00:00:36

Speaker 1: be available to help you settle down for the night

00:00:39

Speaker 1: and easily drift off. Do you like playing Hide and Seek?

00:00:45

Speaker 1: I thought so. It's also the game our two main

00:00:49

Speaker 1: characters want to play when they first meet each other.

00:00:53

Speaker 1: This is a beautiful story of unexpected friendship which is

00:00:57

Speaker 1: full of laughter and fun. Snuggle down and let us

00:01:03

Speaker 1: travel off now to a far away land and meet

00:01:06

Speaker 1: a little snow bear called snow Bell. One day, snow

00:01:11

Speaker 1: Bell's grandmother tells her a story about a friendly Yeti

00:01:15

Speaker 1: who she met years ago but has never seen since.

00:01:20

Speaker 1: Snow Bell hope she will be lucky enough to meet

00:01:23

Speaker 1: Yeti one day, and to her surprise and delight, it's

00:01:27

Speaker 1: not long before that happens. This is The Yeti and

00:01:31

Speaker 1: the snow Bear by Gillian Rogerson. In a land far

00:01:45

Speaker 1: far away, there lived a family of snow bears. They

00:01:49

Speaker 1: looked very much like polar bears, but there was something

00:01:54

Speaker 1: magical about them. The snow bears had black noses, just

00:02:00

Speaker 1: slipolar bears, but with a blink of their dark eyes,

00:02:05

Speaker 1: they could make their noses turn white, and once that happened,

00:02:10

Speaker 1: the snow bears became invisible. The magical bears loved making

00:02:17

Speaker 1: themselves invisible, which probably explains why hardly anyone has ever

00:02:22

Speaker 1: seen them. They weren't the only animals who were hard

00:02:25

Speaker 1: to find, As the youngest snow bear of the family,

00:02:29

Speaker 1: Snowbell was about to find out. The snow Bear family

00:02:35

Speaker 1: had been out swimming all afternoon, and when they returned home,

00:02:40

Speaker 1: they decided to snuggle up together inside their beautiful snowhouse

00:02:44

Speaker 1: and tell each other's stories. Snowbell loved listening to stories,

00:02:49

Speaker 1: especially ones told by her grandmother because she knew all

00:02:52

Speaker 1: the best ones. Inside the snowhouse, snow Bell's father made

00:02:57

Speaker 1: everyone a hot mug of cocoa and then asked who

00:03:01

Speaker 1: wanted to tell the first story. To snow Bell's delight,

00:03:06

Speaker 1: her grandmother said she would start the storytelling session. Snow

00:03:11

Speaker 1: Bell wrapped her paws around her hot drink and waited

00:03:15

Speaker 1: for her grandmother to begin. Snow Bell's grandmother gazed dreamily

00:03:21

Speaker 1: out of the window. She said, it was on a

00:03:26

Speaker 1: day like this when I met a Yetti. I was

00:03:32

Speaker 1: about your age, snow Bell. The snow was falling in

00:03:37

Speaker 1: the same fluttering kind of way as it is now,

00:03:42

Speaker 1: and the wind was brisk, and it blew some of

00:03:45

Speaker 1: the snow into small hills. As you all know, I

00:03:51

Speaker 1: love going for a long walk through the snow. I

00:03:55

Speaker 1: can walk for miles and miles somedays. On that day

00:04:01

Speaker 1: long ago, my family and I were out for a walk.

00:04:05

Speaker 1: I saw a snow hill ahead of us, and I

00:04:09

Speaker 1: just had to run up to it. So up I went.

00:04:13

Speaker 1: When I got to the top, I sat down and

00:04:16

Speaker 1: slid down the other side. When I reached the bottom,

00:04:21

Speaker 1: I saw the Yeti. Snowbell had never heard of a

00:04:26

Speaker 1: yeti before and asked her grandmother what it was. Her

00:04:31

Speaker 1: grandmother explained that the Yeti looked a bit like a

00:04:35

Speaker 1: human being, but also like an animal who lived in

00:04:39

Speaker 1: the snow. He had gray fur and was about her size.

