker 2: go and then said goodbye to the dancing dragon. Disco
00:25:21
Speaker 2: headed to the river bank, practicing some of his new
00:25:26
Speaker 2: ballet moves along the way. He soon came to a
00:25:31
Speaker 2: group of bright pink flamingos who were standing along the
00:25:36
Speaker 2: river bank. Disco was amazed to see that they were
00:25:41
Speaker 2: all balancing on one leg. The flamingos looked like they
00:25:47
Speaker 2: were waiting for something to happen. Disco waited two and
00:25:54
Speaker 2: then something did happen. A turtle shoff forward through the
00:26:01
Speaker 2: forest with a violin in her hands. Sorry, I'm late,
00:26:07
Speaker 2: she said, I slept in I just couldn't get out
00:26:11
Speaker 2: of my comfy shell this morning. She moved over to
00:26:17
Speaker 2: the waiting flamingos, sat down and tucked the violin under
00:26:24
Speaker 2: her chin. She began to play a beautiful song. The
00:26:31
Speaker 2: sound of it caused the flamingos to start dancing along
00:26:37
Speaker 2: the river bank in long, graceful strides. With their heads
00:26:43
Speaker 2: held high. They strutted to the left, clicked their fingers
00:26:50
Speaker 2: three times, and then strutted to the right, before twirling
00:26:56
Speaker 2: around and starting their movements all over again. Disco's feet
00:27:04
Speaker 2: tapped to the rhythm of the turtle's tune. One of
00:27:10
Speaker 2: the Flamingoes noticed Disco and waved him over. He made
00:27:16
Speaker 2: room for the dragon and showed him how to strut
00:27:21
Speaker 2: in time with the others. It didn't take long for
00:27:26
Speaker 2: Disco to pick up the movements, and he enjoyed moving
00:27:31
Speaker 2: back and forth with the brightly colored birds. He particularly
00:27:36
Speaker 2: liked the twirling around parts and couldn't help adding an
00:27:42
Speaker 2: extra twhirl and a double whirl. Sometimes he added a
00:27:48
Speaker 2: couple of bops too. The Flamingoes noticed his moves and
00:27:54
Speaker 2: copied him, and soon a new dance was created. Disco
00:28:01
Speaker 2: stayed with the Flamingoes for a while and learned more
00:28:06
Speaker 2: of their dances, and in return, he showed them some
00:28:11
Speaker 2: of the new ones he'd learned that day. He wasn't
00:28:16
Speaker 2: surprised to find out they loved doing the conger. After
00:28:23
Speaker 2: a while, the dancing came to an end, and the
00:28:27
Speaker 2: Flamingoes said they had to fly, but told Disco that
00:28:34
Speaker 2: if he wanted to continue dancing, he should head deeper
00:28:39
Speaker 2: into the forest, where he would find lots of animals
00:28:44
Speaker 2: who loved to dance. The little Dragon thanked them and
00:28:49
Speaker 2: watched the pink birds as they flew away over the trees.
00:28:56
Speaker 2: He walked further into the forest until he heard the
00:29:02
Speaker 2: sound of music coming from somewhere. He followed the melody
00:29:09
Speaker 2: and arrived at a clearing where a trio of gorillas
00:29:14
Speaker 2: were playing guitars. Other gorillas were dancing in pairs and
00:29:20
Speaker 2: moving smoothly back and forth across the grass. Now and again,
00:29:29
Speaker 2: one of the dancing gorillas would spin around and dip
00:29:34
Speaker 2: to the ground whilst holding hands with their partner. The
00:29:41
Speaker 2: music was joyful, and Disco found himself bopping from side
00:29:48
Speaker 2: to side. The gorillas saw him and invited him to
00:29:53
Speaker 2: join them. Disco partnered up with a gorilla who was
00:30:00
Speaker 2: about his size, and soon the pair were waltzing around
00:30:06
Speaker 2: the ground as elegantly as the others. Disco couldn't help
00:30:14
Speaker 2: adding his own touches with a spin here and a
00:30:19
Speaker 2: kicking leg there. His moves impressed the gorillas, and they
00:30:25
Speaker 2: did the same as the little dragon, and it wasn't
00:30:31
Speaker 2: long before the gorillas and the dragon were moving to
00:30:37
Speaker 2: a new dance. Disco stayed with the grooving gorillas a
00:30:43
Speaker 2: while longer, and even learned how to strum the guitar.
00:30:49
Speaker 2: Everyone was being so kind to him. He carried on
00:30:56
Speaker 2: through sleepy forest on the lookout for more dancing animals.
00:31:04
Speaker 2: Disco soon came across a couple of red furred foxes
00:31:10
Speaker 2: who taught him how to fox trot through the BlackBerry bushes.