00:04:45

Speaker 1: He looked so friendly that they started to chat. They

00:04:50

Speaker 1: played in the snow together for a while, but then

00:04:53

Speaker 1: her family called out for her from the other side

00:04:56

Speaker 1: of the snow hill. She ran half way up the

00:04:59

Speaker 1: hill called back to them to let them know where

00:05:02

Speaker 1: she was. When she looked back, the Yetti had gone.

00:05:08

Speaker 1: He'd left his footprints behind in the snow, but the

00:05:13

Speaker 1: snow started to fall and quickly covered them up. Snowbirll's

00:05:20

Speaker 1: grandmother smiled softly at the memory. She said, I'll never

00:05:27

Speaker 1: forget the YETI and how friendly he was. And I'll

00:05:32

Speaker 1: never forget what his footprints looked like either. They were

00:05:37

Speaker 1: like ours, but his toes were longer. I look out

00:05:42

Speaker 1: for them every time I go for a walk, but

00:05:46

Speaker 1: I've never found them again. Maybe one day I will,

00:05:52

Speaker 1: or maybe you will. Snowbell. The thought of seeing the

00:05:57

Speaker 1: mysterious YETI made the little snowbar smile. She very much

00:06:03

Speaker 1: hoped she would see one. She asked the rest of

00:06:07

Speaker 1: her family if they'd ever seen a yety. No one had,

00:06:12

Speaker 1: but Little snow Bell had a feeling she would see

00:06:16

Speaker 1: a YETI one day. That day came sooner than she thought.

00:06:24

Speaker 1: Two days later, snow Bell was out walking with her family.

00:06:29

Speaker 1: The snow had fallen thickly earlier, and the brisk wind

00:06:33

Speaker 1: had blown some of the snow into little hills. Her

00:06:37

Speaker 1: family decided to take a rest from their stroll and

00:06:41

Speaker 1: to enjoy the picnic they had brought with them. Whilst

00:06:45

Speaker 1: the food was being unpacked, snow Bell started to explore

00:06:50

Speaker 1: the nearby area and she saw a snow hill. She

00:06:54

Speaker 1: ran up it, and when she got to the top,

00:06:57

Speaker 1: she sat on her bottom and slid down the other side.

00:07:02

Speaker 1: It was great fun. Snow Bell was about to slide

00:07:07

Speaker 1: down the hill again, but then she spotted something peculiar

00:07:12

Speaker 1: in the snow footprints. They were about her size, but

00:07:18

Speaker 1: the tow prints were longer. Snow Bell looked closer and

00:07:24

Speaker 1: wondered if they had been made by Ayetti. The little

00:07:29

Speaker 1: bear looked along the snow covered ground and saw more footprints.

00:07:34

Speaker 1: She followed them and walked towards an oak tree that

00:07:38

Speaker 1: had branches heavy with snow. When snow Bell reached the tree,

00:07:44

Speaker 1: the footprint suddenly stopped. Her little fury face wrinkled up

00:07:50

Speaker 1: in confusion. A small giggle came from above her. Snow

00:07:56

Speaker 1: Bell looked up at the tree. There was so much

00:08:00

Speaker 1: snow on it that she couldn't see past the first

00:08:03

Speaker 1: few branches. Snow Bell cooled out a hello. She waited.

00:08:12

Speaker 1: No one replied, Perhaps she had imagined hearing a giggle.

00:08:18

Speaker 1: She looked behind her at the unusual footprints they had disappeared.

00:08:25

Speaker 1: Snowbell shook her head. She said to herself, what is

00:08:31

Speaker 1: going on here? Footprints don't disappear like that. There was

00:08:39

Speaker 1: another giggle above her. Snow Bell heard it. Clearly someone

00:08:46

Speaker 1: was playing a fun game with her. She smiled, she

00:08:52

Speaker 1: knew a fun game too. Very loudly, she said, if

00:09:01

Speaker 1: there's nothing else to see here, I may as well

00:09:04

Speaker 1: make myself vanish. She turned her black nose white and

00:09:11

Speaker 1: immediately became invisible. There was a movement in the tree above,

00:09:18

Speaker 1: and bits of snow fluttered down from the branches, as

00:09:22

Speaker 1: if someone was moving along them. Snow Bell stayed as

00:09:27

Speaker 1: still as she could. She heard a soft thud as

00:09:32

Speaker 1: someone landed next to her. Her voice muttered, where did

00:09:39

Speaker 1: that polar bear go? She was just here. Polar bears

00:09:44

Speaker 1: don't disappear like that. Snow Bell tried hard not to giggle,

00:09:49

Speaker 1: but she couldn't help herself, and a little chuckle came

00:09:53

Speaker 1: from her. She made her nose turn back to black

00:09:58

Speaker 1: and became visible again. She said, softly, boo, I'm right

00:10:05

Speaker 1: here in front of her stood a young creature who

00:10:10

Speaker 1: looked like a human being but also like an animal.

00:10:15

Speaker 1: He had pale gray fur and light brown eyes. He

00:10:20

Speaker 1: had such a kind face that snow Bell knew immediately

00:10:24

Speaker 1: that she liked him. She asked, oh, are you a

00:10:29

Speaker 1: YETI He nodded and said, how did you make yourself

00:10:35

Speaker 1: disappear like that? I didn't know polar bears could do that.

00:10:42

Speaker 1: Snow Bell told him she wasn't a polar bear, she

00:10:46

Speaker 1: was a snow bear. The little Yetti shook his head

00:10:52

Speaker 1: and said there were no such thing as snow bears.

00:10:56

Speaker 1: His granddad had told him once that he'd met a

00:10:59

Speaker 1: snowbar when he was young, but no one else had

00:11:02

Speaker 1: seen the bear, and some yeties thought his granddad had

00:11:06

Speaker 1: made up the story. The Yetti said, my granddad loves

00:11:13

Speaker 1: making up stories. Sometimes they're real and sometimes they're not.

00:11:19

Speaker 1: I wanted to believe his story about the snow bear,

00:11:23

Speaker 1: but because no one else had ever seen one, I

00:11:26

Speaker 1: didn't think they were real. He smiled at snow Bell

00:11:31

Speaker 1: and said, I'm glad you are real. My name is Littlefoot.

00:11:39

Speaker 1: What's yours? Snow Bell told him. She said her grandmother

00:11:45

Speaker 1: had met a Yeti when she was young, and perhaps

00:11:49

Speaker 1: she had met Little Fittz's granddad. Maybe they did meet

00:11:55

Speaker 1: each other, Little Fritz said, with a smile. Snowbell pointed

00:12:01

Speaker 1: to the snow and asked why his footprints had disappeared.

00:12:08

Speaker 1: Littlefoot shrugged and said it was just something his footprints did.

00:12:13

Speaker 1: It happened with all yetties. He asked how she'd made

00:12:18

Speaker 1: herself invisible, and Snowbell shrugged and said it was just

00:12:23

Speaker 1: something snowbears did. Littlefoot asked her to do it again,

00:12:30

Speaker 1: so Snowbell did so. Then she asked him to make

00:12:34

Speaker 1: his footprints disappear again. Littlefoot raced around the oak tree

00:12:40

Speaker 1: ten times as fast as he could. He left behind

00:12:44

Speaker 1: dozens of footprints. Snow Bell watched in amazement as each

00:12:51

Speaker 1: yetty footprint completely vanished and the snow was smooth again.

00:12:58

Speaker 1: Littlefoot grin and said they should play a game together,

00:13:03

Speaker 1: and he knew the perfect one. Snowbell said she did too.

00:13:11

Speaker 1: At the same time, they both said hide and seek.

00:13:16

Speaker 1: They agreed Snowbell should hide first. Littlefoot turned his face

00:13:22

Speaker 1: to the tree, closed his eyes and began to count.

00:13:28

Speaker 1: Snowbell moved over to the snow hill, changed the color

00:13:33

Speaker 1: of her nose had made herself invisible. When Littlefoot had

00:13:39

Speaker 1: counted to ten, she saw him walking through the snow

00:13:44

Speaker 1: and muttering to himself, wondering where she'd gone. She tried

00:13:51

Speaker 1: very very hard not to giggle, but she couldn't help herself.

00:13:58

Speaker 1: Littlefot heard her game and ran over to her. She

00:14:02

Speaker 1: became visible again and smiled at him. He said, found

00:14:09

Speaker 1: you were very good at hiding. My turn now. Snowbell

00:14:15

Speaker 1: turned around, closed her eyes, and counted to ten. When

00:14:22

Speaker 1: she turned back around, she saw little Foot's prints in

00:14:26

Speaker 1: the snow. He would be easy to find, she thought,

00:14:32

Speaker 1: But before she could follow his prince, they started to vanish.