00:31:16
Speaker 2: Then he met a kind faced panda who showed him
00:31:22
Speaker 2: how to perform a slow shuffle beneath the shady boughs
00:31:28
Speaker 2: of an old oak tree. Later on, he joined a
00:31:34
Speaker 2: dozen stripey tigers as they performed a tango across a
00:31:41
Speaker 2: wooden bridge, their tiger feet and dragon feet tapping a
00:31:48
Speaker 2: beat on the wood. Some time later, Disco took a
00:31:55
Speaker 2: rest at the side of a river and gazed in
00:31:59
Speaker 2: all wonder as a group of smiling otters performed a
00:32:05
Speaker 2: synchronized swimming dance through the water. They asked Disco to
00:32:12
Speaker 2: join them, but he didn't like the idea of getting
00:32:17
Speaker 2: his feet wet, so he stood up and copied their
00:32:22
Speaker 2: movements on the dry land instead. The day wore on
00:32:30
Speaker 2: and Disco carried on dancing with different animals. He boogied
00:32:37
Speaker 2: with badgers outside their burrows. He sambered with squirrels as
00:32:44
Speaker 2: they danced around a large tree. He met an elderly
00:32:50
Speaker 2: monkey who did a mamba whilst playing the mandolin. And
00:32:58
Speaker 2: he had a fabulous time dancing with some cheerful chipmunks
00:33:04
Speaker 2: who hopped and bopped through the forest. Disco had a
00:33:10
Speaker 2: wonderful time learning lots of new dance moves, and an
00:33:16
Speaker 2: even better time making new friends along the way. Most
00:33:23
Speaker 2: of all, Disco thought the making up new dances with
00:33:29
Speaker 2: the other animals was the best fun of all. The
00:33:35
Speaker 2: sun made its slow journey across the sky and headed
00:33:43
Speaker 2: towards the horizon. The first star of the night twinkled.
00:33:51
Speaker 2: Interview the Little Dragon began to feel tired, and he
00:33:59
Speaker 2: couldn't stop himself from yawning. It was time for him
00:34:05
Speaker 2: to go home. He opened his wings and flew into
00:34:12
Speaker 2: the sky. But even though he was tired, his dragon
00:34:19
Speaker 2: feet still jigged a little jig as the memory of
00:34:24
Speaker 2: the day's dances lingered in his mind. As Disco flew
00:34:33
Speaker 2: through the darkening sky, he thought about the animals he'd
00:34:38
Speaker 2: met and all the dancing they'd done together. He'd had
00:34:46
Speaker 2: an amazing time and couldn't wait to do it all again.
00:34:54
Speaker 2: His mother and father were waiting for him on the mountain.
00:35:01
Speaker 2: They hugged him and asked him about his day. The
00:35:07
Speaker 2: little Dragon still had a small amount of energy left,
00:35:13
Speaker 2: so he showed his parents some of his new moves.
00:35:19
Speaker 2: More stars appeared, and a full moon shone down on
00:35:25
Speaker 2: the Little Dancing Dragon. Disco was lost in the magic
00:35:32
Speaker 2: of his dancing and closed his eyes. He listened to
00:35:40
Speaker 2: the sounds of the night. Hoots came from treetop owls,
00:35:48
Speaker 2: a nightingale sang sweetly. The soft calls of good night
00:35:58
Speaker 2: echoed through the forest on the evening breeze. Disco felt
00:36:06
Speaker 2: the rhythm of the night surrounding him like a soothing
00:36:12
Speaker 2: lullaby of relaxing sounds. He swayed gently from side to side.
00:36:24
Speaker 2: So lost was he in his nighttime dance that Disco
00:36:30
Speaker 2: didn't notice that all the other dragons on the mountain
00:36:36
Speaker 2: had silently gathered around him. They saw how slowly he
00:36:44
Speaker 2: was dancing, and how his wings gently opened and closed,
00:36:52
Speaker 2: as though he was flying. The dragons began to copy
00:37:00
Speaker 2: his soothing dance, and they softly swayed to the melody
00:37:07
Speaker 2: of the evening too. They smiled gently at each other.
00:37:14
Speaker 2: This was a dance they could all do easily. Still,
00:37:22
Speaker 2: with his eyes closed, Disco yawned and yawned again. His
00:37:32
Speaker 2: feet finally came to a stop. Mother Dragons scooped her
00:37:41
Speaker 2: son into her arms and took him into their cozy cave.
00:37:49
Speaker 2: She placed him in his bed and tucked a warm
00:37:54
Speaker 2: cover around him. She kissed him good night. She returned
00:38:05
Speaker 2: to the dragons and joined them as they danced their
00:38:10
Speaker 2: special nighttime dance. Very soon, and one by one, the
00:38:18
Speaker 2: dragons remembered how to dance. The moon shone down brightly
00:38:27
Speaker 2: on the dancing dragons as they discoed merrily through the
00:38:33
Speaker 2: night to the