00:14:37

Speaker 1: In seconds, they were all gone. Snow Bell began to

00:14:44

Speaker 1: search for him. She hadn't been looking for long before

00:14:49

Speaker 1: she heard little Foot's giggle. He was a funny giggle,

00:14:54

Speaker 1: and it made her laugh too. She followed the noise

00:14:59

Speaker 1: and found the little yette hiding behind a fallen log.

00:15:05

Speaker 1: Snowbell said, found you. I don't think we should play

00:15:11

Speaker 1: this again because we keep laughing. You've got a funny laugh.

00:15:17

Speaker 1: Littlefoot chuckled and said, Snowbell had a funny laugh too.

00:15:24

Speaker 1: They began to laugh more and more, and hearing the

00:15:29

Speaker 1: other one laugh made them giggle and chuckle over and

00:15:34

Speaker 1: over again. They held onto their tummies as they laughed.

00:15:41

Speaker 1: Littlefoot laughed so much that he fell over and landed

00:15:47

Speaker 1: softly on his back in the thick snow. He kicked

00:15:52

Speaker 1: his little legs happily in the air. Seeing him like

00:15:57

Speaker 1: that made Snowbell gig or more until she fell over.

00:16:02

Speaker 1: To the snow Bear and the Yetti kicked their legs

00:16:08

Speaker 1: joyfully in the air and laughed and laughed. When all

00:16:15

Speaker 1: their laughter had come out for the time being at least,

00:16:20

Speaker 1: Snowbell asked Littlefoot if he knew any other games. Littlefoot

00:16:28

Speaker 1: asked if she'd ever made rainbow snowballs before. She hadn't,

00:16:34

Speaker 1: and asked her new friend how to make them. The

00:16:38

Speaker 1: young Yetti got up. He held his hand out a

00:16:42

Speaker 1: snowbell and helped her to her feet. He said, we

00:16:48

Speaker 1: have to find the rainbow snow first. When snowfalls during

00:16:53

Speaker 1: a full moon, the moonbeams magically turn it into different colors,

00:17:00

Speaker 1: But when the sun shines on the snow in the morning,

00:17:03

Speaker 1: the snow turns back into its normal color. Snowbell said, Oh,

00:17:11

Speaker 1: I didn't know that. Can you only find the magic

00:17:15

Speaker 1: snow at nighttime. Then the Yetty whispered. Sometimes the rainbow

00:17:22

Speaker 1: snow gets covered up with the other snow before the

00:17:27

Speaker 1: sun reaches it. If you're quick enough and know where

00:17:32

Speaker 1: to look, you'll find it. I know where to find some.

00:17:38

Speaker 1: Would you like to see it? Snow Bell didn't know

00:17:43

Speaker 1: why little Foot was whispering, but she felt like she

00:17:46

Speaker 1: should too. In a low whisper, she said, I would

00:17:54

Speaker 1: love to see the rainbow snow. Little Foot told snow

00:18:00

Speaker 1: Bell to follow him. As they walked along, snow Bell

00:18:05

Speaker 1: stepped in the Yeties' footprints. Their feet were the same sighs,

00:18:11

Speaker 1: but their toes were different. Snowbell pointed the double prince

00:18:17

Speaker 1: out to her new friend, and they stopped for a

00:18:21

Speaker 1: moment to look at them. The Yeties prince disappeared, leaving

00:18:26

Speaker 1: only snowbells behind. Littlefoot smiled at the snow bear and said,

00:18:35

Speaker 1: my prince will always be there with yours, even if

00:18:40

Speaker 1: we can't see them. Snowbell smiled and said that was

00:18:46

Speaker 1: a lovely thought. They reached a large rock. Littlefoot knelt

00:18:53

Speaker 1: next to it and began to scoop some of the

00:18:57

Speaker 1: top snow away. Snow Bell knelt next to him and

00:19:02

Speaker 1: did the same. As they scooped the snow away, the

00:19:07

Speaker 1: little bear started to sing a song her grandmother had

00:19:11

Speaker 1: taught her. The yetty looked at her in surprise and

00:19:16

Speaker 1: said he knew that song too, his granddad had taught

00:19:21

Speaker 1: him it. They decided their grandparents must have met all

00:19:28

Speaker 1: those years ago, and imagined them singing together as they

00:19:33

Speaker 1: played in the snow. Littlefoot and snow Bell sang together

00:19:40

Speaker 1: happily and continued clearing the snow away. Snow Bell was

00:19:46

Speaker 1: having such a good time that she quite forgot what

00:19:50

Speaker 1: they were looking for, until Littlefoot started to whisper again.

00:19:58

Speaker 1: Snow Bell, look there it is. Snow Bell gazed down

00:20:07

Speaker 1: in wonder at the rainbow snow beneath her paws. A

00:20:13

Speaker 1: wide line of snow was colored in bright shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo,

00:20:26

Speaker 1: and violet. Snow Bell said it looked like a rainbow

00:20:33

Speaker 1: who drifted from the sky and was having a peaceful

00:20:37

Speaker 1: sleep in the snow. Littlefoot said he'd never thought about

00:20:44

Speaker 1: the rainbow snow that way before, but agreed with snow

00:20:49

Speaker 1: Bell that it did look like a sleeping rainbow. Snow

00:20:56

Speaker 1: Bell gently put her paw into the tea colored snow.

00:21:02

Speaker 1: She giggled and said, if this is is it supposed

00:21:08

Speaker 1: to do that? Littlefoot nodded. He said you should see

00:21:15

Speaker 1: what else it does. Let's make some rainbow snowballs together

00:21:20

Speaker 1: and I'll show you what to do with them. The

00:21:25

Speaker 1: friends made as many snowballs as they could carry. The

00:21:31

Speaker 1: little yetti covered the special snow back up in case

00:21:36

Speaker 1: they needed some more. Later, Littlefoot walked away from the

00:21:42

Speaker 1: rock and asked Snowball not to move. He said he

00:21:47

Speaker 1: was going to throw a rainbow snowball at her tummy,

00:21:51

Speaker 1: but she wasn't to worry because it wouldn't hurt at

00:21:55

Speaker 1: all and something magical would happen. When the snow snowball

00:22:00

Speaker 1: landed on her, Snowbell nodded, put her snowballs down and

00:22:08

Speaker 1: said she was ready. Littlefoot through his first rainbow snowball.

00:22:17

Speaker 1: It aarked gracefully through the air before flying towards snow Bell.

00:22:25

Speaker 1: The snow landed gently on her tummy and began to

00:22:30

Speaker 1: pop like bubbles in a bath. Pop pop pop. With

00:22:41

Speaker 1: a giggle, the snow bear said it tickles. Throw another one,

00:22:48

Speaker 1: Littlefoot did, and every time a magical snowball landed on Snowbell.

00:22:55

Speaker 1: She chuckled and chortled because it tickled so much. When

00:23:01

Speaker 1: Littlefoot had thrown his last snowball, the little Snowbar said

00:23:08

Speaker 1: she would throw one at him. Snow Bell threw her

00:23:12

Speaker 1: first one his sword towards Littlefoot and knocked him over.

00:23:20

Speaker 1: He fell backwards on to the soft snow and started

00:23:25

Speaker 1: to laugh. Snow Bell ran over to him and said sorry,

00:23:31

Speaker 1: she didn't know she was so strong. The yetty said

00:23:36

Speaker 1: there was no need to apologize because it didn't hurt

00:23:40

Speaker 1: at all and it was fun to fall on to

00:23:43

Speaker 1: the snow. He told her to throw more at him

00:23:48

Speaker 1: and see if she could knock him over again. Snow

00:23:52

Speaker 1: Bell did knock him over again and again, and every

00:23:58

Speaker 1: time he fell down. Littlefoot would laugh loudly because the

00:24:04

Speaker 1: popping snow would pop and tickle his tommy. Hearing him

00:24:10

Speaker 1: laugh made snow Bell giggle too. The Little snow Bear

00:24:16

Speaker 1: soon ran out of rainbow snowballs, so she returned to

00:24:22

Speaker 1: the big Rock with her friend, gathered more snow, and

00:24:26

Speaker 1: made plenty more. Littlefoot said they could do more amazing

00:24:32

Speaker 1: things with the magical snow. He stood away from the

00:24:37

Speaker 1: bear and told her to watch him. He collected a

00:24:41

Speaker 1: handful of snowballs and began to juggle them. As he

00:24:46

Speaker 1: did so, tiny rainbow colored snowflakes drifted from the snow

00:24:53

Speaker 1: and floated upwards. When they got higher, the snowflakes joined

00:24:59

Speaker 1: together and made a huge floating rainbow. Rays of sunlight

00:25:07

Speaker 1: shone down through the rainbow and made it glimmer and shimmer.

00:25:14

Speaker 1: The colors slowly faded from it, and the snowy rainbow

00:25:19

Speaker 1: turned silver before completely disappearing. Littlefoot told snow Bell to

00:25:28

Speaker 1: do some juggling too. She said she'd never done it

00:25:32

Speaker 1: before and wasn't sure she'd be any good. Of course

00:25:37

Speaker 1: you will, Littlefoot said, I wasn't very good when I

00:25:42

Speaker 1: first started, but I kept practicing until I could do it.

00:25:47

Speaker 1: Watch what I do again, and copy me. Snow Bell

00:25:54

Speaker 1: watched the yetty carefully. When she thought she was ready,

00:26:00

Speaker 1: she began to juggle the snowballs. She dropped a few

00:26:05

Speaker 1: at first, but she soon got better, and before long,

00:26:10

Speaker 1: tiny rain colored snowflakes drifted upwards from the snow and

00:26:15

Speaker 1: made a snow rainbow in the sky. Littlefoot told snow

00:26:22

Speaker 1: Bell she was an excellent juggler, and she replied he

00:26:28

Speaker 1: was an excellent teacher. The yetty had something else to

00:26:34

Speaker 1: show snow Bell. He took her over to the oak

00:26:38

Speaker 1: tree and showed her how to throw the special snowballs

00:26:43

Speaker 1: on to the branches so that they would stay there

00:26:47

Speaker 1: and not fall off again. She copied his movements exactly.

00:26:55

Speaker 1: The snow Bear and the yetty concentrated on throwing the

00:27:01

Speaker 1: snowballs up onto the tree, where they rested lightly on

00:27:06

Speaker 1: the branches. When all the snowballs had been thrown, Littlefoot

00:27:14

Speaker 1: took Snowbell by the poor and asked her to stand

00:27:18

Speaker 1: beneath the tree with him. The two friends stood under

00:27:25

Speaker 1: the tree. Littlefoot looked up through the branches as if

00:27:31

Speaker 1: waiting for something to happen. Snow Bell looked up too,

00:27:37

Speaker 1: even though she didn't know what they were waiting for.

00:27:42

Speaker 1: A few seconds later, something magical happened. Rainbow colored snowflakes

00:27:51

Speaker 1: began to fall from the tree, and not just from

00:27:55

Speaker 1: the branches where the snowballs had landed, but from every

00:28:01

Speaker 1: branch on the tree. Down and down, the flakes fluttered silently.

00:28:10

Speaker 1: They fell from every twig and branch and surrounded the

00:28:15

Speaker 1: tree like a rainbow waterfall. Snowbell looked at the falling

00:28:22

Speaker 1: flakes in complete wonder. Each snowflake was different to the

00:28:29

Speaker 1: one next to it. The bright colors sparkled in the

00:28:34

Speaker 1: light of the sun red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.

00:28:50

Speaker 1: Snowbell turned slowly around and watched the flakes falling like

00:28:57

Speaker 1: a sparkling curtain of color. She said to Littlefoot, I

00:29:05

Speaker 1: feel like I'm inside a magical rainbow. He's beautiful. Thank

00:29:13

Speaker 1: you for showing me this. Littlefoot smiled and said she

00:29:18

Speaker 1: was very welcome. They watched the falling snow in silence.

00:29:26

Speaker 1: As the flakes landed on the ground, they sparkled brightly

00:29:33

Speaker 1: and then turned into white snowflakes. The last of the

00:29:39

Speaker 1: rainbow snow fell. Snowbell yawned and said watching all those

00:29:46

Speaker 1: beautiful snowflakes that made her tired. She said, I might

00:29:53

Speaker 1: have to go back to my snow house soon and

00:29:57

Speaker 1: get into my bed. Littlefoot gave her a puzzled look

00:30:05

Speaker 1: and asked what a snow house was. It's where I live,

00:30:11

Speaker 1: snow Bell explained, don't you live in houses. Littlefoot shook

00:30:18

Speaker 1: his head and said he lived in a cave at

00:30:21

Speaker 1: the top of the mountains. All the yetties lived in caves.

00:30:27

Speaker 1: He asked more about her snow house and what it

00:30:31

Speaker 1: looked like. Snow Bell said, would you like to make

00:30:38

Speaker 1: one with me? We can make a small one and

00:30:42

Speaker 1: it won't take long. Littlefoot said he would love that,

00:30:48

Speaker 1: and together, the snow Bear and the yetty built a

00:30:52

Speaker 1: cozy snow house, complete with two windows and an open doorway.

00:30:59

Speaker 1: They snuggled down inside it and smiled at each other.

00:31:05

Speaker 1: Snow Bell said, I'm glad we met. We two, Littlefoot replied.

00:31:14

Speaker 1: The two new friends smiled again, and then closed their

00:31:19

Speaker 1: tired eyes. The youngsters fell asleep. A minute later, another

00:31:28

Speaker 1: snowbar slid down the same hill that snow Bell had

00:31:33

Speaker 1: gone down earlier. It was snow Bell's grandmother. She was

00:31:39

Speaker 1: looking for her granddaughter when she saw snow Bell and

00:31:46

Speaker 1: her new friend fast asleep in the little snow house.

00:31:53

Speaker 1: Her heart filled with love. She was glad snow Bell

00:31:59

Speaker 1: had met. She gazed at them with love. Someone moved

00:32:06

Speaker 1: over to her and looked at the sleeping infants too.

00:32:13

Speaker 1: It was Littlefoot's grandfather. He smiled at Snowbell's grandmother and

00:32:21

Speaker 1: said it was wonderful to meet her again after all

00:32:26

Speaker 1: these years. The rest of snow Bell's family slid down

00:32:33

Speaker 1: the hill, and the other members of Littlefoot's family walked

00:32:39

Speaker 1: out from behind the trees. Once they'd made sure the

00:32:45

Speaker 1: little ones were sleeping soundly, they introduced themselves to each

00:32:51

Speaker 1: other and began chatting about many things. The yetties told

00:32:58

Speaker 1: the snow bears about the magical rainbow snow and showed

00:33:03

Speaker 1: them what it did. The snow bears talked about their

00:33:08

Speaker 1: snow homes and then helped the yetties to make some

00:33:15

Speaker 1: The families chatted happily with each other, and whilst they

00:33:20

Speaker 1: had their differences, they had lots in common to especially

00:33:26

Speaker 1: how much they loved their children. The sky grew darker

00:33:33

Speaker 1: and stars appeared. The families talked a bit more quietly

00:33:41

Speaker 1: and said, now that they'd met each other, they would

00:33:45

Speaker 1: make sure they would meet again very soon. They placed

00:33:51

Speaker 1: some markers on trees and rocks so that they would

00:33:56

Speaker 1: know where to find each other in the future. The

00:34:01

Speaker 1: full moon appeared, and dancing sheets of green, blue, and

00:34:08

Speaker 1: purple weaved back and forth across the dark sky. The

00:34:16

Speaker 1: two families sat down in the snow together and watched

00:34:21

Speaker 1: the magical dancing lights. One by one, they began to yawn.

00:34:32

Speaker 1: They decided a night under the stars with their new

00:34:36

Speaker 1: friends would be quite wonderful. The snow bears and the

00:34:43

Speaker 1: yetties lay down on the snow, said good night to

00:34:49

Speaker 1: each other, and fell into a peaceful slumber. Near By,

00:34:57

Speaker 1: Snowbell and her new friend Littlefoot was still fast asleep.

00:35:05

Speaker 1: The little snow bear dreamed about her new friend with

00:35:11

Speaker 1: the kind face. Littlefoot dreamed about the smiling snow bear

00:35:19

Speaker 1: who could make herself invisible. The two friends sighed happily

00:35:27

Speaker 1: and drifted into a deeper sleep.
